Ooh that’s what I’m hoping for next time. I start my next pen tomorrow and that’s another 7.5mg.

Shazzabelle · 15/05/2025 03:06

@travelforthesoul hiya how much have u lost so far ? I think that cause it's a .5 dose they don't keep you on it near as long as like 5 or 10 . Have u been OK for side effects ? Good luck with it hopefully be fine for you on Tues i take my 3rd jab of 5mg but I feel happy to stay on 5 for my fourth pen I think as I don't get side effects will see what tues brings lol

travelforthesoul · 15/05/2025 06:46

no side effects, but Ive lost nearly 10kg since beginning Feb. So not as much as some people. definitely not eating as much as I used to and plenty NSV. Will see how things go, still got 2-3 doses of 7.5 to go.

BestDIL · 15/05/2025 09:40

Weigh in for me today
Jab 17 and lost 1.7lbs this week. That’s ok. Just started my 2nd 7.5mg pen.

Indigestion back this week sigh!! I’m just going to have to live with that. Found that Rennie Deflatine is better than Gaviscon and also gets the trapped wind which I seem to be getting more of now.

have a good week all x

Shazzabelle · 15/05/2025 10:01

@travelforthesoul 10 kilos is good 👍 hope u don't get side effects. Good luck with hit i started 2nd week Feb i think well am on week 13 at moment till tues lol

@BestDIL re the arm I just held the opposite shoulder so my arm was across my chest in a V shape. Then prodded the needle into the flabby bit in my upper arm, (if you were looking towards me it would have been the back of my arm, but not the underside, if the makes sense) my arms are pretty chunky so it wasn’t an issue to hit the fat/flab part. (Obviously I knew where I was aiming for and had wiped the area with the alcohol wipe first) I’m right handed and the week after using my left hand into the right arm was harder but still totally fine.

This week I went back to belly to keep it rotating and immediately have an itchy spot again, boo. It’s the kind of itch that as soon as you scratch its immense relief but makes it’s all 10 times worse. No idea why I don’t get any itch at all on the arms when both the belly and legs do. it’s not the end of the world, and not enough to stop using MJ, just annoying. (I’m mildly allergic to loads of random things so it’s not like it’s unique to MJ)

GoldLeader · 19/05/2025 14:50

Also first jab of 7.5mg on Friday, and it’s been great, I know my weight loss has been amazing so understand why they kept me on 5mg a little longer, but this weekend has been a relief. Back to the removal of cravings and just eating nice healthy meals at intervals.

the last couple of weeks on 5mg I’ve eaten all my Easter eggs (my fault I should have just binned them or given them away!) plus a bunch of fudge from a Mother’s Day event that’s been sat in the kitchen since. I have still lost minimal weight even so, but it’s been the food noise and mental kick that’s been really a struggle.

Also amusing story- I ate a protein bagel, with scrambled eggs and salmon for dinner and it tasted super nasty. Each bite was just a bit gross, and I was thinking ‘has MJ 7.5mg put me off different food? Is this a new side effect?’ Then I decided it was the salmon that maybe MJ was not working with (like how I just don’t want fried food anymore) and so gave my very happy pooch the entire salmon from the plate.
then today, I went to have toast for lunch (wholemeal seedy bread) and again it was gross.
turns out it was the Clover, I’m eating so much less now, and healthier options that I’m not going through a tub of Clover quick enough and it’s gone off, never had that as a problem before. Looked fine, but took a sniff, totally disgusting. My dog got a whole bunch of salmon for free and now I need to go and check dates on all the things I’d never normally worry about. 🤦‍♀️

GoldLeader · 19/05/2025 15:04

@LazyArsedMagician love the graph!
I find it so satisfying seeing the downward trend.
it’s probably the one thing I think SheMed could improve with by adding a graph in. The list of check-ins in the progress area is just a bit ‘meh’

BestDIL · 22/05/2025 10:55

Well another disappointing loss on the scales this week - 0.4lbs. 7.5mg doesn't really seem to be working for me very well anymore as the food noise is very loud. Last night and night before I was trawling the cupboards trying to find stuff to eat! I managed to resist the bad stuff but still ate a full punnet of strawberries! Losses as follows:

2.5mg - 12lbs (4 weeks)
5mg - 9.8lbs (8 weeks)
7.5mg - 9.4lbs (6 weeks)

Total loss so far is 2st 3.8lbs. Below is my excel spreadsheet which I record my weight in - as well as SheMed and Shotsy App! I'm obsessed. This just reassured me that although I only had a small loss this week, I'm still doing really well.

Have a good week everyone x

Well done @BestDILoverall still well over 1lbs a week and sustained is considered excellent.
I too want those big loses that come at the start and the buzz of the drug which magically switched off food noise, but I guess losses will slow and will have to find ways to manage the noise. The ‘big’ changes in place now so it’s just keep plugging away. Maybe one day there will be a pill or injection which just switches noise off permanently but my worry is that I will have to find a way to manage or be on this drug for life (which is not clear if safe to?), or most concerning that I will just Yo-yo on and off this drug gaining and loosing the weight again and again.

But well done. Just think where you maybe with another 1lbs a week for 6 months… 25lbs off sound good? Not sure if you have this much to loose (I do). I’d take the 25lbs now yes please, but same again needed.

GoldLeader · 22/05/2025 14:21

@BestDIL love a good spreadsheet! But I’m an accountant so a spreadsheet nerd. 🤓

I think 7.5mg is only supposed to be a step up dose so not surprising it’s not quite as effective on the 2nd pen, but presume you’ll get moved up for the next one?

and I feel you on the cravings when they come back it’s super frustrating. A punnet of strawberries though is a decent binge, I think a whole punnet is less than 150 calories and gets you a few vitamins in. It’s when the chocs/carbs come out I worry!

i echo @Reginaphalangeeeee, it’s a marathon not a sprint. And as long as I can see a downward trend then i can see a win in the long run!

BestDIL · 22/05/2025 14:43

Thanks @GoldLeader and @Reginaphalangeeeee I needed to be reminded that its a marathon!

My goal is not a weight as such but a size. I'd like to be able to get into 12 jeans comfortably and 14 tops. Looking back at when I wore those sizes before, I was around 11st, so about 35lbs to go. Shotsy tells me I am 48% there.

I started losing weight about 2.5 years ago when I weighed in at 17st 5lbs. I was busting out of size 20 jeans and all my tops were 22! My knees ached, I was knackered and lethargic all the time and then my husband at 47 had a heart attack and I vowed that we, as a family, would start to eat healthily. Our son is like a beanpole and has the amazing ability to stop eating once he is full! God knows where he got that from as both hubby and I are gannets.

A friend told me about Slimpod so I did that for about a year, lost about a stone and kept it off but stopped listening to the pod. Then went to the Doc and asked for WLI but they said no and gave me Orlistat instead. Over the course of last year I lost another stone but started skipping Orlistat when I was eating something naughty - kinda defeating the object! A couple of pounds crept back on and when I stumbled across SheMed in January, I was 15st 10lbs, size 18 jeans and size 20 tops.

Today I weighed in at 13st 6lbs, I have size 16 jeans and a size 16 Superdry T shirt on (emphasis on Superdry as I always think that designer brands are cut a bit on the smaller side). I feel bloody amazing. People I've not seen for a while are noticing and I've had a couple of people tell me I look a lot younger! Love those comments.

I'm glad I just wrote all this as it's reminded me how far I have come and the fact that I've lost more weight in the last 18 weeks than in the previous two years is amazing.

😍

GoldLeader · 22/05/2025 15:13

@BestDIL and we’re not half way through yet! I keep thinking it’s 12 months and ends in dec, but I started at the end of jan, so there’s an extra month of jan 2026 as a ‘bonus’ 😂.

its good that people are thinking you look younger, I fear I may be the opposite. 😬. I think I may be getting ‘ozempic face’ (obv yes with MJ instead) I’m just over 3 and half stone loss (weigh in not till tomorrow so I’ve not officially ’banked’ this weeks loss yet) but given it’s been a pretty big loss in a short amount of time my face is showing ‘lines’ that I don’t think were there before. Nothing big, just an overall sinking shall we say. I’ve always had a plump baby face (even back in the days of being thinner) so instead of looking young for my age I think this loss has made me look a whole lot more age appropriate. Think how no one batted an eye that Nicola Coughlan was playing a teenager in Derry girls/ Brigerton when she’s in her 30’s, that was me until this year.

My neighbour even asked me at the weekend if I was tired, nope just had dark circles under my eyes and no moisturiser on 😂

im hoping my skin just needs time to adjust, but even if it doesn’t I’ll take the weight loss and aging over plump and looking like a child.

my goal of a ‘healthy’ bmi (which is super arbitrary but gives me something to aim for) also gets me to a similar weight and clothes size I think. From your description it sounds like we’re similar at the same weights, except I’m bum heavy not top heavy, no boobs over here! 😂

Edited

Yoyoing weight has acted like a pump for my boobs. Each time I gained weight, my boobs got bigger but when losing weight, they never got smaller! I topped out at a 42F - the F being for f**k LOL. 😂

travelforthesoul · 23/05/2025 12:54

praise the lord I have lost this week! on last dose of 7.5mg and I have been much more careful with what I have been eating and drinking. I have been eating more, but better and lots of veg and fruit, with plenty of salad. It helps that the weather is nice.

People are starting to see the loss and clothes are definitely loose or too big.

Going away this weekend and should be lots of walking so that will help with toning - slightly

LazyArsedMagician · 23/05/2025 18:00

Weirdly I've found that both the 2.5mg and the 7.5mg have resulted in greater food noise - anyone else?

But - also weirdly - I'm finding that actually, I lose more if I eat more. I can have one sparse dinner and a piece of fruit one day and weigh more than after the days I have a sandwich for lunch and then just eat till full at dinner time. Either way I'm still definitely in a calorie deficit.

I know people say that "starvation mode" isn't a thing but I'm not sure my body knows that! Wink

GoldLeader · 23/05/2025 18:55

@LazyArsedMagician don’t know about starvation mode but I know ‘time of the month’ massively affects me.

Red week and just after is always a plateau, then the week after always an extra big loss for me. Never really noticed how consistent it was until I started tracking every week for this.

BestDIL · 23/05/2025 22:27

@LazyArsedMagician. I’ve found that 7.5mg doesn’t shut off the food noise either. I’m desperate for 10mg now.

I’m wondering if I’ve not been eating enough so I’ll try and eat a bit more over the weekend and see what happens. I’m also going to start tracking my food to see if there’s a pattern.

travelforthesoul · 24/05/2025 09:09

I came across a gap-1 page recently and it said it is really importantt to eat regularly and to make sure we have breakfast - I am guilty of not eating breakfast.

I am going to make an effort to have a shake at breakfast time at least or some fruit. I am drinking lots of water.

I agree - 7.5mg does not shut out the food noise or the 'want' to snack of an evening.

Shazzabelle · 24/05/2025 14:05

Am still on 5mg 4th pen starts on a week tues . Am on week 14 be 15 on tues I've lost 2 stone and 2.3 lb so far .I always eat breakfast . I have no food noise or notion for rubbish at all . I do get hunger always want my meals no forcing meals at all for me .

Shazzabelle · 24/05/2025 14:07

Forgot to say drink 2 /3 litres of water a day plus couple coffees

Ruthrathbone · 25/05/2025 11:36

Avoid SheMed at all cost, 3 blood test later they keep loosing my results getting the codes mixed up apparently. Ask for my money back and they said no because I don’t fit their criteria??? There are plenty of better companies that provide weight loss injections so off to trading standards I go

I think you’re probably putting this in the wrong place tbh as we’re all currently on the plan with SheMed so a bit late to warn us!

BestDIL · 25/05/2025 20:33

@JBJ Agree with you. Can only speak for myself but I’m very happy with SheMed!!
