Day 3 5mg and probably hungriest I have been since starting. Has anyone seen any research about people who do not respond at ALL??

Yes, about 15 percent of people it didnโ€™t work with in clinical trials. I am not sure I could find th4 link again, but you can try googling on people where mj doesnโ€™t work. I think 85 percent it did work. And 15 had no effect.

@SmartyPops Here are my losses in lbs. I donโ€™t know kg.

2.5mg
-6.5
-4.7
-3
-1.4

5mg
-3.6

Did second 5mg on Monday. Checked this morning and Iโ€™m 2lbs down.

Everyone is different of course but thatโ€™s me.

Thanks so much @HansHolbein - Iโ€™m pondering whether to go up to 5mg and wrestling different questions in my mind. Thatโ€™s really helpful.

WafflingDreamer · 21/11/2024 14:09

I'm pretty sure that's not how Mounjaro works, otherwise you'd be losing like 30lb a week on 15mg. The amount of weight you lose is mainly to do with how many calories per day you are below you TDEE. The higher the dose the more appetite suppression and the less food noise. There are some nice graphs to see how the dose builds up in your system with different strengths https://glp1plotter.com/

Thanks so much @WafflingDreamer - that makes sense! Iโ€™ll check out the article. Really helpful.

HansHolbein · 21/11/2024 15:16

@SmartyPops Youโ€™re welcome. Itโ€™s hard to know what to do, isnโ€™t it? I spent ages going back and forth with it but I did notice that on day 6 I was getting hungrier again.

5mg is treating me well, so Iโ€™m really not sure whether to order 7.5 next week. Donโ€™t want to reorder 5 then be starving! Itโ€™s so hard to predict.

I will say that I have had a positive time on both doses with no side effects. Apart from a few hours of nausea last week. Iโ€™ve been lucky. 7.5 could kick my arse of course lol

ArtfullyCrumpled · 21/11/2024 15:29

Lost a stone!
I'm so pleased this is the best thing I've done in years.

Start 18/09/24
Upped to 5mg 13/11/24
Lost 1 Stone
4 more stone to lose!

Thanks @HansHolbein - itโ€™s really difficult to decide. Week before last on 2.5mg I felt suppression had reduced and was fairly sure Iโ€™d go up to 5mg. However, Iโ€™ve had good suppression this week and no food noise so in a dilemma.
itโ€™s good to know youโ€™ve had a positive time on both doses, thatโ€™s reassuring, thank you.

Bellablahhole · 21/11/2024 16:50

@ArtfullyCrumpled Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. The first stone is always a special milestone.

rockingbird · 21/11/2024 17:07

I can share this with you lot ๐Ÿคช
Today I went for a P and my jeans came down without being unbuttoned!! These particular jeans were hugging me to say the least.. now they are definitely too big lol

Iwouldratherbesinging · 21/11/2024 17:40

Really random question and apologies in advance!
Has anyone noticed that their ๐Ÿ’ฉno longer smells like before, I can hardly notice any smell (definitely donโ€™t have covid/flu), Iโ€™ve googled it and canโ€™t find any other reports ๐Ÿ˜‚
my husband would refuse to go into the loo after Iโ€™d used it, now he canโ€™t even tell. Is that a nsv??

TwinklesToes · 21/11/2024 17:55

What does NFV mean?

ApolloandDaphne · 21/11/2024 18:13

I've felt really off on 5 mg so although I said I would never tamper with the doses I might go back to 2.5 on Sunday. They gave me 6 needles this time so they must be aware people alter their doses. I have been nauseous but weirdly hungry and very tired all week. I can't handle it at all. I might stay with 2.5 until after Christmas as I was plodding along fine on that dose.

I was like this on my first jab of 5, and the second one I felt brilliant. I also considered going down, but as I felt fine the night before, I just jabbed as normal the next day and am feeling great.

Well I've had the best birthday present this morning...I am finally a stone off!

Happy Birthday ๐Ÿฅณ and congratulations!

That's good to know @ThatCoralShark

What does NFV mean?

It's NSV - non scale victory. Something to celebrate other than weight loss.

recklessgran · 21/11/2024 19:35

Happy birthday @ItsMintUpNorth and well done on your milestone loss!
@ApolloandDaphne I really sympathise, I'm another who's staying on 2.5mgs and even that's a bit of a struggle in terms of side effects. In my case it's overwhelming tiredness for the first two days after the jab which render me virtually non functioning. I think we all just need to do what we need to do to get through. Although I'm a very slow loser compared to most [old with underactive thyroid and on levo] I really don't want to stop!

memememe · 21/11/2024 20:11

I've stayed on 2.5 as when I upped it I felt awful, but I've injected every 5 days the last 2 jabs. I also didn't loose much weight the last 2 weeks. A total of 2lb over those weeks (week 4 and 5) but I've got on the scales this morning and am 4lb lighter than I was yesterday! So keep going it will work out in the end.

Total loss so far 1st 3lb in 5 weeks

EVK · 21/11/2024 20:34

@IlovetoKnitandRead I can totally empathise with how youโ€™re feeling and think youโ€™re doing a really positive thing - I know some people are hoping to continue with MJ indefinitely but for me every week Iโ€™m thinking should I stop now and go it alone. For me itโ€™s simply the knowledge that Iโ€™m using something which will have an impact on my body and I want to limit the amount of time that continues for. I feel eventually I need to be able to handle my diet in a positive and healthy without medication. Iโ€™m on week 6 have stuck to 2.5mgs, Iโ€™m no longer experiencing side effects or very mild (maybe tired and minor nausea for a short time) I still feel there is some suppression but Iโ€™m now able to enjoy my food more which is nice. A couple of times this week Iโ€™ve found myself looking in the my teenage sons and DHโ€™s treat/snack cupboard but have managed to stay positive and not get stuck in! Iโ€™m not sure if Iโ€™m going to order my third pen or not. Maybe, to see me through Christmas and come January end my MJ part of weight loss and like you go onto fast 800 or Iโ€™ve been looking at something by a Dr. Tim Spector - gut microbiome specialist. https://zoe.com/learn/tim-spector Worth a look if youโ€™re after an alternative- totally natural approach.

MJ has been amazing for me and really helped get me out of an awful negative spiral and rut (Iโ€™ve lost 1 stone and 3lbs nearly 6weeks - hopefully another 1lb this week) For me itโ€™s definitely not a long term solution. Iโ€™m way too paranoid about the consequences! Hopefully our friend who was having liver problems is ok and Iโ€™m thinking of her all the time.

Good luck in your onward journey and Iโ€™m sure if you can still gain from this group weโ€™d all be happy to support and celebrate your success ๐Ÿฉท

Quick update from me as seen a few posts about moving up to 5mg. I took my first 5mg on Tuesday and aside the eggy burps Envy for a day, I've felt good on it, have had good suppression and been able to eat smaller meals than usual as getting full quicker which I found was wearing off towards the end of 2.5mg.

NSV - my sausage fingers are slimming down was my wedding and engagement rings that were wedged on, actually came off with ease today ๐Ÿ˜€

IlovetoKnitandRead · 21/11/2024 22:08

@EVK Thank you.
I have survived on less than 800 calories for most of these 6 weeks so I figured the Fast 800 would slip into place more easily. I already have the books and am looking forward to the recipes. was really hopeful the first few weeks of MJ but the bloating and constipation and nausea have started to effect my daily living and I hate eating as I feel so full so quickly. I can only imagine in getting worse as I carry on and me ending up with a bowel obstruction or something.

recklessgran · 22/11/2024 06:19

Morning all. It's weigh and jab day for me.
I'm pleased to report a 2.5lb loss this week making my total loss 7.5lbs since I started.
SW 15st 7lbs
CW 14st 13.5lbs
I realise that's not much at all compared to most of you but I'm at the end of week 5 with a 2 week gap due to skipping doses and going on holiday so I'm more than happy with that. I'm staying on 2.5mgs for now as I don't think I can manage any more side effects so whilst I'm still losing I'm going to stick with it.
The big win for me is the lack of food noise, consequently, I'm no longer constantly snacking which has always derailed my past efforts.
This week I need to try to sort out my lack of exercise which certainly doesn't come naturally to me!
Have a good day all.

EVK · 22/11/2024 06:44

Well done @recklessgran - the lack of snacking is my biggest win with MJ and has always been my downfall too. @Missreginafalange I too now have rings that arenโ€™t alarmingly tight - fat fingers are slimming down๐Ÿ˜‚ Happy Friday everyone- freezing ๐Ÿฅถ here !!

ItsMintUpNorth · 22/11/2024 07:01

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes Smile
