Woohoo. I’ve not had a satisfying poo since I started MJ so I’m envious 😂

I ate too much crappy food then had a day of protein so it seems to have helped 😂

I’ve not had any symptom issues on 7.5mg. I was really scared but I guess following the steps has worked for my body to adjust. (Early days though)

mustwashmycurtains · 14/01/2025 13:40

Hurrah! this morning's weigh in I cracked the 90kg barrier for the first time in a couple of years -

SW - 97kg (started MJ early Nov)
CW - 89.9kg
GW - 69kg

And I managed 7 mins running on treadmill at the gym (to be clear ,there were a couple of short breaks but that's still an achievement for me)

BagQueenBee · 14/01/2025 15:35

Just a quick update, I’m on my first 5mg pen, still 2 doses to go as do the 5th dose.

Feeling great, eating well and most days am a few hundred under my deficit…..I do need to up my fibre and protein intake, which I am working on…I don’t like the protein drinks or bars so that’s not an option.

I think if i still feel good next week I will order 5mg again….its hard to decide as dont want to regret it mid pen and cant afford extra pen if i do mess up.

It great to be part of this group and read how everyone is doing.
I started at 28 stone on 22/11/24 and so have a long way to go….but i know this is exactly what I needed and it’s lifted me so much it’s hard to describe.

I have lost 22 1/2 pounds so far, and i hope to get to 2 stone loss in next 2 weeks = 51/2 lb??? 🤞

Quick question: has anybody given blood whilst on Mounjaro? A friend wants to go on it but is a regular blood donor and doesn't want to stop.

Arglefraster · 14/01/2025 17:53

Thank you for all the injection site reaction suggestions. Flowers
Despite knowing it would be wise to take an antihistamines prophylactically I just can't let an experiment go to waste so will be keeping all the conditions the same except for using a syringe (& therefore longer needle).
I will report my findings!

murraymcgill · 14/01/2025 18:55

@Mounjaropen this 7.5 isn't doing it for me ok I'm eating less but thays down to me and my will power don't know what to do

Della82 · 14/01/2025 19:28

Have just bought some Aveeno skin renewal firming lotion, will report back on it!
@Mounjaropen I will investigate skin crack too!
have had a mini whoosh so am hopeful I will have a positive update on Thursday!
well done everyone on their results! If you’re having a plateau your whoosh will come! 💪

A surprise 1lb loss this morning…🥳 mind you, I ate pretty much nothing yesterday after ferrying around DD unexpectedly, forgetting to bring my blood test form to a blood test (spent an hour driving to and from that for no reason 😭) then when I had booked a lovely relaxing pedicure I spent the entire treatment dealing with a flood in my late in-laws house (looks like the pipe burst 3 days ago and it is a 2.5 hour journey away.. 😩)

Before MJ I’d have sacked off exercising and sunk 4 glasses of wine, but I did a 47 min Pvolve class instead and had a lovely herbal tea. Weirdly I felt more able to cope with the aggravation than I would’ ve done before MJ. I’m now up early to get my steps and Pvolve in before I face the journey to start the clear up operation.

Truly life changing. 💪

Fantastic for that weight loss and for such a great headspace despite a challenging day!! Imagine many positive happy emoji’s…which my fried brain has just remembered how to do 🎉🎉🎉👏👏💪💪😁

MsRumpole · 13/01/2025 15:47

Persuaded myself that 2.5mg now completely ineffective, ate gigantic burger lunch as a kind of last hurrah pending move up to 5.0mg on Friday. Now feeling extremely sorry for myself and realising that 2.5mg still significantly affecting my overall capacity 😬

I totally know that! In my second month of 2.5 my food noise was much worse and I did have bigger portions but the result was always horrible indigestion 🤦‍♀️ So far on 5mg (3 days in), food noise has gone again, so I’m eating less, and less indigestion so feeling better on the higher dose! Wishing you an indigestion free 5mg experience 😁🤞

I’m scheduled to give blood in a couple of weeks. I’ve read there is no issue being on any WLI but you have to have been on the same dose of any medication for the 4 weeks before donation.

jaromoun · 14/01/2025 21:11

i did something possibly a bit silly today.

saturday i gave myself the 5mg bonus dose using an insulin syringe and realised there was probably still half a dose left. today i've had zero suppression, ate two brownie bites because they were just there and generally found myself mindlessly eating despite being quite busy and having prepped healthy snacks and lunch. i'm on target for daily calories according to neutracheck but only because i pulled myself up when i realised i was slipping into old habits.
i have given myself the remaining half dose tonight so in effect i've had 7.5mg in the week over 4 days.

i ordered a 5mg pen again (due to start it saturday) as i was really struggling with the side effects on 5mg so i didn't want to move up.

it looks like i'm going to need to spend the next 4 weeks knuckling down on 5mg and working hard not to mindlessly overeat.

on the plus side i'm remaining under 80kg fluctuating between 79 and 79.5kg.

i think those initial big losses can lead to a bit of frustration when things slow down, just like with any diet.

Are you using the Shotsy app? It’s interesting to see how much MJ it predicts is in your system.

Be warned…I had a blood test yesterday to check my testosterone levels. My arms is bruised like I’ve never seen - and the phlebotomist was excellent - didn’t feel a thing. So bizarre!

Well done! Just stick with natural proteins and fibres - nuts/dates are excellent for fibre. Can you up your egg/lean protein intake?

🥳 congratulations!

Try walking briskly for longer (30mins or more) and up the % incline each week. I’m way fitter now than I ever was when my cardio was running. It’s easier to be consistent and you are less likely to give up.

Quick update here W10 D2.

SW 12st 13

This morning I was 11st 6.75 - lowest reading on scales yet, but that is 1.5lbs off from Sunday's official weigh in, which always carries some Saturday excess 😬.

10.75 lbs to go to target

I'm getting really comfortable with using intermediate doses by click counting and using separate syringe for bonus dose. Having done a few weeks at 3.75, moved to 4, then 5 and this week 6. This is really helping to keep suppression consistent as the body adjusts. For those struggling with the dose steps, I would really recommend incremental steps.

I've been lucky though - only side effects have been insomnia night of jab and some very faint nausea in the first 24hrs. I feel for those of you suffering with bouts of awful D&V - horrendous to have to put up with this.

Hi, can I ask where you buy your syringes, please? Thanks

Mounjaropen · 14/01/2025 22:25

jaromoun · 14/01/2025 22:11

i'm not @Mounjaropen. what's it about?

you enter your weight, date, time and doseage (I backdated and entered all of my jabs) and it predicts how much active MJ is in your system. I injected 5mg yesterday and it is showing a predicted active level today of 6.16mg. It might help you understand at what point you are likely to have the lowest suppression?

i’m doing pretty well 3 days into 5mg, in that heartburn has been less, but oh my goodness am I exhausted! Although I am wondering if a strange shakey/shivery moment at lunchtime (before having eaten anything) might have been hypoglycaemia. I had a very stressful morning and I thought it was that initially, but I have never responded to stress like that before, and it sorted out very quickly after I started eating peanut buttter. Has anyone else had that? I have been doing the 16:8 since I started Mounjaro so I am not sure why it happened today.

PinkArt · 14/01/2025 23:19

I'd get that quite a lot pre-MJ, usually a bit before tea time. It's one of the ways I can feel MJ is doing more than just appetite suppression as it's not happened once, even on the days I've barely eaten anything.
I keep an emergency bag of mini haribo in my bag in case it happens and I need to up my blood sugars quickly. Peanut butter is probably a muuuch healthier fix but I needed something fast acting for when I felt faint on the tube.

I’ve had that. I’ve eaten a couple of dates, had some water and felt better quite quickly afterwards. At the start of 5mg I felt quite tachycardic but that has lessened over time, plus I’ve significantly reduced the amount of caffeinated coffee I drink.

Greetings from the US. Goodness, it's hard to eat healthily here. I ended up going to Whole Foods to buy fruit and overnight oats for dinner. I was really looking for salad, but everything was covered in mayonnaise... And the portion sizes! Don't get me started on the crazy portion sizes...
