I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Second 5mg dose this week. Lost 0.7kg last week. It's been a tough week, I've not been feeling great and I've just been out of sorts so I'm pleased. I need to decide what to do next, has anyone decided to go up to 7.5mg?

SW 82.6kg
CW 77.5kg
TW still undecided.

xnotthemammax · 14/03/2025 10:39

Wow @xnotthemammax
Huuuuuge difference in your face, that's amazing! x

Febnewbie · 14/03/2025 11:01

Ah you look great @xnotthemammax !

I have also been really pleased with the impact on my face.

It has been weird that I haven't lost all that much weight (5-8lbs depending on the fluctuations) but it feels like it's had much more impact somehow than previous weight loss of that degree? I have lost from my face / double chin and tummy

zerofucksgivenever · 14/03/2025 11:26

I'm 2 weeks ahead of you guys. On 7.5mg now . The suppression is ridiculous. Forcing down when I can .....

sweetpickle2 · 14/03/2025 11:31

Finding suppression non existent at the moment, and the scales dont seem to be going down even though I am sticking to under 1500 cals a day! I'm away this weekend in Berlin, so sure I will be eating lots that I shouldn't- and next jab isn't till I'm back on Tuesday. Can't wait for 5mg!

mumalummum · 14/03/2025 12:01

Accidentally posted on the old thread
I’ve just taken my 6 th dose, and it’s my 6 th weigh in. I started on
7 Feb - 19 st 7lb
today - 6 weeks in 17st 13lb.
Goal - 13 stone
I’m 5ft4 and big boned so whilst it’s still
a high BMI that’s a maintainable weight for me , a size 16 - I have a lot of loose skin around my stomach which makes it hard for me to fit anything smaller .
i haven’t seen 17 stone anything since before getting long covid in 2022 so I’m really pleased,
mounjaro is helping my ADHD symptoms and I have no desire to drink wine which is great (wine and the wine munchies are the cause of my obesity, along with PCOS ) I developed type 2 diabetes in my 30s (I’m late 40s now).
It’s obviously been a fast weight loss so I’m sticking at 2.5 mg for as long as possible.
i don’t have lots of appetite suppression but I am making much better choices (the cost investment helps) and the weight loss is motivating. I think my current weight loss is mainly due to the insulin resistance's effects - rather than reducing calories as I’m eating the same calories as I was in January pre MJ with. I weight loss. I also have no desire to drink wine which is great.
whilst my appetite isn’t suppressed I’m also not getting any side effects so I’m happy with that and sticking to a low dose so I have somewhere to go if / when my loss stalls. I’m also resigned to being on weight loss drugs for life as I have insulin resistance (diagnosed at 20)

WelshRarebit18 · 14/03/2025 12:23

Just checking in. I’ve just finished week 6 and will be taking my second 5mg jab this evening.

SW: 13st
CW: 11st 7lbs
GW: Getting below 11st will be a major victory!

The appetite suppression has been pretty strong and I’ve had a bit of nausea but not too bad. Had a bad case of the runs midweek but thankfully just for one day. Hot water with some ginger slices settled my stomach almost immediately. Miracle!

I’m getting reminders to order my next pen and I’m probably going to stick to 5mg for another month as I’m anxious about side effects.

Well done everyone with their losses. 🙌🏻

WLINewbie · 14/03/2025 12:31

Week 4, Day 7 and definitely ready to go up a dose tomorrow! Depending on how much I get from the GD, I'll count clicks too if needed.

Been quite hungry past few days, nothing like before MJ but still peckish after meals. Saying that I'd lowered my cals a bit so I can have a nice treat at the weekend.

Pre MJ I could eat 5000 cals and still have hunger pains and crave chocolate :(.

Speaking of calories, I've always counted and I'm so glad to read some sensible comments on here recently. There's so many posts about eating 800 cals and sniffing an apple for breakfast that people reading will think that's normal. I feel lucky to have a good suppression though, can still eat any food but the constant sugar craving has dropped dramatically.

PurpleCoo · 14/03/2025 12:46

Just a heads up to anyone trying to use the hard twist method. It was going great but the plunger jammed just before getting the whole dose, so I think I have just slightly under a normal dose.

I am not too troubled by this as I have been getting decent effects from the introductory dose and plan on staying on 2.5mg next week, so there isn't a concern about getting a lower than usual dose before jumping to a higher dose, but for those planning on increasing the dose the following week, or who don't get strong effects it could be quite significant. I certainly won't be doing that again!

Ke11 · 14/03/2025 13:17

So being on 5mg is interesting for me, I feel like I have less suppression, until I go to eat, then after a small portion I feel very full, also I feel like I want sweets (nowhere near as much as before) but when I actually pick it up or go to eat it I almost feel sick, almost disgusted by the snack, as if my body is offended I would consume such rubbish lol.

Also I picked up a big bag of my favourite crisps on offer, Pipers Anglesey sea salt crisps. I'd never looked at the calories before and I was horrified, nearly 800 calories a bag! I would regularly have 2 to 5 bags a week before usually at the cinema alongside a bag of chocolate. I'm considering just throwing them in the bin unopened now, just the thought of them makes me feel a bit sick.

This is similar to me, I feel the hunger but literally a few mouthfuls and I'm full!

Why don't you pop the crisps into the collection points at the supermarket? Families in need would really benefit

stargazer02 · 14/03/2025 13:47

My suppression is well and truly gone, almost overnight, so there goes my worries that I should have stayed with a second 2.5.pen. Not going to take golden dose as otherwise due to take 5mg tonight (have been moving it gradually forward from Saturday night)

Ate some chocolate last night before bed after a stressful day. The same bar that's been in my cupboard for weeks and I'd not touched..was less than I'd normally have eaten, but I was so nauseous and gassy quite quickly. It was crap. But at least I know now it's a trigger and kept me motivated today despite a lot of food noise.
Also I had been struggling to track food. Tracked fairly carefully 3 days this week and I've def been eating far too little, but I thought it was a healthy appetite, but was maybe too vegetable heavy so not enough calories. Would possibly explain the tiredness I had put down to poor night's sleep due to an injury.

Everyothernamewasalreadyinuse · 14/03/2025 14:47

Afternoon All,

Just checking in. Am due to take my 7th Jab tonight - my 2nd 5mg. This week has been rough as have had a stinking cold, but seem to be on the mend (how have i gotten ill when i am about 70% vegetable is beyond me - i thought these were supposed to be healthy :) )

5mg is working well, suppression is good, but am finding it hard to eat full meals as feel full very quickly, so have been adding in a couple of snacks a day. Am eating mostly low carb as this has worked for me well before as i have PCOS so don't tolerate heavy carbs well.

Think the main thing i have noticed that has been interesting is that i have not really craved anything 'bad' like i am really enjoying clean eating, and the thought of greasy or oily food makes me feel sick.

So results so far -
SW - 247.8lb
week 1 - 235.7lb
week 2 - 232.6lb
week 4 - 230.1lb
week 6 - Did not weigh
Week 7 - 226.6lb
Week 8 - 221.3lb

26.5lb total loss - i did drop a massive amount of water weight the first week, as i have inflammation due to my immune condition.

Am going to try to add in some more calories with snacks to slow the weight loss down a bit and settle into a more long term routine, but happy with how it is going so far. Stomach definitely more sensitive. Had a few days constipation, which then decided to turn into urgent volcano poo in the middle of Sainsburys - Sodding typical. But have learnt smaller meals seem to help avoid this.

Hope everyone else is doing well, and looking forward to a successful weekend 😀

WelshRarebit18 · 14/03/2025 14:57

@Ke11 @ThatJoyousHazelDuck Similar to me too. It’s such a strange feeling of being full very quickly. I guess that’s the beauty of MJ.

FunnyCrabDance · 14/03/2025 16:07

Well done @xnotthemammax! What a difference, you look great!
Week 5 weigh in day, 4 x 2.5 and bonus dose of 3mg. Need to be brave and do the first 5 mg today.
Starting weight - 15 stone 8 lb
Current weight - 14 stone 10 lb, (an average of just under 2.5 lbs a week)

Since there was talk of calories the other day I'll also say that I'm having 1860 calories a day, which gives me lots of protein and fiber, so I feel good atm.

Well done everyone, love seeing peoples progress.

Thisshirtisonfire · 14/03/2025 17:02

I'm due my second dose of 2.5 in an hour and I'm anxious!
I've found it hard. The first day after injecting I was very ill. I've not been ill on other days except one instance of diarreah. However I've barely been able to eat. I've lost 9lbs in this week.
I need a bit of a pep talk to take the next dose.
I've been tracking calories but unlike in the past I've been doing this to make sure I get enough rather than to make sure I don't eat too much!
I'm thinking i should remain on 2.5 for another month after this one rather than go up to 5. I'd be worried I just won't be able to eat.

I'd like to hear anyone's advice about their second 2.5 jab? I know I'm a bit behind everyone on this thread.

I was very sick after my second and third 2.5mg jabs and realised that I’d eaten far too much the day of the dose and the day after. I was much better for my fourth jab as I made sure I didn’t eat too much that day. I find that I have to avoid certain foods at the moment too, anything that would normally make me feel bloated or gassy seems to be amplified when on MJ. Definitely having to stick to non-greasy, fatty foods.

Hope you feel better after your second jab.

Great idea, don't know why that didn't occur to me. There's one in my local sainsburys, I'll drop them off on my way to work on Monday 😁

Littlebitpsycho · 14/03/2025 17:16

Just done my second 5mg jab.

I'm really quite baffled with what's going on with my journey atm. First 3 weeks were crazy and I lost 1.5 stone, 4th week it somehow said I'd gained 4lb and even now I'm still 2lb higher than at the end of week 3!

What on earth is going on?!

I'm betting it's just water retention after such a large rapid loss. 1.5 stone in 3 weeks is a LOT. When fat cells empty quickly they will fill with water for a while before emptying, as I understand it.

Bodies be crazy is what it boils down to. If you're in a calorie deficit it's not gonna be fat gain, just water retention.

Things like constipation and increased exercise will also sometimes show a gain on the scales.

I'll say it again, taking measurements is important because it will show changes the scale can't!

Umthisisabitawkward · 14/03/2025 18:38

Weigh-in day for me, Wk4 day 1 on 2.5mg.

SW 12.9 stone
CW 12.4 stone

A 5lb loss over the last three weeks, I’m pretty happy with that as it seems like a sensible amount to lose each week, so I hopefully don’t end up with sagging skin. I haven’t had any major side effects so far apart from one middle-of-the-night dash to the loo which I haven’t been able to pin down to any food in particular. The food noise has been creeping in over the last part of last week, but been able to manage it. I’m still not 100% sure on whether I’m eating enough (trying to get 1200 calories in a day) but I guess we’ll see over the next few weeks. Moving up to 5mg next Friday. Hope everyone has a great weekend, and congratulations on all the losses and NSV’s!

DelightfullySoSo · 10/03/2025 19:16

I know this feeling. I do think sometimes a day of just letting looser a little bit is good - food affects moods too for sure. Today, I just wanted some damn toast (I've been drastically reducing bread and toast is my comfort go-to) and I felt infinitely better for it - still well within calories. I won't be having it every day like before MJ but it was nice to just have what I fancied. Hope the meh lifts soon.

I also saw a video with a Doctor who had been on MJ herself and lost alot and she felt having a higher cal day sometimes did your body good as it helps stop it slowing down your metabolism too much. Kindoff keeping yourr body on its toes by confusing it.

Hi
I’ve been watching this thread from afar, started in February and am abt a stone down. I had the first 5 mg dose last week but also had covid or some similar nasty and now wondering how much of feeling terrible was down to the medicine. I had to force myself to eat any thing at all.
So today I’ve taken the 2.5 mg dose and now wondering how to get up to five mags without having to take time out of work or things I enjoy.

I know someone else IRL who is a month ahead of me on MJ and she has stayed on 2.5 as it’s still working for her.
