Ah that’s interesting, I’ve had a bit of hair loss but then this past week have noticed my hair looking good - I started using a Vit D spray about 3 weeks ago!

Only 1lb off for me this week (thanks to a night of gin and salty snacks, I didn’t go too crazy with it but feel bloaty still from the retention).

SW: 245lbs
CW: 185lbs (60 in total!)
GW: 145lbs - yep it’s a new goal, bring it on!

20bloodypounds · 24/03/2025 11:56

I've noticed some hair loss over the past couple of months, but I think I have this periodically anywhere - change of season and moulting my winter coat?

I'll maybe go back on my vit D capsules...

I've got a holiday coming up in a remote country where medicines are often checked at security and the holiday company advises taking copies of your original prescriptions for any medication. I don't fancy a lengthy questioning, especially infront of other people in the group, so I think I'm going to leave my MJ behind. That means I'd have an injection the morning that I leave, and miss 2 whole weeks, starting again at a slightly reduced dose when I return.

I imagine appetite wise I'll be fine for the first week or 10 days (espcially since I'll have had my injection a day earlier than usual). The remainder will be interesting to see how I am. It won't be a holiday with lots of alcohol, so that temptation will be small (and the inevitable snacking that goes with drinking). I might have to exercise my will power muscle.

After all these months it feels a little daunting to be going without...

Week 30,

I didn't manage to post last week. DH has taken a different job at his current employer so our redundancy worries are finished for now. It's certainly lifted a cloud from the household and stress levels are returning to normal. I had a rotten cold last week though and swung between eating greasy comfort food or fruit with not much in between. The weekend was better though and I'm back to eating regular meals.

I also had had some hair loss, enough to make it feel thinner to me but not noticeable for other people. The drain is always blocked with it though!

It seems to have slowed down now though, I started on collagen but there isn't actually any scientific evidence that consuming collagen increases you're bodies collagen in hair and skin so I stopped.

MandarinDentistTiger · 26/03/2025 23:47

I have stayed the same for a few weeks. It's very frustrating.

Exactly 200 days since my first jab. That's 28 weeks and 4 days. Ideally, I would have like to lose 4 stones, it's more like 3 stones 5lbs. Better than putting weight on which is what would have happened.

I will keep trying. Ordered a new pen, keeping the same dose. I will increase next time if I stay the same.

EBoo80 · 27/03/2025 12:20

Frustrating for you @MandarinDentistTiger - any sense of why? Do you calorie count?

I'm struggling now on final week of 2.5 pen as I titrate down. Hunger is back with a vengeance, but I’m also feeling oddly full and bloated. It’s almost certainly hormonal but a useful reminder of how I got to 3 stone overweight in the first place. Am trying to double down on drinking water and eating protein, but I bought and ate a Twirl yesterday after genuinely not fancying chocolate for 6 months. It wasn’t that great - must try to remember that!

MandarinDentistTiger · 27/03/2025 13:07

I am tracking calories.

I am really busy in work. As a result, I am not moving much or drinking as much water as I should.

Weight changes are a fine balance. I gain weight very easily (glasses of wine) and lose slowly. I am being more vigilant and am down to two meals a day. To boost I could do a 36 hour fast or eat in a more regimented way (same menu at the same time).

My NSV is I bought a dress not in a curve range, size 16. I have a long way to go to be a normal weight. Almost down to the next stone bracket and my next milestone 2.2lbs to go.

I weighed myself an am actually down 1.2lbs this week. If I was losing 2lbs, I would nearly be at target by now. I have never had a big loss like some other people. 2lb is the maximum I have lost on a week, 1lb a week is more usual.

MandarinDentistTiger · 27/03/2025 13:08

I was surprised to have lost weight because I feel 'odd and bloated' too. Well done and keep going.

sylv165 · 27/03/2025 14:37

Slow progress over here too. Due to lots of work travel and kids activities I haven't had as much time to plan and prep food, or to exercise for about 6 weeks now. Every week I tell myself I am going to up my game and sort my life out, but it hasn't happened so far. I'm doing enough to have kept losing, but only just - about 3lbs in that time. But without MJ I would probably be half a stone up so I'm still counting it as a win!

However, I do have a NSV - my kids are both dancers and they challenged me to learn to do the splits. I have actually managed it - although it is in no way graceful, and i haven't yet worked out how to get out of them with any sort of dignity . Still, quite impressed with myself!

jupiterhigh · 27/03/2025 14:38

@MandarinDentistTigerdon’t loose sight of what is bloody brilliant progress. It’s an average of 1.6 pounds a week, which is pretty perfect in terms of weight loss. I had a bit of a plateau a few weeks ago and it’s hard but all part of the process.

Adelstrop · 27/03/2025 15:11

Good to catch up with September starters like me. I'm 38 lbs down, and 1 lb away from being 'overweight' rather than obese. I will be celebrating with an Indian head massage. I can't really see a lot of difference, though this is about the half way point; that's because I am an apple shaped shorty. Ah well, eventually it will show. Still on 5mg as that does the job. Well done to everyone still going strong six months in!

MandarinDentistTiger · 27/03/2025 15:22

@jupiterhigh you are absolutely right. I'm about 3.5 stones down. Had I not started, I would have been heavier.

@Adelstrop I'm in the same position. Not too far away from a key milestone. One that would have been unthinkable six months ago.

OvaHere · 27/03/2025 15:29

I'm officially in maintenance cold turkey style from today. Started at the beginning of September. Below is my journey week by week - in reverse order sorry, it's c&p from the Voy website that lists it that way.

From memory I think I did a month on 2.5mg, month on 5mg, 3 months on 7.5mg and a month on 10mg. I didn't use any of the bonus doses. Voy are quite expensive so I was keen not to stay on it longer than I needed and I couldn't be bothered with the faff of swapping. I was quite fortunate to be a fast loser with minimal side effects. I have weight trained throughout for 2-3 hrs per week.

Had the odd week where I gained but over the month it always evened out.

Hoping I've learned enough to stay somewhere around 10 stone going forward. We will see!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 29/03/2025 07:05

Morning all. I have hit another plateau. It seems to happen about every stone or so, which is really frustrating, but that's life.

I'd like to start tracking my macros more carefully. Does anyone have any recommendations on websites to help me calculate what my macro split should be? I am Peri, so suspect this is going to be important for me. Thanks!

ILoveLeopard245 · 29/03/2025 07:45

Ah it is frustrating @Itisallgoingtobeok . Suspect that I have stalled a bit too. Think I need to go up to 12.5. I ordered a second month of 10mg and things have slowed right down and I’ve stayed the same. I’m eating well and tracking everything on weight watchers app so I will just chip away. I’ve had a plateau before and after weeks of not getting a loss it did suddenly start moving again. So I’m trying to trust the process! Still have about 2 stone to lose, so I will be here for a while.

GoldieLocks09 · 30/03/2025 00:53

@ILoveLeopard245 @Itisallgoingtobeok I’m going through a bit of a stall as well! But I think you’re right, about every stone it seems to hover about the same place for what seems like AGES then suddenly the scales drop and I’ll be on a bit of a losing streak… Trust.The.Process! 🫡
I’m still on 7.5mg and don’t plan to increase, I have some weeks where I feel a bit hungrier but others where suppression is super high. I’m suffering a bit today, which is strange as jabbed on Monday as usual, and if I get anything it’s usually Wednesdays with a bit of a dodgy belly and sulphur burps that hang about for a few days 🤢 (reminds me, what’s everyone’s best remedy for these?!) but today I’ve been on and off the toilet all day, suppression SO high, could only stomach lunch all day and sulphur burps are in fulll force and actually making me feel sick they smell so bad which is quite embarrassing 😳

SpottyBumPony · 30/03/2025 07:47

@MandarinDentistTiger @GoldieLocks09 @ILoveLeopard245 @Itisallgoingtobeok

Stalls can be so disheartening! I read somewhere once that the NHS only consider a stall a problem after 3 months (but I can't find a link for this now).

Have you thought about the usual?

Your TDEE will be lower than when you started.
Are you drinking more alcohol without considering it.
Hormones... a friend of mine doesn't lose through the month then has a big whoosh when her period starts each month.
Are you strength training? If you've lost muscle you will be using less calories.

If you believe set point theory it could be that, Why we eat too much is a good book to read.

InfoSecInTheCity · 31/03/2025 06:23

Monday weigh in and 2,5 lb loss

Starting weight - 217.5 lbs
Current weight - 159.5 lbs
Total loss - 58 lbs

Bumblebeehum · 31/03/2025 20:52

Only 1lb this week (birthday fun to blame!)

SW 245lbs
CW 184lbs

STILL obese!!!

20bloodypounds · 01/04/2025 19:57

@Bumblebeehum but so much less obese! You will get there.

I am taking a low dose and losing very slowly (2lbs last month). But I am losing and I am NOT gaining. It's not as exciting as the first few weeks, but I have never stayed on a diet this long. I also have almost completely got rid of sugar from my diet. Partly because I feel satiated and don't have room for pudding or desert, partly because I just don't feel the craving for sweet things.

However slowly I'm losing weight, everything I read tells me that not eating sugar is a massive benefit to my health. I'll take that.

EBoo80 · 01/04/2025 21:46

I was just thinking this week that my sugar intake has crept back up (still maintaining weight). But I definitely feel worse when having lots of sugar. Pre Mounjaro I would tend to choose eg a cake over a meal (genuinely would often skip lunch and just eat cake) and I don’t ever want to go back there.

Having very little sugar was basically effortless for me on Mounjaro - but I’m craving it again now. Wonder if it’s something chemical or insulin-y.

FlatStanley50 · 02/04/2025 11:18

I've been on a stall the last two weeks since medexpress moved me back down to 5.0mg when my BMI hit 23. So I suppose that works for me for maintenance, but I'd like to lose another half a stone or so. I am moving to Oushk and they have said I can go back up to 7.5mg. On 5.0mg my sugar cravings and food noise came back quite badly, which doesn't bode too well for coming off altogether.

StanleyCup · 02/04/2025 18:16

So i have been on maintenance ( cold turkey) now since the beginning of March. My last jab was 28th Feb of 7.5mg. Thought i would check in for those who might be looking to this stage. I hit 10 stones then but still wanted to lose 4lbs.

First 2 weeks was not too bad- suppose the MJ was still in my system. Then the food noise started creeping in. It has come back strong over the last two weeks. I can also pack the food away like before MJ 😩 Another thing i noticed is food tastes soooooo good now. The sugars, the carbs taste amazing! They didnt when i was on MJ. I have had a couple of binges like pre MJ and find it a little more difficult now to switch the food noise off.

I have not lost a single pound this month and it has been hard to maintain and stick to my maintenance calories and have them really good days i was having on MJ. Im still on 10 stones.

I have a holiday beginning of May and i really was hoping the 4lbs would be off by then. I am going to try and do it without MJ.

Some changes i need to make now that im cold turkey.

Don’t bring the junk food home.

The less processed carbs and sugars i eat the least i crave them. So try and go cold turkey on that too.

Up my workouts to burn more calories

Make sure i have 3 litres of water everyday.

Follow the 80/20 rule to maintain.

EBoo80 · 02/04/2025 18:51

That’s helpful to hear @StanleyCup.
Many of my strategies are actually about eating more and better, because like you I still crave (lots) more when I have any junk: being organised so I don’t succumb to a biscuit or crisps on the move, recognising that if I have one biscuit I can still stop and all is not lost.
brilliant that you are maintaining though (as am I). Focus on that achievement and don’t lose sight of it.
