Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

Did my last 7.5 injection last weekend but I have barely lost any weight over the last two weeks … still have 6 stone to go so it isn’t that I’m nearing my goal. Have had heavy period but would this account for the plateau?

How is your exercise, food macros and water intake in comparison to the weeks before? Any clues there? I know it’s tricky when your cycle interrupts a really good losing streak but there will be an answer. Keep going!

Nothing different (I stick to the same meals every day out of habit and ease) which is why it is so odd. I have bobbed around the same three pounds up and down for a fortnight. So frustrating!

Well as Napoleon once remarked β€œ failure cannot cope with persistence” How many more weeks do you have on the 7.5mg?

Your body might benefit from a shock to the system - eating your meals in a smaller time window, varying meals in favour of adding protein, upping/varying exercise output?

The bike that was stuck in the impossibly low gear made me giggle. I can imagine the calf muscles as a teenager were NOT what you wanted, but playing the long game, that muscle strength probably has served you well! I can NOT cycle uphill. I have to get off and walk (bearing in mind my cycling is restricted to about 50 metres at a time at Centre Parcs), so I do not know what this 21 year old muscle strength is doing for me?!! I will see if the muscle strength is any use in building that stamina and fitness. Once I have worked out how to measure those on my body scanning app thingy I might discover that my bio age is more like 74 (and watching those grannies zumba, they can way out-zumba me!).

It is very hilly where I live which they are slightly useful for I suppose. Nice views but hills are a faff. I now dream of living somewhere flat!

Zumba grannies are amazing! Anyone doing those classes are fantastic in my book.

Have you seen the story of 'Bad Ass Gran' - a woman in her 70's who is the lead competitor for her age group at Hyrox? She can lift some insane weights and pushes 102kg on sleds. She says she is in the best shape of her life and is 71. I heard her on Woman's hour a couple of weeks ago. Inspiring!

My weight always gets stuck the few days before/ few days starting my period.
Then suddenly a few pounds fall off ☺️. Hope it’s the same for you!

Oooh loving everyone's losses and celebrating all those dropping into the next stone bracket! What a brilliant thread to catch up on after being awol for a bit!

I've just calculated that I'm only 3lb away from dropping into the 12 stone bracket - i weigh myself in kg so I don't get too fixated on the number, but I'm so excited that I'm only a few weeks away from being a 12 stone something...last time I was that weight was before I started my weight loss campaign for my wedding (20 years ago!).

Flippin Nora. Anyone else wish they were as 'fat' as they thought they were in their twenties? 😳 I remember thinking 12 stone was outrageous and marching myself off to weight watchers! Now I'm giddy with joy at being back at that weight!

TOTALLY agree! Not only wanting to be that size but also being able to lose the weight the way it came away then πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ BUT Mounjaro is so massively helping towards those goals!!!!

jay55 · 30/01/2025 09:37

Brilliant stuff from the losers.

I'm having a good week on the scales so far but not celebrating until I get through the weekend.
Have had rotten side effects for a couple of days but seem to be easing off.

Getting a bit annoyed with myself with food waste, last night dry fried some new potatoes I had leftover from mon/tues dinner and then only managed two bites.
This morning have made a lovely fruit salad and am sat watching the apple turn brown with no motivation to eat it despite a grumbling tummy.
And I need to adjust my shopping as I'm still overbuying and have no freezer space.
The downside to living alone, no one else to feed.

Cantbesure · 30/01/2025 10:10

Morning all. Fabulous work on all the losses.

Weigh day for me. I've lost 1lb this week so I'm now at 16lbs down. 12lbs to go. Although I'm considering potentially aiming for another 7lbs to take me to a BMI of about 23.

I've arrived at one of life's set point weights. It's just under 27 BMI but a weight I've gravitated to and stuck at for a lot of my adult life. I was this weight 24 years ago before getting pregnant for example. Fingers crossed I don't stick here too long and the scales move down!

No stone bracket movement but I have tipped into the next kg bracket.

Jab day today. I've got my first 7.5mg pen but going to continue with 5mg and see how I get on.

DarkForces · 30/01/2025 10:11

After my 3lb loss last week I've slowed down again and just lost 0.02lb since Saturday. It's definitely not a predictable journey!

MsRumpole · 30/01/2025 10:30

1.5lb off this week! Very pleased given that I have slept terribly and been quite hungry.

Whattodowithaminute · 30/01/2025 10:33

only down .3kg this week, have just increased dose from bonus and a top up to give me a 7.5mg. DH away next week so will be no booze and have decided to do a 3 day detox meal plan which will control calories for Tuesday-Thursday next week. Started to notice less suppression and less side effects-limited weight loss this week coincides with having eaten a handful wotsits yesterday. Noticed general increased reach for food lying around so ready to go up.

ShaunaSadeki · 30/01/2025 12:06

I am totally stuck, last week I blamed it on increased exercise, and having our belated English Christmas, but not sure this week.

I think my portion sizes might have increased a bit, so will watch that, but still not snacking. I did Body Pump on Monday and have kettle bells tonight and will do Body Pump tomorrow or Saturday, depending on when a place comes free. I went for a lovely run this morning and will do Park Run on Saturday, average step count not amazing but not awful (due to weather), hope to get to 70,000 by the end of the week,

Desire to drink wine back with a vengeance, but holding firm until the weekend at least, or maybe longer as DH will be away and my only plans are with DD one evening and a teetotal friend the other.

evilharpy · 30/01/2025 17:59

I'm going out the first weekend in March and have a pair of jeans I was hoping to squeeze into by then, just tried them on and they go over my arse and thighs and zip up! Another half a stone and they'll hopefully fit pretty well so fingers crossed I can do that in four weeks.

lostinchaos · 30/01/2025 18:10

Well done on fitting into the jeans! Sadly as it's been over a decade since I was this weight, I appear to have no wearable smaller clothes hidden in my wardrobe. I'm now struggling to find anything to wear, particularly jeans and trousers, and feel guilty about having to buy new clothes in case I can't keep the weight off and because I haven't even reached my target weight yet. Blush

You deserve to feel good about yourself. You don’t begrudge your children for changing size or shape I’m sure, so buy a few bits to get you through. The Zara sale has some bits at very low prices, so have a look maybe?

I’m an organised hoarder so I have clothes that I’ve kept since forever in the hope that I would get back into them - hopefully here we are!

A loss is still a loss though! I’ve noticed if I have something processed it has the same effect, so I try not to. I’m still trying to minimise the effect of my weekend off 😩
