Had a reasonable Christmas food wise, was with people on the day and ate and drank the same as them. Got back onto my plan the next day but had a bit of a binge, some nuts and chocolate that had been gifted to me, and wine. It was towards the end of my jab week and the food noise volume was up.
I am worried that I’ve punctured the protective shield that Mounjaro has put around me… but have now taken my next dose, upped to 4mg, and am feeling on course again albeit less invulnerable.

I am worried that I’ve punctured the protective shield that Mounjaro has put around me

I can relate to that too, the feeling that I am not actually invincible or as in control as I thought. As I was munching my way through a lovely salty sharing bag of crisps that shouted to me from the kitchen cupboard last night (after the M&S Best Ever Yule Log - which was damn good! - and cream), knowing I should stop and thinking "I'll start again tomorrow" - the tomorrow that previously never came....

I have been successfully on 3.75mg for 22 weeks so the good news is I have scope to up dose, but I don't want to if I can resolve the issue without increasing. I am (was?) comfortable on 3.75mg and liked the effect I was getting.

So starting today, back to good habits - less sugar, salt and more water - bowl of soup out the freezer for lunch today. If I can do that for 2 weeks, which will include a week back in routine of work etc, I'll see if suppression starts kicking in again. If not it will be time to increase!

hellohellooo · 31/12/2024 18:02

@WeAllHaveWings that sounds bloody delicious

There was a reason your body wanted it and why not sometimes?!!!

Had my first takeaway yesterday since around 12 weeks

Managed half

It was 10/10

Taking it easy today with lovely greens and salmon

Well done all xxxxx

Happy New Year everyone!

Setting my 2025 weightloss goals.

So I am starting the year overweight with a BMI of 26.8 which is 176.5 lbs / 80.2 kg / 12 st 8.5 lbs.

I would like to be a healthy BMI by end of Feb a loss of 13 lbs in the next 8 weeks which I think is doable.

WeAllHaveWings · 01/01/2025 12:30

Happy New Year to you too @InfoSecInTheCity and too all the beautiful supportive posters on our thread! Wishing you all life changing weight loss / maintenance and health in 2025 ❤️

My first main target of 2025 will be 14st 3lbs.

A bit of a magical 🪄 target for me which will hit 3 mega goals 🥅🥅🥅 at the same time. I started MJ in June at 299lbs.

14st 3lbs will be BMI < 30, 100lbs lost and hitting Onederland (199lbs) all at the same time.

I have lost 70lbs so far and this will be another 30lbs. Not sure what/if I will set a date target as not sure how the loss will slow down yet, but if I can hit it by summer 😎 I'd be over the moon.

There will be lots of mini targets along the way too!

PrincessPeache · 01/01/2025 14:36

Happy New Year! Just purged my wardrobe of everything from size 18-24 because I AM. EVER GOING BACK!

Happy New Year! Just purged my wardrobe of everything from size 18-24 because I AM. EVER GOING BACK!

Done that today too. 5 bags have gone to the charity bin and I have a basket of stuff to wash, photograph and list on Vinted.

I've decided I'm keeping nothing at all that's too big (except my wedding dress), I don't want to have any 'Fall back' clothes.

Darlinghag · 01/01/2025 16:46

Congrats to those who have hit a target or set some great ones for 2025! Its so nice to hear other folks successes and hopes for the coming year!

I woke up to being soooo close to getting under 16st - 16st 0.3lbs!! So my Christmas bloat has been shed, and then some!

I had planned for 16st to be my end of Jan target, but illness moved me along very quick, so I have a new one, of 15st7lbs by the end of Jan, if possible! I seem to be averaging half a stone a month (december excepted!) so feels feasible.

I am also just 1.7kg from getting under 100, and my BMI is now 39.7 - can’t wait to get to overweight 😂😂 I am 24.3lbs from getting to 200lbs, and 30.3lbs from 100lbs lost (not all via MJ, but from my highest weight in 2021)

@WeAllHaveWings love your triple goal!! We have very similar journeys!!

I would like to be under 14stone by the last week of May, when I have big travel plans.

Longer term, I want to be at goal weight/size, whatever that may be, by the end of 2025. I will be on MJ for maintenance; I am very sure but would love to be ready for that in 2026.

Clothes wise, I have put loads of my 22-26 stuff on Vinted, sold loads too, and the rest are going to charity shop or clothing bank. I have retained a single size 22 dress thats currently still wearible - just in case an event crops up in the next few weeks - I do not have any more dresses!! Need to replenish, but my size and shape is still fluctating, I am generally 18-20, with a couple of 16/16-18 and the odd 22 that is still wearable. I don’t know what I like either, so must figure that out. The travel in May is for a wedding, so will need to think about that, but given how much I have changed shape, I will need to wait til a few weeks before.

I have noticed a lot more change in my face the last couple of weeks - I sometimes do a double take! I also have seen some changes in my calves - my fat had been softening on my body as I lose (which is a thing apparently - I googled) and my calves, which never have been massive comparatively, have started feeling similar. Can’t wait to wear regular boots next winter!!

Non weight or size related, I want to be fitter for 2025, tomorrow I will be dragging the walking pad back out, and I will be incorporating some youtube workouts as I have a kettle bell and a step too. Tree comes down today to make room!

Happy New Year everyone!

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 01/01/2025 20:15

I’ve just ordered my first Wegovy pen at 0.25g dose. I already monitor my eating closely so it’s really just to help me get from a 14 to a 12. I plan on staying on the low dose if I can. Also hoping it has anti inflammatory effects as that’s what I’m really after.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 01/01/2025 21:19

Welcome @EvangelicalAboutButteredToast. This thread is aimed at users who need to lose five stone or more to reach their target. If your objective is to drop a dress size from a 14 to a 12 then it sounds like this might not apply to you? Apologies if I have misinterpreted your post.

And back to reality with a bang!!! Work this morning (at least it's a very short 'week' until the weekend). Back to tracking my calories properly. Packed my lunch bag and tracked and took out some salmon to defrost for dinner this evening.
Can't say I'm too sad about the tracking and food, actually looking forward to some plain food after all the cheese x

Anley · 02/01/2025 08:27

Happy New Year everyone- I started 2025 only 0.6lbs from my end of year target which was a stone so I’m going to call that a win. Started exercising now that I feel lighter and in hope that it will boost my progress going forward. Also ordered my 5mg pen as I’m about to use the last 2.5 on Saturday. If I could lose stone and a half by my birthday in early March, I’ll be very happy but hoping to hit the target by the end of the year. 1 stone down, 4 more to go.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy year where all targets get hit!

Jfw82 · 02/01/2025 13:20

Happy New Year all! Christmas saw me hit my end of year target of 4 stone down. I'm a couple more pounds down with today's first weigh in for 2025 (24 weeks in and now 58lbs down!) I'm now 15lbs off hitting the top of healthy BMI with a target date of end of Feb!

Wishing everyone a happy weight loss journey in 2025!

alwaysscared · 02/01/2025 20:32

Happy New Year everyone!
Managed to get to 3 stone loss (well, a bit over 3 stone) on New Years Day weigh in. 19.3kg off all together, in just under 4 months. Not too bad!

Woohoo! Congrats @alwaysscared (and if you measure in both lbs and kg nearly a 20kg loss to celebrate ! )

alwaysscared · 02/01/2025 20:56

@Jfw82 thanks!!
Went out with my mum today, and she kept saying she felt like she was with a different person! (Only mums can get away with saying things like that 😂)

alwaysscared · 02/01/2025 20:57

Oh, oh, oh, bought a new jacket today too, size 14!! Not been that for YEARS! And I still have massive boobs!

Jfw82 · 02/01/2025 21:43

Amazing @alwaysscared I'm going to a wedding in the spring and ordered a size 12 dress on sale - it doesn't zip all the way but the hook and eye fastens and if I pushed DH I might be able to wear it (and not breathe Grin) but I'm actually confident that by April it will fit !

alwaysscared · 02/01/2025 21:46

@Jfw82 brilliant! I'm trying not to buy too much because, fingers crossed, I still lose more. But had to get the fleece jacket today as I'm so cold all the time! Very different to the constant sweaty mess I was pre MJ

KayeEyeEssEss · 02/01/2025 22:46

Happy New Year everyone - I’ve not posted for a while but I’ve been enjoying reading all your posts and cheering on your successes big and small. I’m through the Christmas season with a modest loss which I am hugely grateful for - there has been much feasting and enjoyment over the last couple of weeks and I’m still pointed in the right direction. Today I’m recording a 200g loss for the week and 1.2kg lost since the Friday before Christmas: on track with the 600-700g weekly loss which seems to be my norm. It’s sustainable, it allows my body to adjust, and it’s consistent - while higher losses seem desirable I am now realising this is the pace my body needs. I’m going to administer my third 8mg dose - the cost of the 10mg pens is eye-watering and I still have so far to go, so I’m hoping I can continue progress with this dosage for a while and eke every benefit from each pen for as long as possible. If all goes well (touch all the wood) I’ll finish this year either within or within a hairs breadth of a healthy BMI. What a gift!

I have my second surgeon's appointment on Monday morning re my hip. Approx 3 months since the last one and he asked me to lose some weight. Weigh in tomorrow morning and am on track to tell him I've lost 10kg since he last saw me. Hope he's pleased with me and it shows I'm trying and willing. Worrying about it not being enough in the back of my mind.....
Hoping to delay the hip surgery until the summer so my sister can travel over from Europe and help me for the first two/three weeks after having it done. Keeping everything crossed that another 6 months will put me very close to a normal-ish BMI. Have about another 25 kgs to go

hellohellooo · 03/01/2025 11:09

Guys the exhaustion the next day after injecting 10mg

Like I can barely function

This is week 5 of 10mg

WeeklyJab · 03/01/2025 11:42

A rough week for side effects - probably because I ham still eating Christmas indulgences, if I think about it, but unpleasant anyway.

For ages it felt like I was officially losing weight but looked exactly the same. In the last month that shifted - suddenly my clothes are too loose and people are commenting on my weight loss.

I have averaged 4kg/10lbs a month for this first three months. I still have 27kg/60lbs to go before I will be eligible for my hernia repair surgery, but at least I’m one third of the way there.

hellohellooo · 03/01/2025 11:50

Would it be madness to inject once a fortnight ? Maybe on a Friday so I can work off the exhaustion that weekend

Can't manage this weekly :(

SilenceInside · 03/01/2025 11:55

@hellohellooo what about just going back down a dose?
