Hello wonderful people!

Looking forward to hearing how we’re all getting on with your Mounjaro journey, and the general good chat!

I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Some sort of NSV's today- I like to try on a few bits from my wardrobe as I'm on my weight loss journey as I find that is sometimes a better indication of things than numbers on a scale.

A jumpsuit that I couldn't zip up at Christmas, it's still snug but I could wear it out if I wanted to (I would feel uncomfortable currently but I don't think anyone else would particularly notice), and a dress that I haven't worn for six months because it highlights my spare tyre too much actually looks good now.

Weight in day yesterday and I took 5th golden dose (I wasn't sure if I woukd but my next package didn't arrive until yesterday evening which was annoying and I didn't have any to take in morning expect the golden dose)
Starting weight 13 stone 5
Currentl weight 12 stone 2

I told my dh yesterday for first time. Like others I didn't think he would have any negative thoughts and in fact he knew why more about positives as he works in finance and had researched it when it came out (or the parent companies anyway)

Golden dose I used needles linked on here, same as ones we use. Had to really force the pen but it did move and there was no liquid left in pen so assume I've had it ok. 5mg has arrived now for next week.

I thought with the bonus dose you stuck the syringe into the pen and sucked the liquid out, so didn’t have to twist the pen? I’m due to do mine tomorrow so want to do it right!!

Great losses being posted, well done!

I am in my final week of 2.5mg. I still have food noise, in that I think about food constantly, but don’t fancy fatty or sugary things at all. My appetite is now much smaller.

One big change that I have noticed - I prepare my food and feel hungry. But I’m not compelled to immediately shovel it down. I have always noticed that DH didn’t tear into his food, although he would always finish it. It puzzled me. If you’re hungry, surely you eat quickly? Well no - non obese people don’t!

This drug is quite amazing.

Fair enough.
I wonder how you are calculating your calories through weights or measurements and what source you are using. For example some of the entries in MFP by users used to be really wrong. Nutracheck seems more accurate.

Are you exercising?

On MFP i try scan barcodes and enter my own information as much as possible for this reason. They need to clean up the system

Crunk · 06/03/2025 16:03

Ffs. Day 6 of week 4, anticipating a 5mg pen tomorrow and medexpress have emailed to say that my pen, prescribed last Monday, won’t be dispatched until next Monday at the earliest, with a 1-3 day delivery time after that! Meaning I’ll have 4+ days of nothing before jumping to 5mg.

what would you do? Go back to 2.5mg after the gap?

Does anyone else prescribe quickly to new starters?

Oh yay! Just love the wins like that!

I don’t have hardly any old clothes left in my wardrobe. Last year I sold pretty much everything that was too small for me on Vinted. Dammit!

Are you doing the bonus dose/5th dose? Will keep you going in between. Youll need separate syringe and look it up online how to do it. Ive not done it yet but sounds easy enough

Crunk · 06/03/2025 16:28

No plans to do a bonus dose no, and doubt I’d have syringes in time to do so (or would I?) can you recommend anywhere?

Crikey, the hunger and food noise today is insane (week 4, day 6), its the first time in 4 weeks I've really fancied eating absolute rubbish! I think it's shown me how extraordinary Mj is when its working well

Crunk · 06/03/2025 16:31

I’m definitely getting some noise, hence the frustration at the delay! Possibly a long weekend ahead 😬

Yep, 100% always double check the nutritional values and scan myself. Sooo many far too good to be true entries on MFP

Zibb · 06/03/2025 16:54

Fitbit and MFP have terrible databases, they never used to be this bad.

I hear good things about nutracheck and also cronometer so I think I'm going to switch.

WLINewbie · 06/03/2025 16:54

Oh I have hunger today, so odd after a few weeks without it. How have I put up with constant hunger all these years???

Have my dinner planned, going to make it a bit earlier and hopefully it'll suffice.

Regarding telling people, I'm always so open with everything yet I'm keeping quiet about mounjaro. Not sure why, well I am...

You can buy syringes in any pharmacy in person :)

Yes, I noticed that about myself too. I cut up an apple today at lunchtime and was then just very meh about actually eating it, like I could absolutely ignore it and do something else despite breakfast being 5 hours before.

I have a work thing tomorrow that promises food after the presentation where people walk round with trays and you take a small plate/bowl off it. Last year I was almost obsessed, thinking what is it, how many portions is normal, I'm still hungry etc etc. This time I've picked up a premade protein shake that I'll have before and probably not touch the food, and I'm OK with that, I don't feel like I'll be missing out at all.

Just a word of warning that my pharmacy wouldn't sell me needles- I think they thought I was going to take a different sort of drug with them. I must have looked particularly rough that day!

arealnewbie · 06/03/2025 17:51

W1D5- I was planning on only weighing myself once a week before each dose, but jumped on the scales this morning as I'm feeling good about positive changes to my body (I've joined a gym and doing a 6-week boot camp with 3 sessions of circuit training a week). Things going well, no real side effects, focusing on protein and eating healthy. Lost 5 lbs last week but now it looks as if I've put 2 lbs on ☹️. Anybody else experience this?

I can send you a link to a 30 day free trial for nutracheck if you want. I will PM it as the link is only valid for 1 person.

It puts me in a competition for a £100 voucher which is what it is - really not my goal here.

sc0ttishlass · 06/03/2025 18:32

@PerditionCatchMySoul For the golden dose if you have purchase long needles then you extract it via the end where the red part is.

Another way is by using thr same needles as come with the pen and just doing as normal. In some cases the pen won't trun any more but can be forced. I used link for those needles someone shared on here and did that way. I yhink people do both.

I had same issue that my provider ended up.delaying approval and postage so my 5mg wasn't going to be here till last night and I wanted to take yesterday am as I'm impatient and panicked about not having any!

Same here. W2D6 here, and even though I think the suppression lifted a bit yesterday and today, so I’ve felt a little more hungry, I’m just……..taking my time! I was always a bit of a shoveller (if the food’s there, it needs to be eaten ASAP!) and it’s been really interesting to see the difference in how I eat. And what I fancy eating! I’m losing relatively slowly compared to other people I think, only 3lb the first week and I reckon a pound or so this week (weigh in is tomorrow), but this feels really sustainable. I’m already kind of dreading stopping the injections (whenever that is) and all the food noise and sugary and salty food cravings coming roaring back :(

Nutricheck is the business. I do pay for the premium but it is not that expensive per month and so good, They use actual photos and verified foods. I have yet to find anything at all missing or confusing in their database and I like to SEE the food I am searching for. Highly recommend way above MFP.
