I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

This is a good guide on using the 5th dose.

First week on 3.75mg and great suppression - the two days after I injected I was out all day and basically forgot to eat as I never felt hungry so had one meal a day.

Really happy with my 17lb weight loss in a little over 5 weeks.

Welp. As you know, my 5mg is in the fridge waiting for me but I'm getting plenty suppression and zero bad effects on 2.5mg so I've pretty much decided to stay on 2.5mg and will just need to count clicks.

Looking at my 2.5mg pen - it's the end of my first one and I really does look like there's a whole other dose in there.

Can anyone confirm - do I just click the pen as far as I can and give myself that 5th dose, even if it's shy of the usual 2.5mg/60 clicks?

Or is the idea to top it up from the new pen?

I'm a bit confused on the whole 'golden dose' thing. I do know I don't particularly want to get insulin needles involved - I'm not convinced about the sanitation of that.

Has anyone done a 5th dose directly from the 2.5mg pen?

Another thing to consider is the pen should only be used for 30 days so if you are planning to do 30 clicks for each dose from a 5mg pen it will be much longer than 30 days. Personally I would buy a new 2.5mg pen and keep the 5mg in the fridge for when you eventually move up.

I’ve seen a few TikTok’s where people say injecting into the back of their arm gives them the best suppression- has anyone here done that and can confirm?

I usually inject into my belly as I assume nearer my stomach = better suppression, but wondered if I was missing out.

Also for anyone on Juniper- I was going to change providers as they’re more expensive for 5mg, but if you go through the cancellation form enough it will eventually ask if they can convince you to stay and offer you £65 off your next pen. Still makes them slightly more expensive than you can get elsewhere, but worth it for not having the faff!

Yes - underneath of the upper arm is a game changer. Fantastic suppression which was virtually immediate and it lasted far longer than when I did a stomach jab. I am only on week 6 though but the last two have been in my arm and I won't go back to tummy.

MrsPepperpot79 · 18/03/2025 15:37

Due for first dose at 5mg tomorrow and really hoping I get some suppresion/fullness back as it seems to have vanished this week! Willpower alone here, and I know I've eaten more as a result (not shockingly so, but definitely above the calories recommended for loss). Not looking forward to the scales tomorrow....

Can you do this yourself or does it need two people? Just worried about how fiddly it looks!

Hersetta427 · 18/03/2025 15:39

It is a bit fiddly but I managed by myself no issues.

mysparkleismissing · 18/03/2025 15:41

WI day for me I lost 1.3kg which is 2.89lbs

Total loss of 1s 3.4lb / 7.6kg (most of which on MJ) and I had my 6th dose on Friday and that was my first 5mg

Still can't see it/feel it in my clothes really

Almost in the 13s

sweetpickle2 · 18/03/2025 15:45

Oh wow thanks @Hersetta427 that’s really good to know! Going to do my jab this evening in my arm.

SpiralSister · 18/03/2025 16:04

Ooh please report back arm jabbers! I assumed it was a 2 person job as per the directions, but as I can’t do tum it would be good to have an alternative to thigh..

Hangryfastjo · 18/03/2025 17:11

Oh id be very interested in trying arm next time, please report back.
I did first 5mg yesterday at 4pm (6th dose of MJ) looking at shotsy it has just peaked in my system. Suppression seems quite good so far and no side effects yet.
Everyone's weigh ins are fab, well done. My wk 6 weigh in is on Thursday.

Edit to say actually it will only be 5 weeks completed on Thursday (but 6 jabs done)

Mounjaroday · 18/03/2025 17:55

I doubt the prescriber will send me another pen? I wasn't planning to use more than 4 doses, so well within the 30 days. I know some people would attempt 8 doses from it, but I'm a rule-keeper lol!

I watched a youtube - BigFatClimber - actually get the 5th dose out by simply clicking, so it seems it can be done. I heard they've maybe changed the pens, I'll soon find out if it works on my pen.

They’ve changed the pens, hard clicks can break the plunger now from what I’ve seen but if you’re not going to use an insulin needle then you’re not losing anything really.

The small needles I got are all fully sealed and I’ve got loads of wipes so no different to using what the providers sends for me and it was super easy.

0987654321q · 18/03/2025 19:00

I imagine doing a 5th dose with an insulin needle may be easier than the pen?

MissionToSize10 · 18/03/2025 19:01

5th dose was really easy tbh with a separate needle

Febnewbie · 18/03/2025 19:14

@HoratioBum good to hear the scales are moving! I had a 2 week plateau before and seem to be in another one but keeping the faith in the method

MrsHero · 18/03/2025 22:52

Anyone else feeling the cold a lot? I'm ok in the day, but it's so bad at night - last night I had a hot water bottle, warmer duvet and a blanket, and still felt chilly, argh!

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 19/03/2025 06:01

@MrsHero yes, I'm feeling very cold a lot of the time. But it's the other way round for me - I'm.feeling it during the day but seems to be ok at night.

OntheTrainX · 19/03/2025 06:55

Yes, coldness is one of my symptoms along with mild nausea. Although both disappear by day 3 or 4.

0987654321q · 19/03/2025 07:36

I get cold at random times of the day and night. It's really weird as I normally just get bothered by heat. I read that drops in blood pressure can cause coldness but I'm not sure that applies to me.

Mounjaroday · 19/03/2025 08:21

Defo been suffering from the cold too!

Bring a blanket and come join thread 4 when you’re ready xx

Yes! Exactly the same for me, at its worst I end up in thick pjs, a hoodie, thick duvet and a blanket on top. I normally prefer feeling cold to hot but this has been a different level lol.
