I'm really struggling and don't know what to do, I've not lost any weight for the last 4 weeks and today the food noise has really been bad and I'm eating more crap than I should be.

I can't get past 45 clicks on my 5mg pen. I did 2.5 this week after a horrible last week and I was worried about not being able to get through this week (which is why I have no suppression) but generally I have good suppression and no food noise on 40 clicks but no weight loss. Any thing 45 clicks and over makes me have 48 hours of explosive diarrhoea, literally every hour and i feel awful.

Do I just need to go through that and keep going with the 45 clicks and hope I get used to it. It's really horrible. I can't be doing that every week, any ideas??
I lost well in the first 5 weeks and really hoped I'd have had another stone off by now so it's a bit disappointing.

Can I ask what you’re eating? And how you cook it?

at this point you should be able to tolerate the drug well and move up. The fact you can’t indicates this is not a drug you should be taking, or you have an unhealthy diet and this is the cause of the gastrointestinal issues.

you basically need to eat clean, low carb, low fat, little to no refined sugar. Too much of any of those ghings and you will have gastrointestinal issues.

i see you’re eating crap your saying, so this is going to be part of the problem. And your phrasing says more than you should be, which indicates you have continued to do so, just in lesser quantities, as such it is possible it’s your diet.

@AllstarFacilier goad you’re on and had a check up.
I did my worth in yesterday and was 2lbs down which was fabulous. Brings me to 9.7lbs which is the lightest I’ve been been in several years! Did a 3.5mg this week as 3.75 came
with a few side effects - hopefully this will be ok for Christmas. Like everyone else, I would like to enjoy a few more indulgent days of eating over the festive period. I’m mindful of being very careful though, especially with the drinking! I’ve still hardly had a drink in 10weeks and now into no. 11! Bought loads of booze - not sure who’s going to drink it🤣 I had to force myself to buy Christmas snacks/treat food while shopping yesterday for family and visitors- but all the time I was thinking I don’t want any of this! Why am I buying it! Which just goes to show how often my purchasing of ‘treat’ food was actually for me!! Happy prepping everyone whatever your plans are xxx🎄

EVK · 22/12/2024 09:21

Update - 9.8 today so I’m down one and then up one, my body is definitely trying to get me to eat and hold onto the weight it has now! Proper set point/plateau situation. I get hungry too but as the conversation above states this is part of the natural process of plateauing rather than an indication that I need to up the dose. It will settle again although maybe will take a few weeks, that article said it could be months so I’m holding my nerve and just going to keep going as the MJ dose is string enough , I need stronger - it would make me feel too ill !

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 22/12/2024 10:31

Weighed a day early today, as splitting the 7.5 in half to do 2 jabs this week - today and boxing day. This is because I had awful diarrhea and stomach pains last week, and I am trying to avoid that over xmas.

Week 10 Day 1 (ish 😬)
SW 17'10
CW 16'7

2 pounds off this week, 1 stone 3 pound off overall

rockingbird · 22/12/2024 10:49

igivein · 22/12/2024 08:19

It’s weigh-in day for me, and after a disappointing first ever ‘stay the same’ last week I’m 2lbs down this week - which makes a total 3 stone loss going into Christmas week. What a Christmas present!😊

SW: 20st 2lbs
CW: 17st 2lbs

Wow!! What a wonderful Christmas present 💝 huge congratulations!

I think you tend to know what the right thing to do is, I had been adamant until this week that I was moving up as 5mg hadn’t been effectively curbing my food noise as much but this week it’s been really solid and effective - I don’t want to race up the doses and have nowhere to go. I may well
end up doing another month of 5mg, I’m not really bothered about Christmas food and overindulging- I want the weight gone more than i want to eat celebrations, was happy to move up over Christmas week but once we got here I didn’t think I needed to. We go away on Friday and if 5mg this week hasn’t ended up working so well for me I’ll move up to 7.5mg. I’m not concerned about side effects though, I’ve been absolutely fine all the way through so far.

Christmas Dinner itself is quite healthy meat and veg, it's all the party food and snacks and drinks that will have the calories! It was my birthday Thursday and I had work buffet this week and then wagamama with friends Friday, all on low suppression..it was tough and yesterday i was snacking so jabbed yesterday evening 6mg a day early, but I only gained 0.2kg over the week thankfully. The only other time I've gained is when I was off sick and laid on the couch for a week. Feeling great again now!

memememe · 22/12/2024 13:31

@Losingthetimber
My usual day looks like
Breakfast (anytime between 10 and 2) protein yogurt
Then I eat cooked chicken, boiled egg(s) for lunch, and a satsuma.

I'm not often having dinner as I can't face eating, I might have some more chicken, or an omelette with ham and a tiny bit of cheese. I have had roast dinner with chicken veg and a small roast pot. Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.

I'm not eating many carbs at all. In fact I'm barely eating 1000 calories most days it's nearer 600 as I just don't want to eat, or forget as I'm busy.

When I said I've been eating crap that day, I'd had 2 homemade mince pies and 3 match makers, and some onion ring crisps, I felt like I wanted to binge, I didn't but was feeling a bit miserable about it.

My Christmas dinner is anything but healthy. 🤣

gravy made with meat juices
cauli cheese with double cream and 2 whole blocks of cheese 😅
carrots and parsnips cooked in honey
roast potatoes cooked in goose fat
Stuffing mixed with sausage meat

Turkey should be healthy though ha

Then I think you can’t tolerate the drugs I’m afraid. I’d not continue. Some folks can’t tolerate, and it seems your one. I’m sorry 😔

bit the bullet and just did my first 7.5mg for over Xmas week.

I don't necessarily agree. Can j ask what your WL has been up to now?

It's quite common to hit a plateau in weightloss that can easily last 3-4 weeks or even longer. There are loads of theories as to why but this is a summary.

I would stay on the dose you can tolerate and give it a couple of weeks. Try focusing on increasing your exercise.

@Losingthetimber thank you. seems strange that the first 5 weeks were ok, its just when I go up to a higher amount, maybe I'll stick on 3mg for another month and see if any more weight comes off. Very odd as well that I'm not eating much but also not losing weight. Hmm

memememe · 22/12/2024 14:10

@Caffeineneedednow thank you, I'm going to try that. I've lost 1.5 stone so far, just nothing in the last 3-4 weeks. I'm going to keep going for the next month (new one just arrived) and increase super slowly and see what happens.

Plateaus can last weeks and when I went from 2.5 to 5mg I also have the 💩 for 2 weeks before it settled down!

It’s not the plateau she’s unwell.

Yeah I saw that but she said only on the higher doses
So I said go back to a dose you can tolerate and ride out the plateu rather then trying to up doses.

yes I was just thinking as 2.5 doesn’t work for her, no weight loss for a month,so likely too early to plateau, and she can’t go higher, going Lower than 2.5 is likely not going to do much, hence why I said maybe she’s not suited.

but maybe yes ride it out; I think I’d stop though.

TheChosenTwo · 22/12/2024 16:52

Haha @Mysticmaiden2024 i don’t think my Christmas dinner will be especially healthy 😂 roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, sprouts in pancetta, parmesan parsnips etc etc, everything is jazzed up! But delicious, I will still have some of everything on my plate except potatoes (because of all the options those are the least exciting on Christmas Day!) just small portions and I won’t feel deprived.
but yes it’s all the little extras going out, I’ve socialised a lot these past 2 weeks had about 3 drinks in total (vodka soda with fresh lime not cordial) and stuck to eating really sensibly as much as the situation dictated.
Christmas is a bit of a minefield of obstacles but my mindset is really positive and I’m not avoiding going out based on mounjaro, I’m really enjoying myself!

OK well my Xmas Dinner must be super boring. By time I've cooked the protein, i say protein cos it varies what i fancy, chicken or salmon usually, peeled potatoes and parsnips and chopped, chopped carrots, cleaned sprouts and cooked everything i don't add much else except gravy from a tub cos ive lost the will to live! 🙈 usually make a home made cheesecake too so can't eat much more and this was before mounjaro!

coll444 · 22/12/2024 18:51

Hi guys hope your all well and have a lovely Christmas, Can I just ask where everyone gets them MJ from please, I'm currently paying 189 a month for 5mil, I'm thinking I honestly don't think I can afford that a month!! It was my doctor who told me to go with them, I'm with Asda doctors, my doctor just said make sure it's with someone well known! I've been on it since October I've lost 2 stone it's going great but it is exspenive 😑🤦‍♀️ sorry for the long post...... I've been looking round but thought it would be best on here 🤩 xxxxxx

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 22/12/2024 18:53

If you look at monj.co.uk they have the best prices for each site with discount codes. I have never paid more than £135 including p and p.

TheChosenTwo · 22/12/2024 19:00

@coll444 i get mine from Oushuk because I can choose a delivery date with them, they aren’t the cheapest though. Im not arsing about with switching providers monthly to get the best deals to save £20 a month or whatever. It’s a monthly expense for sure but to be honest I’m easily saving more than the cost of mounjaro with the amount of deliveroos I used to get into the office.

morbidcuriosity · 22/12/2024 19:15

@coll444 I went with asda to start as was the only name I really knew.. but changed for the rest, zava for my 2nd with a code from the code thread and med express again with a code . I will change again for my next one too.

Asda are through zava so felt happy with that. But if you look at mounj.co.uk website there is loads on there and you can see the prices..

Think I may try IQ doctor next.. seems cheaper.
