Were you able to choose whether you moved up to 7.5mg or stay on 5mg?

I said I'd be happy to stay on 5 and that's what they have sent me 😁

@LazyArsedMagician I guess everyone's different with their loss but 4kg is still decent , are you drinking plenty water too? . Interesting reading as am only approaching week 3 on 2.5 ( check in tommorrow) and am wondering what it will be like when I move up to 5 .

Honestly I know that this loss is still good, it's just I am VERY overweight and was kind of hoping for a big loss to start then it levelling out? That's what I have always had before - although logically I also know I am never able to stick to it so slow and steady wins the race.

I guess it's hard to change almost 30 years of disordered eating habits in a short period of time.

Shazzabelle · 24/02/2025 12:06

@LazyArsedMagician know the feeling I want to lose 7 stone .....

supercatlady · 24/02/2025 14:32

First check in today! I lost 2.6kg, which seems low considering how little I’m eating, but still much better than I’ve had before. Annoyingly it’s telling me I’ve only lost 1.5kg - it must be taking this from the weight when I signed up - which I guessed as I didn’t have scales at that stage. I’m wondering if I should take some multivitamins?

I had the same thing happen to me. My actual loss is 4lbs more than it says. 2.6kg in a week is great, thats just over two and half bags of sugar. I always think of weight as something I can relate to. Makes it seem more real somehow.

@Margo84 any news on your prescription? My first was delivered by Royal Mail and the second by DPD. Both from the same pharmacy so no consistency!
There was no tracking on the app at all but I received an email from the pharmacy with tracking details.

I do hope you get it soon so that you can get started on this incredible journey x

Thank you. No still nothing.
Still no change, no tracking details, no delivery, no update.
I've messaged them again and their response as always I'm really sorry I will look into it. Then no one ever gets back to me so I have to message again.
5 weeks now. Over a week since my account was debited and prescription authorised.
I'm so annoyed

Oh god, I feel for you. How frustrating. Delay after delay for you. Fingers crossed it'll get sorted soon x

Margo84 · 24/02/2025 20:21

I have been assured my prescription will arrive Wednesday. We will see.

But in the mean time has anyone done anything to prepare themselves for the injections?

I mean, I ate the only chocolate bar I had in the house as a final send off. 😂

I figured eat it while I’d enjoy it rather than eat it and get terrible side affects.

probably not the way you’re suppose to prepare, but I’ve not had chocolate since and it felt like a good send off 🤣

BestDIL · 24/02/2025 22:29

I too ate chocolate, crisps, biscuits and anything else left over from Christmas whilst waiting. I've not touched any of those things since though and not only do I not want them, I don't miss them either.

GoldLeader · 24/02/2025 22:29

Feel like I just found another benefit of being with SheMed.

I just browsed another Mounjaro thread of Jan starters. And I have to say I was pretty horrified by the shear number of people ‘saving’ money by injecting half a dose, or the leftovers dose. Or just generally f**king around with this prescription medication. I get it’s your body, you can in theory do want you want, but honestly it just feels so stupid. Treating it like it’s just a little flippant thing.

I guess I’ve heard stories of it being abused by being sold in salons and people getting it without verifying need, I guess I was frankly a bit niave it was so common.

I feel like this SheMed approach, with the lock in for a year and verifying weight is soooo much more safer.
is it really worth abusing the pen for the remaining liquid if you’re going to get charged anyway? And charged half the price of individual pens? No the incentive is way less. You can’t bulls**t your way to the meds when you’re already a heathy bmi with the video weight recording.

anyway, just a bonus, I feel like people doing this here are much more sensible and sane. Xx

Shazzabelle · 25/02/2025 02:59

@Margo84 if you mean actually taking the jab i watched videos on you tube . I ate really healthy 48 hours b4 I took my first jab in case anything lingered and would react with the MJ once I did inject . Good luck with it you have had such a LONG wait xx

Edited

I totally agree with you. I love the positivity of this thread. Have any of you looked on the Facebook page. Horrible, moaners!

I too looked on some of the other threads and it was obvious that people who didn’t need the meds had lied to get them. I don’t understand why someone would do that. When I started this my BMI was 33.6. I needed to lose almost 6 stone. I have seen people who just need to lose 1-2 stone getting MJ through back door methods. Are they sure it is the genuine article? I was reassured by the rigorous procedure that SheMed went through when I signed up. I have checked my NHS record and there are various letters to my doctor informing them of each prescription and the blood results. I can also see that SheMed have telephoned my Doctor to check that what I have said in the questionnaires is accurate. My DH wasn’t happy about me signing up but I’ve shown him the letters and notes and he is now completely happy that I’ve not gone and done something stupid!

Oh, and don’t get me started about the stupidity of using the “golden dose”.

I feel like I have found a new bunch of friends on this thread. Thank you all for your positivity x

Well done. Mine was slower than others too and I'm nearly 60! We're in this for a year so I figure there is no hurry!x

Shazzabelle · 25/02/2025 10:33

@BestDIL thanks exciting times ahead for us all 😊

supercatlady · 25/02/2025 12:39

I think I may have messed my jab up this week 🙄. I managed to scratch the skin somehow and there was some medication on my tummy afterwards. Not feeling the effects as much as last week but I’ll carry on and rely on willpower abit more 😊.

I ate very small amounts - scrambled egg for breakfast & some soup for lunch. I drank loads as well.

LazyArsedMagician · 25/02/2025 15:46

@BestDIL I was reading something yesterday on Reddit, some scare-mongering article about deaths that could be attributed to weight loss medication.

It's like a similar thing I saw on the news before Xmas - one was a woman who lied about her weight, and then didn't eat anything and developed gall stones. The other woman bought it through some back door and literally some bloke gave her pens in a carpark Hmm. I mean, fine, fuck around if you like but please, be realistic - not using prescription drugs the way they're supposed is going to cause issues!

Anyway, hopefully a year of medication and I'll be a normal weight, I'll take the risks. They're no bigger than the risks of injury or illness from being so overweight.

cmma01 · 25/02/2025 15:58

Those of you who started sooner than I did will know the answer to this - do they automatically up the dose to 5mg after the 4 weeks of 2.5mg?
I only ask because during the first 2 weeks of 2.5, , I felt wonderfully un-hungry. Now I'm in week 3 and they've taken the payment for my next batch, I'm finding myself hungry between meals and very tempted by the peanut butter jar 😄 So will they send me 5mg dose automatically after week 4 of 2.5mg or do I need to ask them for the increased dose?

kittykarate · 25/02/2025 16:03

They will most likely move you automatically up to 5mg @cmma01 - you haven't reported any problems and they really prefer people to be on a 'full' dose (which is 5,10,15). The other doses are step doses to ease you upwards.

Yes, my MIL has been reading stuff and keeps telling me of all the people who have died taking it! Driving me mad. I keep reminding her that literally millions of people have used this and there have been a handful of genuine deaths that could be attributed to weight loss meds.

To all those buying through the back door, they are risking everything. If they can’t afford the proper medication through reputable sources, they should be thinking twice.

it’s a bit like the turkey teeth, butt lifts and all the other procedures which are unlicensed. I really don’t understand those having the injections to make their bums bigger - Christ! I’ve spent my whole life trying to make mine smaller 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Shazzabelle · 25/02/2025 16:39

@cmma01 does it not say on the prescription in the app as I assume since you've paid the prescription is processed
