Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

First weigh in today and I've lost 3lbs. Happy with that. Not been snacking like normal and just don't fancy my usual treats. Have eaten healthier options too. Haven't gone off wine though 😂

@TryingMJ I saw a tik tok that said you shouldn't weigh the same day you jab. Your suppression gets less closer to your jab day so your calorie intake is likely to be higher. So for example if you jab on Sunday you weigh on a Wednesday? I only jabbed on Tuesday so have held off the urge to weigh. Although ordered new scales and stood on them to link to my phone but didn't like what it said 🤣 (no loss) so ignoring it😝

TheRealTiger · 08/03/2025 09:14

Hi everyone! I started my MJ journey on Wednesday after finally plucking up the courage. I’ve only told my husband. I’ve had some nausea since I started and a horrible headache which is only easing now. I suffer from hormonal headaches at certain times of the month so I’m hoping it’s just that and not something that I’ll have to endure the whole time of taking MJ. Anybody had similar side effects? I know they are meant to settle down but I’m worried that each time I jab (even at the same dose) I’ll get side effects.

SW: 16.3
GW: not sure yet but a few stone would be fabulous!

GameOfJones · 08/03/2025 09:19

So I've just done my first jab as I couldn't wait any longer! I was feeling so nervous about it and really worked myself up but it was totally fine. An anti-climax really. I set everything up on the bathroom counter and watched a video on how to administer it and just gave myself some peace and quiet as I was anxious but there really was no need at all. It was painless and straightforward.

Sorry for the people feeling disheartened. It is why I prefer to weigh weekly as I can't cope with the daily fluctuations but then with a weekly weigh in you can't see the average pattern over the week so I suppose there are pros and cons to both!

MrsMariaReynolds · 08/03/2025 09:46

@TryingMj Don't sweat it. Celebrate🎉 your week's loss and don't let a day's fluctuation get into your head. There's no way you could have gained a pound+ of fat overnight. Exercise does weird things to our bodies. 😊 The blip probably was post exercise inflammation.

MrsMariaReynolds · 08/03/2025 09:49

Well done, @GameofJones. It's no Biggie, isn't it? I sat there shaking before my first dose, rewatching all these how-to videos on TikTok before I plucked up the courage to jab. Sooo anti climactic 😂

WithTheFairies · 08/03/2025 10:11

Well after no side effects on week one, week two has been harder. I've had diarrhoea yesterday (wk2 day 3) and today (day 4). Ugh! Hoping it settles down.

On the plus side, I've now lost 5kg since the 25th Feb.

Beachy77 · 08/03/2025 10:34

Good morning, Happy to report that after taking my first jab last night, I’m not feeling as awful as I feared. I’m very bloated and tired and had strange metallic taste in my mouth last night but apart from that ok.

Only had half my usual breakfast but that feels more due to bloating and a bit of reflux (worse than usual since the jab). Really enjoyed it though.

I weighed myself this morning but will stick to my usual Monday morning going forward as a friend and I started weight watchers together and that is our shared day to check in. I’m following their glp1 plan now as calories can mess with my head a little.

hope everyone else who started last night is doing ok.

I’m using weight watchers as well, finding it helpful as I could easily just not eat. I felt awful yesterday and realised it was because I hadn’t eaten enough. Once I had some dinner I felt better.

it’s odd. I’ve never had to remind myself to eat before.

That’s good to hear. I can’t imagine forgetting to eat at the moment 😊

my sister has had great success using injections and she noticed that she felt rubbish but still not hungry so she has a protein shake instead of a meal if she can’t face it. I’m lactose intolerant so I think I would have to make my own if I was to try them.

MamaNewtNewt · 08/03/2025 10:51

Second jab last night and no side effects so far. I wasn't able to finish my breakfast that I have been happily chomping down for the past few days so appetite suppression is back.

I went with ASDA as MedExpress wouldn't supply me as I've had my gallbladder out but I think I need to find a cheaper option going forward.

Also very excited to get my new eufy scales today, which apparently record all kinds of data.

LennyLooo · 08/03/2025 10:55

Hi everyone. I've started Mounjaro today. I currently weigh 88.9kg and hope to get down to 65kg, ideally before I turn 50 in July. Happy to join this group!

soupforbrains · 08/03/2025 11:09

Welcome all newcomers.

I just did my weigh in and jab.

SW 19st10
CW 19st4 (end of week1)
GW 12st

So for me week 1 has been turbulent. The first 48 hours after jabbing including constant sulphur burps and then 18 hours of violent vomiting so it wasn't a great start and I have to say I was terrified that it woukd continue that way. Thankfully things settled down. I have felt HUGE appetite suppression I've only felt hungry once maybe twice the whole week. I realised I was just forgetting to eat at all so now have started some routines to help.

And ultimately I've lost 6lb this week! Which I'm obviously thrilled with. On to week 2!

It will be even easier to forget to eat this week because I've packed DS off on a school trip to Greece last night so it's just me and the dog in the house for the week.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Justformounjaro · 08/03/2025 11:38

Well, my Friday night splurge night had the effect I expected on my weight with a 1/2 pound put back on since yesterday morning's weigh in. And although I ate the peanuts (less than normal though), drank the wine, and had the Chinese, it didn't have the same enjoyment as normal. I don't know if it was the taste, or the mouth feel but it was fuel rather than a treat. Thankfully, no side effects.

Someone mentioned about not weighing on jab day (I've tried to find the comment again but thank you whoever it was) and although I weigh every day I'm dieting, I only record once a week on a Monday so I think I'm going to stick with Saturday night jabs and Monday official recording day.

However, just for the record for the first week.

SW: 15.0
CW: 14.10.9

Yesterday I was at 14.10.4. I appreciate the weight gain could just be a big poo from the extra food 💩 😀

dancemom · 08/03/2025 11:49

Day 7 here and suppression is lifting slightly. I'm still not hungry but I'm going out for lunch and found myself thinking about the menu. Can't complain though cos that's the first food thought since the jab 🤷🏻‍♀️

Weigh and jab day tomorrow

That’s helpful, I’ve been thinking about a smoothie for lunch, it might be the answer.

MrsAlwaysRight · 08/03/2025 12:46

Ugh think I've just cocked up 2nd jab. Put it in and injected but couldn't see window so twisted it round to make sure it was on 0 and removed. Then noticed it was wet all around injection site. Hope I've managed to at least get some in 🤦‍♀️

Overjiggly · 08/03/2025 13:06

@MamaNewtNewt I've had my gallbladder out I went with Oushk they might be cheaper for you.

2nd day after jab, not many side effects burping a lot but not sulphur burps thank goodness. Not a lot of suppression, definitely more today than yesterday but it has helped reduce snacking so I'm pleased about that.

Same here and also on day 7. Husband did pizzas for lunch and I happily ate half. I did stop at half tho…

MamaNewtNewt · 08/03/2025 14:40

Thanks @Overjiggly I've just ordered from there.

TotallyFloored · 08/03/2025 14:44

I’ve.started this week (19 st 4 😢) but hopefully going down to 10. No real side effects so far other than feeling full and bloated. Only took the jab Thursday though so we’ll see.

I did have one question - does this essentially work by killing your desire for food so you’re just eating less. Or does it do anything to speed up metabolism, burn fat etc ?

Its so annoying. I did the same on the first week so you are not alone. You just have to hope the placebo effect works!

Overhaul54 · 08/03/2025 16:32

Got my invite to sign up for the next month of jabs ( still have 2 weeks left).

They say I should go up to 5ml but I am concerned about side effects. I have had some suppression but not as much as I was expecting. Not sure what to do.

I think it depends on how much you’ve lost as well. Have you lost much on the 2.5 as yet? X

Kills your desire for food and also food is longer in the gut I think?!
