This counts as a mildly annoying but still quite amusing NSV but I had to stop 4 times on the walk home today and hoik up my tights and knickers. I might have to wear a smaller size tomorrow; they have become loose around the hips!

Pumpkinforever · 11/12/2024 19:21

A female colleague always used to say that little pickers had bigger knickers!

Now not picking means smaller knickers hopefully for all of us @BlueWalker 😂

I just ordered my third pen and ordered 5mg again. Has anyone gone up to 7.5? I’m too scared as I’ve had such bad side effects

I've just ordered 7.5mg, I was debating it but I can always count clicks if I want to reduce it slightly. I've only done 2 5mgs but medexpress seem to push you quite early to order your new pen.

LindtCurves · 11/12/2024 19:54

Has anyone looked at what kind of weight they are losing?

I was losing quite fast so was happy about that, but I've looked at data and have realised I am losing fat and muscle about 50/50!

My body fat has gone down from 28.8% to 27.2% which is not bad but I'm concerned about muscle loss. I'm cutting calories down quite aggressively to lose but feel like the fast loss is coming at a cost. I've actually eaten 1,400 calories today for a change...

OliviaFlaversham · 11/12/2024 19:57

Picked up 7.5 pen today although still have two doses plus bonus dose of 5mg. Didn’t want to risk Xmas hours! decided to go for the next dose up to help with Christmas overeating temptations.

PinkArt · 11/12/2024 20:14

According to the data from my scales, my muscle mass is up by about a pound @LindtCurves, which sounds good and surprising.

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 11/12/2024 20:21

That is a fantastic NSV OliviaFlaversham! 👏 nice to have that first comment

And yay for the jeans! 😊 I can’t wait to rediscover my long forgotten wardrobe, I’m not in anything new yet but have stopped wearing one long cardi that I bought big (to hide in!) but looks baggy now.

That is a great point about Christmas hours! I’m going to order my next pen early too, as we’re going away a few days over the hols.

Can I ask where did you guys get these body mass scales?

I’m amazed scales can know the difference about fat and muscle composition, assuming you just stand on them like regular scales? are they accurate do you think?

My gym has professional scale that measures body fat very specifically, even visualises where it is, left vs right etc. So I'm confident that the initial measure was correct and aligns with my home scale too.

I have a cheap digital scale at home that's supposed to measure it, in that I don't have that much confidence, but I'd still take it as an indication.

This one I just stand on whereas I think on the gym one I have to hold some bits to get everything measured and it takes some time.

PinkArt · 11/12/2024 20:53

I've got these @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo https://www.amazon.co.uk/Etekcity-Bathroom-Precision-Digital-Weighing/dp/B095YJW56C/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?
I'm not quite sure of the science but it's something like it sends an electric pulse through you and can measure body fat percentage, muscle mass etc that way.
You can use them as regular scales to just get the weight headline, or bluetooth to their app for all the extra data. The app data has been hella depressing but its good to have it all in one place, on a chart.
They seem accurate as far as the basic weighing goes. My last ones I had to take an average as it varied depending on which bit of floor they were on. These always seem to be the same.

Amelanchier · 11/12/2024 22:05

According to my scales my percentage fat has gone down but still very high at 55.9%. It was 58.1% earlier this year. I doubt I will get much below 30%.

Mounjaropen · 11/12/2024 22:15

Amelanchier · 11/12/2024 15:03

I took my first 5mg jab today. I have lost 6lb in the first month which isnt masses but as I am short it makes a difference and certainly more than I managed alone. I think I have lost an inch around my waist and hips however I always doubt how consistently I measure but some trousers do feel less tight. It means that I am on track to have lost just over a stone this year, I was trying hard before MJ but losses were so very slow.

As far as DH knows this is week 1. I did the first month under the radar to see if I thought it was for me rather than have a big conversation about it (our finances are relatively transparent). 6 months of MJ is now allowed for in the household budget. He is supportive and is reassured by it being NHS approved albeit not accessible to me via GP.

I am definitely eating less, no snacks, no seconds, lost the taste for sweet things apart from day 6 the last 2 weeks when suppression wore off. I have had a couple of cans of cider at the weekend but no wine- just less appealing than it was. It does feel strange that food is not on my mind so much and if this is how normal slim people are naturally then lucky them!

I have minor side effects but nothing too bad. I seem to be shedding hair but that could be just hormones anyway as I am deep in perimenopause or possibly through the other side. I had an ablation so cannot actually tell since no periods for 9 years now.

Sounds like you have a great plan. Congratulations on the lbs shed so far!

I’m definitely saving on snacks! I’m quite shocked how full the snack basket was just before the shop came. Clearly I’ve been eating all of them previously.

We had zero alcohol bottles for recycling this week. First time ever. 😱

Hi,
I started on 26th Nov. First week had good appetite suppression and quietening of food noise (which was amazing!!). Only side effects were very mild queasiness intermittently.
Second week the side effects hit me like a truck. Increased nausea, vomited on day 2 and day 6, diarrhoea for 24 hours on day 6 and horrendous bloating. Consequently I ate very little and seriously questioned what had done to myself 😫I also lost 12lbs which was way too much, mostly water no doubt and not a loss I’m comfortable with.

So I haven’t taken a third dose (was due yesterday) as a pushing it to the end of the week where it’s more convenient. I’m feeling so much better today, back to how I felt on week one. Eating more but still not really interested in snacking or eating chocolate (which is a huge change!)

I found the suppression a bit too much as want to eat about 1400 calories daily and so I’m going to micro dose 1.25mgs ( very helpful info from others on here regarding this). Hopefully this will also minimise the side effects.

I had sworn I wasn’t taking another dose on Tuesday but hope a micro dose will suit me better.

Good luck on your journeys, this community is fantastic support!

Welcome! Sorry you are feeling rubbish. Do you think it is food type related maybe?

Hello lovely jabbers!

Well done on all your lovely losses and journeys forward, I hope you’re all doing ok in these mad weeks run up to Christmas.

Sorry I’ve been off a while, has been a bit urrgh with little ones sick. Sleepless (and stressful) nights, eaten rather a lot of rubbish and bread this week 😬 need to be eating the good stuff again.

Due to jab tonight (6th) debating whether to go straight to 5mg as suppression so non existent. Or maybe the 3.75 will be enough for it to re-appear. Decisions, decisions…

Aww that sounds tough. Hope the kids are better soon. 💐

Hi,
the first time I was sick I think it was. But then I was sticking to very small portions of light, protein type foods and was still sick on day 6.
I just think my system didn’t like that much of the medication which is why I’m micro dosing.

Whattodowithaminute · 12/12/2024 07:16

Down .9kg this week which is less than I expected (and hoped for!) from daily weights as appear to have put on .4 kg since yesterday… oh well still down I suppose

SW 91.4kg
CW 84.5kg
GW 70kg

lovealongbath · 12/12/2024 07:22

End of week 4 weigh in….

SW 18 stone 4lbs
week 1 - 5lbs
week 2. - 2lbs
week 3 - 4lbs
week 4 - 3lbs

CW 17 stone 4lbs
total loss in 4 weeks 1 stone ….. oh ya 💃

Goal is to see my pubes when lying in bath which I suspect is 100lb loss needed. 86lbs to go!

As there has been discussion about body mass scales I will include

BMI was 43.8 now 41.5
FAT was 43.7 now 42.6
WATER was 41.1 now 41.9
BONE was 6 now 5.9
MUSCLE was 27.8 now 28

This has been an interesting week, I was meant to inject on Saturday, but due to unforeseen circumstances I couldn’t and still haven’t although I plan to do it today.
My suppression appears to still be strong or maybe it’s willpower as I am very much in the zone.
However, the positive I take from this is - I did a lot of research/ googling prior to starting. My mindset was already changing prior to starting MJ, I am fully aware that this is not only about losing weight, I am having to use this time to rewire my brain with respect to my food issues. I am currently very focused on this and the fact that i am 5 days late in having 4th MJ but still being disciplined is hopeful that I can sustain this when the time comes to come off MJ.

I am most definitely shedding excess hair so am going to start taking vitamins to see if that helps with the hair loss.

I am staying on 2.5 for next pen.

We can do this 💪

Jumped on the scales again this morning, another half a pound down!Star

I’m now sitting exactly on a stone point, I’d do a silly little dance if I see the number change this week to be in the new stone zone.

I think my total is currently at 21 lbs lost, on week 7, 4 weeks of 2.5, golden dose of what I think was 2.5, 2 weeks of 3.75. I’m comfortable with how 3.75 is treating me at the moment and don’t yet feel any urge to go to 5, although I’m aware I felt like this on my 2.5 dose and it was only in to my 3rd/4th week that I did notice a boost would help, so I’ll wait and see.

Kialla · 12/12/2024 08:37

W7D1 here and I've lost a grand total of 100g this week! The scales have been fluctuating this week and I've had 2 meals out so just happy it's gone down.

SW 113.6kg
CW 101.3kg
Total loss 12.3kg

It's my birthday a week today and I'd love to hit 2 stone off AND get under 100kg. (I use stones AND KG, depending on what motivates me 🤣).

I jabbed yesterday morning and noticed a huge change in suppression and willpower yesterday. I got my 2nd 5mg pen yesterday so hoping I can still get at least 5 days of weekly suppression from now through to New Year.
