@Kialla im the opposite and can't get my rings off but it's also an objective!

ExtraOnions · 05/12/2024 13:15

Just ordered month 2, i’m sticking with the lowest dose, seems to still be working - I do get a little peckish at the end of the week. I want to get this post-jab nausea under control before I move up

jay55 · 05/12/2024 14:00

Yay for the loses and wins. And sympathy to stalling for others, it's so frustrating.

Scales stubbornly unmoved here. Can't eat a lot on 5mg so absolutely in a deficit, am blaming the cold and am grudgingly accepting I won't lose much more before my holidays start next weekend.

Maybe being away, walking more and seeing a bit more sunlight will get things going.

I'm looking forward to a few glasses of champagne while away, but right now cannot imagine drinking cocktails, that might change when I'm there and suppression wears off.

murraymcgill · 05/12/2024 15:26

Hi i started 8/11 so start 5ml tomorrow 😱 I'm 10lbs down didn't loose last week at all Good Luck

murraymcgill · 05/12/2024 15:28

How much have u lost all together I start 5 dose tomorrow?

rocketgal · 05/12/2024 15:58

Suppression on 5mg is real! Still keep scaring myself worrying about side effects but so far have been ok. Just literally haven't even thought about food today and it's nearly 4pm! Crazy.

DarkForces · 05/12/2024 16:09

I'm nearly seeing 12s on the scale rather than 13s! Seem to have been on the verge for ages, but it's not been long in reality. Got to get into the marathon not a sprint mindset

Pumpkinforever · 05/12/2024 16:18

Here’s an NSV!

I reckon I will have saved the cost of the December pen by a change in habits. One jab saved through not buying fancy mince pies /stollen and brandy butter/cream. Two jabs saved through reduced alcohol / fancy latte consumption, in particular not guzzling Baileys. Fourth jab will be no desire to buy all the nibbles/party platters.

I may even save on the January pen as I am not likely to buy as much stuff between Christmas and New Year as I will not be stuffing my face with all the goodies in the fridge.

Honestly, previously, by this stage in December mince pies would be a daily thing.

Whattodowithaminute · 05/12/2024 16:28

@DarkForces my goal is also to remove my wedding ring!
Hoping to see the 12s this side of Xmas.
moved up to 5mg today and suppression stepped up again, thought I should have some form of sustenance at about 2:30 so had a huel shake (rather than pre MJ service station sandwich!) now feel nauseous

You're basically my slimming twin! We can celebrate by rejecting a glass of wine without a twinge of regret when the 12s appear in the scales!

PinkArt · 05/12/2024 16:38

Love this @Pumpkinforever, it's like the cost per wear maths to justify a new outfit!
The Lidl app has got money off their mini stollen at the moment. They'd usually last about 5 minutes whereas this year I'm thinking I'd quite like to buy a pack but probably won't get through them. Who am I?!

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 05/12/2024 16:49

Della82 · 05/12/2024 11:37

@KeepCalmandGiveItaGo Oushk do a maintenance plan, have found them helpful so far! (Although only ordered 2 pens 😂)

Ah thanks Della82! The only thing with Oushk is that they’re one of the most expensive, and from the maintenance side of things it will be very costly. I was hoping a cheaper provider might offer maintenance to make it affordable for the long haul. Thanks though and I can always contact them to query the pricing of their maintenance plan.

Yeah I agree! We must be saving close to the cost of the pen on food surely? (including take always, coffee shop pop ins and petrol station grabs) and is a positive things as a helping hand to healthy weight and an investment in our health :)

IHateMozzies · 05/12/2024 17:07

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 05/12/2024 00:02

Hi IHateMozzies I also did the bonus dose this evening doing the hard twist method (with needles on standby if it broke the pen) it was really hard to turn but my husband gave me a hand and we managed to get it to twist round in the end and the jab was fine. Decided to just go for another 2.5 dose rather than extra the remaining bit and inject with a new needle.

I am also wondering about Christmas, and which way to go dose wise.

Not had a good reaction! Had diarrhoea lots today and nausea 😩

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 05/12/2024 17:11

Is anyone else interested in longer term maintenance on MJ?

Apparently unlike Wegovy you can carry on taking MJ beyond 2 years, so opens up the possibility of using it as a maintenance dose once reaching goal weight to help prevent regain. (though most UK prescribers currently don’t offer it, seems more common in the US)

I know of someone who lost a lot of weight on Wegovy but gained it back within a year after stopping 😢

Don’t want to go through all of this only to regain it all again (v early on to worry about I know as haven’t even lost a stone yet, lol! 😂)

In today’s Times.

Nice, the health watchdog, has ruled that 3.4 million adults are eligible for Mounjaro, the most effective so far in a revolutionary new class of anti-obesity injections. But a lack of NHS capacity means only 220,000 of these patients, fewer than one in ten, will be given the drug over the next three years, after spending years on waiting lists.

The arrival of weight-loss jabs has created a two-tier system for slimming down. Wealthy patients happy to pay £150 a month can easily get their hands on the miracle drugs, but anyone hoping to get them on the NHS may have to wait for years.

The drugs could ultimately “benefit a larger population”, because one in four adults in the UK — nearly 15 million people — are considered obese, meaning they have a BMI of more than 30.The rollout of Mounjaro will begin next year to patients who are already receiving care in specialist NHS weight-loss services

Don’t think I’d describe myself as wealthy! 😂

Novjaro · 05/12/2024 17:24

All this talk of mince pies is making me want one!

My understanding is that the drug is only approved for use for 2 years at the moment but maybe I’m wrong. Might be a licensing issue beyond that but I’d have thought it would change.

I’ve had an NSV and a scale victory this week. I’m up to 10ib off in 32 days (have had a 4lb whoosh this week!). And yesterday I wore a pair a jeans I got 2 years ago but have never fitted into 🥳

Apple2310 · 05/12/2024 08:03

Hi all,

how are you? I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or whether I have faulty scales! Apologies in advance for the TMI!!

so i weighed myself this morning before eating or drinking and then weighed myself after about 30 mins after after using the toilet (still hadn’t eaten or drank anything) and I was over 1.5lbs heavier?! What is that all about! I dont seem to be loosing any weight, at least for the past 10 days, but my clothes are looser?

what do we think? Weird body or faulty scales? lol

anyone experience anything similar?

wishing you all luck on your weight loss journeys xx

My scales have two weights as well! I go with the heavier of the two!

IHateMozzies · 05/12/2024 17:34

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 05/12/2024 17:13

Oh no! From the bonus dose? Do you know how much you got out from the pen?

Yes from the bonus dose. Got out 0.6 so a full 2.5 dose.

My poor butt and the sandpaper toilet roll at work! 😂

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 05/12/2024 17:41

I’m not with Asda Pharmacy, but they have options for maintenance in their info. onlinedoctor.asda.com/uk/mounjaro-dosages.html onlinedoctor.asda.com/uk/mounjaro-dosages.html]]]] They have 5, 10 and 15mg as maintenance options. Not sure if they mean maintenance as in when you’re at a healthy weight or if they mean you can stay on 5mg to keep losing weight, but worth enquiring.

I used them for my first order as I read something positive online and was nervous about starting. I bought my second pen from them 20% off for Black Friday.
I wonder if they will do January sales 🤞 they might price match if you ask

Pumpkinforever · 05/12/2024 17:46

@IHateMozzies precisely! I think I could say that most of us have tried lots of diets previously and that MJ has offered us an opportunity to finally shift weight. I am self funding because it will be years before the NHS says your turn Pumpkin and by that time in all likelihood I will be suffering from an obesity related ailment which will be a burden on the NHS.

I have friends who would like to take MJ but they can’t really afford it for more than a couple of months but I wouldn’t classify myself as wealthy.

Before I started I was getting a latte and scone/croissant from deliveroo a few times a week (I know that's ridiculous, I live near about 10 coffee shops), not to mention the supermarket snacks and takeaways so I'm guessing I've saved almost the pen price, if not all.

Pumpkinforever · 05/12/2024 17:58

Let’s say on average £30 a jab for 2.5 mg. Well that’s two large bottles of Bailey’s or four bottles of wine or 7 lattes or 7 supermarket sandwiches or 10 cinnamon buns/croissants etc

It soon mounts up
