NSV. One of the things that pushed me into losing weight was how quickly I get very out of breath doing very little. I've had a few at home days this week but walked round to The Big Shops earlier, about 15 mins away, and wasn't out of breath. It was a nice win itself but a great reminder too of how much every pound off will help me feel fitter.
Last time I lost quite a lot of weight I was walking loads and I'm looking forwards to doing that comfortably again.

I think only truly overweight people can appreciate what a big thing this is - congratulations

Not being able to participate in everyday activities is my biggest motivation to lose the weight

JasonTindallsTan · 05/12/2024 09:25

@fubard @TooExtraImmatureCheddar i can’t do much with the bonus dose tonight as I only just remembered to throw the pen and the needle in my case this morning. Might try and take it midweek, so Sunday night? And then take my first 5mg on Thursday. I’ll have to have a think about what I’m going to do with it but deffo don’t want t waste it!

Hi all,

how are you? I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or whether I have faulty scales! Apologies in advance for the TMI!!

so i weighed myself this morning before eating or drinking and then weighed myself after about 30 mins after after using the toilet (still hadn’t eaten or drank anything) and I was over 1.5lbs heavier?! What is that all about! I dont seem to be loosing any weight, at least for the past 10 days, but my clothes are looser?

what do we think? Weird body or faulty scales? lol

anyone experience anything similar?

wishing you all luck on your weight loss journeys xx

Hi Apple2310 so yes! I have had this happen and for me it must have been the scales giving different readings - so if I weighed in a slightly different spot in the bathroom (like only a foot in distance on the floor) the scales showed a 5lb (higher) difference!! 😱

Needless to say I tried not to weigh in that spot! The floor felt just as flat there though, very odd.

I’ve moved house since then but has made me mindful of the variation in readings the scales can give and I now always weigh in exactly the same spot

Well done!

meal plan today for me:

Boiled egg if I feel lethargic this morning,
2 salmon fillets (poached in a good splash of white wine, slice of lemon and a knob of butter wrapped in a foil packet baked in the oven for 15 mins at 180) served with steamed broccoli and rocket.
Tropical fruit salad
4 mejool dates

Ooh you’ve swayed me I might poach an egg this morning with a slice of toast instead of porridge 😍

I really must get more fish in our diet, DH loves it but me and the kids aren’t keen. I’ll add it to the list for next week!

Hi and welcome Thawdbrid! 👋 that’s a great loss, well done! Yes to a new start for you and all of us jabbers ☺️

What kind of strength training do you think you’ll go for? Looking for inspiration on this front, I’m just not ready to wobble in front of the gym bunnies and keep procrastinating on what to do (unless swimming counts as strength training?)

Such a fab NSV! Well done!

One of my motivations is to be fit enough to keep up with the kids as they get bigger and more active. We did a tiny hill climb in September and I was so upset at how hard I found it.

I'd definitely be blaming the scales. I threw a set out as they were showing different values even if I stepped back on 30 seconds later. Infuriating. Have a fab set now that link to my phone and are always consistent.

Do you have them on a hard floor? Carpet can cause havoc with scales too.

Your meal plan sounds lovely. I've not been able to meal plan on mounjaro as I never fancy anything at all! It's so interesting that we all react differently.

I hate not being able to keep up with my little ones 😢 flipping heart breaking. We also did a walk in Sept which had a big hill and I struggled, had to keep stopping. Thankfully my toddler likes to collect twigs and leaves so the pauses we would use as ‘ooo what’s here we can collect?’ moments if you know what I mean. If she ran off I wouldn’t be able to catch up and that worries me a bit, but thankfully she does stop when I call and is good at coming back.

Could I possibly ask a favour of you MedExpress peeps?

Could someone pls ask them what is their policy on maintenance dose plans? (Ie do they offer a maintenance dose for customers who wish to stay on MJ long term to maintain their healthy weight?)

I am looking for a provider who offers a long term maintenance plan.

It looks like a lot of prescribers will stop prescribing once we’ve got to a healthy weight.

Actually if anyone is a with another provider who offer this pls let me know, thanks so much!

I’m in this for the long haul and looking to switch from Voy who don’t offer maintenance dose.

Thanks - I'm a big foodie (as you can probably tell) DH loses weight when he only eats from home (taking in lunches I have made etc) as cutting out UPF's stops the cravings for shite. I'm of the belief that cooking a piece of protein and adding to salad/veg takes about the same time as putting something ready made into the oven. If it can go in one pan, the better!

Keep going. I think people sharing food diaries keeps us all accountable but also might provide a little inspo for anyone who has lost interest/doesn't know where to start.

Easy to follow cooks are Nigella, Rukmini Iyer and Nadiya Hussain.

I grew up with a mother who didn't cook (findus crispy pancakes anyone?😩) so it has been my mission in life to teach my DD both how to cook and how to eat well. I'm not gonna lie, I have a crisp/chocolate/wine habit as much as the next person but in general, we eat fresh food I've cooked. DD is now at Uni and her mates think she's some sort of Masterchef 😂

Try the salmon/coconut/chili/lime recipe I posted last week. I normally leave out the mint, but it is personal choice. Rukmini Iyer is the chef.

I'm wondering if any MedExpress peeps can advise me. I contacted them about price match and they said it would be added to my account in a yellow box at checkout. I'm trying to order my 2nd pen and there's no box and they want to charge full price at check out. I'm logged in and can't see anything else I should do? I emailed them yesterday but had no acknowledgement.

@KeepCalmandGiveItaGo Oushk do a maintenance plan, have found them helpful so far! (Although only ordered 2 pens 😂)

PinkArt · 05/12/2024 11:39

Thanks for all the support, team. It feels good to feel a step healthier. I know there's a long way to go but it all helps. I don't have kids but would love to be able to comfortably run around with my niblings before they get too old for playing.

Della82 · 05/12/2024 11:43

W3 round up.

SW 90
CW 84.9
GW 70

I lost 1.2kg this week, all in the last 2 days!

have lost an inch off my waist in 3 weeks

pleased with my progress, although suppression was minimal last week, really had to make an effort to be good and resist the food noise!

just injected my last 2.5 will see how I get on this week might do bonus dose a bit early, or move straight up to 5 if I get hangry after the weekend!

Kialla · 05/12/2024 12:19

My scales are stubbornly not shifting this week so I'm also in the desperate to see 15-something club.

This does seem to be my normal pattern though - 5-6 days of nothing then one big drop.

I took my 3rd dose of 5mg last night and instantly noticed a difference in how full I felt after eating, so still very confused about whether I should stick with 5 or move up to 7.5. Probably need to order in the next few days.

I posted on the very first thread that I hoped to get my wedding and engagement rings back on. They fit! The bloatedness of my fingers fluctuates throughout the day so I'm not wearing them yet, but can get them on ❤️

On the flipside, I've found some saggy bits! I weight train and didn't think I had a particularly perky bottom but it is distinctly saggy right now so will need to increase the glute focus. Along with the part of my thigh right above my knee. Who knew that could even sag?! It's motivation to add in at least one more weights session a week though!

Pumpkinforever · 05/12/2024 12:26

Well done @Della82 @ThawdBrid @Whattodowithaminute 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

sometime around Feb/March we ought to do a sum total loss calculation ➕➕➕➕🟰
