Hello wonderful people!

Looking forward to hearing how we’re all getting on with your Mounjaro journey, and the general good chat!

I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Two things for me to note today - hanging around while my daughter is at an event with her dad and I was going to go into Costa and treat myself. But I didn't! I really felt like it was something I should or could do but equally thought I didn't quite want to.

So I went round the shops and now I'm waiting for them to pick me up - and my backside definitely has less padding for sitting around waiting 🤣

I'm definitely hungry and will have some heavy carbs for dinner and that will be within my calories and feel like a massive treat.

No doubts about moving up to 5mg next week.

Quick check-in! Had my second 5mg dose on Friday, so I guess I'm into week 6 now...

SW: 210.4
CW: 192.2 (after 5 weeks)
TW: around 150-160 ish I guess

Question for you guys - how do you decide to move up? I'm on 5mg now and suppression is good. If anything, I struggle with nausea quite a bit. Obviously I've got tons left to lose still! Do you just move up each month anyway, or would you stay on the 5 a bit longer?
Moved up from the 2.5 as everyone says it's just a starter and won't make much of a difference, although I lost on that too.

I’m similar (206 to 190 lbs in five weeks) and I have decided to stick at 5mg for my third order due to nausea and fatigue.

The coldness and tinny taste I can handle. No big deal. But the sick and tired feeling, I really don’t want to get worse and I’m afraid that it might on 7.5.

Week 4 has been the usual fluctuations for me. In theory sts but I need to start measuring too as I can see my body has changed.

I was just reading one of the mounjaro trial. Patients on the higher doses lost a bit more over the course of the trial did you all know the trial was 72 weeks? So although a fair percentage lost 15% or more of their body weight, it wasn't a fast loss by any stretch. It averages about 1/2 lb a week.

Of course it's still good they lost the weight. I just think we should remember the results took time.

The results have encouraged me to try and increase my dose a bit which I didn't want to do. So I'm going to try 3.75 (split into 2 doses a week) and see how I get on.

I did a 20 mile hike today and feel pretty good for it. Ate fine too.

Mounjaronewbie25 · 16/03/2025 16:13

Had my first dose of 5mg yesterday and feeling pretty rough today. Felt sick last night after dinner and awful headache today.

Hopefully my body will adjust, I definitely was ready to move up a dose!

Sending empathy. I had the same minus the headache. The symptoms wore off after two days but luckily the suppression remained. So, hopefully you’ll be ok tomorrow.

WoolerOwl · 16/03/2025 18:00

Quick question: does anyone else get that anxious, something's not quite right feeling on the first and maybe second days after injection? I can cope with it, now I recognize it for what it is, but I am curious to know if anyone else feels it and if/how much it increases on the next dose up (5mg).

PerditionCatchMySoul · 16/03/2025 18:12

to anyone worrying about moving up, I did all 2.5 doses, plus the golden dose, and then took my first 5mg yesterday morning, I’ve had no side effects at all and suppression is good. K was worried about getting funny tummy/ the shits but I feel great!!

billysboy · 16/03/2025 18:26

Just taken my 2nd 5mg and the nausea is back already
just need to power through as it dies down after a day or two

I’m finding slices of ginger brewed in boiling hot water with a slice of lemon has really helped with my nausea. Hope it passes soon for you. It’s a horrible feeling.

Ah me too! Did not feel out of place walking into shops today and loved looking at all the clothes.

I am so nervous about trying anything on though! Don’t want to get ahead of myself so might wait until I’ve lost another half stone before having a go.

I sort of hate current fashion so I am more looking hopefully at my stash of clothes I have grown out of..

Mounjaroday · 16/03/2025 20:40

I have no idea what fashion is these days. Am so out of touch. Find it difficult to visualise anything outside of leggings and baggy T. Certainly nothing fitted. God forbid!

Send help!

Long way to go but steady progress so far. Debating golden dose next week but have 5mg pen in fridge - will see how this week goes.

That’s great progress! Which app are you using? I like that it has the graph and all the stats on one page.

Checking in:
SW: 16st 2
1st Injection: 15st 9
2nd injection: 15st 0
3rd injection: 14st 9
CW: 4th injection: 14st 6
total loss so far: 1 stone and 10 lbs (but 7lbs was pre mounjaro so 1 stone 3 from injections)
very happy with the loss so far, thinking about doing 3.75 rather than the full 5 for next doses though as don’t want to push too fast…

sc0ttishlass · 16/03/2025 20:55

Hello all, quick update on first week on 5mg (after 5 weeks on 2.5 as did golden dose).
I've found it totally different. First day I didn't feel too different. 2nd day felt absolutely awful. Just very nauseous and out of it. Was in office and was almost just sat staring at screen. Came home and bed really early. Friday felt fine again.
In terms of suppression feelings I probably felt less suppression, but, when I ate something I felt fuller quicker. I also only wanted healthy ish foods.
I've had a headache most of yhe week even though been drinking loads of water.
Ex0ecting to feel similar this week again. If it continues for the month I'll go back to 2.5 as can't really live like this in terms of not working properly, bed as early as possible etc, whereas 2.5 was fine.
I know everyone is different on it but just thought may be useful insight..
(Still losing and still feeling like this magic drug will save my life. I can't belive how much time I have to think about other stuff given not thinking of food) x

Ke11 · 16/03/2025 22:08

@sc0ttishlass you sound very similar to how I felt on dose 1 of 5 mg. Dose 2 I found a lot easier and dose 3 was yesterday with pretty much no side effects other than quite cold today. For me I think it's was just my body adjusting to the higher dose, hopefully it's the same for you. Also are you taking electrolytes with your water? I put 2 zero calorie electrolyte tablets into each water refill since drinking a lot can flush out things that you need and end up causing headaches too.

App is called Shotsy. I just have the free version.

hennybeans · 16/03/2025 22:32

I’m in the middle of week 5 and really struggling. I have tonsillitis so only injected 3mg instead of the 5 mg I was supposed to on Friday. I was already feeling a huge amount of nausea and fatigue from the virus, but this weekend I have felt so terrible.

I can barely eat. Yesterday I managed 2 apples and some smoothie and what a mistake! Sulphur burps smelling of rotten, eggy, fermented apple. I’m on day 7/8 of tonsillitis now, so nearly over it, but the nausea is so strong. And I’m just so tired. I have to sit down as soon as I get out of the shower. I think it’s the injection combined with the virus that is like a double whammy. I’m for sure going back to 2.5 mg this Friday no matter how I feel.

HoobleDooble · 16/03/2025 22:48

I've only just found this thread, had my first jab on 1st Feb and was 22st 6.5. 6 weeks in I'm at 21st 4 so a steady 16.5 lb loss. A long way to go but it's going in the right direction so far.

Mounjaroday · 16/03/2025 22:51

Welcome @HoobleDooble glad you found us!

sc0ttishlass · 17/03/2025 06:24

@hennybeans good to know you felt better on dose two of 5, here's hoping!
I didn't think about that re the water! Thank you. I think i need to sort out my vitamin intake in general on this so will aim to sort this week!

Oh, another nsv..i went on a walk yesterday and the rucksack i used ties around the waist. I happened to notice what a huge gap there was from last time I'd used it. This medicine really is miraculous!

MynameisJune · 17/03/2025 06:44

So today is jab day for me. Still on 2.5 but don’t think it’s working super well for me at the minute. I’ve basically not lost any weight for the past 2 weigh ins. Unfortunately I’m having to stick at 2.5 as I ordered my pen when I was great suppression.

Typically I weighed less yesterday than I do today
🙄

Does anyone else struggle to get 2ltrs of water in over a weekend. I’m usually running around between the kids dance lessons and then parties and play dates. If I drink loads of water I need the loo all the time and sometimes there isn’t any in easy access as we’re out and about. I managed about 1ltr both days this weekend.

I know this is the long game, and I’m definitely eating less and no binge eating at night like in the past. Just disappointed that it still feels like doing everything right and not losing. Even though I’ve lost 7lb in 4 weeks without feeling like I’ve missed out on anything and I started weight training which always stalls the weight on the scales for me.

Last year I lost 24lb without meds, and kept most of it off but could not get down past 180lb and that’s what is happening now and I think I’m spiralling a bit. I’m sure once I can go up to 5mg it will start moving again.

Sorry no point to this post just woe is me and needing to get it out my head.

Febnewbie · 17/03/2025 07:13

I am also on a bit of a pause - feels like I have sort of consolidated the loss rather than dropping more but 13st is a bit of a previous set point for me so I am wondering if it is that.

I have little appetite but when I start eating, I can still eat a decent portion

@MynameisJune agree with you on the weekend water - I have had a couple of long days out with the kids and it's difficult to drink too much water as I don't like to leave them unsupervised (sort of in-between ages for that)
