Gearing up for a JANUARY start!

Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

I’m starting to feel a little disheartened-my starting weight was 85.7kgs. I went down to 83kgs but then my period started. It was threatening for ages (over a week of light spotting when normally it is 2-3 days) and it has been the worst period I have ever had. The period cramps have been like early labour pains and the clots are huge. Apparently this is normal on MJ. I’ve been really hungry but using every ounce of willpower I possess and sticking to my protein and cals, and I’m back up to 85.5kg 😭. Three days into my proper period and the scale hasn’t budged, so in 2 weeks and a massive calorie deficit I’m only down 200g 😭😭.

I originally was thinking about 5 mg but I had some sides affects after second jab. My next injection is on Friday if sides effects are similar then no way I can cope with 5mg or even 3.75 also I want to feel hunger and don’t want to loose too much to quick. If I wouldn’t force myself to eat on some days I could live without food. I think higher does would make eating even more difficult so I decided to stick to 2.5mg, lower does easier to come off at the end.

Wait wait wait wait wait-I take back what I just said!! I’ve just measured my waist. On Saturday my waist was 118cm, today it is 104cm 😱😱😱. Take measurements!! Amazing!!!! ❤️❤️

Do most providers just automatically send you 5mg for the second month? Or do you have to request it?

I am sticking on 2.5mg. In fact as there was a deal I ordered two pens as I’ve got good suppression and have less than two stone to lose. Also not sure if the illness I had last week was a bug or not so erring on the side of caution

Hello can I join? 👋Haven't been on MN for ages but thought I would jump in as I've made the decision (after talking to my GP) to go on Mounjaro: GP was very pro.

I'm in the menopause & weight piling on & it's so disheartening. BMI is 28.5 but was just approved, as I have a couple of other risk factors. Hopefully MJ will be shipped soon ... what should I have in mind while starting? I'm completely a newbie to this. Good luck to everyone else starting in september!

If you on subscription based then as far as I know they will send you 5 mg pen if you not advised them otherwise. If you just ordered one pen then your provider will email you asking if you want the same dose or higher one, you just need to fill in another form if you want a higher dose.

Hi all! I'm starting my journey tomorrow and I'm equally excited and scared. Any advice for the first couple of days? I've bought a ton of supplements and high protein foods and shakes. EEEEEKKKKKK!! 😁

I had my pen for 3 weeks before I used it. I was scared off sides effects. I am on my second week now. Some sides effects after second jab but felt fine after 48 hours so I am glad I did it!

My advice would be drink lots of water and good luck!

It is a guy looking at the science behind GLP-1s. DH wasn’t really aware of all the evidence that is starting to come through so to have someone pull it together was really good. It is an hour long and won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but well worth a watch I feel.

We hear a lot about the importance of resistance training to offset the loss of muscle that comes with it and he went into that explaining that those who do it whilst using Mounjaro lose a bit slower but do significantly better with weight regain when they come off. I haven’t been to the gym for huge amounts of years so need to think about it all. It did motivate me to find some that are around and have a quick go!

I’m so glad they keep the referral codes on one thread now. I think the pharmacies that do them are very shortsighted and the use of these codes have contributed to some of the negative media on WLI. Not adverse to discount codes but the referral aspect puts a whole different spin on it. The price comparison site is really helpful and very grateful to whoever started that one.

I am just browsing through providers and Pharmacy4u have really good prices. I am not keen on changing the provider as I always worry if I hit the overweight level they will stop me from buying another dose but I might change a mind😬.

I had one slice of dominoes pizza this evening alongside some healthy food and that has been mistake number 1. Burp central!!

Took my first jab on Friday. Didn't feel any side effects til Saturday when I felt really sick all afternoon and threw up my lunch
Sunday I had horrible cramps which made me scared to eat. I reduced my usual portion size by 2/3 which has worked for me. No further issues and I've lost 3lb already
