Hello wonderful people!

Looking forward to hearing how we’re all getting on with your Mounjaro journey, and the general good chat!

I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Week 4 and I’m feeling more hungry and wanting to snack. Wondering now if I made a mistake ordering another 2.5mg pen. It was working so well for the first 3 weeks, I thought why not stick to it? But now I feel that I’m ready for a larger dose.

Think I will try and get the bonus dose out of my current pen and then aim to do 3.75 doses out of the next 2.5mg pen. So 4 weeks of 3.75. Then by week 8 I should be definitely ready for 5mg. Has anyone else done similar?

Ke11 · 15/03/2025 16:49

For rewards, I love colouring books, it's like meditation for me but for price reasons I tend to get them at The Works or similar. They're all very good but just the designs are 1 to 2 years old by the time they make it to the discount shops and it's a limited selection. My rewards are "fancy" colouring books from my amazon wishlist. It was going to be one per kilo but I've had to change to one per 3 kilos lost since it's going so well. I've had my first 3 books arrive today. After this it'll have to be every 5+ kg since I have plenty to colour now.

If anyone wants any recommendations, Lulu Mayo and the "A Million..." series of books, I've just got a million little monsters and it's very good, or Melpomeni Chatzipanagiotou books for detailed designs.

When I get under 100kg I'm getting myself some new jeans and getting some expensive (to me) colouring pencils and pens.

At some point I'll be getting my hair cut short and dyed, that might be my 86.5kg reward since that gets me to just "overweight", I'm making a list.

When I get to my goal weight I'm going to have a shopping spree at lego and get a few of the big sets I've been wanting fo a long time.

Food rewards are so unappealing to me now which is a miracle.

Zibb · 15/03/2025 17:08

I will be doing my first 5mg jab in a couple of hours.

Decided to skip the extra dose for a couple of reasons. Food noise is loud and I'm also really curious how 5mg will feel. Gonna do it in my arm.

So official weigh in today at 101.8kg! Sooo close to my first goal of 100kg. Hopefully in 1 week I will be there.

SW: 115.8kg
CW: 101.8kg

My favourite jeans are too big, my walking coat fits properly, my boobs have shrunk! I walk faster, I feel more balanced. Pretty good first month.

I've been secretly practicing push ups so a proper push up is now a big goal of mine haha. I feel like it's possible in a couple of months.

Morning all! Checking in, finished my first 2.5mg pen last week and took my first 5mg dose this morning.

Results after 4 weeks on Mounjaro:

Mounjaro SW on 15.3.25 - 14st 12
CW - 13st 12

Loss this week: 2.5 lbs
Total loss: 14 lbs

Delighted with 1 stone off in my first 4 weeks, I feel so much better already. I can’t believe how much my belly has flattened, it’s usually such a stubborn area for me, and might sound weird but I feel taller when walking around?! Must be improved posture now I’m not hunching forward so much with the weight?

I think that might be confidence 😁

narkyspirit · 15/03/2025 18:24

week 5 D2

Height 161cm (no change)

SW 95.9 (BMI 36.99)
CW 89.7 (BMI 34.6)

Loss 6.2kg (13.8 llb)

I'm happy with that so far, averaging 1.24Kg a week I don't have a goal weight in mind, more a get BMI under 30 first and go from there

Hangryfastjo · 15/03/2025 19:23

Had my first reaction to food today. Finished the grandsons bubblegum ice cream today. There wasn't a lot. I savoured and enjoyed it actually. That was 3pm. Just been to toilet with pains as well 😫🤢

Well i thought i was getting away with very few side effects, so that has reminded me to be more careful 🧐

CallIpswichNow · 15/03/2025 20:13

Feel like I’ve eaten too much dinner, and now I’m a bit worried I’ll have side effects (which I haven’t had at all so far) 😣

Hope you feel right again soon @Hangryfastjo

People’s results are so impressive!

Holy moly you lost 14kg in a month! You must be a super responder.

That’s what I was thinking! 2st2lb in a month is insane. I’m jealous 🤣

Holy moly you lost 14kg in a month! You must be a super responder.

I think it helps that I have a huge amount to lose compared to a lot of people on this thread. I've still got around 45kg to lose so my TDEE is high and it's easier to get a bigger deficit.

My average daily calorie burn the past month has been 3204 and my average daily intake has been 2186. If I eat more than 2400~ calories in a day then the side effects are terrible. As in never ending diarrhoea and hellish stomach cramps.

Despite eating a lot of protein I've also lost a lot of muscle mass. I can feel it in my arms especially. When I'm making bread at work 15kg of flour now feels like 30kg. Despite my secret push up practice...!

So the fast loss has been good in some ways and terrible in others.

I feel better in many ways but I think the next month I will probably see some other nasty effects (hair loss, fatigue) due to it.

Edit: I also have a never-ending period, it was supposed to end the day I started mj (15/2) but is still going. What effect that is having on the weight loss or how the loss is affecting the bleeding I'm not sure but it's been pretty rough.

(sorry for all the TMI but better to be transparent I guess?!)

incognitomummy · 16/03/2025 01:17

Warmautumnbreeze · 15/03/2025 13:04

Anyone else feel sick from the smell of greasy food since you've been on MJ?

I did chicken burgers and onions rings for my kids for dinner last night, just oven cooked ones, but they let out a lot of grease during cooking and as I was dishing up I thought I really could not be paid to eat this right now 🤢

@Warmautumnbreezenot quite bit I have wanted to eat fruit veg and salad. Never had that before!

SpiralSister · 16/03/2025 07:25

Morning!

Weigh in day ( isn’t it annoying how you dip down more in the week and then go up again on weigh in day?! Still under 200 lbs though!)

SW: 15.5
CW: 14.3
TL: 1.2
GW: 11.5

I must say, I’m delighted. I look better, I feel better, I’m in smaller jeans. My skin is better, my IBS is gone. I love having minimal alcohol - very freeing.

Second 5mg jab tonight - bring it on! Good luck for the week ahead everyone 😘

Is it worth getting that checked out with the GP, @Zibb? Depending on age, might that be a problem? (The period)

MissionToSize10 · 16/03/2025 07:37

Took the 5th dose yesterday. It was really easy. Felt like a druggy injecting with a proper needle!! 🤣 shame to waste it though

Stepped on scales today and im now -11lbs since starting! 🙌

i noticed by looking in the mirror that my last weeks injection site in my lower tummy has a massive bruise. Im trying to keep the fact im on this secret so when my H saw, i had to make up some lie of walking into something and i bruise fairly easily! I hadnt noticed it all week as i just couldn’t see it on my tummy as its so fat! Anyone else bruise? Only time its happened on wk4 injection site. There are stretch marks all over my stomach

Is this the first month of it happening, Zibb? A GP may not do much yet but it'd be worth getting the issue logged on their radar.

It'd be interesting to read a thread about what menstrual symptoms others have noted. As I said the other day I'm post menopausal, and surgically so but I still noticed an increase in emotions last week that I've not had since my op. Must be some form of connection.

I was told by a nurse for something same but different, either moving the needle too much or putting too much pressure on the needle site after an injection can cause bruising.

Ohsoverytired11 · 16/03/2025 08:30

Week 6 day 1. Time to move up to the next pen after taking the golden dose of 2.5 last week. 2lb loss this week which I'm happy with

SW 14st 2.6lb
CW 13st 3lb
Total loss 13.6lb

I won't lie, I'm a bit annoyed not to have list that 0.4lb more to have list 1 stone with the first pen!

Going up to 3.75 rather than the full 5 as I've been getting really good suppression and I have a busy few weeks so I want to avoid side effects where possible. So far I have experienced the odd few hours of chills and I occasionally need to take some sena tablets when I've not been for a couple of days. And some rennies on hand after a bigger meal!

PurpleFlower1983 · 16/03/2025 09:20

SW (1.3.25): 13st 12
CW: 13st 4

Took my 3rd dose yesterday. Side effects have been so much less than Wegovy although I knew about it in the week when I had a fairly high fat content meal out. Awful stomach cramps. Still don’t feel like I have the same suppression as Wegovy but I must do as the weight is coming off faster! Wonder drug!

Yeah, I have an appointment at the end of the month and it's also recorded with my prescriber (oushk, their support is really good). They say it will most likely adjust as my body gets used to the medication.

I did have allll the blood tests prior to starting mj due to another health issue and everything came back normal.

If you look on the Reddit groups and Facebook lots of other women are also having cycle issues. So I'm not too worried, just a bit fed up as my cycle is normally so predictable.

I think the week it happened i was panicking about getting caught so perhaps i just stabbed it in and put too much pressure on. Ill be careful from now on

Know that feeling. I was working out how to do the GD whilst DH was downstairs.

hopeMJ · 16/03/2025 12:07

Long way to go but steady progress so far. Debating golden dose next week but have 5mg pen in fridge - will see how this week goes.

pjsandplants · 16/03/2025 14:02

Just checking in.

SW 15st 11lb
CW 15st 1lb

I've lost 3lb this week, 10lb in total. Did my 4th 2.5mg jab on Friday evening. Still have good suppression and no side effects apart from the occasional sulphur burp. Undecided whether to increase to 5mg next week or stick at 2.5 as I've found it hard to eat enough this week been hovering around 800-1000 cal but aiming for 1200. Have received the 5mg pen in case but think I'll decide based on how I feel this week.

SansaClegane · 16/03/2025 14:51

Quick check-in! Had my second 5mg dose on Friday, so I guess I'm into week 6 now...

SW: 210.4
CW: 192.2 (after 5 weeks)
TW: around 150-160 ish I guess

Question for you guys - how do you decide to move up? I'm on 5mg now and suppression is good. If anything, I struggle with nausea quite a bit. Obviously I've got tons left to lose still! Do you just move up each month anyway, or would you stay on the 5 a bit longer?
Moved up from the 2.5 as everyone says it's just a starter and won't make much of a difference, although I lost on that too.

Febnewbie · 16/03/2025 15:08

@SansaClegane as you are losing 3lbs a week on average, I might consider staying on 5 if I were you

My weekly average loss is 1.7lbs so at the moment, I am thinking I will go up to 7.5 but I will see how the next couple of weeks go first
