I really need something to spur me on. I need to lose at least 4 stone .
my questions-
does it really work?
how strict is the diet you are following alongside the injections? ( I was thinking of following a 3 meal a day high protein, low ish carbs and reduce sugar intake, but is this enough? Make sure.)
side effects? How bad are they , I commute and have a long working day, with not great access to toilets.

Try it op, start on the lowest dose take it on the start of your two days off if you get two together so that you can rest if you feel tired and follow your own advice of three smaller high protein meals with plenty of water as well. It worked for me, I'm 4 stones down.

glittermittens · 28/12/2024 15:56

I'm on my fourth injection now and side effects have been ok, headaches and nausea and a little tiredness, but nothing else really.
I eat high protein and low carb, usually manage just 2 main meals a day, with a little fruit in between. I'm 10lbs down so far.

Dairymilk99 · 28/12/2024 17:48

Yes it really works. I’ve lost 5 stone since May. Generally I have two meals a day and mostly low carb with the odd fruit snack in between. You will find quickly what works for you - fatty food seems to give me a dodgy tummy, injection site also mattered early stages for me (injecting in tummy gave me diarrhoea) and make sure you drink enough. But it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done and would highly recommend it.

Bigredcombine · 28/12/2024 18:25

It's changed my life. Just do it!

diian · 28/12/2024 18:55

It has been life changing and life enhancing for me too. 3 stone lighter in 4 months, from obese to a healthy BMI.

My advice, go for it, read the instructions carefully, watch youtube videos of how to inject. Stay on the lowest dose if it is working. Titrate up slowly to avoid side effects. I had 'the runs' when I went up a full dose (from 5mg to 7.5mg) and it was awful. So I ended up back at 5mg, then back to 3.75mg as the runs did not stop. That is where I stayed until I reached goal. I am now a size 12 rather than size 16/18.

If you read through some of the threads on here you will see that they do work.

Willowy1982 · 28/12/2024 19:11

I've lost nearly 4 stone since August and I'm now at my ideal weight. With regards to side effects there's no way of knowing how you will be affected. I've had no negative side effects and it's been a really easy journey. You just need to inform yourself of possible side effects but there's no guarantee you will have them. The only way to know if it's for you is to start.

Searchingforthelight · 28/12/2024 19:15

Another vote to 'just do it'!

They are life altering and miraculous for the vast majority of users.

It's the best investment I have ever made in myself- I thought I was absolutely finished, weight/ subsequent health-wise

But now I'm shopping for cute size 10 dresses for work in the new year.

Absolute miracle drug!

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 28/12/2024 19:24

I've lost two stone since early October.

I basically don't really feel hungry and don't think about food. I've got to remind myself to eat and when I've had enough I just give up and stop eating. Over time I've learnt just to get a small portion and have a bit more if I feel like it (I never do).

I can't remember the last time I craved a chocolate biscuit with a cup of tea, it just doesn't even occur to me so I don't feel at all deprived.

I prioritise fibre and protein when I'm eating.

Vegemite123 · 28/12/2024 21:48

I’ve got on really well with them. BMI has dropped from 31.5 to 27 in 13 weeks. Some nausea, so sometimes I delay breakfast if I have to be active first thing. The nausea has been quite bad on a couple of occasions but this has always been related to a high fat meal. Initially I was super tired. I get some dizziness when I stand up quickly.

I use nutracheck to track calories. I average 9500 steps a day and eat 12-1500 calories. While I’ve lost weight previously, I’ve always found it incredibly difficult and I’ve been terribly hungry. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an effort now. But it’s manageable!

Gintime74 · 28/12/2024 21:49

All sounds really positive thank you so i am going to go for it. Does anyone have reccomendations for which brand and company to buy from?

Lola3034 · 28/12/2024 23:26

There are threads with advice for a new starters in here, full of fantastic ideas and tips for a new starters if you decide to go for it. For most of the people, the side effects are manageable. Hopefully you'll have good response to it too. In a worst case, stock up on some immodium instants and rennie and you'll be fine.

Jabtastic · 28/12/2024 23:33

Lots of people have great results on them. I wasn't one of them. I had awful side effects and it really messed my digestive system up. I felt much better when I stopped them. It was a disappointment really.

I'm sharing this not to put you off but just to make you aware. There are others like me but I think we tend to stay quiet on threads because we don't want to be negative. Because of that the threads tend to be full of people getting good results (which is great I'm happy for them) but for some of us we're not so lucky. I hope they help you!

mysparkleismissing · 28/12/2024 23:36

I'm also very tempted to give it a go

Ruthietuthie · 28/12/2024 23:40

I have lost 60 lbs since April. It has been AMAZING. I didn't diet at all, more followed my appetite and ensured that I ate protein first at each meal. I simply didn't fancy the fatty, cheesy, creamy, carby foods I had always been drawn to before. It is the best and easiest thing I have ever done. Absolutely no side effects. I am now maintaining easily at a lower weight than I have been since I was a teenager (BMI 23, whereas before the lowest I had briefly reached (before gaining al the weight back again very quickly) was BMI 26). I am someone who has struggled with my weight since I was a child - I have honestly thought about it every single day for the last forty years - and now that struggle is gone. Go for it!

It is always worth to read the negative stories too so people know what to expect. Wen I decided to go for it, I gave myself 1 month to see how I respond to it. I expected the worst to be honest and if it didn't work out for me then the plan was to stop and not order another pen. I am actually amazed that some people carry on despite terrible side effects. I don't think I would be able to.

I had bad side effects on week 1 at 2.5 and so I spent months on 1.25. Even now, four months later, I am only on just over 3. I’m over 30 pounds down. That first week was really bad, time off work bad. I’m glad my body could tolerate it in the end but it seems I am very very sensitive to it. These boards are interesting as you’ll see lots of different experiences.

It's really interesting that it worked for you at a lower dose! Happy you found a solution!
