Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

Whoops! Maybe poor mental arithmetic is a side effect. 11st 6lbs

SilentMind · 06/01/2025 21:45

I just emailed Medexpress as I am also with them. Last time they told me to order after the second jab, which would be now! Don’t want to run out of it.

Seriously!

this wind and diarrhoea!

when does it stop?
what is making it worse??

I cannot do this for months

@timeforachange25 sorry to hear you're having such horrible side effects and sorry if you're already doing all these things too- but based on my obsessive reading online it seems people getting minimal side effects if they're drinking at least 2l water a day, sticking to low sugar and high protein food and avoiding booze and anything oily and greasy.
I really hope these side effects pass for you ASAP as must be miserable.
You could also try another WLI instead of MJ to see whether side effects are better?

So today, it was the ultimate test - baking. For context, I love baking! And I also love eating what I bake and 'sampling' as I bake 😉 Both kids were still off school today, so I baked with them in the attempt to keep them off screens for at least a bit. And I didn't fancy licking the spoons, or bowls, or eating the finished bakes. At all! I'm standing in front of a tray with chocolate-covered profiteroles as I type, and I don't want to eat them!!! Me!!! This is mind-blowing.
The thing is, I still enjoy food while I'm eating it, but it doesn't make me want to eat more just for the taste. This is like a personality change Grin

Anyone still waiting on MedExpress?

I ordered 2 January- uploaded picture and id .. got an email today saying my picture was no good ( leggings and sweatshirt)

so I sent one in with me in shorts and tshirt - then a return email saying that was no good either… so.. did one in knickers and bra… (yum)

now waiting … is there an issue with MedExpress and this some delay tactic, as I’ll just ask for a refund and go else where if they are going to be this useless.

I ordered last Monday and it arrived today. Exactly a week but that included the bank holiday

Ah thanks; I had missed that I’d also get an email from Royal Mail. Just super keen to start and have been preparing myself for a Thu evening initial jab. I don’t work Fridays so wanted 3 days clear in case I’m hit hard with side effects. Are you starting this week too @JoJothegerbil ?

I am. Just waiting for my pen so hopefully before the weekend.

Laura7010 · 06/01/2025 23:09

FattyBumBumNoMore · 06/01/2025 20:12

For those of you who order via Zava, do you receive a tracking number? I was approved for my first dose over the weekend, my order is now marked as ‘done’ but when I click the tracking, there’s no number for the Royal Mail app to search.

I had the same problem, I messaged and they replied with it. However I can’t seem to get royal mail tracking to even load! I made a complaint that the tracking and delivery are disappointing and I then reviewed a royal mail email letting me know it’s being delivered tomorrow, the very last estimated day. I won’t be in so I hope they take it next door otherwise I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get it

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 06/01/2025 23:15

Those of you who've started... How soon have you felt side effects (if you have)? I'm just wondering if it's literally that afterniin/night/next day?

bluebee17 · 06/01/2025 23:16

Thelittlestranger · 06/01/2025 21:21

@Zempy I ordered mine after you, and am now on my second week..

Edit - sorry, that should be to @bluebee17

Edited

Literally just had an email to say it's been dispatched

DGonMJ · 07/01/2025 05:33

Day 3 and I’ve lost 2.3kg already! I know it’s probably just water weight…but last time I dieted it took me three months to lose just 1.5kg.

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 07/01/2025 06:10

That’s incredible @DGonMJ!

What I ate yesterday after first dose:
4 cups of tea - would normally have about 8!
Satsuma
Chicken mince and cauliflower for dinner.. Sounds grim but is lovely with olive oil and spices.
1 one of my kid’s cupcakes that they made.

I wouldn’t say I felt particularly appetite suppressed and struggling to eat - I was peckish at times - but it was easy going to coast through the day without having much.

Is anyone with MedExpress? I got my first dose from there but now reading a lot about maintenance plans and wondering if I am better switching now to somewhere that has long terms plans rather than wait until I’ve (helpfully) got down to a healthy BMI and risk not being able to get a prescription. Imagine having to pile all the weight back on just to get it again.

TicTac80 · 07/01/2025 06:13

Morning all! This is nuts. Just weighed myself and it's now 73.7kg. I'm about to go to work, and I've made myself up a protein shake as I think it will be an easy way to get in a good amount of protein each day. Also taking in some homemade veggie soup (which does have lentils in it!!). It will be interesting to see if I feel hungry at work, or if I want to eat any of the numerous chocolates etc that people bring in. Hope everyone has a good day :)

First sign of sides effects started 24h after my injection.

I am with them for now but debating where to order my second pen. In some ways don’t want to switch the providers so they won’t cut me off after my BMI is below 30 but also worrying about maintenance plan.

I've started feeling the side-effects in the night, after taking the shot in afternoon / early evening (I've done 2 shots).

First time the side-effects went on a few days (mainly nausea). Second shot I had side effects that night and the day after. I've just woken up to W2D3 and feel surprisingly good, so I'm hoping the main side-effects are done with for the week.

For me the nausea is increased by the lack of sleep, as I keep waking to keep drinking water.

EverybodySayCheeze · 07/01/2025 06:38

Just waiting for my first dose to be delivered and want to get myself ready. Any general tips?
I’ve a food order coming today with lots of fresh veg and fruit, but I’m reading lots about people struggling to get enough protein. Are there any protein shakes anyone recommends? My only knowledge of them are from body builders trying to bulk up - which seems counterintuitive 🤣 - anyone have a recommendation on one that will fill me up and taste ok?

SilentMind · 07/01/2025 07:15

Some people are recommending Ufit high protein milkshakes.
I take multivitamins, extra vitamins D,B magnesium, omega and drinking lots of water or herbal tea.

Laura7010 · 07/01/2025 07:47

Morning all,

my first pen should arrive today. I ideally want to get started asap. However looking to about 6 weeks down the line I’m off to the US for a week and don’t want to take it with me. If I have Tuesday as my injection day but then have to wait until the Friday/Saturday will this cause me an issue? Looking to see whether those with experience think I’ll be ok or if I should be patient and start this Friday instead?

IwasatMandStoday · 07/01/2025 08:09

I have went 9 days between jab twice and everything was ok. You will be fine delaying it.

Mounjarry · 07/01/2025 08:21

Is anyone else planning on doing their first dose this weekend? Mine has arrived but thinking because of work will do it Friday morning and then have the weekend if it's rough?

I did this for the same reason but injected last Saturday morning so I could see what effect it had and be aware of it… thankfully I only had very mild nausea for an hour or two and have been tickets boo since 😊

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 07/01/2025 08:29

I couldn’t finish my second tea this morning. Unheard of.

Grecianrainbow · 07/01/2025 08:34

Day 5 and I’m a bit hungry this morning, but not ravenous. Hoping for an ok time after 2nd dose as I’m working the days after! Is anyone else doing this whilst working shifts?

Borntofollow · 07/01/2025 09:15

Lost nearly 5lbs week 1, 2nd jab on Saturday and lost 1/2 pound by Sunday. Monday, weighed myself and had put back on the 5lbs overnight...

Weighed again this morning and weight still the same - nearly back to starting weight.

The sensible part of my brain knows that I've not had enough calories to put 5lbs on and I'm due my period any day now and it's likely to be caused by that. But still, 10 days in and being back to starting weight is not a nice feeling! Especially after a steady loss the first week.

Previously, I would have seen something like that and would have spiralled - "well, if I'm not going to lose weight, I may as well be eating all the food". But I haven't. I've stuck at 1300 calories the past two days and just hoping that when hormones sort themselves out, I'll see a drop.

That has to be pre period water weight!
