@letshavetea Fair enough I guess, they will be coming under more scrutiny with all the press coverage. Just don't want to stop yet, it's miraculous!

ArtfullyCrumpled · 07/12/2024 14:15

I'm getting impatient too @Fizzleawayy - Ive found myself going to bed early so I can make the days come quicker towards my goal weight! Mad. Can't wait to be 2 stone down and can't wait to be a noticeable 3 stone down! It took a long time to put on all these fatty stones so it's going to take a while to get rid of them. Bring on next summer!

Have a great night out I'm sure people will notice your weight loss and that will be a lovely boost.

Love the talk about all the Xmas outfits!

I am such an idiot!! I forgot about my b12 app today and missed it. I now have to wait until the 16th and I’m already nearly 2 weeks over due 😢

I use a B12 oral spray, haven't needed the injections since. I take 1000mg a day and it feels similar to the injection but better as I don't have the decline after 6 weeks or so.

Tohaveandtohold · 07/12/2024 15:47

So it’s weigh and Jab day for me today. It’s been a good week as no side effects at all. I’ll be taking the bonus 5mg dose from my second pen tonight and hope the hard twist works.
It was my mum’s birthday this week and I baked her a cake. I’ve not made a cake since I started on MJ as I always over eat it but this time, I had a slice on wed and another on Thursday and that was me done. I thought that may affect this weeks loss but I’m still down 0.95kg (1.8lbs) and I’m now 2 stone down.
SW: 87.1kg (192lbs)
Goal: 60kg (132lbs)
CW: 74.35kg ( 164 lbs)
9 week total - 12.75kg (28lbs)
Next mini goal is to be ‘overweight’ on New Year's Day (so need to lose 4.2lbs).

@Fizzleawayy Do the clothes not fit or are you 'in a mood'? I find some days I look in the mirror and think I look awful, rolls everywhere...other days, same outfit, don't notice any rolls and think I look nice x God knows why!!! Bloating, hormonal, moody? Give it a few days and try the same things again x It worked the other way around for me last week. Tried some stuff on, thought I looked lovely, on the day rushing around put them on, thought I looked awful with a giant sticky out belly... had to wear it anyway as was running late, few drinks and giggles and didn't give a crap, remember looking in the mirror at the cocktail bar, pissed, thinking I'm hot shit 😂

I love this!!!! 😘

Evenstar · 07/12/2024 16:58

Scales have stayed the same for me for a third week ☹️ but last night I went to a gig and when I went to the same venue in the middle of October I had to sit sideways on the edge of the seat and now I fit between the arms. An NSV at least.

That is definitely a NSV - well done!
I’m in the same boat - no scale movement for 3 weeks, although i’ve made changes this last week and I feel (hope) it might work - I weigh daily and today for the first time, the scales were 0.3kg lower than they have been to date. Trying not to get my hopes up as the scales may well go back up tomorrow.

The positive out of all of this is really that without the injection, I would have previously thought - forget this diet, nothing is working and self sabotaged but at least I have managed to stay consistent this time.

Has anyone had pain in the rib area at the back? It started for me this week, but it’s worse after jabbing this morning like a stabbing pain.

I would get it checked out lovely.

Mounjaro can cause certain conditions that have back pain or abdominal pain as symptoms. For example, Mounjaro may raise your risk of pancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas). Symptoms of pancreatitis may include back pain or abdominal pain that doesn't go away. If you only get body aches in a certain area, such as the stomach and back, and it doesn't go away, speak with your doctor as this could be a sign of pancreatitis.

Hopefully it’s nothing but better safe then sorry if it’s been happening for a few days.

Ah @Fizzleawayy please don't be despondent - just try to take all the positives from your MJ journey so far. You've done amazingly well with your 2 stone loss so far [three times more than me!] and are a big important part of this thread don't forget. You've got us lot in your boat and I for one love your lovely caring posts as you're always encouraging others. And, I bet you're thinner now than you were last Christmas aren't you? Sending supportive vibes. x

Aww thank you. Lovely to hear 🩶

@Fizzleawayy thanks for responding, I am in a Facebook group too and they had a Q and A tonight with someone from Oushk Pharmacy, she said I could message my prescriber if concerned but she wouldn’t be unduly worried without other symptoms.

Another group member put a comment that she had exactly the same thing without other symptoms, maybe it is just something that some people get. I also found a comment about it on Reddit and they had been told it was probably an autoimmune response. I do have a couple of autoimmune conditions so that could be possible.

I will definitely keep an eye on it, but I thought it was good to put this information here for others.

That’s good then. Fingers crossed it stays as it is and it’s just ‘one of those things’.

What’s the name of the Facebook group?

I mentioned this before but…

Im thinking of food tonight, first time since last month (although Iv still been behaving) and yet again I am 2 weeks from my last period.

This is my danger zone time for a few days.

I had the exact same last month and I thought the 5mg wasn’t working but I know now it’s this stupid period hormones.

HansHolbein · 07/12/2024 21:23

@Fizzleawayy Oh 😞 Horrible feeling. I know what you mean. Also about to hit 2st loss and I thought I would buy some new wide leg trousers as my old ones were hanging off me.

Picked them up today and they are still pretty much the same as my old 16’s?! I think I’m an apple shape, so it’s gone from my arms and legs but not from my fucking tummy!

Must admit I did feel a bit gutted about it, so I totally get how you’re feeling. But we are going to press on. In 3 months time I’m sure we will all be looking tremendously different.

WRT the food noise and period approaching, at least you’ve noticed it and can see how it’s happening. So you know it’s not ‘you’ it’s just your body.

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore Lovely to have you here and welcome to the group! Hairy ball sacks assemble!!

@TheChosenTwo Amazing! Thank you for the reminder about measurements. I did it on the first month but haven’t done it since..

@Losingthetimber Good point about underwear. My nicks and bras are definitely getting baggy. I don’t want to buy anything expensive yet if I keep losing. Maybe a trip to Asda??

@LumionaMoonsplash Keep going! I think I’m going to have a small loss this week too. I think we all have to have a few weeks like that sometimes. I may be talking out of my arse but I’m sure I saw another user saying recently that every time we lose 10% of our weight we hit a stall?

@Tohaveandtohold Well done, happy for you!

@Evenstar Wow! That is an incredible NSV. We need to hold on to those when we done see any movement on the scales. I’m definitely taking up less space. Especially in the car… I used to have my seat on the lowest setting, now I have moved up quite a bit. Must have been my bulbous arse.

@sshk EXACTLY! There is no way in hell I would still be doing this on my previous ‘diets’ 8 weeks in. I would have fucked it off in week 2!

Tohaveandtohold · 07/12/2024 22:50

I did my bonus dose tonight and I’m not happy. I did the hard twist the same way I did it last month and it worked but when I was administering the dose, it was just jamming then stopped moving. Good thing was that it was close to zero at that point so maybe I got 4.5 or something. I changed the needle but it still didn’t work and I now have bruises. I’ve just left it as that.
As I’m scared of using an insulin needle, I’ll just not bother with bonus dose anymore. I think a previous poster was right that the new pens make doing the bonus dose harder with the hard twist method.

ArtfullyCrumpled · 07/12/2024 23:43

@TheChosenTwo thanks for info - I think I'll just ditch the pen after 4 uses. Especially if it involves pliers. I'd rather know I'm sticking to exactly the right dosage.

PatchworkSilver · 08/12/2024 07:09

Thanks for mentioning levo...I was wondering why my losses were less, that makes send

NearlyNewHip · 08/12/2024 07:38

@HansHolbein I used Asda for a few needed bits and pieces for work. Same as you with the apple...at the moment I have sticks for legs, a pin head and a disproportionate large middle area. I find the trousers that are more bulky up top and taper down to nothing balance my silhouette a little (for jeans the mom style ones). And their t-shirt bras 2 for £10, I think, are fine, do what they're supposed do. No way I'm spending a lot for transitional clothes!

PatchworkSilver · 08/12/2024 08:07

Really great reading everyone's posts. I'm 8 weeks in and have lost 17 pounds, but on levothyroxine. Still really pleased. On 5mgs and have had horrid insomnia for last 2 weeks, had anyone else experienced this? On a side note, was bemused to say the least, to hear on the news that NHS can start to prescribe this... but the wait may be twelve YEARS!!
Keep it up all, this has been a revolution medication and insight to me.

letshavetea · 08/12/2024 08:21

@PatchworkSilver - Also on Levothyroxine and suffering from insomnia! I’m due my 11th dose tonight and will go up to 3.75 (stayed on 2.5 before due to a holiday). I’ve only lost 7 pounds - a a really slow loser! I’m now in a smaller pair of trousers so that was a good NSV yesterday!

lapuf · 08/12/2024 08:31

I am stuck at exactly 10st 10lbs after seeing 9.4 on the scales this week! I might move my weigh day to Tuesday as that seems to be the movement on the dial day Grin

igivein · 08/12/2024 08:46

Weigh-in day for me

SW: 20st 2lb
CW: 17 4lb

A 4.5lb loss this week for a total of 40lb in 9 weeks.
I know this is too much in a week, but I’m not sure what to do about it. If I could get it to 2lbs a week it would be healthier I think. Maybe it’s because I’m so huge and it will naturally slow down as I get smaller. I suppose it’s a good problem to have though.
I’ve got a mince pie tasting and a Christmas meal out this week though, so maybe next Sunday I’ll be moaning that the scales have gone the wrong way 😁

@leletshavetea thank you ... I'm sorry you have a slow burn too but it's the right direction. Hoping the insomnia does down as body gets more used to this dose! Congrats on the smaller trousers
