I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Wondering how everyone got on with pancake day?
I have 3 dc so it's a definite event in my house and the first time since starting mj three weeks ago that I've had any significant sugar.

I had two pancakes with fruit and a bit of Nutella. I was quite full and stopped after that and felt happy because normally I would have had twice as much. Felt ok, but then woke up at 5 am feeling like I needed to be sick. I managed to avoid it, but only just. All I've had this morning is a glass of ice water. Can't even face a cup of tea. Pancakes were probably not worth it.

Pancake day was conveniently timed for me - day before injection day. Had 1 pancake with a bit of chocolate and ice cream and felt fine. But tbh on 2.5mg I’ve found the only days I need to be careful about what I eat to avoid feeling too full or mildly nauseous are the first 2 after injection day.

Weird side note, but I’m getting fed lots of FB ads about Mounjaro, plus a few clickbaity news articles post The Oscars about “Hollywood’s ozempic craze” and the comments really make you realise how misunderstood people’s conceptions of what GLP1 is and does. 2 weeks into starting Mounjaro and I have learnt that it’s definitely not the “lazy way to lose weight” or some sort of magic pill for weight loss - you absolutely still have to maintain a calorie deficit and keep up good lifestyle and exercise habits to see results, just like any other diet or weight loss program.

Feb2025start · 05/03/2025 09:39

@Febnewbie as @Zibb said, weight loss isn't linear - I had losses in weeks 1 and 2 that were pretty huge (unsustainably so, even allowing for water weight etc) and since then barely any movement. Week 3 I put weight on! But I can see the loss of flab/bloat (particularly in my face and stomach) and feel generally lighter/fitter so I'm happy with that tbh.

I would definitely persevere - especially as you're exercising more so may be building muscle mass (that's what I attributed my week 3 gain to, although in reality I have no idea how quickly that makes a difference 😬). You could very well be due a big loss very soon as your body adapts to the lower calories/increased exercise etc!

Odd question. Does anyone feel like they can taste the mounjaro as soon as they inject? Or maybe I'm going mad :)

Yes! Well, something leaves an odd taste...

Hi guys

Quick question about dosing, after reading quite a few negative comments here about moving up to 5mg...!
I'm in my 4th week now, so Friday is my injection day / 5th injection. I've ordered my 5mg pen which is already in the fridge. Is it advisable to start off with 3.75 though (counting clicks) to avoid side effects?

When I started, I did have nausea the first weeks, sometimes so bad I thought I needed to vomit, although I never did. Would rather avoid feeling like that again!
Or do you reckon it makes no odds and just move up to 5 straight away?

Don't know if it will help but I'm 2 days into my first 5mg dose, went straight up after 4 weeks of 2.5mg and I've not had many side effects at all.

From everything I've read, 2.5 is just a starter dose to get your body used to the medication, 5 is the first "proper" dose where they expect you to start losing weight

flipflop76 · 05/03/2025 11:28

I started last weds so I've done my first full week and lost 5lbs! I've definitely still had an appetite and eaten chocolate and crisps but just not as much and I get fuller quicker.

SW 17st
CW 16 st 9

I've never seen any weight loss for years!

Housewife2010 · 05/03/2025 11:52

I've just done my first bonus dose - week 5 - and it was so easy. Thank you to whoever linked the syringes earlier in the thread. I got 6.5 ml out, so just a tiny bit more than my 2.5 dose. I have next week's 5 dose waiting (hidden) in the fridge.

HoratioBum · 05/03/2025 13:23

I'm also trying to weigh daily to keep myself accountable and hope that I can see a downward trend.

Thankfully I lost a pound since yesterday, which I was pleased about as I'd plateaued for the last 4 or so days and it is disheartening, even though I know I'm in a deficit and the MJ is working in the background.

I've started having a morning coffee ( I hate coffee!) to get 'things moving' and that has worked for the last couple of days. I'm struggling to get enough fibre in me as all my calories seem to be taken up with protein! I'm certainly drinking enough water - forever going for a pee at work, so I might need something else - has anyone had any success with psyllium husks or similar?

ExplodingCarrots · 05/03/2025 13:53

2.4lbs off for me this week . Very happy about that . Wasn't expecting much because of struggling with constipation.
@HoratioBum I've been taking psyllium husk daily as well as fybogel and consciously upping my fibre . I finally went yesterday and today and going to continue doing what I'm doing and hope it makes me more regular because it was making me so uncomfortable. I've added flax seeds and chia seeds to my porridge / weetabix . I've also bought some kiwis as it was recommended here . My fluid in take is spot on . About to take my first 5mg jab so praying it don't make it worse .

SW - 190lbs
CW - 181.2lbs
Total loss - 9lbs

HoratioBum · 05/03/2025 13:55

Brilliant thanks for that @ExplodingCarrots. I think I've got chia seeds at home, might try adding them to yoghurt in the morning. Will add Psyllium husks to my ever expanding supplement cupboard!

buffyangel · 05/03/2025 14:04

Does anyone know of any protien drinks or powders that taste nice?

MrsPepperpot79 · 05/03/2025 14:15

Week 3, day one here and going ok!
SW was 89.45kg
CW is 85.3kg
GW something around 70kg
So a total loss in two weeks of 4kg or 9lbs which is great, if probably likely to slow right down! And, have hit being merely overweight rather than obese which feels like a huge step. Like others though, am struggling to get the fibre and protein in.

Try the clear protein powder that's fruit flavoured! From myprotein. I can't get on with the chocolate and milky ones.

Warmautumnbreeze · 05/03/2025 14:36

I'm on W2 D2. I lost 4.5lbs in my first week which I'm quite happy with. Part of me was disappointed as I've lost up to 7lb in a week on other diets, but I'm hopeful that a slower loss will mean it's more sustainable??

I found the last 2 days before my second injection quite difficult. I felt very tired, hungry and had a headache. I'm going to move my jab day to a Friday night night/ Saturday morning (from Monday night) as weekends I have more time to sit and ruminate about food! So I think that impacted on my hunger as I got closer to jab day. At least if I'm working on those last couple of days I'll have something to take my mind off the hunger and weekends will be easier.

Mounjaroday · 05/03/2025 15:16

DH just pointed out that the calculator on my iPhone can convert KGs into Stones / Pounds. Did not know that!

Mounjaronewbie25 · 05/03/2025 15:29

@Mounjaroday Did not know that either! I’ll have to check that out. I’m forever googling kg to pound conversions lol.

Same I like the orange clear whey isolate takes like juice. Cant cope with the milk based ones but I actually enjoy this one.

Constipation went away after week 1 but I feel full of gas at this week Blush

zerofucksgivenever · 05/03/2025 16:13

Holy fuckballs! My first 7.5mg dose yesterday.......if this is my suppression from now on I'll be a size 0 soon enough!
Feel like I have morning sickness and I'm so bloody cold !

buffyangel · 05/03/2025 16:33

I got weighing scales with the Juniper Mounjaro kit. I tap the scales with my foot till they read 0.00 then stand on and read my weight. They show correct weight then almost immediately they flash and read ERR. Is that normal?

billysboy · 05/03/2025 16:56

Just checking in with everyone , have my 5mg pen on its way for the weekend

Hangryfastjo · 05/03/2025 17:00

Okay, I've stopped scrolling on instagram like I used to, but also noticed when I do I'm not interacting anything like I used to with food accounts. Think cake, sweet desserts and sugar overdose.
I'm just thinking how much I must have been triggering myself 🤣

Backgroundnoises · 05/03/2025 17:01

FatBottomGirlz · 05/03/2025 16:52

I bought these scales, they have an app as I want to monitor fat v muscle amounts to check I'm not losing muscle.
https://amzn.eu/d/hRNtmez

These are the scales I use and I can recommend them too. They also link to my Fitbit app and record my weight there.

Umthisisabitawkward · 05/03/2025 17:05

I swear I can taste it almost immediately too! I inject in my stomach which is supposed to be the fastest absorption isn’t it - maybe that’s why.

I popped into Morrisons the other day for a couple of things. Normally I’d enjoy searching the aisles for “treats” for later. Chocolate, cake, crisps. No interest whatsoever….Was the weirdest experience. I wonder if junk food sales are going to tank as a result of these jabs and what weird and wonderful new ways manufacturers will come up with to screw with/ pollute the food supply to keep up their profits?
