@kathjee well done on your 10lb. I’m w3d6 and I’m going to stay on 2.5 as well. Great to hear that you are getting some suppression and that it’s manageable to eat less. I’d really like to do that if I can. I don’t enjoy not feeling at all hungry and want to learn to think about food, but be in control. If 2.5/ MJ can support me in that I’ll be really pleased and v grateful. I also don’t want more side effects. How did you decide to stay on 2.5? How much do you loose most weeks?

Jins · 05/02/2025 21:56

They do price match with chemist4u but not offer prices. So they’d give you a credit for £40 for your next order.

kathjee · 05/02/2025 22:17

@GrumpyMuleFan I actually lost 8lb in the first 2 weeks and then the last 2 over the next couple weeks. I weight train so I don't go off scales but my old clothes fit me and iv lost inches from arms/thighs/waist.

My problem was not particularly eating too much, I have low thyroid, my ethnicity and other similar reasons means I just can't lose the weight esp after my third baby. So the fact I'm eating less on 2.5mg isn't that much of a big deal for me. So I just thought no point going up to 5mg because I'm not eating a lot anyway, and I'll probably just get load of side effects. Basically I don't need to suppress my hunger any further. I know a lot of ppl would rather go up a dose and reach their goal weight first then maintain but I'm trying to take it steady so when I do come off them it's not a shock to the system and iv built good habits

Thanks, yeah I've seen the Monj website so have messaged MedExpres with screenshots of Chemist4U so hopefully they'll respond! 😃

@kathjee I'm totally with you on the thyroid. Mine was removed around 10 years ago. Despite eating 1750 calories a day, strength training twice a week and running three times a week I could not shift any weight by myself.
What mj has done for me is simply incredible. I do worry about what will happen when I stop taking it though.

RockyisMYRhino · 06/02/2025 06:30

Week 5jab day for me! Weighed in and have lost another 1lb which I expected - slow and steady wins the race as they say! Have had an up and down week - had poorly DC to contend with so couldn't get to the gym much and have noticed some wines creeping in as well which I probably could have done without! Have got a busy few weeks of socialising the next couple of weekends so fingers crossed I'm still able to stick to the plan! Have ordered a 5mg pen but that hasn't arrived yet so DH and I are going to try and break the 2.5mg pen for the golden dose (I'll let him do it in case it goes wrong!)
SW: 15st 1lb
CW: 14st 7lb
GW: 11st
Total loss: 8lb

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 06/02/2025 06:37

So today is week 6 day 1! First 5mg jab when I get back from work.
No real side effects over the last week, i have noticed i am a bit more tired, and needing more than my usual 5 hours of sleep.
But my running over the last week has become much easier, after struggling to run the first couple of weeks.

So after last week not losing weight but losing inches, this week i have lost no inches but lost 4lbs. I have also had my period this week.

STATS TIME
SW 214.3lbs
CW 192.2lbs
GW 167lbs.

2025istheyeari · 06/02/2025 06:57

Hiya

W5D1 here and I took my first 5mg last night, I decided to go for it, I’ll report back but keeping everything crossed for no side effects.
Just been weighed and have lost a pound and a half, pleased with that, ( would have loved even 1/4 more to get under the next stone band from a psychological perspective but next week!!)

sw 16st 3.5 ( started a week before Mounjaro)
Mounjaro sw 15st 9.5
cw 15
gw 11st 7
total loss 1stone 3.5 pounds!!

I’ve also lost cm, first measure on 10/1 and have lost 5 off my waist, 4 off my thigh, 2 off my chest.

the suppression was definitely lower for me last week and I was feeling hungrier, so ate towards the top end of my calorie deficit most days.

good luck everybody!

hagforlife · 06/02/2025 07:29

Morning everyone
W3d1
SW 16st 6lbs BMI 42.1
CW 15st 11lbs BMI 40.4

3rd injection day today and so far have lost 9lbs and am into the next stone bracket (a win in itself)
Mentioned constipation in last weeks post and after following some advice made sure to drink plenty of water and added some prunes to my diet in the form of a breakfast smoothie which definitely helped but need to be consistent with it
Something I have learnt since starting mounjaro is that I am an emotional eater, I seem to have found myself experiencing various feelings and feeling a bit as a loss not knowing what to do with myself then realising it was because I wasn't reaching out for the food to "fix my feelings" so that's been interesting!
I also feel I have more time, time to think, time to relax, time to do other things which felt bizarre until I realised that it's because I'm not thinking about food all of the time!
Had heard/read about food noise before starting mounjaro but didn't have an understanding of it...I used to think of food ALL THE TIME! It hasn't completely disappeared, the food noise is definitely lingering, but it's something I'm aware of now so I can at least try to address it.

Thanks for this thread, it's nice to have somewhere to share my thoughts and experiences of being on mounjaro, only 2 friends know I'm using it but we don't discuss it so it's nice to have this supportive thread.

Oh! And seeing my BMI drop is very satisfying tooBlush

Hi, I’m on week 3 of 2.5 and I’ve started to get hungry and thinking of food again. The first two weeks were great and I lost 1stone and now I feel like it’s not working. Is this normal? x

Yes, very normal. It exactly the same for me. The 2.5 mg is only a starting dose, meant to slowly introduce the drug into your system, and while it does work really well for some, the effect will wear off for others.

Well done on all the losses, both in weight and inches! I can never be bothered with the measuring, maybe I should have this time 🤷🏼‍♀️ I instead go with how my clothes fit differently Grin My trousers are definitely getting looser, yay!

I've also started thinking about maintenance... not sure I want to stay on MJ for the rest of my life (and probably won't even be able to get any, as I don't have any other health conditions). So I really need to work on my relationship with food and how I eat... I have a very sweet tooth and always struggle with portion control, both of which are non-issues while I'm on MJ. But I am still watching everything what I eat like a hawk, weighing out everything, counting calories, checking macros etc. It's still hard work and effort! Finding it a bit depressing that this is what I might have to do now for the rest of my life...

EverybodySayCheeze · 06/02/2025 07:41

Can anyone help. I’ve got my delivery for second one coming today, but I’m not in. It’s coming via DPD but there are no options to change the delivery day or leave a note to the driver. Does anyone know what happens - will they have it flagged as a refrigerated item and not leave it unattended? The only option I can change on the delivery website is to select a neighbour to deliver it to and they are so nosey I really don’t want them knowing I’m on a weight loss jab - they’ll have opinions!

HeavyHeidi · 06/02/2025 07:43

does the package say what it is? NOrmally it would just say it's from pharmacy, could be anything.

Overthemoun · 06/02/2025 07:43

Jab 6 today, another 2lbs off today so 13lbs in total since 2nd Jan.

Borntofollow · 06/02/2025 07:47

Rejoining the thread after a 2 week break.

Took my 4th dose on 18th Jan, just before we went away on a 2 week holiday. Didn't calorie count or restrict whilst we were away. In the first 3 weeks of MJ my weight went up and down and when we went on holiday I was disappointed and only 2.3lb down from my starting weight (after 3 weeks). Treated the holiday as a normal one, with the view that I'd "start again" when we got back.

We did walk an average of 10 miles a day whilst we were away and, whilst I wasn't calorie counting, we were in Asia so the food I ate was generally healthy, no alcohol etc.

Came back and weighed myself on the 1st day back and had lost 5.5lbs over the two weeks.

Moved on to 5mg now and done my first 5mg injection yesterday. Down another 1.8lbs since we got back and hoping for this to continue with the help of MJ. Food noise is middling at the moment, didn't notice it when we were away as we were so busy - but noticed it yesterday when I did snack just for the sake of it.

Back to calorie counting today - aiming for 1200-1500kcal daily and hopefully this is the start of the improved losses!

Same here - total thyroidectomy, really slow metabolism so I can eat very little if I don't want to put on weight. On most days, I have no breakfast or lunch. I don't eat junk, I cook very healthy meals, no sweet tooth. And I am a fitness instructor in my free time! So if anybody kindly tells me that oh how lazy to take mj, you should just eat less and take a 10 min walk, they can take a hike. Should I take the magical walk that will make me slim before or after my 10K run?

UnderandOverwhelmed · 06/02/2025 08:13

Urgh, feeling awful this morning. Mega sulphur burbs, feel sick and just had an episode of mega loose stool, didn't make it to the loo. So glad I didn't go up to the full 5. I was like this on 2.5 when I started and hoped it would only happen the first time.

BreezyPeer · 06/02/2025 08:20

Weigh day today!
Took my first Golden Dose of 3.2. I've got a 5mg pen in the fridge. I'm going to start that pen next week with 45 clicks which is 3.75 and see how I get on.
Anyway!
SW 15st 12
CW 15st 0
1st Goal 14st 6
Final Goal 12st
Feeling good about the loss so far. Really haven't had any food noise at all since I started. No chocolate or crisps which is unheard of for me!
I need to start walking more as the nights get lighter and I need to up my water intake so those are my two goals for this week.

Jins · 06/02/2025 08:51

W4 D6 and I’m so glad I’m a daily weigher because I’ve squeezed into the next stone barrier!!! My weekly average won’t reflect that yet but it does feel as if things are moving in the right direction

RosaBaby2 · 06/02/2025 09:13

Jab and weigh day tomorrow for me, jot feeling like I've lost this week but won't let it get to me and I guess I don't know until I weigh.

Had a chinese last night, chow mein noodles with chicken in blackbean and a few prawn crackers, no nasty effects from that and have saved the rest for today. Was tempted by the kids chicken balls but resisted!

CurlsandCurves · 06/02/2025 09:26

W2D2 here.

Suppression is back up again, but at a manageable level. I left about half a jacket potato and a third of my chicken breast last night because I was comfortably full.

Ive also got back into exercise this week after about 8 weeks off for various reasons. Went to the gym on Tuesday and did a bit of cardio. Yesterday I had a weights session with my PT. I would go to the gym again but I’ve no time left this week. Moving forward my plan is gym x2 and pt x2.

Fountofwisdom · 06/02/2025 09:28

W5 D2 : decided to go up to 5mg this week as suppression on 2.5mg has definitely worn off. Took first jab of 5mg yesterday evening. Felt fine until this morning when I woke up with tummy pain and discovered I am very badly constipated. Extremely uncomfortable and cannot get any relief yet.

Have had a fruit smoothie with linseeds, a hot drink and have taken a Dulcolax, but currently lying under a blanket feeling so uncomfortable. Has anyone else has bad constipation, and how have you relieved it?

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 06/02/2025 09:31

Jab 3 of 2.5 for me yesterday and felt really ill in the night, probably due to having gone out for a rich pub lunch. Awful lower stomach cramps and felt like I was going to vomit.

Feeling much better now, but very much 'off my food'.

discoballv · 06/02/2025 09:47

Im also going to go up to 5mg after my first pen has finished. I did my third dose of 2.5 last night, so have one more then I've got insulin needles on the way to extract the extra dose the week after. I feel pretty hungry this morning and have definitely been 'snackier' the past few days but I have resisted! I don't usually eat breakfast as I fast from tea time until lunch the next day, and it's unusual for me to be hungry in the morning even without MJ.

Completely fine about moving up though. I know some people can stay on 2.5 for weeks which is great. I find it interesting how much it affects different people.

I haven’t on MJ yet… But I did LighterLife a few years ago and because you don’t actually eat anything solid, constipation did kick in. After a 10 day stretch with nothing and v painful time as a result, I learnt how to deal. The brand that said it “delivered fast, gentle results” …. Well, fast, yes, but poosposive. Psyllium husk tablets work brilliantly for me and don’t tip me into the opposite of constipation. Hope it helps and you feel better soon.

discoballv · 06/02/2025 09:57

I am really prone to constipation and psyllium husk keeps things good for me too. I know that's now helpful right now but for future it may be worth getting some to take each day. I also have flaxseed and chia seeds, and some prunes every day too. I saw someone on a FB group say that having some bran flakes every day at breakfast is good too so I'm going to add them into my diet also.
