Great loss @rockingbird, I don't know if this helps but my perimenopause hair got quite thin and I've been using Champo for about a year now and it's been brilliant, my hair is really good and thickening up. It's expensive (and a trade off now I'm on the Mounjaro) but a little goes a long way, one bottle lasts me three months.

@rockingbird
I take collagen and a biotin supplement too for my thin menopause hair (I had chemo, lost all my hair, it grew back) I have to say the thinning and change in structure of hair due to menopause has been almost as distressing. Collagen etc. has really helped but has taken a good 8 months. I also use Regain for women which has helped but equally has taken about a year for results to really show. Hopefully you will continue to get some appetite back and be able to enjoy meals. Thatโ€™s why, although my weight loss is now slow Iโ€™ve stuck with 2.5mg as not being able to eat does have an impact on hair growth!!Hope things really improve for you this week.

Thanks to everyone for your support around slow slow weight loss ๐Ÿฉท

rockingbird · 10/11/2024 07:02

Thanks for the recommendations @Flumpaphone @EVK I'll try anything! I'm sticking with 2.5 pen to hopefully keep the hair loss to a minimum.. The meal last night was OK, I ate very little and it was mentioned but I just brushed it off ๐Ÿ™ˆ I've woken up with the dreaded thirst and can feel the sickly feeling a little again this morning. No time to worry about that as it's Remembrance Sunday and I'm out supporting the teens at the scouts march through town. It's always so emotional as my mother passed on 11/11 so it has two very sad meanings to me. How's everyone doing this morning? Is it a lazy day or full on Sunday.! xx

Relaxedandchilled · 10/11/2024 07:07

Well my half pound up has come off, so was due to the boozey cocktails last week, injected my first 5mg yesterday and still feel fine today. No side effects.

ApolloandDaphne · 10/11/2024 07:22

Third week finished

SW 14st 9lb
CW 14st 0.5lb

8.5lb down which is amazing. I'm hoping next week i slip into the next stone bracket. I haven't been 13st something for a long time.

Fizzleaway1 · 10/11/2024 08:00

Last night I went out for a very nice meal for my husbands birthday.

I only ate half my main, had a side of long stem broccoli and no pudding but I think thatโ€™s the biggest meal Iv eaten since starting MJ and I still feel so full now.

Caffeineneedednow · 10/11/2024 08:24

One month in and 1 stone down.

SW 16 st 2 lbs
CW 15 st 2 lbs

Started on 10th Oct so exactly 1 month. I'm so happy

EVK · 10/11/2024 08:49

@rockingbird Itโ€™s a day of walking and the gym for me followed by housework and food shopping! Tomorrow I will think of you along with my grandfather at 11/11. I hope there will be some peace to be found in the day for you.

On the eating front and feeling nauseous- do try to eat a little something regularly because it definitely helps with the sickness xx

igivein · 10/11/2024 09:10

Sunday weigh-in for me, five weeks in.

SW 20.2
CW 18.5

3.6lb loss this week, which will do nicely.

Getting really close to 2 stones which would be brilliant, with the possibility of another half stone by Christmas- which would make for a very merry Christmas indeed!

Something happened this week that would normally have sent me into a complete chocolate frenzy - I had a car accident and my carโ€™s written off. It did cross my mind to get chocolate, but I just thought โ€˜no I donโ€™t want anyโ€™, then felt like Iโ€™d slipped into a parallel universe or something ๐Ÿ˜

Pegsmum · 10/11/2024 09:33

Day 4 of my first 5mg and the nausea is awful. First time Iโ€™ve had it since starting and hoping it wears off! Before I went for the 5mg I had thought about doing 3.75 and now I wish I had. Has anyone gone up a dose and then come back down?

comewhinewith · 10/11/2024 09:36

Urgh - I feel like I have a food hangover!

I ate more than I would normally yesterday - not even a lot, some sushi at lunch, a few squares of chocolate, then a starter from the Indian takeaway in the evening - and I feel like I've been run over by a bus this morning and was up in the night with acid reflux.

I'm going to take it very easy this morning!

Fizzleaway1 · 10/11/2024 09:48

@rockingbird Iโ€™m trying to think of something to do. My youngest (whoโ€™s 11) has non verbal autism and he is being so so loud this morning with his screeching. I cant stay in all day and listen to it ๐Ÿ˜‚ so although I donโ€™t need anything at all I will probably go and wonder around some shops, get the kids lunch somewhere before coming back home.

I already did the week shop yesterday so no need to do that.

Then I should do some housework, finish washing the kids uniform for school tomorrow, make pack lunches. My husband is working today for extra cash so heโ€™s busy until about 4-5pm.

Although I Hope you are feeling ok today this evening. Normally Iโ€™d say have a nice cup of tea and a chocolate bar to cheer yourself up but no chocolate for us ๐Ÿ˜‚

Tohaveandtohold · 10/11/2024 09:54

@Pegsmum Sorry youโ€™re having a rough time on 5mg. I was worried about side effects yesterday when I started my second pen so decided to inject 3.75mg and this morning Iโ€™ve been fine. I think Iโ€™ll stick to 3.75 for this pen and see if I can brave moving up to 5 after. Hopefully someone will come along to advice on if you can reduce your dose as Iโ€™ve not done this.
@igivein and @Caffeineneedednow well done on your loss, so impressive.
So far, today has been good on 3.75. I have a meal with my friends this afternoon and I plan to look through the menu before going so that I donโ€™t go off track there. Also, Iโ€™m having a light breakfast to offset it

Fizzleaway1 · 10/11/2024 09:55

On another note has anyone noticed their food shop reduce in price?

Im spending at least ยฃ20 a week less at the moment. As im not eating anywhere near as much and Iv had to freeze some stuff I bought as I never got around to eating it and I hate waste.

My freezer is a big one and itโ€™s now jam packed.

Last week I didnโ€™t buy a single thing for myself as I had loads still from the previous weeks and this week I bought a couple of protein yogurts and some quick pasta things for lunch at work.

I still buy snacks for the kids and husband but itโ€™s nice to see the food bill reduce a bit!

Pegsmum · 10/11/2024 10:03

@Tohaveandtohold Thanks, I think
you are very wise bridging the increase by injecting 3.75โ€ฆhindsight is a great thing! Iโ€™d told myself not to mess about with dosage and stick to whatโ€™s prescribed but regretting that now ๐Ÿคฃ. It will be interesting to hear what your suppression is like on 3.75, please keep me posted!

Well done. What date did you start?

sorry to hear about the car! Hope you are ok!

I started on 6th October, so been going 5 weeks now. I canโ€™t believe how well itโ€™s working. Since the menopause all attempts to lose weight have been abject failures. Itโ€™s like the MJ has reset my metabolism to pre-menopause levels.

Iโ€™m fine after the accident-thanks for asking, no injuries other than to he car

Thatโ€™s great. It really is a miracle drug for lots of people, the way it quietens food noise is amazing.

Glad youโ€™re ok, hope you get a replacement soon.

HansHolbein · 10/11/2024 10:22

@rockingbird Have a good day today. Going to be emotional for you โค๏ธ

Iโ€™m cooking a roast.. not sure how much I will be able to eat but Iโ€™m looking forward to all the vegetables!

@Relaxedandchilled Great news, well done. You must be happy! Glad you are feeling ok on 5mg. Little nervous to do my first one tomorrow..

@ApolloandDaphne Well done! Amazing! Have you noticed a change in your clothes yet?

@Fizzleaway1 Happy birthday Mr Fizzle ๐ŸŽ‚ glad you had a nice meal!

@Caffeineneedednow Well bloody done! You must feel great!

@igivein Wow! Amazing progress. Happy for you! I am so sorry to read about your car. Glad youโ€™re ok! Dealing with all the bollocks around accidents and insurance is the annoying part ugh! Youโ€™re totally right, before MJ I would have reached for food; it really does change your mindset.

@Pegsmum Oh no! You poor thing. Everything I have read about 5mg and nausea is that it does pass.. maybe some sips of ice cold water and plain food.. little and often? Maybe some anti sickness tablets from Boots?

@comewhinewith I had that during the week after one bloody protein shake! ONE PROTEIN SHAKE!

Definitely noticed food shop has gone down and spending in general!

Missreginafalange · 10/11/2024 10:22

Morning all, well done to all on the losses this morning.

Two weird things happened yesterday I came on my period, now normally I inhale a large bar of chocolate around the time just before which is a dead give away that period is on its way as I'm normally a huge chocolate eater, but this month didn't happen and I've not wanted any today either...

Also last night other half and eldest had been to football so when we picked them up they wanted a KFC, now I felt hungry yesterday (on 2.5mg) and though ok I will have some but still stay in my calories but I ate the corn on the cob and 1 mini fillet and felt like I was done. Such a strange feeling
