Body shape different to regular dieting

I have several friends and a DP on MJ and all are doing very well as expected. What is very interesting is they all seem to be slimming down in ways they never did in previous diets such as SW, WW, 5:2 etc, the shape of the bodies seems to be going >>>>0<<<< rather than bits going from here and there.

It’s almost like they’re regrowing as thin people, all over. Is this being noticed by others?

It reduces inflammation and increases metabolism so often will change into an hourglass shape as fat is lost on the waist as well as everywhere else.

>>>>0<<<<

im sorry what does this mean?

diian · 09/02/2025 15:01

I have slim legs. My legs have always been like tree trunks even when I was slimmer. I have lost weight from everywhere.

Zusammengebrochen · 09/02/2025 15:02

I think the typical weight loss injection shape is very recognisable, it looks almost like the beginning of muscle atrophy imho.

Yeh I think this is for those who have fast weight loss which results in muscle loss. I'm just over 1lb a week so I've not experienced this and get told I "look healthy" a lot. I'm now bmi 28.8 size 12

Controlled weight loss will always be more sustainable. Good luck.

I have no experience of weight loss injections but this is really interesting. Speedy loss causing muscle wastage and decreased inflammation resulting in an hourglass figure are very different interpretations of what’s happening!

thats not the injections, that’s anyone who loses a lot of weight, doesn’t eat enough protein and doesn’t exercise. I guess it is just you’re looking at images of people who have lost a lot of weight on injections to think it’s that.

I’ve seen a few images from people in social media who have prioritised the number on the scales but you can see very clearly they’ve lost a lot of muscle . You also see it in images of those who lost a lot of weight on slimming world etc.

as said, it’s not the drugs, it is people who don’t understand macros , nutrition and the importance of exercise. Particularly resistance and strength or do and don’t bother,. You can see the flat bums, sagging tum, droopy face.

personally I eat my protein, I exercise most days, lose about 2 lbs a week and as a result don’t have this issue.

I realise that any form of weight loss can cause muscle atrophy when not properly managed, however it appears that quite a few injectors don't follow advice regarding healthy weight loss.

Gettingslimmer · 09/02/2025 15:24

Op, sorry to answer, my shape is different, as the inflammation and bloating has gone, even as a size ten I had a round stomach, never flat.

Now it is flat, even though I’m a 12, and not yet at goal and a layer of fat round my middle, it is now flat, straight up and down, if that makes sense, as the inflammation and bloating has gone.

so I have lost all over, but my stomach is the most difference to how it’s ever been, but that is due to insulin now being under control and reduced cortisol I think,

Yes, of course as do quite a lot of people on slimming world or weight watchers etc. it isn’t specific to people using drugs. Ss the drugs don’t cause it, and there is no type of person who uses them,

I didn't say it was specific to weight loss drugs but in my experience it's more prevalent.

Ok I’m guessing the “in my opinion” means you’ve nothing to back this up;/ or would you like to some evidence that shows people who use injections are bizzarely less likely to exercise and eat enough protein v other diets/?

as quite frankly, it seems like nonsense, but I’m happy to be corrected. Post your links.

I'm clearly not going to photographs of actual people.
Just accept that your view isn't the only one.

My view is based on fact. Yours is opinions.

it is utterly ludicrous to argue that your opinion differs from fact so folks should accept it.

Let's leave it there because you seem unable to accept different valid comments.
Best of luck with your weight loss journey, if you're on one. 😬

@Zusammengebrochen We get what you're saying don't worry, the other poster is obviously defensive about jabs.

This
Those who are have simply stopped eating but have not prioritised protein , fats and strength training are the ones who look saggy and unwell .
My mother is on the weight loss injections . She looks very toned and well .
I pay for a personal trainer for her who focuses on retaining and building muscle .
I also encouraged her to try some Callanetics and Pilates .
My mother is in her seventies but looks fifteen years younger . She still has her arse which she didn’t want to lose

Your mum is clearly taking an 'overall' approach and I wish her well going forward. 😬

Because factually it is for all diets, it is simply if people do not eat enough protein and exercise enough. There is no way round this, and it is not I am defensive of the drugs, which is equally laughable considering I specifically stated yes this happens with people on the drugs.

Again, I didn't say this is only the case with weight loss injections but it definitely appears to be more prevalent.
You are coming across as very defensive - there's no need to be. Nobody is criticising use of the drugs per se, just as we don't criticise other weight loss methods, and we all agree (you included, from your posts) that an overall and consistent/long-term approach is the nost realistic way forward.

I’ve done weights training 5 days a week since I started on MJ and prioritised proteins and my loss has definitely been balanced. I still have more belly fat but that’s because that was the biggest part of my body when I started the jabs. I’ve been focusing now on exercises that help with the abs as well as still weight training. I know I’m saying so myself but I feel so good with how I look now. Not stopping with the weights either

Yep, an overall approach is best
Well done so far.

And you’re coming across like you’re resentful of the drugs. We can all read something that’s not there.

I won’t back down, you feel people who use the drugs are more likely to not exercise or eat enough protein, for some reason you can’t back up. I factually know people who undertake a weight loss diet can do this, any weight loss diet and there is no evidence to suggest the type of person to use drugs is more likely to not eat enough protein and exercise as you repeatedly claim.

and quite frankly if you and the other poster want to think this makes me defensive, then colour me defensive and I shall colour you resentful.
