@Margo84 phew, I'll bet that's a relief at last.

When are you going to jab?

Good luck.

Friday mornings as that's when I can be most consistent 😄

Hi all,
So belive it or not! My pen arrived today 5 weeks after signing up and now I get to start my journey too.

Fab news. Welcome to the journey. At last x

Ahardyfool · 26/02/2025 22:18

Welcome on board @Margo84 and @Shazzabelle .
just had my first proper evening meal today of the week (5mg) and now feel mega full but was definitely hungry for it!

Shazzabelle · 27/02/2025 00:39

@Ahardyfool interesting I wonder how you will be as the week goes on

BestDIL · 27/02/2025 10:25

Check in day for me so thought I'd post an update. 1kg/2.2lbs off this week which means that I have now lost just over a stone in 5 weeks. I'm very happy with that. Just taken my second 5mg dose which is good as I noticed last night that I was mooching! Managed to resist but wonder if I will need to ramp up to 7.5 more quickly than I thought. Will see how it goes. x

Shazzabelle · 27/02/2025 13:32

@BestDIL well done that's a gr8 loss 😊 oh i had hoped be no mooching at all on 5mg but it was day b4 jag 😁

I had hoped that too. I was able to resist the bad stuff though so maybe will be ok. That was week 1 on 5mg. I was looking on the FB page and some on there noted that 5mg not as strong as they expected. Will wait and see how it goes. x

Shazzabelle · 27/02/2025 14:23

@BestDIL yep all a learning curve😊 my first 5mg on way should be here tommorrow so I don't go up till a week on Tuesday

Shazzabelle · 27/02/2025 16:05

@Margo84 hi there just wondering have you taken your jab yet ?

Kebabo · 27/02/2025 16:33

Had new prescription issued. Staying on 5mg. Happy with that as I'm mostly losing well with zero side effects.

Hey, no tomorrow morning will be day 1.

Beverbee · 27/02/2025 17:07

👏🏼 well done @BestDIL lovely loss.
I guess the food noise etc. does weaken as the week goes on.
There’s an app called SHOTSY that shows you the levels in your system. I’ve got it but don’t focus on it too much, just interested in how it looks now compared to when I step up.
Had my check earlier & very happy.

Week 1 3lb
Week 2 4lb (slightly earlier weigh in)
Jab 3 done 😉
Jab 4 packed in my hand luggage with travel scales ✈️
5mg in the fridge for my return 😊

woop woop 🙌🏼

Shazzabelle · 27/02/2025 17:08

@Margo84 ah ok good luck tommorrow then 😊

Does anyone know if you can ask for a specific delivery company? So far the first 2 pens have come by Royal Mail for me and honestly both times the deliveries have been poor, it’s a Royal Mail issue, they are supremely sh*t where I live and I generally try and arrange literally any other company to deliver where I’m ordering with a choice.

I’m concerned that in the summer when they don’t deliver on time it’s going to affect the medication with the temperature getting too high (24 delivery with Royal Mail is a myth where I live so it’s been late both times and I expect that too continue)

Im also concerned for Nov/Dec later in the year where literally my parcels just disappear off the face of the planet. Because Royal Mail uses temps that do not give a flying kahoot for those 2 months.

I can’t change Royal Mail to be better, I gave up on that lost cause years ago. But do you know if there’s away of getting some other company for the monthly delivery (even if I have to pay for it)

(also, yes asking Royal Mail to drop somewhere like a parcel shop or for me to collect, or from their warehouse doesn’t work, I’ve tried it, they just ignore the instructions. For all parcels. Specifically for this shemed one I tried asking them to hold it for the 5mg pen as I was away (knowing it was a slim chance of success) and online it said instructions received. Yet low and behold I had a call from a neighbour saying a fridge box had been left at theirs with my name on it)

im kinda concerned I’m going to get a warm pen, or it’s going to vanish and there will be issues with a replacement (not on time, or not believed etc)

cmma01 · 28/02/2025 07:01

Yes I agree. They're hopeless!
My 5mg box delivered yesterday, was left in a gritting box that's down the far side of my house that we don't use as a passageway to the back. That's fine - both the Evri guy and Amazon use that too - except that first of all, Royal Man man must have looked further down the path for somewhere else and managed to smash a load of irreplaceable spare roof tiles that were stacked right against the wall and not at all in the way. They weren't broken before he came. They were after. Go figure!

BestDIL · 28/02/2025 07:38

@GoldLeadermy first was delivered by Royal Mail but my second came by DPD. I guess you could contact the Pharmacy. If both pens come from the same pharmacy then it might be reasonable to assume the next one will come from them. Wouldn’t hurt to at least try. Either that or can you get delivered to your workplace/friend/relative?

Margo84 · 28/02/2025 08:41

So started my first dose today 2.5mg.
Will se how we go... fingers crossed.
I have recorded my weight and measurements today so on the journey now

GoldLeader · 28/02/2025 10:24

@BestDIL @Margo84 well I’ve requested an early refill and added a little note in the ‘anything else you want to tell us box’ asking if it’s possible to use any other carrier, we’ll see what they say. If it comes anytime next week I’m fine, but there are a couple of days the week after (when it would be normally due) that I can’t be in to receive and it’s just a faff not knowing when it will come and not having the ability to say ‘not this day’ when you get an email saying a parcel is due (the option is there on the email, but in practice the guys ignore it). Most of the time I work from home so can just deal with it but it would be great if the pharmacy can swap to Evri, dpd, whoever really.

re moving it another to address I don’t think shemed will approve having the address to a different place than my home? Incase you were ordering it and someone else using it. I assume they have a verification on that?

if the pharmacy say no I can give it a go with the early refill option to pick a week I’m more likely to be at home.

GoldLeader · 28/02/2025 10:36

An update on results! jab day after all.

lost a stone and a half so far. (Done 5 weeks, today is jab number 6) Very pleased!

bmi has gone from 40 to 37 (and dropping 😜)

a surprise nice thing to see is on my bmi tracker on the NHS bmi app. It’s a super super old app that I’ve been sporadically logging weight to over years (13 years of data!) it’s basically a continuous graph of your bmi and you can see a line going up and down with your weight. So I can see where I was highest & lowest over the months and years and click on points to read the weight and bmi. I’ve been logging my weight every week since the start of SheMed and it’s honestly really cool to see a basically consistent, continuous straight line going downwards. (As aposed to the yo-yos before!) It’s also cool to go ‘oh the last time I weighed this much was xxx date, but I was this much just before so that’s my new mini target’

i’m hoping SheMed adds a graph 📉 to the progress area, the downwards line is a really good booster.

thanks all!

travelforthesoul · 01/03/2025 16:40

Yesterday I moved up to 5mg and I felt a bit nauseous but I did eat, lost another 3lbs so thats 4.7kg in total now. Im going slow with this as I am looking at the big picture of forever rather than a quick fix.

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.
