Yes, my last two 2.5mg jabs. I get this with my migraine injections too, so I'm treating this the same now - clean skin with alcohol wipe, inject, clean again the slather with hydrocortisone cream. Works for my Aimovig so hopefully will for Mounjaro too!

Urrrgh. Week 7, day 5 on 5mg and my insides have been falling out all night!

I’ve been so lucky with very few side effects and explosive diarrhoea has caught up with me. I’ve not eaten anything out of the ordinary and have spent all night going backwards and forwards to the bathroom.

@FuckOffGerms not nice, let’s hope it’s a one off. If you can, have an easy day today and catch up on some rest!

The dreaded sulphur burps have finally caught up with me on waking this morning. My first undesirable side effect.

@FuckOffGerms Oh no, it’s awful isn’t it. I hope it clears up for you soon. The same thing happened to me a few days after my first 5mg, I’m very careful what I eat and I’d had very little side effects before too. I’ve gone down to 3.75 and been ok but can feel suppressions is wearing off now, bit scared of trying 5mg again!

@EVK thank you. I’m still in bed, DH is wrangling the DC and hopefully I can catch up on sleep.

@Pegsmum It could understand if it was my first 5mg or if it was just after taking a dose, but it’s day 5! I’d naively assumed the worst of the side effects come soon after jabbing.

I'm feeling for all of you struggling with side effects on the higher doses. I'm a lightweight - still on 2.5mgs the side effects of which are more than enough for me to deal with. I don't mind the slower weight loss because at least the food noise has stayed away - I guess that was the main cause of me being where I am weight wise in the first place due to the constant snacking. I still have a good amount of suppression but not quite as much as in the beginning. I'm dealing with that well so far and will stay on 2.5mgs for as long as I keep losing something each week.The downside of all this is that I'm only 8lbs down though.

4lbs off this week - delighted! I did a 3.75 dose and will do that again. I'm eating out a lot this week so it could be a tricky one!!

@recklessgran Im a lightweight too, staying in 2.5mgs, this is week 8 for me. I’m losing about 1lb a week now. 8lbs is great - just keep going 🙌🏻

Well, took my 4th shot of 5mg on Saturday and can safely say I am moving on up. It's only Monday and I am sat thinking about what I am having for dinner (I just had my breakfast too 😂

I decided to do a second shot of 5mg yesterday despite feeling a bit off last week. I feel really nauseous today. Wish I had gone back to 2.5.

@EVK my problem now is that I'm at the end of my 2.5mgs pen and have a 5mgs pen next that I ordered before I realised that I wouldn't be moving up. I know I can do 30 clicks for my 2.5mgs so I'm not worried about doing that. So, I'll be able to get my next 5 x 2.5mgs out of that 5mg pen within the 30 days. I'm just struggling with the idea of binning half a pen and keep wondering if I could get away with going past the 30 day recommended deadlinet? FWIW I do keep my pens in the fridge. Has anyone actually dared to do this? [Wuss here and probably won't risk it but still interested to hear if anyone actually has?]

@recklessgran there was someone on one of the threads I've been reading who is getting it prescribed by the doctor via NHS. She was confused as he had said do a certain amount of clicks (can't remember how many) and not as per the instructions. People on here said you need to ask the GP to make sure. She came back and said as it's prescribed he had ordered her a higher mg pen and was telling her to do the click method as it works out much cheaper. This leads me to believe there is a fair amount of leeway in the shelf life. Especially if kept in the fridge the whole time.

Also on a previous thread there was a screenshot from Numan pharmacy (I think) stating a shelf-life after opening of 56 days if refrigerated. I looked it up on Numan at the time and found it. Obviously this is just what I have read/looked at so take from it what you will

The NHS one I refer to was only posting in the last few weeks as well so you might be able to find it.

@qotsa thank you - that's really useful information and something to think about. I'm struggling with the whole concept of the pen suddenly being rendered void on the strike of midnight on day 30 after opening that's all and interested on others take on this.

Since going up to 5mg (2nd dose) I've been feeling nausea and last night had a dose of the galloping majors. I think it was the lentil soup! 🤢 my tummy is sore. I'll need to watch what I'm eating better.

Morning all, weekly update from me.

Down 3.2lb this week. Just did my 3rd 5mg. I have taken it as prescribed.

SW 16st 2.7lbs/102.8kg - BMI 37.7
CW 14st 8.3lbs/92.6kg - BMI 34
Loss so far 1st 8.4lbs/22.4lbs

For me, all is going well. No symptoms or side effects. My PCOS symptoms are getting so much better and my anxiety has pretty much gone. Even without the weight loss it’s worth it just for those two things! I eat very clean. I will order 7.5mg this week.

Also feeling ropey. Started Friday and still feel nauseous and just generally off. In week 6 of 2.5 and this started 4 days after jab day so initially thought it was unrelated. The fact I am burping much more than normal (though thankfully without the added sulphur) makes me suspicious though. Should be injecting again today but am going to delay until I feel a bit better if not just give up and hope that a stone off will give me the kick-start I need to managed without the MJ. It had been all going so well too!

One more week with 5mg then will go up to 7.5, I dont think I will bother with bonus dose so I can go up a week sooner!

Just ordered my next pen 🙅‍♀️ I'm going up to 5mg as I've had two 2.5 ones (only in week 5 golden dose).. so have a full pen at 2.5 to go.. reading some of these recent comments I'm not sure I'll do the full 5mg so will likely count the clicks!! Weight loss has been steady and the nausea has calmed down a bit thank goodness. By the time I start it, it'll be Jan so I'll get through the festive season on 2.5 - which is wise. I've had some referral codes used to which means the pen only costs me £33.94 delivered!! 😮

@FuckOffGerms i hear you on the diarrhoea, was coming out of me like water this morning (sorry TMI) although it really was my own fault, we got given a large Toblerone orange that i opened for the kids to try and thought i would have a piece as not touched chocolate in weeks, well 2.5 chunks later and i felt a little off and then this morning was the bathroom dash. Have been really good with little to no side effects so perhaps got a little cocky but at least i know rich choc is not for me on this 😆 Hope you feel better soon, i am working from home so not too bad, hoping to feel better before i pick the kids up later.

@TheChosenTwo i used my teeth to twist the pen for the golden dose, although it didnt work as the pen just swizzled round and administered nothing, going to but the insulin needles for next time

My loss is slow but steady. I’ve decided to move down a bit to 3.75 for the next few doses. I moved up to 5mg, but struggling a bit. Also, I can see how the dose is building up in my system and want to tamper it down. 3.75 will give me a range of between 2.75 and 6.00 because of the build up - Shotsy shows it well and I’m very much struggling on the days it’s over 6 a.t.m.
