Keep going. Everyone is different. I gained weight during the menopause but had very few debilitating symptoms like sweats which I was grateful for.

Thank you. That is me too at the moment. Last two days things have actually been going down again, so I am feeling a bit reassured. It is such an emotional business. I am very much hoping work has calmed down in the new year so I can add exercise to my regime. Don’t expect that will help weight loss (hoping for some muscle gain for a start), but I do hope it will help with shape and generally not feeling old before I am!!! 🤞🤞

Great plan. I had one martini yesterday as an aperitif, 3 champagnes and at least 2 glasses of red wine. Less than I would’ve had pre MJ over the same time but I was absolutely slaughtered. It seems I do not learn from my recent experiences 😂

Sounds like you had a fantastic time! Well deserved.

Week 3 on 5ml. Felt awful during week 1 but now no side effects at all. No weight loss last week but I feel noticeably smaller so hoping for a good loss on Thursday. I'm going to stick with the 5 and not move up to 7.5.

That is promising to hear. I’ve had barely any side effects until this week (week 3 on 5mg). Due to jab again today, mulling over whether to do it today or delay till tomorrow (am thinking about staggering slightly in order to jab on Boxing Day next week!).

Goldleafcat · 16/12/2024 08:28

Just over 2lbs off this week. Mixed feelings about this, food wise I had some naughty treats but definitely in moderation, and some days, I didn’t eat much at all due to the long awaited suppression finally kicking in. I definitely indulged in too much wine this weekend though! Feeling quite yucky this morning and craving all the food (mild hangover and jab day not a good combo it seems!). Actually seriously thinking about embracing dry January 😄
Will see how the scales fare this week.

MsRumpole · 16/12/2024 08:32

I'm finding on the 2.5 mg shots that suppression is great for the first three or four days and then gradually reduces. It's a relief I think as I am supposed to be eating around 1800-2000 calories at the moment and I was really struggling to eat more than 1200 which for my height and build is really not enough.

I’d take a 2lb loss right now so well done!

@cadburyegg I had that last week. It made me really down hearted. But the next two days the scales shifted down. I really hope you get the same. Weight is bloody frustrating and it is so disheartening and disappointing when it seems to go the wrong way. I am going to try and keep reminding myself that there are often blips up and down (I think hormones have a lot to do with that), and it is a long game. Hope you see that shift in the right direction soon.

Oh dear. Horrendous diarrhoea and vomiting all night. Awful stomach pains. I think my Mounjaro journey needs to end. I only injected 3.75 and my body is reacting again to like it was 5mg.

You poor thing. Was 2.5mg ok for you? I’d consider dropping down?

Hope it passes quickly, and you manage to get some rest after your terrible night.

Just done my second 5mg jab and keeping everything crossed that last week’s nausea isn’t repeated. That, on top of the suppression, meant I struggled to hit a sensible calorie intake most days which is something I need to work on. Apart from a rogue mince pie yesterday, I have managed to make sure that all my food calories have been healthy ones which is something I guess. And I’ve had to retire my favourite jeans - they got to the point where they looked like I’d borrowed them from someone else. I do have a few pairs that will tide me over, I don’t want to be buying new clothes until I’m nearer where I want to be. I think I have this and the next size down sorted - tops I’m not worried about as they’ll be covered by coats and jumpers anyway.

That’s another 5lb off this week, which I’m putting down more to not eating enough, which isn’t really what I want to be doing. I’m 1lb away from a 2st loss and I’d be happy just to lose that this week if I can get my eating right. Saying that, I’d love to see in the new year in one-derland, and that’s 5lb away. Just over a 2lb a week loss for the next fortnight will get me there.

WoodsWanderer · 16/12/2024 09:14

Well I am 1.6lbs lighter than before my Scottish weekend. I usually gain 3lbs whem I've been🤣
My losses are odd. I tend to not really lose all week then drop 1.5lbs ish over the weekend, it's been this way since I started. I'd be delighted to lose 2lbs a week as its more than I could on my own. Hope everyone who is feeling rough picks up soon.

Oceangreyscale · 16/12/2024 09:14

Did my injection on Saturday morning and now the site on my thigh is itchy, red and feels a bit lumpy under the skin. Some googling finds it's a relatively common injection reaction and should go down but it is a bit worrying in case it's an infection.

I'm going to call my pharmacist today, and just to remind others to move your injection site around. I was alternating legs but from now on I'll try and introduce more variation.

Start weight: 16.2
Current weight: 15.1
Total loss: 15 lbs

Took my first 5mg jab on Thursday morning and felt absolutely fine and no real difference Thursday, Friday I felt like my stomach was turning over a bit and by Saturday the suppression was just like the first jab, really had to think about eating. I've noticed as well that the enjoyment of eating has largely gone, I'm not savouring the food like I used to.

I did comment to my wife whilst we were watching Jamie's Christmas on TV last night that before MJ I would have been watching it and running to the kitchen to grab something to eat.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 16/12/2024 09:44

I am officially not obese! <jumps for joy> I lost 0.6 lb overnight and Shotsy is now saying my BMI is 29.9! Hurray!

In other news I dragged another pair of jeans that were previously too tight out of the wardrobe and they are loose! These are my two biggest pairs of jeans, mind you - haven’t tried any of the smaller ones. DD has been wearing a pair of Levi’s I bought in the summer and never wore because they were too small. I picked them off her floor yesterday and washed them, and I’m going to try them on when they’ve dried. They were significantly smaller than these, though (despite both being 30” waist) so I might not be there yet.

I keep pausing on my way past the hall mirror to pull up my jumper and admire the lack of muffin top!

I have a mirror splashback in my kitchen. I also pull up my jumper to look at my reduced belly 😂

Congratulations and welcome to the ‘overweight’ club! 🥳

Hi all, thanks for new thread.
w6 for me, on 5mg, first couple of days post dose feel v rough but settled quicker this week.

SW 91.4
CW 83
GW 70

had a couple of NSV with people noticing weight loss, clothes getting too big, making healthier choices whilst out-managed soup rather than cheese and ham toasted sandwich, crisps and cake which is what I would have had previously.

starting to get harder this week as have DS1 off of school, DS2 finished Wednesday, DH birthday and dinner Friday, DS3 finished Friday, inevitable more snacks about and general food noise dealing with their demands, harder to get exercise in too. hopefully I can continue to make healthy swaps and changes

Same here, the kids are home for the hols now. Let the chaos commence! 😵‍💫

5mg jab done last night. No symptoms so far. Fingers crossed that lasts

I'm feeling quite nauseous this morning. I am wondering if the richer food on holiday is an issue. I'm eating significantly less than on any previous holidays, ever, but the kind of food they're serving in the Alps is certainly a bit heavier/fattier. So I'm wondering, does this match your experience? Even small portions of fattier/richer foods are a bit problematic?

I adjusted my jab days last week so I do it on a Thursday now. So hopefully supression will be less on Christmas Day & I can jab on boxing day.

I'm only on 2.5, but I made slow-cooked shoulder of lamb (so quite a fatty cut) and fried potatoes last night and really struggled with the lamb as it was both delicious and seriously rich. I definitely find fatty food harder to manage than I did.
