November ‘24 starters thread 6 - The one where it’s still January but we keep losing 💪🏻

Mounjaropen · 17/01/2025 08:33

Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets 🥰

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

Feeling more positive and started the week well. My boss finally made time for me so I could chat some things through. Another colleague was a total arse but I just have to remind myself, she can’t help it, she’s just not a nice person (she’s the one who bullied me/spread lies but it’s all come out so she mostly behaves but sometimes can’t quite keep it in). Anyway, onwards for another week!

LimeLace · 28/01/2025 19:57

Hi everyone, I am feeling inspired by a lot of you. I just love how supportive this thread is. I lost 3 pounds last week which takes me up to 34 lbs lost so far. Just another 60/70 lbs to go 🫣

I have ordered the 10mg pen which I will jab with this weekend.

Keep up the good work everyone 😀

IHateMozzies · 28/01/2025 19:59

I haven’t kept up with the thread, hope everyone is doing well.

After a stressful week last week (daughter had op - absolutely fine this week 😮‍💨), I had a busy weekend of Bingo and a trip to London. Had a lovely chinese in China Town, just ate the right amount for once! Had a lovely hotel fry up as well…half of what I would normally have.

Weigh in tomorrow and still hopeful I can have a loss 🤞🏻

mustwashmycurtains · 28/01/2025 20:14

OK so i think i have finally lost 10kg since September! makes me feel that this really could work as I usually struggle to get past the 5kg mark.

SW: 97kg
CW: 87.7 kg
GW: 69kg

I've been setting myself the goal of 1kg loss each week and so far it seems to be the right amount of motivation.

However for the first time in months i'm feeling queasy on this - i moved up to my first 10mg dose and am regretting it. No proper symptoms but i feel so queasy and low energy I think it is actually making me want to comfort eat. Or maybe making me want sugar. Think i will move back down to 7.5 for my next weekend jab.....

LilyRose88 · 28/01/2025 20:53

I've lost another 1lb this week so down 18lbs in total. I'm still on 5mg and I'm a slow loser but I've decided to go up to 7.5mg for my next pen. I've been on 5mg since the end of November and I'd like to see if the higher dose gives my weight loss a little boost.

I've been feeling the cold terribly since I've been on MJ but I haven't had many other side effects. The constipation is the worst side effect so far. I've been eating a few dates and dried apricots which help a bit. I have resisted buying many new clothes as I still have about 10lbs to lose, but I have bought two new pairs of jeans. It does feel good to be in a smaller size.

Aww I’m glad for you. Stress at work leaves you feeling so hopeless doesn’t it - especially if there’s a bloody Wendy at work. Keep going 💪💪💪

Congratulations on the loss! I felt terrible exactly how you described on my first 5mg but was fine on the 2nd dose of it. I’d give it one more go and see how you are before dropping back?

Morning all, a couple of interesting articles about Pvolve in the times today (I promise I don’t have shares in the Company 😂) - one a sort of puff piece/Jennifer Aniston’s workout etc, the other regarding a study on its efficacy by Exeter University on a group of menopausal women which was quite interesting. It is clear that functional fitness training is a growing area and one that has health benefits without damaging/punishing your body.

Jennifer Aniston fitness regime ‘beats official menopause advice’

A study has found that the Pvolve programme, followed by the actress, outperforms government guidelines for menopausal women

Scales are playing up this morning!

They are saying I’ve lost 4lb this morning! I did go on before and after the shower and they said the same thing as I really didn’t believe it! They genuinely do play up sometimes but I’ll take the boost this week.

Total loss: 20lbs

I'm seeking advice from you knowledgeable lot please..... as constipation is becoming more of an issue 😩

Does psyllium husk take you back to pre MJ regularity? Or does it just make you go a bit more often than if you didn't take it?

I am definitely going to buy some, but was just wondering what to expect really. Thanks in advance.

(Apologies for the repeat, I've asked this on the main board too, but this thread is so lovely and active - very much unlike my bowels, unfortunately) 😂

lovealongbath · 29/01/2025 08:50

Flax seed is keeping me regular after my 11 day stint without a 💩 .
i just sprinkle some in Either porridge, yogurt, protein drink and it is definitely helping.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 29/01/2025 08:53

11 stone dead on this morning - so close! Anyway, that marks 21 lbs or 1.5 stone off, hurray! I’ve been much slower throughout Jan, though - definitely going up to 7.5mg for my next pen.

4lbs off is awesome, @IHateMozzies!

I saw that Pvolve article in the Times this morning, @Mounjaropen, and thought of you!

I read kiwi helps. So whilst away last weekend I ate a half of one at breakfast every morning and…bingo!

I also noticed that I went more because I ate more, so I think I do not eat enough when at home. I am going to keep up with the kiwis now I’m back.

Hello everyone!! Apologies I have been awol again. Just catching up!!

definitely slow and steady wins the race. Your body adapts easier and it should make long term goals more sustainable. I do think that after the initial few weeks most people do slow anyway to a pound or two a week anyway.

im 12.9 kg down (just over 2 stone) in 13 weeks. I have one injection left in my pen. I’m 7kg off goal weight. Deciding whether to get one more pen or go alone. I have been on 2.5 for one month and 3.75 since. 5mg makes me very ill!!

Sorry to hear that, that sounds really difficult. I hate situations like that in the workplace - it’s hard enough just trying to balance life with trying to do a good job, let alone deal with poisonous people who try to wreak havoc! Hope your boss keeps on top of it.

Goldleafcat · 29/01/2025 09:59

Pretty static weight wise for me this week - 14 stone 12 on the new scales. So I think this is 22lb in total (gave myself an extra half pound of room based on old scales!).

Life has been a bit of a juggle with work and childcare (toddler meant to be back at nursery, but delayed due to chicken pox doing the rounds) (have to bite the bullet next week though, not really sustainable). Eating is a bit all over the place and have indulged in a bit too much wine! Wondering if MJ will ever make me not like wine - not happened yet 🤣

Goldleafcat · 29/01/2025 10:03

Oh I do have a NSV, or rather a non scale observation. I do think my face is looking a lot better. Before when I’d catch a glimpse of myself in a window / lift / mirror I’d be like ‘meh’ but it seems to be less of a horror now. I know people say losing weight can make you look older / more haggard but in my case it’s the opposite (at least for now…).

Great losses! I remember the chickenpox days at that time you were encouraged to actively get your child to catch it. Mine failed to do so at any of the chickenpox parties and then months later she developed it whilst we were on holiday in Dubai 😭
