I gave signed up and am now waiting for the blood test to arrive. I'll post updates on here so you will know if it is reputable or not. Hope it will help others.

well today I discovered that you cannot eat 'the old way'. Went out for breakfast this morning, had a mini version of cooked breakfast, didnt finish it all and I have felt awful all day, full, bloated, sore, upset tummy. I have indigestion, acid and had a nap. This is my one day off and I feel I have screwed up.

That said, it is a lesson learned and wont be repeated.

Ahardyfool · 21/02/2025 18:43

Come here for moral support. I’ve got to do my first 5mg jab tonight and I’m as nervous as I was before I started despite the fact I have not had any side effects (narrowly avoided constipation).
i strongly believe I’ve avoided side effects due to religiously avoiding sugars and fats (possibly slightly obsessively) and due to it being my 50th B day this week, I have eaten out yesterday. I had a child’s portion of mushroom stroganoff at a pub restaurant.
please tell me to get a grip!

cmma01 · 21/02/2025 19:09

If you're on the £99 deal I believe you have to stay on MJ for a year regardless of BMI

Margo84 · 21/02/2025 19:41

Evening everyone just an update. My account was debited on Monday and my prescription was authorised it's Friday and I'm still waiting for a tracking email. I've messaged they've said i should get something in the next 2 days. What time line has everyone else had from account being debited and their medication arriving?
Were jow week 4 since bloods were authorised.

Shazzabelle · 22/02/2025 00:54

@Margo84 hi sorry it's so hard to remember now , but I looked at app and it says prescriptioned issued 6th Feb recieved 8th feb if that's any help . You seem to be having such a LONG wait ....

Beverbee · 22/02/2025 07:59

@Ahardyfool
Hope the first 5mg jab went well 🤞🏼
I hear you, I’m only on my 2nd 2.5 but got really nervous about taking it & anticipate same for when I go up. Similar to you I’ve had no side effects but have been eating clean as much of the time I can, went out for a lunch & had a starter 😂
For me right now I’m experiencing fluctuating suppression & food noise in the dose cycle but my head is busy reminding me to eat small & drink plenty.

Yes it's frustrating because each time I contact them I get a different response and it can be days of waiting. I believe there was some issue with thr clinician not completing the process properly or my paperwork getting lost 🤔
But I'm hoping I will get a delivery email either today or tomorrow for arrival Monday Tuesday. Keeping everything crossed

Ahardyfool · 22/02/2025 08:15

Thanks @Beverbee it went ok! I slept through the night just fine and have been out and fed the farm animals this morning and the fresh air was good. I wouldn’t say I feel nauseous but possibly on the edge of that. Or is it just lack of appetite translating into feeling a bit sensitive to the thought of food and the closest description is nausea? I definitely don’t feel sick at all. Big suppression. I doubt I’ll eat much at all this weekend and that has become my rhythm… try and not let my stomach get completely empty on the high suppression days, but also don’t sweat it if my cals are super low. Then from Tuesday onwards, increase calories and make sure I eat gently on Thursday ahead of jab day Friday. I keep meaning to check my weekly average cals but I’m pretty sure it’s broadly on plan. My loss is stabilising well and not zooming along - which is what I’m aiming for after a bit of a big loss at the start. If 5mg continues like this I’m a happy woman!
I hope your transition goes well when the time comes. I’m positive that clean eating is really helpful for keeping things manageable in all respects. Don’t know about you but I can see myself adopting the same eating post MJ because I’m enjoying it. Not sure what the food noise will feel like without help but I’m going to weigh twice a month or once a week (I have time to decide!) and adjust diet before things spiral if needed. That’s the plan anyway.

Beverbee · 22/02/2025 08:17

@Margo84
Similar to Shazzabelle, 2 days between prescription being issued & delivery.

I was actually wondering about you on Thursday as I had to contact SheMed about timing of 2nd pen & my holiday & wondered how long I’d wait for a response. They responded very quickly though, later that day.

When I started this journey you’d been doing a lot of waiting. I can’t believe you’re still waiting 🤔

(My blood results came in on 5th Feb day after I’d posted back & pen issued 11th & delivered 13th).

🤦🏼‍♀️ our experiences are miles apart.

Thank you for thinking of me, yes absolutely two ends of the spectrum. It looks like there were issues with my clinical review due to lost paperwork or not following the process which had a knock on effect, then my GP was slow to respond about authorising, now the pharmacy has taken a week to post.
I've messaged and called and it usually takes 2 days for a response. And the response I was getting was it is being processed contact us back in 2 days if you've not have an update which ultimately was a week later by the time I got the second response. And the responses were so contradicting.
It's frustrating medication was prescribed on 17th but I'm still waiting for a tracking email for dispatch. Contacted them was told it should be done in the next 2 days and if not contact them back. but I'm not sure it will be dispatched over the weekend will it?
If not earliest will be Monday or Tuesday. Another week later. It's really disheartening. 😓

Shazzabelle · 22/02/2025 08:37

@Margo84 yeah , I canna see you getting it on a Monday be Tuesday i would imagine or today ??? Well my came royal mail could be different if dpd.
I don't think I got a royal mail email I think I looked at chemist on shemed app and saw tracking there if I remember right but was a few weeks ago x

@Margo84
Very unfortunate about your paper work, glad they found it & you didn’t have to re do bloods.
I didn't get tracking for the blood test or the pen.
My prescription comes from London of which I’m 20 miles North of.
Presumably different parts of the country have different pharmacy services which might reflect a difference.
Fingers crossed your pen comes in the next few days & you can get started 🩷

LazyArsedMagician · 22/02/2025 11:54

I'm almost exactly the same as you but a bit gutted I've only lost about 4kg in the same period and had three weeks stagnating.

I have a coffee when I get up, maybe some fruit during the day and then evening meal, I'm not hungry and a bit of minor constipation (as in, resolved after a few days).

Don't really know what to do. I don't want to change what I'm eating, eating a lot less of it should be enough, surely?! I guess I'm going to have to though.

Edited to add: forgot to say, no issues at all using Shemed. Deliveries come promptly, check ins are quick and easy.

Ahardyfool · 23/02/2025 18:38

For anyone yet to move up to 5mg this much I can tell you:

  1. Massive suppression - but not just the weird psychological suppression where you think less about food. For me, also extreme fullness from eating more than about 5 teaspoons of anything.
  2. Beware said ‘fullness’ leading to nausea if you continue to eat more than said 5 teaspoons of anything.
  3. The mildest of nausea (that I wouldn’t even describe as nausea really as I don’t feel sick or like one might with pregnancy nausea). It’s like the thought of food and eating just turns my stomach.
  4. Hunger feeling more physical (empty tummy causing tummy rumbles) than mental. Stomach goes: “you’ve not eaten” Brain goes: “I’m sorry, what?!”

I am wondering if I’ll get to Wednesday and have something resembling an appetite like I did from week 3 on 2.5mg but somehow think this may not happen during week 1.

how has everyone else in 5mg found things?

Am at the 10kg loss point now and other people noticing so decided to colour my roots and put some glowy tanning drops on my face as I feel infinitely more confident in appearance. Oh, and I bought the L’Oréal glowy stuff that Mumsnet’s recommended the other week and I now feel 25 not 50 so I’m very positive about having taken this step with SheMed.

Yeah I’ve defo had the ‘fullness’ ramp up a notch.
Ate a yoghurt and half an apple as a really late breakfast and 5 hours later I felt like I really should eat but was totally not hungry. Ended up making a ‘dinner’ of chicken, veggies and cous cous, but as soon as I tried the cous cous I’d included I felt stuffed. Gave up and just had the chicken, broccoli and tomato’s to make sure I had protein and greens in the day.

felt like I’d ate a full roast after. But no sickness, just like full, satisfied, glad I stopped eating or I just know I’d be over full. Not nauseous or anything though.

I’m down a stone and half and no one has noticed but I don’t really expect them to yet, I’m down since new years, but still up since this time last year so I don’t really expect comments until I get below the bottom range I go to with my ‘normal’ fluctuations in year.

glad it’s making you positive in yourself though! I must admit I was thinking to myself should I get my hair done to spruce up a bit while all is fine and dandy, or wait for a plateau to make up for a dud week 😂

I totally agree with this. I take my 4th dose of 5mg on Wednesday and I'd say I am only really just starting to be able to eat on day 5 (similar on previous weeks). I've gone for another 5mg for month 3 although I'm hoping it doesn't wear off and leave me wishing I was on 7.5!
I've found myself hungry but just not wanting to eat. I've tended to skip breakfast and then force some yoghurt and fibre for lunch and then a normal meal in the evening which at the start of the week I barely eat.
As at today I've lost 17.8 pounds in almost 7 weeks and one of those weeks I was on holiday! It's an incredible amount of weight loss and I'm lighter than any weight I got to during 2024 and not far off 2023 and 2022s lowest weights! Previous weight loss attempts have been such a struggle and resulted in binge eating. I'm so glad to be on mj!

Shazzabelle · 24/02/2025 01:19

@Ahardyfool well done 10kg gr8 ! interesting reading as I am approaching week3 on 2.5

Shazzabelle · 24/02/2025 01:34

@LazyArsedMagician I guess everyone's different with their loss but 4kg is still decent , are you drinking plenty water too? . Interesting reading as am only approaching week 3 on 2.5 ( check in tommorrow) and am wondering what it will be like when I move up to 5 .

Shazzabelle · 24/02/2025 01:39

@tinyemmy well done on your loss especially as 1 week being on holiday . Interesting hearing how everyone getting on in 5mg ( am only week 2 day 6 ) I would stay on 5 for sure if I was you too sounds like it's very effective for you .

Holiday planning.

For planning info if you don’t know this already.

I’m at the very beginning of my journey & on my first pen. I will be away for my 3rd jab & didn’t want the next pen issued at the time of the questionnaire as it would arrive before I got home.
I messaged from the app & had a quick response back.

Typically we try to have your next pen delivered so that it is available by the time you need to administer your injection. However, yes you can delay filling in the refill questionnaire, and that will result in the delay for the refill process for the next pen. If you may possibly need to, you can request an early refill now that you have completed your second check-in by clicking on the 'Medication' tab, and then clicking on 'Request early refill' to get the refill process started.

I was quite surprised to read I could order early at this stage of the journey but decided I’d chose this option & hope it arrives before Saturday & be ready for my return.

Two working days later & payment has just gone from my account.

My app hasn’t been updated yet so I don't know if I’ve been issued 5mg but TBH I’m happy to stay on 2.5 as I’ve had a little abdominal pain this past few days.

They will almost definitely put you up to 5, it's only severe side effects that remain on 2.5 and then you can hold on the 5 for a bit. I will see how month 2 on 5 goes to decide what happens next but I will appreciate the extra time to get used to 5 (and expect weight loss to slow down)

BestDIL · 24/02/2025 09:53

I've waited to see how I am after a few days on 5mg. I took my first dose last Thursday and I felt quite rough - lethargic, heartburn, nausea. Was quite worried that I wouldn't be able to continue.
Woke up Friday morning and all side effects have gone but my word the suppression is something else. I'd found that 2.5mg wasn't cutting it in the second half of the week and I had stagnated in my weight loss. One pound on and then stayed the same.

Hopped on the scales this morning and 3lbs off since Thursday so I'm very happy.
As for diet, I am making sure that I have plenty of protein, fibre and veggies. I do still have a small amount of fat in my diet as without it, I suffer with constipation. My old Weightwatchers consultant told me once that your body needs fats and likened it to running a car without oil!

SW 15st 10lbs
CW 14st 9lbs
GW 11st

BestDIL · 24/02/2025 09:55

@Margo84 any news on your prescription? My first was delivered by Royal Mail and the second by DPD. Both from the same pharmacy so no consistency!
There was no tracking on the app at all but I received an email from the pharmacy with tracking details.

I do hope you get it soon so that you can get started on this incredible journey x

Were you able to choose whether you moved up to 7.5mg or stay on 5mg?
