Not a good day. I am at the end of week 4 and suppression has been waning all week. Today I felt like my old over eating self with constant food noises. I ended up eating a snickers and 2 Baileys truffles. Not really excesive but I am so angry. 2.5 mg has done very little for me except prepare me for the 5mg on Saturday, so fingers crossed I will feel as good as I did on weeks 1 and 2. It was wonderful to feel motivated and positive. Today I just feel like crap๐Ÿ˜ฅ

I think the off day here and there is absolutely fine and part of life really (and the onward journey once we are all done with the jabs). I felt like this a few weeks ago after a bad weekend and just chalked it up to experience and moved on. I am still on 2.5mg and the suppression is back and food noise has died down but it's a rollercoaster. You can do it!

Hi. Hope itโ€™s ok to join you, just found this thread after a break from MN.

Iโ€™m reading about your incredible losses on MJ. Has anyone not had initial loss? Iโ€™m about to take my 4th dose of 2.5, so almost 3 weeks in, and Iโ€™ve lost the grand total of 2lb. On the one hand at least there has been a turn around in the scales after a long struggle since perimenopause started. But itโ€™s quite disheartening, especially as I donโ€™t really understand why. Iโ€™ve felt the suppression and the lowering of the โ€˜noiseโ€™ that Iโ€™ve seen described in this thread (and to be honest, Iโ€™d take that even without any weight loss - I hadnโ€™t realised how much the noise was weighing me down and controlling my life/behavior, itโ€™s such a relief to switch it off!)

Anyone else not seeing huge losses?

Yes me, I have had 4 doses and lost 1kg I am able
to eat normally and still have the same cravings. I felt fuller after eating for the first 2 weeks but that has gone now. I have noticed that I am eating chocolate less however, I used to have daily chocolate or cake / cookies in the evenings and have only had this twice in a month since starting.

I've lost 4 pounds in the first 2 weeks, and was a bit disappointed. I am W3D5 of 2.5 and only lost 2 pounds so far. I am going up to 5mg next week in the hope that it kicks in a bit quicker. I am barely getting suppression.

Yes I donโ€™t have suppression either. Iโ€™m going up to 5mg on 18th hopefully. They do say itโ€™s not a treatment dose so trying not to get too down.

Yes that is true and I need to remember that. Hopefully 5mg will work better for me.

Missreginafalange · 08/11/2024 14:22

@JurassicPark4Eva well done on the loss. I think this is why people say you shouldn't weigh yourself once a week as that time you pick could be when your body is having an up fluctuations because of inflammations, if you eaten more salt the day before so your body has taken on more water or you've just exercised etc. if you weigh yourself every day then take an average over the week that would be your true fat loss for the week as we naturally go up and down throughout the week. Or only weigh every two week or a month etc.

Someone can probably explain it better than me but glad you weighed this morning and saw that loss as you could have been really disheartened.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Iโ€™m glad to see Iโ€™m not alone because it means Iโ€™m not necessarily doing it all wrong. Itโ€™s a bit disheartening to hear stories of massive loss when youโ€™re getting nowhere. I guess we just trust the process though.

SW 133.7 CW - 127.7

Week 2: -4!

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 08/11/2024 17:27

Suppression completely vanish over the last 24 hrs. Injection 6 due tonight so hopefully that will improve things but my God the appetite is back with a vengeance.

UtterlyQuackers · 08/11/2024 18:01

Hey checking into the new thread.

Hope everyone is well?

lapuf · 08/11/2024 18:06

I'm w3d5 and suppression felt like it was wearing off but only managed half my dinner (did have a big lunch!) so not going to override that.
I've had the reorder prompt from medexpress, will move up to 5 but do a 3.75 phasing dose

Fizzleaway1 · 08/11/2024 18:10

@OrlandointheWilderness well done!

notenoughcaffeine · 08/11/2024 18:58

Checking in too.
Took my first dose Monday and I've had awful diarrhoea and sulphur burps since Tuesday. It's been awful ๐Ÿ˜ž

No worries, we all react differently - I obviously just have a high tolerance for it! Itโ€™s like pregnancy we all have different experiences with it and symptoms. I have faith that a higher dose will help because I felt โ€œdifferentโ€ week 1&2. Hope you see some progress as you move forward with time.

@OrlandointheWilderness

Wow that's a fantastic weight loss! ๐Ÿ‘

RunSlowTalkFast · 08/11/2024 20:42

Well over 24 hours since I did my first 5mg jab and not feeling any different yet.

Genuinely getting worried I'll be one of the few people it doesn't work for and in a few years I'll be one of the last remaining fat people on earth! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜ญ

OrlandointheWilderness · 08/11/2024 20:46

Thanks guys!

Seattlegirl72 · 08/11/2024 21:20

I do understand- I am coming to the end of week 3. 4th jab tomorrow and have ordered new 5mg.

First 2 weeks lost 6lb then last week put 1 on. So only 5lb in 3 weeks. I do have suppression, eat half of what I usually eat. So don't know why?
Couldn't it be not enough water ? I know I am not having 100g of protein.

Typical day
B- cup of tea - multivitamins
L- protein bagel /ham salad - protein yoghurt.
D side plate of chicken rice (or something like that)

sparklesandfizz · 08/11/2024 22:24

Hello everyone I have finally decided to post and would like to join this group please.
I am due to take dose 6 tomorrow and did move up to 5mg last week.
Had managed get from 115 kg prior to starting MJ but felt like a slog however these 5 weeks have been a game changer. It feels sustainable and for the first time in my adult life food hasnโ€™t been an issue. I can easily say no to treats and am eating healthy foods in small amounts but being mindful to hit 1200 kcal a day. Excited to see where I can get to by Christmas but the plan for me is definitely long term treatment. Itโ€™s been a great help seeing everyoneโ€™s progress, some great losses so far
SW 108.7

GW ???

flowerlady2 · 08/11/2024 23:46

W3 D1, Iโ€™ve lost 1lb this week; 7lbs since starting but definitely finding suppression has eased off considerably. Picked up 5mg pen for a fortnightโ€™s time, hoping that is more effective. Currently following WW Glp 1 program- is anyone else using this?

JustMoved123 · 09/11/2024 02:29

Hi, Iโ€™ve been reading but not posted for a couple of weeks. Iโ€™ve lost around 5kg in 4 weeks which Iโ€™m pretty happy with, weโ€™ve still been out at weekends socialising. Iโ€™ve had wine and meals out and have tolerated everything well though I am able to eat small portions and say no to desert. Iโ€™ve not had crisps or chocolate since I started which is amazing and I have both in the house.

Big question for all those who have gone to 5mg - Iโ€™m due my first 5mg tomorrow night BUT Iโ€™m flying from Australia to UK on Monday morningโ€ฆ. I think Iโ€™ll stay on 2.5 just in caseโ€ฆ what do you all think.

letshavetea · 09/11/2024 05:38

@JustMoved123 - Iโ€™d definitely wait until you get home to increase! Iโ€™m on holiday for two weeks and wonโ€™t increase until my return!

Relaxedandchilled · 09/11/2024 05:57

Well Iโ€™m half a pound up this week. But Iโ€™m ok with it, for the simple reason I think it is water weight, I had a very very boozy night out on Thursday with many cocktails. And generally I weigh more if I drink.

i think the other reason Iโ€™m not bothered is weight loss is just a matter of time.

ive taken my first 5mg this morning.

Fizzleaway1 · 09/11/2024 09:11

Week 4 weigh in and I lost 1lb this week. Smaller then I would have liked but itโ€™s probably my body catching up.

Total of 20lbs lost in 4 weeks!

Will be moving up to 5mg this week on shot day.

Well done! 20lbs is fantastic! I'm at the 4 Week mark today and I've lost 17 lbs in total which I'm happy with, especially considering I ate lots of cake and sweets for a couple of days around Halloween! Have decided to keep on 2.5mg for another month, because I'm not feeling hungry on it, then go upto 5mg for Christmas...
