@BlueLimes Thinking about it, I don’t think moving it back one day will have any negative impact. Closer to the weekend was a benefit but I’d hope to still have good suppression.

I jab on a Friday morning usually and went out at the weekend and had curry and a couple of (small) glasses of wine. Didn't notice any side effects from this really. I'm only on 2.5 at the moment.
interestingly even after the glasses of wine, there were lots of crisps out on the table being shared but I still wasn't tempted to have one. I'm normally a crisp fiend but it didn't even occur to me to dig in.

Jins · 19/02/2025 13:48

Oushk have replied. Impressively quickly! They confirmed they don’t have a rigid cut off as BMI’s can look different on everyone and said it’s something to discuss when nearing goal.

So based on that I’ll be changing. I think I’ll use my medexpress credit on heartburn meds 😆

MananaMananaPenelope · 19/02/2025 13:57

@Jins I think they’re great. Very responsive. When I was unwell I rang the advice line, spoke to someone who was very helpful, he arranged for a pharmacist to call me. Really reassuring, said they’d like me to check in after my next injection, all the time I needed. I think that’s worth a lot.

That’s why I haven’t shopped around really I guess, both ease of ordering and that support.

I injected a day early this week to adjust my day. Planning on sticking to Monday morning now.

Jins · 19/02/2025 14:11

I don’t mind shopping around but now I’m under 27 BMI I think I need to find one that will help me maintain (even though that’s at least 25lbs) away. I think if they’ve got a record of your history it helps.

Hi Shadow and welcome to the thread!

2 separate people in the office today commented that I've lost weight. I weigh once per week so quite curious if the scale has indeed moved this week.

MananaMananaPenelope · 19/02/2025 18:21

Hi 👋 @Shadowfein . I hope you find this lovely thread as supportive as I do. I rarely post elsewhere tbh.

I’m having a piece of fish and the other half of the gastro pub greens for dinner. I’m trying to stick to 7000 cals a week and will end up under for a few days this week to allow for my trip.

I’ve got no idea what my dinner tomorrow will add up to, but life includes celebrating now and then doesn’t it so I’m not going to worry about it too much. Japanese food so hopefully not too unhealthy. Bonus, one fewer course than I thought, but I am slightly worried I won’t be able to eat a respectable amount of food in front of DCs.

Thiscouldbefun · 19/02/2025 22:17

My losses haven’t seemed to amount to much since I started - looking like 7lb in 4 weeks which I appreciate is slow and steady but my suppression has really been poor after day 2 after injection. I’m struggling to keep to 1600 calories per day.

Quite nervous about moving to 5mg. Any one made the change and have tips please?

I am halfway through my first week on 5 and so far, I can’t say with any certainty that I’ve had any side effects - so I don’t think it’s a given. I didn’t have any on 2.5 either though, so maybe if you suffered then, you might want to be cautious.

7lbs sounds great from where I am (2lbs). I’ve had moderate suppression but no change to food noise and - as you’ll have seen - no kick start to weight loss. Good luck!

mince3point14159265 · 19/02/2025 23:48

@0ncemorewithfee1ing sorry you're having such poor luck with losing on the scales. How are you feeling in other ways? Are your clothes feeling any looser or any movement on the tape measure?
Years ago doing WW with my DM, she would always find it would take her the best part of 2 months before she started losing, but it did eventually work. Think she only kept going to keep me company, but sticking with it eventually paid off.
So long as it's not making you feel rubbish with side effects, I'm sure you will get there, just may take getting up to higher levels to see results. 🤞

Hi @Shadowfein and welcome to the January Losers Club! It will be interesting to see how your experience on Wegovy compares to MJ.
Hope you don't have any repeat of the upset stomach; have you looked at what you ate in the previous 24hrs to see if anything could have triggered it?

Gosh. Lots of chat, that I'm just about keeping up with! I'm away at the moment - in a country which loves all the food. Twice today someone has commented on how little I'm eating - and tonight's comment asked me if I was on mounjaro. It totally shocked me, as I didn't know how to react. Note this is a work trip, with colleagues - so not friends as such.

My response was that I might be in a joking manner - but thinking on it. I've been very conscious of what I'm eating while making easy decisions to eat less - but still feeling like I'm eating more. And every night when I've calculated roughly my calories I've been amazed that I've kept within my sensible amount.

Bit shocked that it's so noticeable how little I'm eating - I felt I was trying everything. But after 3 courses was unable to stomach any more...

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/02/2025 05:57

Someone sent me a link to this last night. Apparently it is scarily accurate. As a 🐢 I hope it is. December ish for me to reach 70kg. It’s a weight loss predictor for anyone who doesn’t just want to click on a link, appropriately named ‘losertown’.

ETA - December with only ‘light exercise’. I guess I could change that bit if I wanted to.

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/02/2025 06:00

@Thelittlestranger , wow, I would have been taken aback 😳. It sounds like you managed it well. Well done on keeping your calories in the right sort of place, it’s very tricky eating out a lot.

Focussingonme · 20/02/2025 06:30

Hi everyone,

I'm now on W7 D5, I stayed on the 2.5mg and need to decide what to do for the next pen which I'll order on Monday after my last jab.

I'm getting decent suppression but this has been an unusual 3 weeks with a break away, a week unwell and now half term so very much out of my routines, eating out more etc. I don't want to increase unnecessarily and I am still losing weight so thinking I should stay where I am (zero side effects too) but worried I'll regret not increasing to 5mg.

Is anyone else sticking to 2.5mg for pen 3?

SW: 94.6 kgs
CW: 85 kgs

HeavyHeidi · 20/02/2025 07:30

Manana, thanks for the link!
I lost 1.1 kilos last week. Was hoping for a bit more, but seeing the numbers it really puts in perspective that even with this moderate loss, I will be in a very reasonable weight in not so distant future.

Focussingonme I can't decide either, just finishing my 1st pen. Definitely had more appetite last night, so maybe need more. But there is still supression and I also enjoy not having any side effects. Maybe will increase a little, to 3 something.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 20/02/2025 07:33

@Focussingonme Depending who your pharmacy is, a lot of them do the 2.5mg and 5mg pens for the same price.
You could always get a 5mg pen, and count 30 clicks to give a 2.5mg dose. Then if you feel you need to go up at any point you already have the option rather than having to order a new pen.

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/02/2025 07:37

@HeavyHeidi , I went down a rabbit hole with my morning ☕️ and found another one that looks more scientific.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 20/02/2025 07:46

Very glad I didn't go up to 5mg yesterday, I've suffered in the night on 4.3. Really crazy burps and wind, and nausea. I feel like a balloon this morning. I'm obviously really susceptible to the side effects on all doses.

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/02/2025 07:46

I’ve bought another 2.5mg pen. I think I’m planning 2 weeks at 2.5mg and then all being well 2 weeks at 3.75mg. That will finish that pen.

After that moving up to 5mg if I’m tolerating it well. Have also bought a 5mg pen. I think there’s about £14 difference between 2.5mg and 5mg pens at Ouskh so not a huge deal.

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/02/2025 07:48

Poor you @UnderandOverwhelmed . I think it was @myladyjane who recommended peptobismal. She was ahead of the curve, Ouskh are now selling/recommending it so could be worth a go if you think you need anything to help.

Snoopibird · 20/02/2025 08:03

I'm on week 5 at 2.5mg. I think i will finish this month and not go any further. I literally can't eat more than a few mouthfuls of anything and nausea hasn't worn off.

I have lost 10kgs and it feels like it's melting off, yay! BUT!!! I literally can't eat and am basically starving myself, which means I will probably put it back on. I can't exercise as I feel sick and can't eat anyway so don't want to make myself more ill.

I'm hoping when I stop I will get my appetite back. Be able to eat small healthy portions then exercise again

mince3point14159265 · 20/02/2025 08:12

@Thelittlestranger it sounds like that person has either been using MJ or someone very close to them has, to be so specific. Did they say it front of everyone or more privately?
Well done for keeping within your calories.

@MananaMananaPenelope thanks for that link! Spotted a major flaw with it though; just have to self declare that I am a man and I'll reach my target much quicker! 🤣

@Snoopibird have you spoken to your provider about anything that could help with the nausea? So sorry you're feeling so rough 😢
