I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

This is the first day in three weeks where I've felt really rough. I've been nauseous all day, very fatigued, and freezing cold. I've got two jumpers on, the heating on, and a blanket over my legs whilst my dc are playing out in shorts.

I had two sweet pancakes last night instead of proper food. I can't believe that has made me feel so awful. I've had some electrolytes and small amounts of food but that's all I can manage.

MissionToSize10 · 05/03/2025 17:40

What’s everyone eating to fill up on protein?

WelshRarebit18 · 05/03/2025 17:40

zerofucksgivenever · 05/03/2025 16:13

Holy fuckballs! My first 7.5mg dose yesterday.......if this is my suppression from now on I'll be a size 0 soon enough!
Feel like I have morning sickness and I'm so bloody cold !

Is it more noticeable than the jump from 2.5mg to 5mg? I’m really worried about nausea as I’m definitely susceptible to it. Still on 2.5mg on week 5!

I’m having Greek yoghurt and berries for breakfast, Fage full fat. It’s got quite a high protein value compared to others I think.

HappyPie82 · 05/03/2025 17:48

Definitely glad I’ve gone for 5mg for my next dose as I feel less suppression in the middle of W3 on 2.5mg.

bit nervous to way tomorrow as I’ve been working away and definitely been closer to 1500-1800cals than 1200 and lots of travelling.

can anyone link the insulin syringes. Thinking of getting the 5th dose out and taking a 2nd 2.5mg mid week w4 before the step up to 5mg as a kind of half step up

SansaClegane · 05/03/2025 18:14

Thanks for the replies, think I'll jump to the 5mg then on Friday - eek!
Had a sneaky mid-week weigh in and now a stone down, which is encouraging.
Will update again on Friday (which is my mounjaro day!)

WLINewbie · 05/03/2025 18:20

I've just ordered my 5mg pen after reading about some medexpress delays. It still says pending prescription but there's also a tracking link which takes me to Royal Mail which says they have my order.

Still have my 4th and bonus dose to take so plenty of time.

Enjoyed my pancakes yesterday, thick with fruit and chocolate. No side effects or anything. I have found tho I'm generally eating less than 1200 cals when I was aiming for 1500-1650. The suppression has got higher as times went on but the lower intake is affecting my strength training.

Febnewbie · 05/03/2025 07:00

I am definitely starting to get discouraged now.

This morning, I weighed in at back at my starting weight.

I have had pretty good appetite suppression throughout, I have eaten pretty healthy and lightly (one or two blips!), drunk much less alcohol.

Yesterday for example - I did 45 mins of strength training, 8000 steps, ate a bowl of vegetable soup, a banana and a portion of aubergine and feta casserole.

The only thing I can think to do is to eat even less, like do a couple of 24 fasts during the week?

Is this ALL you ate? If so it is unlikely to be nearly enough - especially as you're strength training and active. Your body needs to burn something to keep the fire going :) I was worried when you said should you eat less/fast; this has to be sustainable and you'll have some good weeks and some static weeks - think of the long haul hun x

zerofucksgivenever · 05/03/2025 18:37

@WelshRarebit18 I think it is a little but I'm also on day 2 of my period which is heavy and feels like my ovaries are bro g stabbed

ThursdaysMonkey · 05/03/2025 18:56

@Dozycuntlaters did the 5th dose come out OK? I have read that the pen jams but I'm hoping to use mine.

Dozycuntlaters · 05/03/2025 18:58

@ThursdaysMonkey I bought some insulin syringes and did it that way and it was absolutely fine. Certainly worth doing, saves a fair bit of money

DelightfullySoSo · 05/03/2025 19:04

Hmm, on W2D4 and not sure I'm getting much suppression and I have got that nagging hunger feeling most of the day (not ravenous or the low sugar descent where I'm gonna eat anything not nailed down).. but just that growly hungry feeling - all.blinking.day. (and at a work event where the food was lush...argh!).

From my research, this is a lovely hormone called ghrelin (gremlin??) and I was keen to stay on 2.5. My dilemma is; this is a struggle but at some point I need to learn to cope with The Gremlin and live my life. I know the advice tends to be to go up to 5 but wondering if I should give week 3 a shot and then decide?

If you have gone up to 5 - any regrets? Was the suppression/food noise better? MedEx are bordering on harassing me for a decision 😬

I bought these scales, they have an app as I want to monitor fat v muscle amounts to check I'm not losing muscle.

Ive now ordered, amazing reviews on Amazon

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 05/03/2025 19:21

@WLINewbie I've just done the same!

Ordered 5mg pen early in case of delays. I still have next week's dose and the gd (still not 100% sure I'm going to take) but did order some needles this morning, so i probably will.

Just need to hide it from dh 🤣

Hangryfastjo · 05/03/2025 19:27

Just had a really weird feeling. Had 4th jab this morning.
Was eating my tea, baked potato, cheese and coleslaw. I had eaten 3/4 of it and suddenly it felt like a brick had landed in my stomach, literally hitting my stomach and suddenly I was wayyyy too full. Now feel like I've eaten too much and feel sick 🤣🤣🤣🤣

TheYouYouAre · 04/03/2025 23:36

I’m about the start week 3. Have lost 6.5lbs in 2 weeks, so have decided to stick with the 2.5mg for my next order.

Been ordering through Farmeci (via Monj.co.uk comparison site), they price matched for my second order. Will probably jump to IQ Doctor if I go up to 5mg as they have good discounts for new and existing customers.

For those experiencing a week 3 plateau and increase in hunger, I think that’s quite typical for any diet / weight loss so don’t let it demotivate you!

Can I ask how you got them to price match?
I ordered my first pen through them but was planning on going elsewhere for the second. If they can price match then it would be much easier to stick with them for the next one!

I responded to one of their emails chasing me to order my next dose asking if they price matched, then they gave me the details of the info they needed in order to do so, which was a screenshot of another UK suppliers quote including postage costs. Was quick and easy.

What’s everyone eating to fill up on protein?

Keeping it fairly simple. Chicken, eggs, milk!

Just had the same feeling. Was eating a jacket spud with some braised red cabbage ( it was all I fancied) but I think I was eating too quickly because I had the exact same 'thud' in my stomach and I suddenly realised I'd eaten too much because it just felt dreadfully uncomfortable. And yet was probably half of what I would have eaten another time pre MJ.

I need to learn to eat slower!

What’s everyone eating to fill up on protein?

Lean chicken, bacon, egg, avocado, Greek yoghurt. Protein bagels from warburtons are pretty good. The odd Babybel.

I also use a raspberry flavoured protein powder in the morning which packs about 27g protein into a glass of water. I don't think I could meet my goals or get even close without that.

Bol protein soups are good, I've also found some salted caramel protein puddings/mousses which aren't bad flavour wise but I try and use them sparingly just because they seem to be very processed.

My current favourites are

Pea soup with shredded chicken - also good source of fibre.
Hard boiled eggs mixed with greek yoghurt, like a lower calorie egg mayo, on a protein bagel. Add a chicken or turkey sausage.
Lentil dhal with crispy tofu - another good source of fibre.

This is my problem, im just eating these three as my main sources too its all becoming the same old. I need some alternatives! 🤣 especially as i was talking to someone today who is super fit and healthy who told me to be careful as they had high cholesterol but this has since reduced since eating less eggs and less cows milk (now drinking soy milk).

How about pork tenderloin? Very lean and tasty with a stir-fry. Or fresh salmon steaks, good also for the Omega-3?

Prawns, low fat beef mince, lean beef cuts.

Or you could get creative with your chicken - I am having s fabulous Korean BBQ chicken with a little rice and charred broccoli regularly and love it.

aylis · 05/03/2025 22:16

I just realised I haven't taken any Nexium in over a week, just the odd Gaviscon tablet, which is really incredible for me. I also haven't really had brain fog.

I just hope we don't find out down the line that everyone that took mounjaro turns into frogs because so far it's mostly positives for me 😅

PurpleCoo · 05/03/2025 22:51

I'm glad people are discussing increasing the dose. Is anyone staying on 2.5? I am W3D6 and I really wouldn't want my appetite to be any less. I am hungry at meal times, but not eating large portions. I sometimes eat snack such as fruit or nuts just because I know I haven't eaten many calories and need nutrients. I have had no nasty side effects and I don't feel bad eating, indeed, I enjoy my food when I eat.

Also a bit scared of increasing the dose and getting sickness and diarrhea when I am away in my motorhome for a 10 day holiday. That would be hell!

I have ordered the 5mg pen, and figured if it's all as it is now, I will do two more weeks of 2.5 to take me through my holiday. If it stops working I will go to 3.75. Either way, this should allow me to get 5 doses out of the pen without the need to use syringes.

Regarding protein I had a whole (medium) sea bass for dinner tonight, it was lovely. I make a lot of lentil based lunches, such as lentil and red pepper chilli, that I just have without rice, also made a nice sweet potato, cauliflower and spinach dhal, which is only about 200cals per portion but high in protein. Also spiced carrot and lentil soup, butternut squash and lentil soup. I batch cook and freeze in single portions, then just heat up in the microwave whether I am WFH or out and about working

Breakfast is usually far free Greek yoghurt with fruit and high protein granola or homemade peanut butter over it oats, which has things like chia seeds in the recipe too.
