Just a follow up, my new prescription is 7.5mg.

Don't know if they’ve read the notes about having craving/food noise or if it’s just because my loss is less this month, but after 3 x 5mg pens, this next one is 7.5mg

also it came via DPD this time. Which is a note I asked for a couple of pens ago, but then nothing changed so I assumed they just didn’t read. All the other deliveries have been Royal Mail and Royal Mail is frankly terrible where I live. This is the first time I’ve had a pen come on the actual day it’s said it would. If they keep coming via DPD that would be amazing, I’m really hoping it’s not just a one-off because of the bank holiday.

kittykarate · 06/05/2025 14:38

Check in day for me, my weight has swung downwards again (to 300g below my previous low 2 weeks ago, after a 500g bounce upwards). Across 4 weeks, I have lost 2.5kg, which isn't too bad when I see it written down. I definitely need to keep focused on the long view. I've had a good week for moderate exercise, and a bad week for beer so not a bad show all round.

Shazzabelle · 06/05/2025 17:37

Week 12 finished
1lb off today
total so far 1 stone 11.3 lb

Actually really pleased with that loss because in Edinburgh for the weekend . Ate as healthily as I could had a few drinks but not a little first time in 12 weeks having alcohol .
Now to start my 3rd 5mg pen and bring on week 13

This is an update on shemed experience and I am curious to know whether my experience is shared by others. Long story short their product may work but I have no way of knowing. The pen sent me was faulty and they will neither take it back or refund me the £160 spent on the process. Their communication system is faulty and shoddy and I am kind of surprised at all the good reviews I can read on Trust Pilot. If I am to suggest anything is that you find another provider.

SilenceInside · 07/05/2025 17:39

I would be interested in hearing what their reasoning is for refusing a refund @Scarriff ?

I would say that you have been extremely extremely unlucky to have received a faulty pen, there are thousands of posts in this section of people using the Mounjaro pens and not having any issues with them. The blame for a faulty pen lies with the manufacturer, Eli Lilly, rather than the pharmacy, but the pharmacy should replace a genuinely faulty pen without quibbling, or refund you if you prefer.

If you paid by credit card, can you use the credit card chargeback scheme to get your money back?

Scarriff · 07/05/2025 17:45

Thank you. I would be glad of a new pen or a refund.. Either would do. She Med refuse both. I am beginning to doubt the truthfulness of the many positive reviews.

SilenceInside · 07/05/2025 17:50

@Scarriff what is their reason for not refunding?

I don't doubt the positive reviews. There are many posters here who are using them without issue. It is very rare to get a non-functioning pen, and you have then had issues with communicating with the pharmacy when there is a problem which is unfortunate and poor service. The rest of their customers are generally not experiencing any issues and so don't have any reason to communicate extensively with them, beyond the usual regular contact that they provide.

Scarriff · 07/05/2025 18:18

Thank you for your interest. Im a bit frustrated. I initially blamed myself for not being able to manage the pen and asked my local pharmacy to look at it. They confirmed the mechanism was stiff and not dispensing the dose. It took six days for SheMed to respond to my polite request for a new pen. The answer is that they don't do that.

Im now curious as there are other recent distressed reviews, mostly about communication. I looked them up and the young female founders are not listed as officers of the company. Perhaps it was sold? . I didn't bother to check before I handed over my cash. I guess its lost now. Any recommendations for a different provider?

SilenceInside · 07/05/2025 18:36

Try the credit card charge back if possible. There are many other providers. Have a look at the comparison website Monj for a list of registered and regulated providers.

Hi All

Weigh in for me today and 1.6lbs off (thats 700g in new money). Total loss is 2st 2lbs (13.6kgs).

Realised this morning that I didn't need any Gaviscon or Rennie yesterday. That's a first since I started the jabs and a very welcome relief.

Got my next pen which is another 7.5mg so that'll be 1 x 2.5mg, 2 x 5mg and now 2 x 7.5mg. Wonder whether I'll stay at 7.5mg after this next one or whether they will put me up to 10mg, another 3 weeks to wait and find out.

Have a good week all.

That's very unusual to get a faulty pen. Did you contact the pharmacy that sent it? They may be able to help you. I assume you tried different needles? They are the most common problems with the pens. I've had multiple needles not work and if the needle is faulty then the pen will not dispense.

As for SheMed, I couldn't be happier. Been with them since January and have had no issues whatsoever.

Scarriff · 08/05/2025 13:57

very glad to have your reassurance that its not all bad with SheMed. I am sorry to say my experience is different to yours and as far as I can see, there are more and more concerns about communication. When things are good, its all great and clearly the medication supplied works. When things are bad, as they have been for me, the difficulty in getting any sensible response is frustrating . All I really wanted was a new pen. Couldn't be that difficult to supply. But .....Clearly there are problems there. Im actually feeling better about it all today. Written the cost off in my head. No point in pushing the boulder further uphill. There are other suppliers. Thanks for reading though. Thats a comfort.

BestDIL · 08/05/2025 14:04

@Scarriff We're a friendly bunch on here. Come back and join in once you're started. I am and I suspect the others will be happy to provide support and tips no matter who you get your MJ through!

Do try going back to the pharmacy who provided the pen - it should be on the label on the box. They must have dealt with this problem before!

Scarriff · 08/05/2025 14:25

Im very grateful for the kindness shown me here. No more SheMed though

kittykarate · 08/05/2025 14:26

I had one pen that felt really stiff and it didn't dispense - turned out it was a bent/broken needle so it didn't actually fully puncture the seal on the top of the pen, so the pen couldn't plunge because all I was doing was compressing the liquid. I'd had a bit of a disastrous day and had 2 needles that didn't work for me for whatever reason. Luckily I had some spares so I managed to get it going in the end.

@Scarriff When your local pharmacy examined your pen - was it with needle in situ? Is the stiffness when you are clicking out the dose, or when you are plunging? I would try contacting the dispensing pharmacy (their details are shown on the label on my medication box) as they actually shipped the product.

Failing that claim back on your credit card, as it is a faulty product.

Shazzabelle · 08/05/2025 16:52

@BestDIL well done that's magic plus getting rid of heartburn think prob put u up as not meant to be on them half doses too long am on my 3rd 5 but I don't mind no side effects 😁

GoldLeader · 09/05/2025 14:06

@kittykarate and @BestDIL thats interesting I didn’t realise the needles not working could be an issue, I wondered why they kept sending out 5 needles instead of 4. At this point I’ve got a little pile of extra needles in the fridge. (Because yes I just keep them next to the pens!)

check in day and yeah, positive as a week on check in. But I did also happily munch on Easter chocolate last night, no desire to stop, no will power to put it down. 🫣

final jab of my 5mg pen today, and the 7.5 is ready for next week in the fridge. Possibly get a little less craving again when I move up.

Currently my loss is 3st 3lbs (20.kg) being over 3st and over 20kg feels like great mile stones. I didn’t really think it would be so successful when I started but was willing to give it a go. Now it’s ’real’ and I can see myself actually getting to a ‘healthy’ bmi. (I’ll be honest I didnt feel unhealthy before, just big, and sick of being treated differently because i was big. My go to holidays for instance are walking & active holidays doing hundreds of km over days and weeks totally fine. But people just see you at over 17 st and assume you’re lazy!)

On top of weigh in a couple of notes from me-

last week I injected my arm for the first time, (previously I’ve been rotating between legs and belly) and I have to say the arm, for me, was better. I get a little 2 inch rash around the injection site on my belly and legs, not harmful but itchy and annoying, I got nothing at all on my arm. Also no bruising or pain, which can often happen on other sites. So I have to say the arm was a win for me, and I’ll be including it in the rotation going forward! (Also really wasn’t an issue doing it myself like they said it would be in the injection guide!)

Also shared my graph, because I think it’s amazing to see the progression. The month figures are an average of all my weight logs in that app during the month, weekly it’s obviously not so smooth.
the goal is from 10 years ago when I originally downloaded the app, and I was going to change it to a more ‘realistic’ target for this year, but actually I think trying to get to an officially ‘healthy’ bmi, and stretching myself, feels like something I should actually try now that I see SheMed working so well!

also realised that I’ve done amazing and have lost loads, but people Start these jabs from my current weight so there’s a fair bit more to go 😜

have a nice weekend all!

kittykarate · 09/05/2025 14:46

@GoldLeader I think if you're naturally on the clumsy side (which I am) and a bit stressed about doing jab (also me), I think you can easily put the needle onto the pen initially at a funny angle, so instead of pushing straight down through the seal, it skates across the top, and then bends as you apply force. At least that's my theory why I had that one day where nothing worked. It should have been obvious when I primed, but I did it without my glasses on and thought I could feel moisture on the needle. Now I know my priming should be like a decorative fountain giving it one of those big blips, and the plunger should plunge easily at that point.

travelforthesoul · 09/05/2025 15:33

so according to the wonky scales ive lost 1.7lb - 0.8kg this week. Which I think might be correct. Clothes still loose, ive gone down a size at least since starting and now I am starting to feel more 'me'.

Well done everyone on their journey.

LazyArsedMagician · 10/05/2025 14:08

Afternoon all.

Start weight: 108kg
Current weight: 93.3kg
Goal weight: 60ish kg
Height:164cm
Age: 42
Shots taken: 15

Have been upped this week to 7.5mg, I think I was ok on the 5mg but not averse to losing a bit more! Haven't really been that much more active but it's nice being able to walk for an extended period of time without my knees hurting. It's dawned on me just how much the excess weight was hammering my health.

If anyone is interested, here's a graph of my progress. The sharp uptick a few weeks ago was the day I weighed in at the end of Easter weekend, also in the evening which had a huge impact. My weight can genuinely fluctuate 2kg day to day which is wild.

Despite still being grossly overweight, I went shopping and was able to buy size L in Zara of all places.

My SheMed journey
LazyArsedMagician · 10/05/2025 14:18

Oh also - my top end healthy BMI is now lower than when I was 20ish 😭. Totally makes sense but not something I'd really thought about!

kittykarate · 11/05/2025 08:21

So a NSV for me yesterday, did a 1 hour time trial thing with my sports club yesterday. I was 21 out of 22 participants, absolutely beasted by the end of the hour, but I kept going for the full hour with only water breaks (I've never cracked drinking while on the move, turns into a mobile water boarding situation).

kittykarate · 11/05/2025 08:29

I also now realise I do genuinely have an outing hobby, there must be less than 1000 people in the UK do it regularly.

BestDIL · 12/05/2025 14:19

@GoldLeader I had a problem with two of my needles, one after the other, which is how I found out. I promptly bought a box of 100 spare needles because the anxiety over only having a spare needle or two would have been too much. Of course, since then, not had a problem!

Interested to know how you injected into your arm. I read on another thread somewhere about leaning against a doorframe to get the skin pinch! I only inject into my thighs, as I found I was moving my stomach when injecting there and had lots of little bruises!

@LazyArsedMagician I too have noticed a big difference with walking and my knees are much happier. I picked up some weights last week, roughly equal to my weightloss and was astounded at how I could feel it on my knees. I read somewhere that 1 pound off is the equivalent of 4 pounds less pressure on your knees.

@kittykarate well done on your time trial. I don't exercise as such but do have a half hour dog walk every morning.

Have a good week everyone x

travelforthesoul · 14/05/2025 18:27

so my next prescription arrived today and ive been put up to 10mg! so only 4 weeks on 7.5. I think they think that im not losing enough weight although NSV have been so good - obviously shemed have no idea of that though.

hmm not sure how I feel about that, still got 2 weeks to go on current meds.
