@2025istheyeari lucky you, we love Iceland.

What about those triangular oat cakes? We like roasted chickpeas here and you could put them in a zip lock bag, but I have never been able to keep them where they don’t go a bit tacky the next day. Popcorn kernels won’t take much room if you can cook them on a ring/dry pan with a lid. Naked bars.

None of which are tip top nutritional choices but they might keep you out of Sandholt’s.

Will you have a car?

HelpMebeok · 15/02/2025 08:38

My third weigh in and lost 2lbs so that's my first stone off. Really pleased and will do my fourth jab today. Ive ordered the 5ml pen. I've had no symptoms this week which has been lovely.

discoballv · 15/02/2025 08:42

I'm on W4 D4 and my weight had been fluctuating up and down the same 4lbs for 2 weeks, which I didn't expect to happen so soon. I am really pleased that they are finally moving downwards again, and I am at my lowest ever adult weight right now.

I started at 12st 2 a few days before my first jab and now I am 11st 5. The lightest I've been was 11st 7 about 5 years ago before I got married but I could only sustain it for a few weeks before going back up to 12st again.

So I'm really happy to have broken through that!

HeavyHeidi · 15/02/2025 08:52

Steve yes I've noticed it as well. Never had much of a sweet tooth, so not surprised I can leave chocolate, but I normally won't say no to crisps. There's an open pack on the table right now, of the variety I otherwise really like, but I have no desire to even taste it. Witchcraft!
Also gone off alcohol.

A day late weighing for me this week because I was up and out at 4:30am on weigh day and was too sleepy to look at the scales. 0.3kg down from last week which I'm not surprised at, I've definitely been hungrier and snacking more this week although I've stuck to my plan of only ever snacking on fruit and/or nuts. Ready to go up to the 5mg pen next week.

W6 D7 2.5mg

Finally got a small woosh today bringing my total loss to 8kg. After eating a lovely home cooked valentines meal last night - marinated venison steak with veg and salad followed by sorbet, my first dessert since starting MJ.

Thinking about going up to 3mg tomorrow. Been ravenously hungry last couple of days - first time in nearly 7 weeks, it’s a bit of a shock to experience that feeling of panicky, uncontrollable hunger. Usually about 5pm when I would really like to eat dinner but have to wait for dinner to be ready by 8 and DH is cooking… I know the answer is to just eat my own dinner, but he goes to a lot of effort to prep something healthy for me.

The 5mg is definitely kicking off weight loss for me after a lengthy plateau. I’m tired and a bit cold, but that’s it.

@2025istheyeari I take Grenade bars when I am on the run. They are hideously expensive (on offer in Tesco though) and very sweet. They are really high protein though and about 200 calories each.

The salted caramel one tastes like a Mars bar. I can’t actually eat a whole one!! Really filling. Have a wonderful time!

I am going to get some serious steps in this weekend, and make some vegetable soup this afternoon.

Thelittlestranger · 15/02/2025 09:25

Some more great losses, well done everyone. And to those with slower weeks - it happens to us all. Stick with it. If you are eating less, it will come off.

WI from yesterday, jab tomorrow as I'm on the way to the airport and didn't weigh this morning. But I weighed this on both Thursday and Friday so confident in the drop.

Loss this week - 3lbs!

NikkiC1975 · 15/02/2025 09:31

Morning all. W7D1 today, only .5lb lost but I’ve not been as strict as usual this week, have also been training plus last nights overindulgence for Valentine’s Day probably hasn’t helped! Still at least it’s not a gain!

3rd dose from 5mg today, going for 55 clicks as did 50 last week and 45 week before.

keep going everyone!

KenAdams · 14/02/2025 08:31

Hi everyone after some advice please.

Started 3 weeks ago, 4lb off in the first week, 2lb in the second and it looks like none this week. Why have I stopped losing weight?

I have lots of suppression and I'm only eating one meal a day.

I can't exercise apart from walking a bit due to medical treatment so wondering if that's what it is.

If you're only eating one meal a day, is your digestive system blocked? How much water are you having? It's not just about eating the minimum food, it's the whole.package, balanced diet, extra water, exercise to keep blood pumping to the brain 🙂

Jins · 15/02/2025 09:56

My first dose of 5mg seems to have gone ok so far. I was freezing cold last night and slept dreadfully so hopefully that’s a fleeting side effect. I have had no side effects to speak of so far.

When I was awake in the wee small hours I read various websites about Mounjaro and actually looked at the expected rates of loss which I seemed to have forgotten. In the first month a loss of 4% of body weight is expected. For me that would be 6.36lbs. From 10/1 to 14/2 I’ve lost 6.2lbs. 20% of body weight in a year would put me just above 9st which is the goal I plucked from thin air. So rather than framing my loss as low in comparison to other methods I’ve used in the past I’m now counting it as text book Mounjaro.

Thanks so much! We’ve never been and can’t wait! Roasted chickpeas a good shout, may buy some ready done in packs and make bars, we won’t have a stove sadly but think they should tide us over! Yes we’ve hired a car and it’s looking rainy but snowy so 🤞🏻we can get around and see lots! Thanks again, really do appreciate the ideas.

MananaMananaPenelope · 15/02/2025 10:46

You'll be fine with a car @2025istheyeari . You'll be able to find a reasonably (for Iceland) supermarket on the edge of towns. Are you flying into Reykjavík?

We're touring Scandinavia in the summer 😍, not driving though, I hate driving abroad. Plane, train and ferry.

One meal a day is fine for some - we are all different - it can just be a form of intermittent fasting. There are lots of studies on it if you google. I only had one meal yesterday but still managed 900 calories and a decent macro spread.

TicTac80 · 15/02/2025 10:47

ooh crikey, I'm late into this new thread! Hello all!! 😁I posted on the other thread without realising about the new thread. Today I'm down to 67.25kg. BMI 24.7 and fat 33.5%

I'm still classed as overweight (I'm BAME), and fat % is too high, so I've got quite a bit of a way to go. I think I am aiming for 55-60kg (though it says a healthy weight range for me is 50-62kg), but am also concerned about addressing the fat %. That's dropped 3%, so it's something.

Food is mainly grilled meat, veg, seeds and stuff like that....with the odd cheeky couple of crackers with cheese or cornetto or quality street choc. I can't manage much in volume though - and I think this is causing things to slow up digestion wise - so I have to do a bit of a rethink so that I can get more cals in. I had the Thai beef Salad from Wagamama yesterday (take out) and couldn't finish it in one sitting, so I'm having some of it now, and the rest in a little bit.

Constantdieter · 15/02/2025 11:27

Fourth 2.5 done.
2.8lb loss this week, total of 12.2lbs in 3 weeks, over a third of my goal (35lbs) 🥳
Have a great weekend all. We're just going into half term here so 10 days of lie ins as an inset day the other end, lush!

Laura7010 · 15/02/2025 11:44

I think I might have to stop :(

I had bad side effects when I moved up to 5mg so the second jab I tried 3.75. I was still pretty awful. Two days of feeling ‘poisoned’ is the best way to describe it. Then last night the most awful wind and sulphur burps, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a new hole in the ozone layer! 😓I’ve also just noticed I have some redness on the jab site from Wednesday, should I be worried?

im away next week and won’t be taking it with me, when I’m back I might go back and try 2.5mg again but I’m not sure my body can handle any higher.

Ive lost 16lbs in 5 1/2 weeks so I’ll be sad it won’t keep working for me

myladyjane · 15/02/2025 11:46

@Jins that's interesting re expected weight loss. After a great first 2 weeks I have slowed right down (mid way through week 5) but on that basis I too am on track. I feel reassured by how I'm feeling about food (hungry for my meals but not overeating, not picking or snacking but still enjoying what I eat). Given I've not yet moved up past 2.5 I am hopeful and data like that helps.

I had a lovely day off yesterday. Lovely early lunch with dh - I 'built my own bowl' in Wagamama so protein, veg and brown rice. Rice was huge amount and I only ate half (rice is my fave carb and I easily overeat it so this was a victory). Easy afternoon and I got my chores done early. A 'get fit with Rick', some weights and a lovely calm down yoga, an 'everything' bath then cackle over the apprentice with dd1 who needed a cuddle after a bad day.

Today I've just got up! House is tidy after yesterday, dd2 is poorly and banished to her room. Dd1 has gone to her sport with dh then plans to come home and watch movies all afternoon. It's wet and cold. Dh and I were going to go to the local nt place but it will be too muddy so I may get him to walk into the village for a coffee just to get out.

Those plans make me happy as I'm not thinking about where I can cake or what I have for dinner and if a takeaway is on the cards. I have a nice dinner sorted as we went food shopping yesterday but it feels quite freeing to think about how to relax not how to eat.

Still no period though.

myladyjane · 15/02/2025 11:51

@Laura7010 that sounds rough.

I hope your break away allows everything to calm down. If you got results on 2.5 (and you did) perhaps that is all you need?

I have said before that when I had a bout of what you are experiencing I did try pepto bismol which seemed to work better than other otc medications. If you are still feeling rough may be worth a try?

Laura7010 · 15/02/2025 11:56

@myladyjane thank you, it has calmed down this morning and my husband got me some windeeze which I’ve taken. I’ll pick up some pepto bismol also just in case. It seems to last the two days following and then I feel much better. But I can’t be so ill two days out of every week! I had started to get hungry on 2.5 but I’d rather try that than this agony again!

HeavyHeidi · 15/02/2025 12:00

Maybe some other drug would work better? I have friends who couldn't stand semaglutide ones but MJ works fine - so opposite may also be true.

Saggyknickers · 15/02/2025 12:24

myladyjane
Im pretty sure I've not had a period since starting MJ (did 5th jab yesterday) despite having sore boobs/feeling PMT-ish for over a week. Hope I'm not bloomin' pregnant!

Laura7010
Im on quite a few of the older threads as well as this one and it seems to be quite a common problem. Most people have a break and then start at 2.5mg again and titrate up really slowly. Usually ends up ok but I have seen one or two people who've had to come off completely due to terrible side effects. The redness is common too I think and nothing to worry about.
I would maybe contact your provider and see what they advise, good luck.

MananaMananaPenelope · 15/02/2025 12:29

I read that the redness is less of an issue if you take your pen out of the fridge somewhere, can't remember where.

My Ouskh order is coming later - 5mg. I'll have two pens in the fridge then plus the last dose of my first pen in my knicker drawer.

I haven't mentioned MJ to my teens - bit difficult when it is in the veg drawer (under my weekly bag of Cavolo Nero). Not sure what else I could put it in really - teenage locusts get everywhere.

HeavyHeidi · 15/02/2025 12:34

Manana is it a problem if they know? If they're teens, they would hopefully be able to understand that it's just like any other medication, you wouldn't judge someone for taking thyroxine if their thyroid is not working properly, so what's the difference? Obesity is a disease and means our bodies are not working like healthy ones should be.

mince3point14159265 · 15/02/2025 12:40

Sorry it's affecting you so badly @Laura7010 ; as Saggy says, maybe a short break might help to reset things before trying again?

OP posts:
Saggyknickers · 15/02/2025 12:41

I've not told anyone at home either and my pens are wrapped in a plastic bag in the back of the bottom salad drawer (that no one uses) however if anyone found it I'd just be honest. I just don't feel it's a big announcement I need to make. I really can't be bothered with the inevitable "you don't need to lose weight/you shouldn't be injecting yourself with this rubbish" that I know il get from dh. He won't understand.
