@EVK wishing you the happiest of birthdays - and hope you won't mind sharing your day with our brand new grand-daughter [originally due on Christmas Day] who arrived safely this morning at 5.44am weighing 6lbs 10oz. A bit battered and bruised after a difficult forceps delivery but Mum, Dad and baby all doing well now. We will be away shortly to make afternoon visiting slot as the new little family are 80 miles away. Can't wait for newborn cuddles!!

Congrats! A little Xmas baby, how lovely.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 19/12/2024 14:31

@EVK, have a happy birthday feeling wonderful and fabulous! 💐

Iwouldratherbesinging · 19/12/2024 14:46

I read these words today and they struck a chord with me, hopefully they will with some of you 🎄

There’s 7700 calories in 1kg of fat, so going a few hundred or even thousand over doesn’t make as much difference as you think. Weight loss is meant to compliment your life and make it better, if you are about to spend your Christmas stressing over food, it’s doing the opposite. Aiming for maintenance is a lot more achievable and it’s still progress. Memories with friends and family are more important than your weight loss goals.

lickycat · 19/12/2024 14:49

Happy birthday to you, @EVK 🎉

Massive congratulations to you @recklessgran 🎈

I've lost 22lbs since 11 October. Started fast, then tailed off with varying degrees of success. But over all I'm pleased. Started 7.5 this week and had sickness and diarrhoea so far...😫

EVK · 19/12/2024 23:00

@BeckyBloom Hopefully the upset stomach will die down quickly - if not you could always consider lowering the dose perhaps?

NearlyNewHip · 20/12/2024 06:14

Am currently half dead with a chest infection, was given antibiotics and various inhalers to bring up my oxygen levels.... always a silver lining though, cannot face food as have quite a high temperature. Drinking loads and having some cupasoups in between. Sticking to my plan of starting 7.5mg this evening, can't really feel any worse (famous last words....)

letshavetea · 20/12/2024 07:24

@NearlyNewHip not for me to tell you what to do, but is it worth delaying for a few days until you start to improve. Also, I don’t know how long you’ve been having oral antibiotics but if your oxygen sats are low and temp is high you should go to A & E or at least call 111. I hope you don’t see this as telling you want to do - it’s meant with kind concern.

NearlyNewHip · 20/12/2024 07:39

Thank you x I went yesterday, GP had a look, was concerned and sent me straight to the urgent/acute center. They did some tests gave me inhalers, did the tests again a few minutes later and said as long as I don't exert myself (do anything that leaves me breathless) I should be fine until the antibiotics kick in. Was told to ring 111 if things don't improve within a day or two and come back. I'll see how I feel this evening with the jab, won't hurt to delay a few days if I still feel ropey x x x

Bluenose1966 · 20/12/2024 07:44

@NearlyNewHip My cousin has a chest infection and has been prescribed steroids. She spoke to her prescriber and they told her not to take the MJ until she has finished course. I would consider delaying dose a few days in case it made you feel worse.
Sounds like there’s lots going around at moment, knowing my luck I will get it just before Christmas Day. Hope you feel better soon.

letshavetea · 20/12/2024 07:45

@NearlyNewHip oh that sounds fine then! I was worried. Don’t hesitate to go back though if oral antibiotics aren’t working.

NearlyNewHip · 20/12/2024 07:56

I was told that I have to make an appointment for a breathing review when I've finished the antibiotics to see if I need help healing my lungs when I'm over the worst. The lady doctor is on mounjaro herself and we had a good uhhh how are you doing on it chat when I mentioned it in my medication list

Losingthetimber · 20/12/2024 08:14

Well official weigh day is tomorrow, but scales have me at 12.13.2 this morning, whoop. I wanted to see a 12,,, but still just shy of the full 2 stone off.

I reckon that’s as on wed I had a very buttery Marks and Sparks chicken Kiev for dinner and which resulted in a few non urgent loo trips, yesterday morning, likely due to the fat so it may go up again tomorrow in official weigh day .😂

need to pop out this morning and my husband just said, “you look lovely, new jeans?” . Genuinely they are a few years old, just they fit me again. So that’s a bit of a result I think.

UtterlyQuackers · 20/12/2024 16:22

MedExpress keep emailing to tell me it's time to order. I still have one dose of 5mg and 7.5mg in the fridge.

I have no idea what pen I will need this time. Though I doubt I'll use MedExpress for my next pen!

Hope everyone that is feeling poorly feels better soon!

I did put on a little bit after my Christmas meal, lost it again and more so happy with that!

lapuf · 20/12/2024 19:36

NSV today for mega (albeit injected) willpower
I was held up at an appointment that was meant to be at 11 so didn't take lunch and got home after 2, asked DH to stick some bacon in the Airfryer and was salivating over the thought of a sandwich with ketchup (was genuinely starving for the first time since October!) but I had a rocket and avocado salad with it and a little chunk of cheddar whilst prepping it!
Bloody lovely it was, I'm making the same kind of choices as my size 8 for life mum, good eating role model to have.

Gilly1C · 20/12/2024 20:00

Surely I can't be the only one?

I actually feel mis sold on 7.5mg. Bit of background - I have not had any nasty side effects throughout this journey, I drink 4.5litres of water each day (pre MJ used to be more but Dr told me to curb it) I am meticulous with tracking calories, fat, carbs, protein. I strength train 3 x a week. I am not a massive loser at all, but I did start this journey with the hope of losing 3/4 stone. Started on October 2nd and have lost 2 stone which is great, but 7.5 just does not cut it at all, the food noise has been there from the day of jag and feeling of hunger all the time. Suppose it's a blessing I now know I have some willpower. The best dose for me was 5mg well just for the first 2 weeks on it as suppression was real. I take my third 7.5 tomorrow and just looking forward to moving up to 10 to be honest. Anyone else felt this?

NearlyNewHip · 20/12/2024 20:03

Starting 7.5 next jab, will report back. 5mg didn't do much for me at all

AllstarFacilier · 20/12/2024 20:07

I’m on week 7 and I’m on 3.5mg. I ate quite a bit yesterday - I wouldn’t say too much but had plenty. I woke up with a bad stomach this morning and had to go to the toilet with the runs a couple of times, but felt instantly better. Later on in the day, I started getting the grumbly feeling in my stomach again and stood up to go to the toilet and passed out. Once I came around I did feel better for the rest of the day, but passing out scared me a little. I don’t know if it’s MJ related or if it’s just a bit of a stomach bug. I don’t want to feel like that again though.

WafflingDreamer · 20/12/2024 21:20

Has anyone ordered with IQ doctor recently? This is my 3rd pen with them, all the others have been approved and dispatched same day. This one I ordered yesterday afternoon and is not changed from pending

Is it possible your blood sugar dropped low? I'd definitely get it checked out by someone, not normal to be passing out
