So today I've now received another email, as I'm sure you all have with an update just incase anyone else is waiting.

I've been waiting now 2 1/2 weeks since blood results. Anyone else waited that long?

It says....
Following our previous email. We know you’re eagerly waiting for confirmation of your SheMed Weight Loss Programme onboarding, and we truly appreciate your patience. It's still taking a little longer than expected for our clinical team to carefully review each application. Don’t worry—your place in the programme is secure. We are working as quickly as possible to ensure every assessment is thorough so that you receive the best possible care. Most importantly, you will not miss out on your £99 Adherence Programme Offer As long as you meet the clinical criteria, your spot is guaranteed. We expect to have your confirmation to you soon, and you’ll receive an email and push notification as soon as you’ve been onboarded.Thank you again for your patience—we’re excited to have you on this journey with us and can’t wait to support you every step of the way. Warmest regards The SheMed Team

It does seem as if they are struggling with the uptake at the moment. It must be so frustrating for you waiting all this time. If you have the NHS app, you might see something on your records if they have been in touch with your GP. Might be worth having a look. I have notes on my record and also a document showing a copy of the form I filled in when I first applied.

Hang in there, it'll be worth it. x

Back from a weekend away and need to do my check in. Scales are saying a 6lb loss, but I would normally weigh first thing and I've eaten lunch today, so I know that will be more by morning!

Quite proud of myself, as I've been away with a friend who doesn't know I'm doing this, and I've managed to stick to around 1200 calories by ordering low cal options when out, and only had a couple of drinks. Plus the food noise has most definitely returned the past couple of days, but I've managed to not give in Smile

That's brilliant - well done you. 👏 Yes, I notice that the food noise comes back around day 5-6 and it's annoying. Just remember that you are only on the dose that is getting your body ready for the next level. I believe that the food noise completely disappears on the higher doses x

Thank you travelforthesoul. There was actually nothing in the box explaining how to inject, BUT this morning, I did find the instructions on the app like you said. However they weren't on the app when I looked yesterday so they must have updated the app once they knew I had delivery. Thank you for your help - it made me check again. Managed it fine this morning 👍

Morning that's it I've checked and jabbed eeeeeeek excited but scared shitless 💩🤣🤣🤣

Kebabo · 11/02/2025 12:35

Good luck all jabbers! I move to 5mg pen tomorrow. I have had no side effects other than mild constipation. Worried what going up might bring. Have lost 9.6kg or about 1 1/2stone in the first 3 weeks. Weigh in tomorrow.

Good luck @Shazzabelle
Keep hydrated & don’t over eat is what I’ve taken away so far to limit side effects.
Did my blood test last Tuesday & had results on Wednesday evening.
Just doing the waiting game to see if I’m accepted now. 🤞🏼

What is intriguing me now is to what degree it's the MJ jabs that are causing the weight loss without changes to exercise and diet routine, or are people (like me) now thinking they MUST ALSO be on a low calorie diet and exercising like crazy? I know they recommend reducing calories and upping exercise, which causes weight loss anyway. I suppose I'm wondering how different/faster the rate of weight loss is compared to when people exercised and dieted before, without MJ?

Also, has anyone lost weight using MJ alone without changing exercise levels or diet?

Beverbee · 11/02/2025 13:26

Just replied to @Shazzabelle saying I was still waiting & a few minutes later I noticed a message on my phone that the payment has come out of my bank a/c
I’ve been accepted!
Very pleased to join you all!!! 🩷

My take on it this

  1. It's costing me a fortune so I'm going to do everything I can to help it along, but in a sustainable way.
  2. The MJ is the missing piece that allows you to easily stick to whatever eating plan you choose
  3. I have lost all sense of what normal portion sizes are so I'm counting for now until I get a better sense, but not planning on doing it forever
  4. When you hit the right dose it's almost impossible to over eat, but lots of people end up under eating which is niether healthy or sustainable so it's handy to be aware of that in case you need to squeeze more calories in.

I'm sure there are other reasons as well but those are the ones I can think of now.

I don't understand how people are losing weight with no change to diet or increasing exercise. My understanding is that MJ works in two ways:

  1. It slows your digestive system down so that you feel fuller for longer
  2. It triggers something in your brain that "turns off the food noise"

Therefore, it can't work if you don't either reduce your intake and eat more healthily and/or take up some form of exercise.

supercatlady · 11/02/2025 16:31

It aims to reduce appetite so people will be changing their diet as a result of this. I guess exercise is optional though it’s encouraged to avoid muscle wastage. I’m hoping I’ll be more inclined to exercise when I’m slimmer. Fingers crossed! Still waiting on approval here.

Newshoesnewname · 11/02/2025 16:34

Also, many people report that they don't want or can't eat unhealthy food any longer and are naturally craving better food..

I had a terrible reaction to fish n chips last week. I won't be having them again this week that's for sure 😁

This is my worry. I was on Wegovy for 4 months and didn't lose a thing as I wasn't dieting or exercising.

I've found that if I have anything slightly unhealthy, white bread for example, the indigestion is awful. Certainly puts me off having it again. 😂

May I ask how long people have been waiting from between getting their blood results and then being accepted or getting their medication.
Just my current wait is over 2 weeks but I do believe people are getting through quicker ?

I've tried contacting them but I'm getting no response from them. 😓 just want to start my journey. Or know one way or the other.

For me, it was 5 days between posting blood off and hearing I was accepted.

Hi @Margo84 I finally signed up on 31st Jan so was in the last rush wave. I received & did my blood test last Tuesday, results the following evening & notification today 1 week after sending bloods off. I wonder if there’s tiers in the review process dependent on health questionnaire answers & blood results?
