I will be taking my eighth injection tomorrow. Last 3 injections have been 3.75 as was too nervous to go to 5mg. This week I have been snacking more, but still have a couple of nauseous days and I think if I go to 5mg it will make it worse? Plus travelling back in the car from France on Wed and would hate to feel sick ๐Ÿคข

Iโ€™m not sure if Iโ€™m the only one, but I felt more suppression when I first started on 2.5mg, havenโ€™t felt a change since increasing, in fact less? Weight has slowed down, but have lost about 9.2% so far, weigh day tomorrow. I donโ€™t feel as thirsty as I did either, so really have to remember to drink lots of water during the day, I would say I drink half of what I did in the first 4 weeks.
My nemesis is chocolate and I have had the urge to eat and did eat some this week.
I suppose we need to think about willpower more for when we wean ourselves off MJ, the food noise is less but my cravings have increased a little.

I also didnโ€™t feel any difference from 2.5mg to 5mg. They feel the same. I just seem to burp more since starting 5mg.

morbidcuriosity · 22/11/2024 16:21

If it was me @ChimneyRock I would pop a new needle on and do it again.. as if it's your 5th dose.. you won't me over dosing as 4 would of already gone from the pen..
If the needle is crap then it won't plunge if its not on correctly it won't plunge either.

Shame to waste, there is normally just a bit over a full dose left and with the hard twist method you never get it all out cos of the shape of the glass..

ChimneyRock · 22/11/2024 17:13

I can't get it to twist either way now. Even with a really hard yank. And the purple plunger won't plunge. I think it's fucked.
I am resigned to "losing" the money, as it were.

JulesK17 · 22/11/2024 20:06

I have read some replies on my post and thank you all.
It would be naive of me to think it was all the drug in the beginning, however, I do think it did start to work, I had no interest at all with chocolate, that is the only naughty thing I eat, I donโ€™t drink much alcohol and eat very clean.
During menopause I got metabolic syndrome, menopause can trigger it wouldnโ€™t allow me to keep my insulin straight and I became insulin resistant, not diabetic though. I go to the gym 4 times a week and the weight kept creeping so MJ was recommended by my endocrinologist.
I also started to feel full and was unable to finish my meals, my appetite has come back to pre MJ levels.
I would like to go to 5mg but I have to work and feel the side effects will be too much.
My friend has been on 2.5mg for 3 months and still looses weight and has no cravings? Horse for courses I supposeโ€ฆ.
Once I am back from France I might increase the dosage. I have 4kgs left to lose until my goal weight then hopefully I can kick the chocolate addiction down the road.
Everyone is different and itโ€™s a learning curve for us all. Itโ€™s great to read other peoples experiences, but then to remember itโ€™s unique to them and we all react differently. Happy Friday to all ๐Ÿ˜„

ArtfullyCrumpled · 22/11/2024 21:21

@ItsMintUpNorth Happy birthday for yesterday and what a wonderful gift to yourself! The best feeling. I feel a stone lighter and I can see it in my face can you? It's a lot of weight. So happy!

lickycat · 22/11/2024 22:16

recklessgran · 22/11/2024 10:11

@lickycat I'm with you in the slow losers club but I really don't care. I've struggled so much in the past with stupidly low calorie diets and barely no loss that I'm actually thrilled with my half stone. Let's just keep going and as you say, focus on our own paths. I've largely been on less than 1000 calories to achieve what I have so imagine my metabolism must be having a party with yours in the basement!

Just glad to find I do still have a metabolism to be honest ๐Ÿ˜‚

NCMJ · 23/11/2024 01:09

I haven't posted but have been following.
I started Mounjaro second week of October - I just took my 3rd 5mg dose. I've so far lost a stone and a bit but this past week I have eaten badly for the first time. I just ate half a Ben's cookie. And a couple of days ago I have some tortilla chips and dip. I don't know why, I'm not even hungry. And now I feel guilty and a bit sick.

ThatCoralShark · 23/11/2024 06:52

Iโ€™m no longer officially obese, and have just made it into the overweight bmi category. I know itโ€™s a relatively arbitrary number, as in I wasnโ€™t more unhealthy two pounds ago, but it has to be directionally positive health news. Iโ€™m really pleased about it.

it was one of my mini goals. Like lose the first stone, or get out of the obese category.

Iโ€™ve lost just under 18lbs, so next mini goal to hit is to have lost 2 stone/28lbs. Or to be able to get my rings off. Whichever comes first. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Itโ€™s a journey, but hitting the little milestones along the way help, and I realise with every lb I lose, the healthier I get.

Flumpaphone · 23/11/2024 08:45

Morning everyone, I've just done my 5th injection and gone up to 5mg. I tried doing the bonus with a syringe but only got 2mg out so I abandoned it and cracked my 5mg.

I'm delighted as I'm almost at a stone and for the first time in years there's a 10 on the scales.

SW 11'11
CW 10'12
GW 9'/9.5 depends how I think I look

I'm thrilled with the loss as it isn't rapid and I think I'll have more chance of keeping it off.

Need to up my excel code, but life is getting in the way at the moment

Flumpaphone · 23/11/2024 08:47

*exercise, need to up my exercise!! Bloody autocorrect

MissSmith80 · 23/11/2024 08:52

Morning.

I did 3.75 of a 5 pen but I think it will have to be 5mg on Tuesday. I went out for a meal last night, ate a burger and fries - so far, I'd have had half the burger and a few fries before feeling full, but last night I finished the lot.

It's not an issue, yes I went over my calories for the day but it's the first time in 5 weeks and won't undo everything but it was unexpected - I just kept eating ๐Ÿ™ Pre MJ, I'd probably have had 3 courses so it's still a massive change.

Have a good weekend and stay safe from storm Bert.

NearlyNewHip · 23/11/2024 09:02

Weigh day for me and have lost 1.5lbs this week. Week 6 and 12.5 in total (5 doses from 2.5mg pen and second 5mg dose last night). Hoping for my first stone off next week. Feel very chuffed that I have gone 6 weeks without snacking or feeling deprived x Eating smaller, sensible 3 meals a day, sticking to my 1400 cals a day and it doesn't feel like omg hard work

EVK · 23/11/2024 09:08

@Flumpaphone - that excel code ๐Ÿ˜‚ well done on your losses. Well done everyone ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Jab 8 this morning.
Iโ€™m thrilled today too as at the end of week 7 (still on 2.5mgs) and Iโ€™m now into the 9โ€™s!!! 9.13 3/4!! So only just but itโ€™s amazing.
SW:11.4
CW: 9.13 3/5
GW: 9 or just under to give me something to play with (ie. Aim for not going above 9 so be slightly under!!)
I didnโ€™t dare have a goal like this before but now it really seems possible. Anyone worrying about moving to higher to dose if youโ€™re ok on 2.5mgs it does still work - itโ€™s slow, for me itโ€™s about 1 lb a week but thatโ€™s consistent which is a miracle!
I had 4x squares of Bourneville (spelling ?!) chocolate last night and I really enjoyed them so I think sometimes itโ€™s good to have a little of what you love rather than complete abstaining. Iโ€™d rather build that kind of controlled โ€˜treatingโ€™ than start to binge when I go it alone - which is my big downfall. I can be โ€˜goodโ€™ all week and then 3 glasses of wine and eat a whole packet of Pringles followed by a whole bar of bourneville and still keep going! Then feel disgusted with myself and do it again the next night . Over a weekend I could have consumed all the calories Iโ€™d cut back on in the previous week ! Thatโ€™s why my weight crept up and I couldnโ€™t lose it! Self sabotage- Iโ€™m so glad to be free of that awful cycle. So, although I worry about being on MJ and canโ€™t wait to come off it - Iโ€™m also so glad Iโ€™m on this journey and for the incredible difference itโ€™s made to me. Hope my body can handle it a bit longer !! Hope I can keep it going once I reach my goal. Happy weekend everyone ๐Ÿฉท

financialcareerstuff · 23/11/2024 10:14

Great to hear about all this progress! I'm happy for everybody!

And for me! I'm down 10lbs.... and crossed under 200lbs for the first time in ages. I did a little dance.

I have actually been eating a little bit of sweet stuff each day, but never binging. It is the first time in my life I have managed to eg have one or two squares of chocolate, enjoy it, and stop. That feels amazing, and I am not feeling deprived, but still losing.

I'm so relieved that the idea of maintenance rises is becoming more normal.... I would love, love the idea of just a little help maintaining once I am down. While I agree about healthy habits etc, the experience of seeing just how radically all my compulsiveness has changed with this small chemical adjustment, has shifted my perception of what the problem was.

I've gone from thinking it was me being weak/ having emotional problems, to thinking that there is a slight imbalance physically. While that doesn't mean I don't have responsibility to manage it, it does mean managing it becomes more practical and with less self hatred...

EVK · 23/11/2024 10:40

@financialcareerstuff - yes, thatโ€™s a interesting perspective- if only we could somehow re-boot our systems so that we donโ€™t have that โ€˜missing thingโ€™ Iโ€™d love to find out more about possible alternative ways to do that. Once Iโ€™m where I want to be, I think thatโ€™s where Iโ€™ll put my energy. Iโ€™m still convinced that our gut microbiomes/microbes have a huge role to play - with the right balance of โ€˜goodโ€™ microbes, they actually affect how our brain works in a positive way regarding appetite etc. so thatโ€™s where Iโ€™ll be looking.

Fizzleaway1 · 20/11/2024 19:25

Sounds like some people had some rather relaxing days today! I worked from home and took it very easy so I canโ€™t complain.

I have a cream tea at the Ivy tomorrow with my mother (left over Xmas voucher from last year that needed using up) we are both on MJ now.
I need to work out how many calories would be in a fruit scone with cream and jam! I canโ€™t find the calories on their website so I need to look elsewhere.

Im also having a slight panic about next week. I have 2 Christmas meals for events Iโ€™m running and I have 2 overnight hotel stays where my company will pay for my evening meal and breakfast is included in the room so thatโ€™s a lot of food I get to eat out and thatโ€™s a huge trigger for binging for me.

This sounds stupid but also when someone is free or included in a stay Iโ€™m always think โ€˜well I better make the most of thisโ€™ so will have a huge breakfast.

Iโ€™m the same! I canโ€™t go out for food and just leave it because Iโ€™ve paid for it. Iโ€™ve decided to look at it as the more I eat, the more pens I need and then that will cost more in the long run. Weโ€™re going for a carvery lunch tomorrow and usually if gill my plate, but Iโ€™m having to remind myself not to. Iโ€™m only on 2.5mg and so I can still eat as I did before, I just donโ€™t feel the hunger around meals.

rockingbird · 23/11/2024 11:04

Good morning all, happy weekend! Jan day today for me.. and weigh day. I've not done either yet. Think I'm going to attempt the hard twist ๐Ÿ™ˆ I have my next pen if it's goes wrong. I have two awful bruises on my tummy - anyone know how to avoid this??

AllstarFacilier · 23/11/2024 11:13

Iโ€™ve seen a post somewhere with all the prices on to compare different providers, does anyone have a link to it as I now canโ€™t find it?

surreygirl1987 · 23/11/2024 11:23

I'm in my second month of 2.5mg and the hunger has returned!! Really regretting not moving onto 5mg. Does anyone know if I can double up a 2.5mg dose - is this exactly the same as one 5mg dose, or is there some sort of risk to this? I don't want to mess around with medication like this, but if it's exactly the same as one 5mg dose, I'd be up for that! Thanks!

ArtfullyCrumpled · 23/11/2024 11:29

Yes @surreygirl1987 I think it's fine to do that as long as it's still in date.

Wow @TwinklesToes you're doing seriously well. I think the fasting day must be a game changer. I'm tempted to do a fast day too for the multiple health benefits. Do you get dizziness with it?

Hi, no, I donโ€™t get dizzy or feel faint. Iโ€™m diabetic so checked with my diabetic nurse to make sure itโ€™s safe. I keep to around 550 to 600 calories on a fast day. My daughter (whoโ€™s not on MJ) does 2-3 fast days a week. We both use recipes out of the Michael Mosley 5:2 book.

YummyCookie · 23/11/2024 12:20

Weigh day yesterday for me and down another 2.9lb. Total loss now in 7 weeks is 22lb. Hoping I can make it to 2st by Xmas. Jab day today and itโ€™s my 4th 5mg. I feel hungry now though so I can tell itโ€™s due! Chocolate is always my problem. I could eat it all day. I had to go cold turkey with it as I canโ€™t just have a little bit. Itโ€™s definitely easier on the MJ, but I just darenโ€™t have any in case I canโ€™t stop again!
