Well done! 20lbs is fantastic! I'm at the 4 Week mark today and I've lost 17 lbs in total which I'm happy with, especially considering I ate lots of cake and sweets for a couple of days around Halloween! Have decided to keep on 2.5mg for another month, because I'm not feeling hungry on it, then go upto 5mg for Christmas...

You are doing amazing. Well done.

I have a 5mg pen so going up to it but hoping to stay at 5mg for 2-3 pens if possible. I did debate doing 2 extra weeks at 2.5mg and splitting a dose of 5mg. I still have good suppression but I think itโ€™s 50/50 with regards to the food noise. Itโ€™s coming back a bit although I am still able to control it.

The other night I was watching tv and kept thinking about some new biscuits I had in the cupboard, I got up to go and get a couple but then turned back around and sat down again.

Flumpaphone · 09/11/2024 09:54

Morning everyone.

Third injection done this morning and really pleased, I lost 4lb last week and 9lb overall.

Going into wk4 and my suppression is still great. It's been a hectic week at work with some corporate meetings with buffets breakfasts and lunches (unusual these days with budgets etc but it must just have been the week for it). I'd normally be the first in there and I can't resist a buffet - wasn't remotely interested. I ended up picking some very small bits because I knew I had to eat something.

I'm also finding myself gravitating to healthier options, not know if that is psychological, but it's nice. We had a late parents evening this week and DH suggested grabbing something from the chippy on the way home but I found myself with a bit of an aversion. Same with sugar, I'm not normally a sugar eater anyway but the thought turns me right off now.

The only side effect this week has been constipation, but a Boots own natural senna tablet before bed seems to have done the trick.

Hope everyone else is well.

Started 12 days ago
Starting Weight: 209 lbs
Current weight; 202 lbs.
Target weight: 170-175lbs

Suppression still good, just coming towards the end of my second injection. I am feeling very very good and optimistic about being able to get healthy for the first time in years....

I'm already losing the horrible puffiness in my face and feeling more like the 'real me'.

MissSmith80 · 09/11/2024 11:20

Morning everyone.

It's mid week for me (jab on Tuesdays), so thought I'd just check in.

I've had a really busy week and had my
Covid and Flu jab too so feeling mildly under the weather.

I'm not sure what the scales will say - I don't feel like I've lost weight but maybe my body shape is changing, certainly clothes not only feeling better but I'm enjoying clothes again which is usually a good sign for me. I even splashed out on a new top last night - I ordered 2 sizes as I think I'm in between, but really hoping that the smaller at least fits so I can send back the bigger one and work to making the smaller one look nice for Christmas with a few more pounds off.

I've got the 5mg pen ready to go although will use the bonus dose next week - fingers crossed there's enough to give me around 3.75 as I'd like to bridge to the 5mg.

Have a lovely weekend everyone xx

Some amazing losses happening for people - well done. Iโ€™m W6D1 today and only lost 1 lb last week! Feel a bit disappointed as Iโ€™ve been eating healthily, exercising and watching portion sizes. Obviously to shift the weight I now need to either cut portions some more or just be patient with the slow progress! Itโ€™s hard not to be dis when you hear of the great losses. Also, my friend isnโ€™t in MJ and sheโ€™s lost 5lbs in two weeks which has made me wonder !! She id say it was really hard whereas Iโ€™m finding the changes with MJ really easy. Happy weekend everyone

letshavetea · 09/11/2024 11:46

@EVK - youโ€™ve done really well. I donโ€™t lose more than a 1lb a week (or put on or lose nothing!). The thing is you donโ€™t always know peoplesโ€™s starting weight or other details (eg age, co-morbidities etc). The slow losers thread is helpful in that respect. Good luck!

TheChosenTwo · 09/11/2024 12:24

Iโ€™m due my third injection of 2.5mg today, have lost 3lbs this week and I think 4 last week which is half a stone, really pleased. Not huge losses like some are getting but itโ€™s coming off which is the main thing. Put some jeans on last night which I often have to undo when I sit down and didnโ€™t need to so Iโ€™m pleased to have the confirmation that Iโ€™m a bit less bloated.
Definitely a bit constipated as I havenโ€™t been to the toilet since Wednesday or Thursday, itโ€™s quite normal for me to go a few days inbetween but I wish Iโ€™d been able to go before I weighed in ๐Ÿ˜‚

IlovetoKnitandRead · 09/11/2024 12:31

So in my first 4weeks I lost 8lb in total , although small compared to many losses here I am chuffed. I am the lowest weight that I have been for over 3 years and am under 40 on my BMI. Next goal is new number bracket and under 200 lbs (currently 203)

4 weeks on 2.5mg with little supression for weeks 3 and 4.
Now on 5mg
I am 59 and 5ft in height.

PenguinLove1 · 09/11/2024 13:32

Three weeks in and ive lost nearly 18 pounds - im absolutely delighted!

Ive taken my last 2.5 yesterday, im looking forward to moving up as im starting to feel hungry but still have very little food noise so finding it fairly easy to eat healthy foods in smaller portions.

Some surprising other benefits i didnt expect - Im sleeping MUCH better than i have in years, my anxiety is better, and best of all, havent wanted to take any co-codomol or drink wine - im slightly ashamed to admit i was starting to have a problem with both but ive basically been cold turkey for both as i have zero urges to drink anything and therefore have no hangovers and dont need the painkillers - its been a revelation!

I have a lot to lose but am feeling very positive about the journey now so wanted to share!

Also 4 weeks in and 8lbs down with little suppression lady two weeks. I need to be happier with the weight loss as itโ€™s in the right direction.
.
Have you taken your first 5mg? Due to take my first tomorrow but a bit anxious. Iโ€™ve spent a lot of time rushing to find a toilet these last 4 weeks and itโ€™s starting to get obvious!!

IlovetoKnitandRead · 09/11/2024 14:20

@Ilovepeanutbuttersandwiches I took my first 5mg yesterday morning and have not had any side effects so far. I am out all day todayso fingers crossed.

Try not to be discouraged seeing other peoples loses. Everyone has a different starting weight, activity levels, age, height.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

I donโ€™t mind sharing my stats if it helps others not to feel as discouraged.

Iv lost 20lbs in 4 weeks but I am 34, 5โ€™7, started at 16stone 10lbs, no disabilities or anything that prevents me moving more, I have a dog so need to take her for a walk regularly.

HansHolbein · 09/11/2024 15:16

Hi all!

Nice to catch up everyoneโ€™s progress and how they are doing.

Tbh yes I have noticed a reduction in libido. Itโ€™s good when we do it but I feel a bit meh about it.

Re loosing weight and becoming visible again.. thatโ€™s a downside. Iโ€™m pretty invisible right now and I like that.

Itโ€™s my last day on 2.5mg tomorrow. I am grateful that I have had a good first month. I feel like a bit of a twat because other people havenโ€™t had a good time but who knows what the future will hold for me with the 5mg. Iโ€™m definitely nervous about it.

Whilst the indifference towards food has been great, what has really changed for me is how my life is opening up now Iโ€™m not obsessed with food. Iโ€™m doing things I wouldnโ€™t normally do. Exercise, more sociable, putting myself
out there. I feel free!

Very glad we have a group we can all support each other in.

For anyone wondering about stats..

I did my second 5mg injection on Thursday, and the suppression is massive, after feeling minimal after the first one. Worried it's a bit TOO much now, wonder if it will settle?

MontyJinks · 09/11/2024 16:27

No-one in real life knows I'm on Mounjaro, so just wanted to share on here that I've lost my first stone ๐Ÿฅณ woohoo, it's feels sooooooo good! ๐ŸŽ‰

HansHolbein · 09/11/2024 16:38

@PolaDeVeboise Iโ€™m sorry, I donโ€™t know. Iโ€™m due to take my first 5mg on Monday and Iโ€™m definitely worried. My suppression sort of wore off a couple of weeks ago so thatโ€™s why I ordered the 5mg. Suppression has been very high this week so Iโ€™m dreading Monday tbh.

@MontyJinks Woooohoooo! How do you feel?!

rockingbird · 09/11/2024 17:18

Jab day for me.. I've put it off all day ๐Ÿ™ˆ
So at the of week two my total loss is 12lb
Onto week 3 we go, praying I'm not as bloody ill as I have been.. the last couple of days I've been able to eat a little more and feel almost human. The electrolytes are keeping me going, I've added collagen powder to my morning coffee this week and I'm taking biotin tablets (apparently the two work together). I simply cannot afford to lose any hair as the menopause has done a good job of that..!!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and keeping on track. I'm out for dinner tonight which will be interesting โ˜บ๏ธ

HansHolbein · 09/11/2024 17:47

@rockingbird amazing well done! Enjoy dins tonight ๐Ÿ˜‹

Tohaveandtohold · 09/11/2024 17:51

I'm always checking here as this thread moves really fast and it's good to see and read everyone's updates. Well done @MontyJinks on losing your first stone and to everyone else.
Weigh day today and this week Iโ€™ve lost 1kg exactly. my stats:

SW: 87.1kg (192lbs)
Goal: Maybe 60kg (132lbs)
CW: 78.5kg (173lbs)
Total weight-loss in 5 weeks is 8.6kg or 18.9lbs

My BMI is now 29.7. Iโ€™m still obese (ethnicity) but feels good to be in the twenties. Next mini goal is to lose 10% of my starting weight, weโ€™ll see if I get there in 2 weeks!

I'm starting with my new 5mg pen tonight but as Iโ€™m still losing weight on 2.5 mg even though Iโ€™ve had minimal suppression the last 2 weeks, Iโ€™m not sure if I should count clicks to stay on 2.5 dose or move up to 5 as Iโ€™m worried about side effects.

TheChosenTwo · 09/11/2024 17:51

@MontyJinks congrats, thatโ€™s fab news ๐Ÿฅณ
I havenโ€™t told anyone in real life either, my biggest dc is back from uni this weekend and we had lunch out yesterday, breakfast out today and a lovely lunch today, itโ€™s been difficult!

MontyJinks · 09/11/2024 17:52

@HansHolbein It feels amazing! I feel so different already but obvs don't look it as no-one has yet noticed, apart from the Asda delivery man ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚
