Ooh also tip in case people haven’t found- in the app

profile—> preferences—> Measure units

you can swap from Kg to stone or pounds, so you can read your progress in different units. I found that helpful!

And my stats so far-

Starting - 17st 7lbs (111.1 kg)
Current - 14st 8lbs (92.5 kg)
loss so far - 2st 13lbs (18.6kg)

So close to 3 stone!

Afternoon all, Happy Easter 🐣

check in day for me and it’s a bit of a weird one, my loss is officially 5lbs this week but to be honest most of that should really have been in the week/s before loss. I cut down half a tree in the good weather a couple of weeks back (by myself up a ladder with a chainsaw like a fool 😂) which was great but massively exhausting, and I was in so much pain for days from over doing it. (I had to cut up all the branches and then move them to a skip by myself, nightmare)
i figured I’d probably done enough exercise for the month that weekend but when check in came it was 3lbs (which is pretty constant for me, no extra)
So I’m thinking this week is just a catch up of my body from previous.

However I’ve had massive cravings this week, I’ve had to really work hard to eat at the same rate I’ve been eating over the last couple of months, but I’ve been loosing that battle. I’ve had chocolate, I’ve bought a bag of ‘treat’ crisps for the Easter weekend, and I can see myself eating the chocolate eggs I’ve been given. It’s been really noticeable to have some of the ‘noise’ back and be thinking about later night eating.

i have 5mg for a 3rd time already and today was the first jab of the new pen, so I’ve got at least 3 more jabs to go before I could move up but I don’t know if should try and ‘help’ myself move on to 7.5mg next time. I was seriously debating making my weigh in less favourable today by sticking things in heavy things in pockets or something because by weight alone it looks great for me on 5mg, but it’s been a serious struggle this week and last week I was mooching for food too.

i don’t want to give in and eat poor to just maintain weight so they’ll give me 7.5 but it feels really dishonest and wrong to make the next couple of weigh ins poor to help me move along. But I really don’t want the noise back yet!

any advice?

Hang in there @GoldLeader
you have done really well! Having a few treat reassures your body you are not starving it and with leptin hormone response could also mean a good week for weight loss. Once you have naughty stuff though, your body wants it more. Get through this weekend and stick at 5mg, no weights in pockets at weigh ins. For me 5mg seemed to dip supression and then it kicked in again strong. On your next questionnaire you can always say you are ready for 7.5mg due to supression levels. By 4months I think they expect to go up Anyway.
stay strong, you are doing fab!

Margo84 · 22/04/2025 19:49

Hi all it's been a while so I thought I would jump on and say "Hi" and give an update.
I'm just coming to the end of week 8 and about to start my 2nd 5mg pen on Friday.
So far I am 6.3kg so about a stone down.
Again like many of you no one has noticed but I have.
The first two weeks of my 5mg I felt terrible frequently nauseous and full very quickly. The last 2 weeks other than maybe fuller a bit quicker the food nosie is back a little and i can eat a full meal again. Back to 3 full meals a day and fruit snacks. Not much indigestion, but still feel the cold and legs ache like a beast.
I start my 2nd 5mg this Friday so will see where're next few weeks take me and may have to request upping to 7.5mg.
8 weeks in an 6.2kg loss that's an average loss of 0.7kg so about 1.5lb a week.

Looking to start some exercise next week some weights and cardio to try to boost things along.

Shazzabelle · 22/04/2025 23:09

@Margo84 hiya that's a decent loss 😊I've just been prescribed my 3rd 5mg pen today but I am fine with that as I have had no side effects since I started , no food noise . I've never had the suppression people talk about or nausea never can't face a meal or force food . I do get full but I eat my three meals a day . I tend to stick to whole foods where possible. I've always liked cooking and always cooked from scratch so that's easy for me . I've totally upped my steps and just started a little strength training twice a week now too .

BestDIL · 24/04/2025 12:54

Hello everyone

Thought I would wait a full week before reporting back on 7.5mg. I have had great suppression which lasted all week. Side effects of indigestion have been the same. No other side effects which is great.

On to food, I've not eaten breakfast since I was a kid so no change there. I have had to remind myself to eat lunch as there was one day where I got engrossed in work (I work 100% from home) and lifted my head at 4pm and realised I'd not eaten anything all day. Plenty of water though!

Total loss this week was 3.4lbs which has taken me over the 2st loss so I am super happy.

So I would say that anyone who is not getting great suppression, ask to go to 7.5mg.

Starting Weight (23/1) - 15st 6lbs
Current Weight (24/4) - 13st 10.2lbs
Loss so far - 2st 0.4lbs

Have a good week everyone xx

travelforthesoul · 25/04/2025 10:20

Well done @BestDIL

did my check in today - still on 5mg, but have the new 7.5mg for next week (which will mean I still have a 'spare' 5mg left to use) but I have lost 9.8kg in total which is 21.6lbs. People are noticing now and I feel the difference, still a LOT more to go but Im feeling good about this.

I havent felt very much supression on 5 but have felt nausea more and have wanted to eat 'junk' so I have work to do on the mental side to address this.

Hope everyone has a good week too.

As long as you keep the spare 5mg in the fridge and use it before it's expiry date, you can save it for later.

People are starting to notice with me now too, mostly on my face and neck - I have lost my triple chin and have to really tuck my head down to see the double chin!!! I can see it more when I am getting dressed - my mid section is definitely reducing but, of course, clothes hide it from everyone else. I am down three top sizes now and 1 bottoms size but they were out of kilter anyway so now I'm 16/18 top and 16 bottoms.

I feel quite nauseous today. We had sausages for tea last night and they aren't sitting right in my stomach. I think this happened before with sausages so I will be avoiding them from now on!

Have you tried Slimpod? Great for focussing the mind. I lost a stone a couple of years ago with it. It's a bit like self hypnosis. Fall asleep listening to it. It cut out my evening snacking immediately and I didn't want any junk either. You can get 10 day trial for free.

LazyArsedMagician · 25/04/2025 14:43

Update since 4th April:

Start weight: 108kg
Current weight: 98kg
Goal weight: 60ish kg
Height:164cm
Age: 42

Not much off, but was away over Easter staying with family, so a bit more loose with food intake, and tbh I did my check in a day late and in the evening rather than first thing in the morning, so while my weight stayed the same, actually I'm confident it has gone down it's just normal daily fluctuations.

I am weighing every couple of days and logging on the Shotsy app (thanks whoever recommended that) as I like seeing the graph!

Non-scale victory - my rings fit! My mum gave me a beautiful ring of hers round Christmas, and while I could get it on, it was hard to get it off. Now, fits perfectly. Bit annoying that the first places the weight comes off is my fingers and my legs rather than my chins and belly but I'll take it!

Still on 5mg, getting heartburn a lot less now as well.

LazyArsedMagician · 25/04/2025 14:52

Also - I feel a LOT smaller.

I went out and bought some new clothes last week, and was able to comfortably buy a Large at The White Company. So although I'm not sure it's hugely noticeable to most people, to me it really really is, and I'm so pleased.

I have to say, I am a tad worried about maintenance. My thyroid function is really really low, one point above the cut off for the NHS, and I know from here we have much bigger range than other countries. I'm worried I'm going to be stuck on maintenance of being super duper careful and miserable.

But, that's a problem for future me. I can't do anything about that now.

kittykarate · 29/04/2025 16:01

Bah! A not so great week for me, 500g on and I don't feel like I did anything worse, and possibly been a bit better as I'd gone out and done some extra exercise! Just got to dust myself off and crack on for the new week. I was feeling mad positive, my jeans felt 'loose', I thought my belly was much less prominent.. and then I'm up in weight.

travelforthesoul · 29/04/2025 20:03

ignore the weight gain - trust the clothes!

I put on a work top this morning that I have not worn for a long time... it looked hideous, far too big, baggy, long and awful. I need to rummage through my clothes and ditch the too big and wear stuff that fits, or buy new. Although I have wardrobes full of clothes in various sizes so I dont want to buy too much.

BestDIL · 30/04/2025 10:29

@kittykarate I agree with @travelforthesoul trust your clothes not the scales. I haven't lost much this week either despite having done nothing different. I am post menopausal so it's not monthly cycle affecting my weight.

I too have gone through my wardrobe, dug out some shorts to wear now we have this little bit of nice weather and they are all waaayyy too big. Need to get into the loft and dig out some smaller clothes. I went through them a few years ago and put them all by size in vacuum bags so with a bit of luck, I should just be able to find some smaller ones. I'll be putting my big clothes back in the loft but really hope that this is it for me and it'll be my last ever diet.

I have been thinking about maintenance once I am at target and feel that I may be on MJ for life. I figure that if I get a high dose pen, I can use it to administer partial doses, say 1.25mg weekly and see how I get on. A 7.5mg pen could in theory last for 6 months. I know the pens have an expiry date so I'd have to be mindful of this but having just checked the one I have now, the expiry date is 02/26. I understand that as long as it is kept in the fridge, it's good until then.

Another thought. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you have upped your exercise, that could be the reason.

kittykarate · 30/04/2025 10:51

Thanks for the positive thoughts @BestDIL and @travelforthesoul - I know that it's a long journey, and bad weeks will happen.

I need to go through my 'summer' clothes to see if I have any that fit! I'm away for a weekend in spain soon, so need to work out if I need to sew a pair of shorts in a hurry!

Shazzabelle · 30/04/2025 20:12

@BestDIL hi yes I too think I will be on this for life i also really hope it's the last time for me . That's good thinking your saying maybe prices will be cheaper by then and a low maintenance shot available....x

BestDIL · 01/05/2025 13:27

Check in day and no change for me this week. I'm fine with that and it's spurred me on to have a better week! x

GoldLeader · 02/05/2025 14:39

Afternoon, check in day and it’s very mildly positive but it’s been a massive slog all week. It’s the 3 week of my 3rd 5mg pen and the whole time this latest pen has felt way less effective than previous.

I’ve put in the ‘notes’ to say it’s not been great so hopefully I’ll get moved to 7.5mg. Although I didn’t explicitly ask for 7.5mg. (will probably find out Sunday/Monday what they’re going to send next)

im now over 3 stone loss (yay!) but this month has not been great, chocolate, crisps, late evening mooching. I was even browsing for a takeout last weekend, the day after the dose! Haven’t been looking at those since jan.

Roll on next dose.

On the plus side I had my first person properly ask if I’ve lost weight this week, summer clothes may have helped -even with mounjaro coldness I can survive without a jumper when it’s 27 degrees out!

I also took the plunge and listed a bunch of my bigger clothes on eBay over the Easter weekend. Mentally telling myself I won’t need them again. (I’ll take the happiness now over potentially regretting things gone later!) Now a lot of them have sold and the money has cleared it’s been nice to have a couple of hundred pounds to guilt free shop for clothes. Keeping it cheap with 2nd hand stuff because I don’t know what size I’m going to end up, but been enjoying buying ‘new’ (to me anyway) clothes in smaller sizes and having them fit is great.

New clothes in smaller sizes providing the push to fight the cravings that my 5mg isn’t quite fighting. 😂

SheMed is doing a great job on marketing! They are selling blood test under the name of weight loss. BE AWARE! They charge you £99 for basic blood test and then they find an excuse not to send you any medication after.

What was the reason they gave you?

BestDIL · 03/05/2025 11:52

Good question @LazyArsedMagician

travelforthesoul · 03/05/2025 18:46

Check in yesterday, not great - think its my scales, but couple Lbs on...

This is my first week of 7.5mg and im drinking my water like I used to, got my salads, my tasty foods, avocado and even ore clothes are loose again. Ive got a few health issues - not related to this so Im trying to lose weight to make things better regardless, but its likey I will need a hysterectomy in the near future. :(

Going to list my too big stuff and get my wardrobes sorted out this bank holiday weekend. That will make me feel better.

LazyArsedMagician · 03/05/2025 23:00

Don't think @Victoriaroselondon wants to admit they were declined due to medical reason, or, more likely, that they're just not overweight enough.

Anyway, onto my update!

Lost 1.6kg this week, going great guns at the moment as I'm supremely stressed at work so am not eating. Have never ever been a "forgot to eat" type so this is strange for me, but it has meant that when I have eaten, I've been starving so have eaten both too quickly and too much.

That being said, I'm on AL this week (thank fuck) so will be trying to fit some exercise into my days as well as regulating my intake.

Start weight: 108kg
Current weight: 94.3kg
Goal weight: 60ish kg
Height:164cm
Age: 42
Shots taken: 14

I'm still at 35BMI but Shotsy tells me I'm nearly 30% of the way to my goal which I'm pleased with.

BestDIL · 04/05/2025 00:18

I agree @LazyArsedMagician. In all likelihood doesn’t qualify. Seen loads of posts on other threads where people are trying to get it lose a stone for their holidays! Madness!

onto your great loss this week, you’re doing so well. I keep forgetting to each lunch too. The over eating and eating too quickly are still an issue for me! Keep forgetting to slow down! As a result, been popping the Rennie this week. I discovered a triple action Rennie which seems to be really good at getting rid of the trapped wind and isn’t foamy like Gaviscon. I can only get it from Sainsbury’s but it’s worth the trip to get them.

@travelforthesoul I’m not much better on 7.5mg than 5mg. Just got my second 7.5mg pen so on that dose for at least the next 5 weeks.

I’ve not been very “on it” over the last week but went shopping this morning and bought some lovely healthy stuff. No Hubby with me so no random stuff going into the trolley!

i love Shotsy! It’s such a good app. It tells me I’m 44% of the way to my goal. My current BMI is 30.9. So close to sub 30 which I’ve not been for about 20 years!

Have a good week all
