I gained a kg today, which is disappointing, but I have been away Fri to today, drinking and eating differently than I do at home (though not eating loads. I’m also a little constipated and I did feel I might have messed up my injection last week.
I will draw a line and move on 😊.
Did I read somewhere that spots are a side effect? I’ve a couple of whoppers!

I had a similar thing on week 4. All the symptoms you describe could be from eating differently. I usually have poor skin but have noticed that it has been better since being on MJ BUT that could be that I am eating more healthily than before.

I am struggling with drinking enough fluids throughout the day. I've woken up the last few days feeling absolute crap and this morning I figured it out. I downed a pint of water and almost immediately felt better. I struggle with squash and cordial as almost all contain artifical sweeteners which I hate the taste of. There are only a handful available without them but obviously then my sugar intake goes up! I have been drinking the sugared cordial and making it weaker than normal.

Hi everyone, just an update.
So my first jab was Friday and I haven't had any side effects at all. I have had a reduction in food noise but no real appetite suppression however I am being more considered in what I'm eating. As the week has gone on I have certainly felt more of a desire to eat, and don't feel as full so I guess it's starting to wear off.
Today the scales are showing a 1kg loss but check in is Friday so we will see where we are at. Not as big a loss as I was expecting but it's progress.

Has anyone found that they have had a bigger loss on the 5 more than the 2.5?

Shazzabelle · 04/03/2025 13:07

Hi there week three weigh in 2lb off brings my total to 7lb in 3 weeks 😊

kittykarate · 04/03/2025 16:34

Hi @Margo84 don't be disheartened by your initial loss, everyone gets a different result and a loss is a loss! I was in the 1kg club, but on the upside, after 8 weeks, I'd lost 8kg! If I'd managed that on weightwatchers I'd have been cartwheeling!

Kebabo · 05/03/2025 06:24

@Kebabo gr8 loss !! Good to hear still no side effects , is your suppression stronger than on 2.5 ? I read sooooo many people saying they canna eat at all and have to force stuff down , would hate that . Am moving up to 5 next week .

Kebabo · 05/03/2025 07:41

It's not so much suppression for me but I Now have no food noise, no cravings or hunger. I can eat fine but making better choices

Shazzabelle · 05/03/2025 07:47

@Kebabo aye ats what am like zero food noise being a magic feeling , better choices all that , having energy it all feels positive, hope still feel same next week when I go up

BestDIL · 05/03/2025 10:04

I am two weeks into 5mg and I have to remind myself to eat. If I eat just a little too much or something that's not very healthy along comes the indigestion. Apart from that no food noise whatsoever.

I feel like I'll be able to stay on 5mg for some time.

Shazzabelle · 05/03/2025 13:14

@BestDIL aye think if you losing be for the best x

BestDIL · 05/03/2025 21:32

Good grief. Just watched Channel4 Dispatches on the skinny jab scandal. Worth a watch. I am so reassured by the checks that SheMed do each week with us. Also feeling smug about the price!!

Chylde · 05/03/2025 23:03

So week 7 this week, week 3 of 5mg and lost 2.2lb. Making a grand total of 14.6lb.
I'm very happy and already feeling so much better within myself.
Does anyone know when you have to do 2nd lot of blood tests?

Shazzabelle · 06/03/2025 00:50

@Chylde well done not sure but I think it's at either 3 or 6 months ?

Shazzabelle · 06/03/2025 00:51

@BestDIL yeah a good watch, that prescribing nhs nurses though !!

BestDIL · 06/03/2025 07:51

Outrageous. They were getting free prescriptions and charging £200 for it! Boots came out of that looking really bad.

My MIL told me that X amount of people had died using it but listening to the A&E doctor, it’s mostly people that didn’t need it. Aren’t some people silly!?

You are 1 day ahead of me! Very similar. I only lost 0.6lbs this week but a loss is a loss. My total is 1st 1.4lbs.

Next blood test at 6 months and then 12 according to the blurb.

Shazzabelle · 06/03/2025 08:11

@BestDIL oh totally outrageous !! , no i was surprised at Boots too. Yes that's what I believe it's people who don't need it /and also getting wrong amount too soon ( un monitored) was an eyeopener x

Margo84 · 07/03/2025 07:00

Morning ladies 1st check in today i lost 0.7kg (1.5lb) although yesterday it was showing 1.4kg (3lbs) so I guess for anyone who gets disheartened that's the fortune our weight fluctuations have with hormones, water etc. So I'm sure next week will show me what the average is that I've really lost.

Quick question it's asking me to fill out the questionnaire for my next jab already. How long is dispatch taking I'm only about to take my 2nd jab now.

Will they look at my questionnaire and discuss on check in 3 and decide then if I go up to 5mg or stay at 2.5mg I wouldn't have thought they would have made that decision already? They didn't mentioned anything.

Any advice from you lovely seasoned shemedders?

Also remaining side effect free

Have an awesome day

Margo84 · 07/03/2025 07:34

Thought I'd best add i have recieved an emailt o complete the questionnaire but when I click on it, it doesn't bring up a questionnaire it just takes me to the app and I can't find where the questionnaire is... anyone able to advise?

Beverbee · 07/03/2025 10:19

@Margo84 I’m only 2 weeks ahead of you. The questionnaire comes up on the app at week 3. Following an email & guidance I managed to get my next pen early as I was going away. The email said as I’d done 2 check in’s that I’d be able to order early. When I requested it early the questionnaire then came up for me. I was automatically put in 5mg. I did jab 4 yesterday & 5mg is in the fridge waiting for my return.
im with you on the fluctuating. Weighed in the day before check in whilst away & had lost 3lb, by the time I checked in the following morning I’d remained the same 🤦🏼‍♀️ think the birthday pina colada’s caught up on weigh day. Good luck with week 2 x

Does anyone know if you can ask for a specific delivery company? So far the first 2 pens have come by Royal Mail for me and honestly both times the deliveries have been poor, it’s a Royal Mail issue, they are supremely sh*t where I live and I generally try and arrange literally any other company to deliver where I’m ordering with a choice.

I’m concerned that in the summer when they don’t deliver on time it’s going to affect the medication with the temperature getting too high (24 delivery with Royal Mail is a myth where I live so it’s been late both times and I expect that too continue)

Im also concerned for Nov/Dec later in the year where literally my parcels just disappear off the face of the planet. Because Royal Mail uses temps that do not give a flying kahoot for those 2 months.

I can’t change Royal Mail to be better, I gave up on that lost cause years ago. But do you know if there’s away of getting some other company for the monthly delivery (even if I have to pay for it)

(also, yes asking Royal Mail to drop somewhere like a parcel shop or for me to collect, or from their warehouse doesn’t work, I’ve tried it, they just ignore the instructions. For all parcels. Specifically for this shemed one I tried asking them to hold it for the 5mg pen as I was away (knowing it was a slim chance of success) and online it said instructions received. Yet low and behold I had a call from a neighbour saying a fridge box had been left at theirs with my name on it)

im kinda concerned I’m going to get a warm pen, or it’s going to vanish and there will be issues with a replacement (not on time, or not believed etc)

An update on this, I asked for an early prescription and asked if it could come by a different mail carrier.

the early prescription was fine, same process as week 3 just a week earlier. It didn’t say anything about the dosage and they re-sent 5mg. (Presume they keep at 5mg until you plateau?)

re the carrier, it came by Royal Mail, so they either didn’t see the message or ignored it, but asking didn’t help me.

this might be an issue in both the summer if delays mean it gets hot when the coolant goes warm and will almost certainly be an issue Nov/dec when they just completely go rogue. Assume by that point I’ll have been receiving them for long enough that SheMed trust me when I say it’s vanished.

It’s such a pain to know that at some point something will go wrong, you’re just not sure when. At least I know the early prescriptions can help me move weeks simply enough, even if I still can’t pinpoint what day the delivery will come in that week.

Julz12 · 07/03/2025 17:48

Hi, am in the process of just about to sign up to SheMed weight loss injections. I read somewhere on Mumsnet chat that you can’t join it if you live in Scotland, is this correct? As I don’t understand why. Also am currently taking Levothyroxine sodium 50microgram tablets for my thyroid but have been for over a yer so I would think my thyroid is okay now, would this prevent me getting on the injections? TIA and the very best of luck to you all current on your weight loss journey xxx

Julz12 · 07/03/2025 17:52

SheMed have emailed me to confirm I can’t get the injections as am in Scotland as they can’t deliver there, so confused about this and disappointed 😪
