Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

Just joining you January starters as am awaiting my blood testing kit which will hopefully confirm I’m able to start. Hopi mg for advice on sensible food plan to avoid side effects as much as possible…

KazzaV · 31/12/2024 17:44

I got my pen today and doing a programme Counterweight through my GP ( live in the Channel Islands ) it’s a porridge / shake / soup VLCD with MJ - anyone else doing this ?

Seaitoverthere · 31/12/2024 17:46

@FuzzyFeelingFairy what a wonderful start to 2025!

I haven’t seen it but I think there is an eating plan on My Fitnesspal designed for people taking WLI.

Waffles21 · 31/12/2024 18:02

Thanks everyone, ordered with MedExpress, was confirmed so hoping it’ll be here soonish! Would love to join you all!
happy New Year and here’s to being lighter and healthier next year!
I’m post menopause, put 3 stone on during COVID on an already 2 stone excess so I have about 5 stone to lose. Nothing has worked, f800 did but as soon as I stopped it went back on. I’m an all or nothing girl so really looking forward to this helping curb my appetite, I’m planning a med style diet maybe 1500 calories a day. Looking forward to hearing about your journeys!

emmsyg · 31/12/2024 18:40

My pen was supposed to be delivered today but no sign of it and tracking says it’s still in London (I’m in Northern Ireland) - a bit worried now that it’s going to be sitting in a warehouse somewhere for at least tomorrow and hoping it arrives Thursday now so I can start!

cloudjumper · 31/12/2024 19:59

First dose is in. Now I'm trying to not symptom-spot Grin

How long did it take those of you who've taken dose(s) until you noticed an effect?

Kibble29 · 31/12/2024 20:10

That’s my pen been delivered. Will inject later in the week and get this show on the road.

BabaGanouch · 31/12/2024 20:12

MuddledMiddle · 31/12/2024 13:49

Hi, may I join you?

I have around 6.5 stone to lose, and I have just had my first pen delivered and it's in the fridge waiting. I'm not 100% sure when to start.

I'm eager to start losing, but I'm debating whether start today/tomorrow and not enjoy one last bank holiday? Or to just crack on.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom or advice?

Thanks all!

It’s best to have eaten lightly the day before the injection as the drug slows down your digestive system

I felt an effect not long after taking it. I had my first shot on Friday afternoon and by the evening I could certainly feel it- not hungry, not interested in snacking and food.

I noticed an effect about 7 hours in with appetite suppression so hopefully you'll feel something soon!

Oh I wish this was me. I had my first shot this morning and just polished off a curry :( was hoping I'd feel full after a few bites, but nope! Feel exactly the same as I always do!! ...

Anyone find it takes longer than 12 hours to kick in??

VelvetWildflower · 31/12/2024 21:05

So that Chinese last night, while low in calories, was not a good idea. My gastro issues weren't fun today. I'm assuming it's the oil.

I've eaten mindfully today. A coffee with two sweeteners, some tuna mayonnaise and red onion scooped up with some rounds of cucumber for lunch and bubble and squeak with gravy and one Yorkshire pudding for dinner. Clocks in around 1200 calories for the day.

Starting to feel that familiar boredom hunger now creeping in. Not so much cravings but just wanting to put food into my mouth kind of thing. I'm trying to fill up on water and hope it'll go away but if it doesn't there's a protein yogurt in the fridge I can have that's about 150 calories so shouldn't completely screw things up.

undercoverhero74 · 31/12/2024 21:08

@MjMadness I haven't really felt any suppression yet and I'm on day 4! I'm not snacking but I'm still hungry and have no trouble eating my meals.
I guess for me it's the incentive I need to stick to a calorie deficit and it must be having some effect as it's not as much of a struggle as it usually it 😊

I did wonder if it's was just because I'd eaten everything over Christmas but it has carried on. Today was harder and, whilst I'm
not hungry, the thought of wine and snacks is playing on my mind this evening.

HoulYourWhist · 31/12/2024 21:26

Can I join too please?

So my pen has arrived and is waiting patiently on me in the fridge! I’m going to start tomorrow evening as I read starting at night can help with some of the symptoms? Only one way to find out!

At least 6 stone to lose so I’m in it for the long haul!

Dunkou · 31/12/2024 22:05

A tip for anyone that jabbed today and ends up with reflux tonight. Have two pillows on hand to sleep more upright, and some Rennies.

MjMadness · 31/12/2024 16:15

My husband said loudly (so anyone walking by could hear) "your heroin's arrived" (😵‍💫🤣🤣)

Sometimes I wonder what is actually more frowned upon nowadays: weight loss jabs of drugs 🤣?

Abby8989 · 31/12/2024 22:35

Hi how complicated did you find administering the injection please?

Weight loss jabs for sure!! 😉😉😉😵‍💫

Hi how complicated did you find administering the injection please?

It's super easy! You'll b fine. It didn't hurt me at all and when I injected I felt like I was stabbing my fat which felt very satisfying indeed!! I basically said 'fuck you' as I stabbed the flab!! (Kind of in the hope it would disappear and never come back! But it's still here so I'll stab it and swear at it again next week! Eventually it'll bugger off! 😜)

lto2019 · 01/01/2025 00:33

My pen has arrived from Numan. I have a consultation booked in with them on Thursday. I am not sure whether to wait until after that before I jab myself for the first time. Do people prefer to inject in the morning or evening? I was thinking evening would help offset any side effects because I would be asleep!

I always felt it working the next day.
