I started to get less suppression in week 3 so I'd recommend leaving it as late as possible to make the decision on your next order. I must admit I'm scared to move up tomorrow though!

I saw the suppression decrease in week 3/4 on 2.5 so had been nervous but also sort of looking forward to the 5. I’m on day 4 and frankly it’s not felt any different so maybe I’ve just acclimatised to the drug. I’m managing to keep to a good number of calories but it’s not completely effortless like the first couple of weeks - for example I just ate a couple of biscuits that I couldn’t resist. Just hope it’s enough to keep getting results 🤞

BleachedJumper · 03/12/2024 13:12

Hi all, just a comment on those who weigh regularly versus weekly. I’ve gone up 3 lbs this morning from Sundays weigh in, and after a little twinge of thinking ‘bollocks!’ I quickly rationalised that I’ve come on my period today and can visibly see that I’m bloated.

I find it a lot more motivating having that in between weigh in that showed me the lower figure, and today is a hormonal reading.

Caffeinequeen91 · 03/12/2024 13:27

I’m tracking food on my fitness pal. I chose 1200 calories but really I have no idea what I should be aiming for!

jay55 · 03/12/2024 13:31

@Mounjaropen I was going to asks today if anyone had insomnia on jab day. Last week I put it down to taking my jab at night. This week I switched back to the morning and was still awake at 1am.

@Goldleafcat we've lost a similar amount in the same time frame. I get jealous of the big losses too, especially when it's people who already weigh less than my goal weight. It is amazing how variable it is for everyone and I'm glad these threads show a wide range of results.

Anyway today my work dress is a whole lot looser around the bum and belly, and upper arms too. I feel slimmer today even if the scale hasn't budged.
Suppression is high, had half a sandwich and put the rest away for later.

TeenLifeMum · 03/12/2024 10:56

@fubard what app are you using to record everything? I’m using Noom but subscription ends next week. I was going to move back to mfp but open to any recommendations for food logging and weight tracking.

Last night - w3 D2 - I had a mini binge (chocolate mini twix and a packet of crisps). Definitely not as suppressed this week. Need to use some willpower too. That said, I’m a daily weigher and I’m down a pound. Must keep on keeping on.

I'm using my net diary, it's fab and in my opinion way better than my fitness pal

jay55 · 03/12/2024 13:51

I use Lose it to track everything, it links to my scales for my weight and my watch for steps.
Stopped using mfp a few years ago when they were forcing to agree to sharing data overseas.

PinkArt · 03/12/2024 15:40

@JasonTindallsTan If it makes you feel better, if I carry on losing at around 2lbs a week I won't be below 16st until May. Race you!

ShaunaSadeki · 03/12/2024 16:29

I can’t weigh this week as away for work, I took myself out for dinner last night and had a starter and a Caesar salad, still felt like a treat and on the plane I just ate enough of the plane food to keep me going until I got here. Stomach not amazing today but I’m only working from my apartment so it’s fine. We will be out for dinner and drinks each night but rather than go out for breakfast and lunch which would normally be an expensible treat on works coin I got up this morning and went for a walk and bought berries, granola and yoghurt for breakfasts and some soup to have for lunch, feeling very virtuous

DarkForces · 03/12/2024 17:19

Just done my first 5mg dose. Wish me luck with the side effects. Eeek!

Whattodowithaminute · 03/12/2024 17:28

I believe I’ve had a NSV today, I had a stack of clothes ready to take to the charity shop (because I never thought they would fit me again) today I tentatively removed 2 items which I like and think may fit me in the next 6 months, not yet but still I feel optimistic..:

Pumpkinforever · 03/12/2024 17:35

@Whattodowithaminute I have took a pile of size 20 to charity shop & recycling because I don’t want to see them again. I have a few size 18s that I kept on the way ‘up’ but looking forward to getting stuff for size 16 maybe February with luck

Mounjaropen · 03/12/2024 08:08

Ooh. Planning is my speciality 😂

We had Dijon/lemon/police oil whole roast chicken last night with roasted new potatoes and rocket. I’ll be using the leftover chicken to make a red Thai chicken curry today ,(coconut cream, stock, tomatoes, sweet potato, red peppers) which I will have without rice (DH will have rice). I will then use the rest of the chicken to make a chestnut mushroom/chicken risotto tomorrow night (a little goes a long way) also served with rocket,

I’ll have a couple of boiled eggs at lunchtime along with 4 mejool dates for fibre. I might have a handful of roasted pistachios after dinner. Drinks are black coffee, Lemon&ginger tea and water. I have in the fridge a bowl of tropical fruit salad (1x pineapple, 1x mango, 1 x pink grapefruit , 1x passionfruit and 2 xorange)

Thursday I’ll make Rukmini Iyer’s baked Salmon/coconut/lime/chilli dish which I’ll serve with rocket. DH will have rice with that. I’d recommend all of her ‘Roasting tin’ series of books. Very easy, only one pan to wash up, lots of veg ideas.

Towards the end of the week I’ll make a caraway seed cake for DH. I might have a slice.

No booze until Saturday 💪

Recipes attached for the Chicken and Salmon. Red Thai chicken Curry is one I made up but you just need a red thai paste and throw everything in. You can swap chicken for salmon or sea bass (just add in for a few mins before serving once the veg is nearly ready)

JasonTindallsTan · 03/12/2024 08:03

Morning all. Another day of not being below 16 stone 👍🏻😂

Yup, I feel you JasonTindallsTan. The next stone bracket is evading me also!

(and annoyingly have gained 3 lbs since yesterday but hardly eaten, so must be fluids and hormonal pms stuff but still, annoying when it goes the wrong way!)

I’ve not cracked into the next stone bracket for about 4 years. I got to the cusp twice before the weight train once more trundled along and cried ‘all aboard!’, and of course I leapt on and waved goodbye to that next stone bracket. Would so love to see that new number before Christmas, but is now half a stone away so will try not to be disappointed if it takes a while to get there.

Pumpkinforever · 03/12/2024 08:33

So Week 5 Day 1

Expensive winter coat update. I can now do up zip without pulling it too much. Tummy needs to shrink a bit more 😂

SW 15 stone 12
CW 14 stone 8

Loss this week 3lbs

Total loss 1 stone 4 lbs or just over 8kg

BMI down to 37.3 (I am a short fat arse)

Amazed at this weeks loss as 3 food events but I steered away from alcohol, puddings and high carbs. Last time I was this weight was 2018.

Amazing and well done Pumpkinforever! 👏 fantastic coat progress too, wahoo! 😄 🧥

namechangedyetagain · 03/12/2024 17:57

There are some fab losses here! Took my first 5mg on Saturday and have already had an email to order my next pen. Not sure whether to stick with the 5mg or move up? No ill effects so far. My losses are little and slow and that's fine with me. I think I'm starting to look a bit less round but no one else has noticed so maybe that's just wishful thinking. Starting to worry about the cost longer term.

Apple2310 · 03/12/2024 08:28

Hi,
sorry you are feeling like this. This happened to me last week (I’m still only on 2.5). I called doctor as I thought it was pancreatitis. The pain was agony all night. I felt better after I vomited. The doctor said it was acute acid reflux. I’m still not convinced! But he gave me omiprozole. I have had mild pains twice again, but nothing like last week. He said the fact that I felt better after vomiting means it was not pancreatitis. Maybe chat to gp? Hope you feel better.

So sorry you’ve had it so rough Ralala but great to read your update earlier that you’re doing better now. V helpful to have this reply from Apple2310 who had similar and what the dr said and how it worked out and re: the vomiting - thanks so much for this and sorry you had awful pain too, and of course the worry about pancreatitis. Hoping you both recover and let us know how you’re doing going forwards x

SellWell · 03/12/2024 18:26

Ralala · 03/12/2024 02:19

Oh wow. I jabbed on Saturday with my 5mg and I said earlier how I was feeling awful on it. Well tonight has been horrendous. I vomited up all my dinner which I really forced down and now I’m having diarrhoea again. I have a pain in the upper tummy which I where I normally get it if it’s trapped wind but of course being on Mounjaro with vomiting and diarrhoea I need to be alert to pancreatitis. The pain was constant but after some more vomit (how lovely) it’s calmed down slightly and is easing off . My poor husband hasn’t said to me I should stop but I had to say if I don’t drastically improve this week then it has to be the end of the road for me with this sadly

Oh Ralala , I am so so sorry to hear that you are having a rubbish time. Big Virtual Hugs xx

Whattodowithaminute · 03/12/2024 18:39

Same dilemma here, I've had a tiny bit of nausea and heartburn and a fairly slow loss. I did the first 5mg last Friday and I don't know whether to stick with it or to order a 7.5mg. I've got quite a lot to lose (about 4st) so I was hoping I would have been losing a bit quicker but I also don't want to push it and end up with awful symptoms.

Mounjaropen · Today 08:59

Thanks for posting this article Mounjaropen, v interesting reading. It makes a lot of sense especially when you think that for the vast majority of human history we needed to preserve body fat to survive.

For me it exercise is definitely more spasmodic for me than routine which maybe not a bad thing if I’m reading this right! Occasionally startling my coach potato body with the odd bout of exercise to keep it guessing! 😂 I think I did hear something about ‘metabolic confusion’ before and how it can help with weight management but can’t remember the details, but was something about keeping things switched up to help keep the metabolism fired up

I injected 5 mg last night. Had a bit of insomnia but so far no nausea. I have got to the burps though! I felt as if my heart was racing a little yesterday afternoon so I took my blood pressure which was normal. I took it again this morning after I’ve had a coffee and it was quite high so I think I’m going to have to come off caffeinated coffee for awhile Interestingly, for the first time in ages I woke up with a rumbling tummy which is weird because I’ve had zero pains on 2.5 mg. I don’t have as much energy as I would do normally either but I think it’s probably because I’m waiting for side-effects that might not actually appear! 🤞

Sorry and you too Mounjaropen and others starting with the 5mg!

Mounjaropen · 03/12/2024 21:04

So a bit wiped out today. My BP was high this afternoon and I didn’t feel quite right so I had a lie down. Around this time of the year there are so many bugs going around so I don’t want to presume it is all MJ’s fault. Just been to the cinema for a change (saw Conclave, it was fab) had a bottle of water and no sweets (unheard of). I will be drinking decaf coffee tomorrow to see if that makes a difference. I’ve not been able to exercise today because I didn’t want to make myself feel worse so I am a bit annoyed by that. I deffo have a raised resting HB which I know is a side effect so I am keeping an eye on that.

TeenLifeMum · 03/12/2024 21:35

@Mounjaropen have you been drinking enough? Look after yourself!

I had a text from my gp to get my bp checked at the pharmacy so I went. It’s very low, which everyone thinks is good… until I pass out!

feeling more suppression today than yesterday, but also had back to back teams calls so didn’t really have time to eat. I could pick at food now, but I’m too tired to walk to the kitchen!
