I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

So it would appear I have lost some weight off my fingers of all places 🤣 my engagement ring keeps falling off. I assume they must have been a little swollen with fluid before.

incognitomummy · 05/03/2025 23:34

Thread 3!! And week 3 for me!

Bit late recording it but on Monday I did my Jab a day early as I was going away

W3D1 (posted late actually D3 now).

SW. 78.5kg
CW: 75kgs
Total Loss: 3.5kgs
This week loss: 1kg
GW: 60-64kgs
MJ. 2.5.

I have STILL not mentioned it to my OH.

Mounjaroday · 05/03/2025 23:37

@Mounjaronewbie25 hope my fingers slim down too! Just realised I’ve not worn my wedding ring for a year because it became too tight. That would be cool to be able to wear it again, if I can remember where I put it. Had totally forgotten about it.

After staying the same last week, my final week on 2.5 and I've lost 1.5kg which I'm over the moon with. I've moved to a Thursday hoping my weekends are less likely to be impacted.

I've just taken my first 5mg and I'm nervous now 😬 😅

My only real issues have been sulphur burps (first 2 weeks only) and constipation, need to up my fibre this week.

I've always been active so just keeping that up and adding in park run to my weekly schedule. I exercise at least 4 days a week, usually I do something every day even if it's light and low impact. It definitely helps.

I've told a few people that I'm losing weight but not mentioned MJ, just said I've been eating less crap since January and they've commented that they've noticed 😊

0702 - 82.6kg
1402 - 80.3kg
2102 - 79.7kg
2802 - 79.7kg
0703 - 78.2kg
Total loss 2.5mg - 4.4kg

Here's praying 5mg is kind to me!

narkyspirit · 06/03/2025 07:42

Just beginning week 5 and 5mg pen, other than a little nauseaI have had no other side effects with the 2.5 pen. I didn't use the 'bonus' dose.
I have suffered with IBS for years, in the last month only a couple of IBS episodes so that's a bonus.

As for food I still eat the same food which was/is generaly fresh and healthy but quantity is way less and I'm skipping lunch most days due to not being hungry. I still have a sweet tooth but not buying sweet stuff other than fruit.

As for the weight/ height
height 161 cm ( sadly still the same😂)
SW 95.9 kg

Cw 91.2 KG

loss 4.7Kg less than some here, but an ok amount, interested to see if 5mg pen makes a difference.

Is this ALL you ate? If so it is unlikely to be nearly enough - especially as you're strength training and active. Your body needs to burn something to keep the fire going :) I was worried when you said should you eat less/fast; this has to be sustainable and you'll have some good weeks and some static weeks - think of the long haul hun x

Yes that was all I ate that day

It was a bit less than usual because it was the day after injection and my appetite was really reduced

But I am eating definitely within a calorie deficit - under 1500 every day and somehow am still not losing any weight at all!

I think I am literally the only person on this thread not to have lost a single pound in 4 weeks. I thought I had but my weight then bounced up again

Hangryfastjo · 06/03/2025 08:19

Check in day W4D2 I did my 4th jab yesterday, a day early. I'm shuffling round for a weekend in Manchester, but want to shuffle back to Thursdays in a couple of weeks

SW 14st .5lb
CW 13st 6.5lb

8lb lost in total.

Slightly disappointed, but at the start I thought 10lb per pen would be amazing so I have a week to get 2lb.

I am taking the golden dose next week and I'm going to do 3.75ml as my first dose from my 5ml pen the week after.

It's not just me googling how much 💩 weighs is it? 😁

In case it helps, ignore if not...

How are you measuring your food with tbsps or on scales? Also are you counting your macros? If so do the macros align with your calories?

0987654321q · 06/03/2025 08:28

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck your losses are excellent. Well done!

I should have also said apparently it's not unusual not to start to lose weight until you are on a higher dose. 2.5mg is just to get us used to the medicine. Maybe start a thread asking who else didn't start to lose until a higher dose? Some people may annoy you with unnecessary advice like I may have just done. Sorry if so!

sweetpickle2 · 06/03/2025 08:38

A cheeky mid week weigh in, and another kg down-

SW 102.8
CW 100
GW 89

Determined to get under 100 by next week (and never go back over ever again!!!!)

I don't feel like this applies when you do feel the effects of the medication as I do - I definitely have a strong response to the medication. Even on 2.5 I got good suppression

If it just didn't affect me, I would just be patient.

I also think if you look at the research, it doesn't really bear out the idea that most people don't lose weight in the first month - the average loss is 4% based on the studies.

sweetpickle2 · 06/03/2025 08:45

I assume you've worked out 1500 as your cutting calories @Febnewbie? When I've been certain lower weights (many moons ago!) I wouldn't have lost wight on 1500 cals a day.

If it is your cutting calories, then its the same as me, and I have to make sure I actually eat all 1500 or as close to- especially days I'm working out- otherwise it does seem to impact my losses.

Maro11 · 06/03/2025 08:55

First week completed and taken second jab this morning

Lost six pounds first week which I’m really happy with as I have not gone low carb.
I am trying to retrain myself and rid the old habits, I really want this to be the last time I have to lose weight.

Felt the worst yesterday which is strange but may not be MJ related at all, raging headache which has lingered to today, tired & cold.

Lets see what week 2 brings

Week one was lots of weeing!
No excercise as I do not have a regime
Mild suppression but willpower needed
Food noise quieter but not silenced

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 06/03/2025 09:39

@incognitomummy I've still not told my DP either 🤦‍♀️ it's not that I don't think he'll be supportive but he's one that has never suffered the food noise and enjoys exercising. I'm not sure he'd fully understand. He also hates taking any medication including paracetamol.

@Mounjaroday my dp knows I've been on a bit of mission since January to get more healthy options into us all. I've started making from scratch more and off the back of that I've said I'm now calorie counting too, which isn't a lie. I will tell him at some point. I'm waiting for the right moment I think. I've still not told anyone and I'm normally an over sharer 🤣🤣

Nsv for this morning, after battling the school run traffic this morning I was starving when I got back. I would usually got out toast in because I couldn't be bothered instead I made high protein blueberry pancakes ♥️

Habits are definitely changing 😀

0987654321q · 06/03/2025 09:44

Also not telling DH. He knows I'm losing weight. It's been a goal for the past year and I've done pretty well.

mandarindreams · 06/03/2025 10:04

Hello! Thought I'd pop in as a late arrival to the February threads, I started Mounjaro on 18th February (technically re-started, as I was taking it last summer but then ended up stopping for non-MJ related medical reasons). I'm finding the suppression less intense this time than last time but I kind of like that - I'm not struggling to eat enough to keep me going but I'm not constantly obsessing about food and I can stop when I've had enough, it feels like a good balance. I am struggling more this time round with gas and bloating so need to get on the peppermint capsules I think!

SW: 108.6kg
CW: 104.1kg

SW 90.1 kg
CW 87.5 kg

sc0ttishlass · 06/03/2025 12:53

Weight in day yesterday and I took 5th golden dose (I wasn't sure if I woukd but my next package didn't arrive until yesterday evening which was annoying and I didn't have any to take in morning expect the golden dose)
Starting weight 13 stone 5
Currentl weight 12 stone 2

I told my dh yesterday for first time. Like others I didn't think he would have any negative thoughts and in fact he knew why more about positives as he works in finance and had researched it when it came out (or the parent companies anyway)

Golden dose I used needles linked on here, same as ones we use. Had to really force the pen but it did move and there was no liquid left in pen so assume I've had it ok. 5mg has arrived now for next week.

Fair enough.
I wonder how you are calculating your calories through weights or measurements and what source you are using. For example some of the entries in MFP by users used to be really wrong. Nutracheck seems more accurate.

Are you exercising?

CallIpswichNow · 06/03/2025 12:58

I am a knob. Just did my second injection and without thinking, closed the sharps bin 😫 I’m going to have to order another and meanwhile, find a container for keeping my used needle from this week.

All good here otherwise. No side effects, and I’m eating much less. I probably need to start being mindful of protein the way others on the thread are doing.

Lol I don't google it but if the weight loss has been sluggish I mentally give myself a pound or 2 allowance lol
