Just to warn anyone who has been constipated, donโ€™t go too mad with remedies, I have had terrible diarrhoea this evening, I went up to 5mg on Friday so wondering if that is why.

It could be the increase to 5mg, the same thing happened to me (and kept happening!) and Iโ€™d had no issues on 2.5mg. I came down to 3.75mg for my next dose and have been fine,

This is an interesting article from Daily Mail as to how Mounjaro works on your brain.

How weight-loss jabs have silenced my battle with 'food noise'

How do you like to unwind at night, before switching off the bedroom lamp and going to sleep? A couple of chapters of a thrilling novel perhaps?ย Maybe a spot of meditation?ย

Havenโ€™t been on for a while but Iโ€™m halfway through W5, I used the bonus dose drawing it out with an insulin needle from the chemist. Definitely ready to move up to 5mg now as the food noise has creeped back in but still managing to make ok choices rather than giving in to cravings completely. Hoping to hit my stone loss end of this week ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

Lovely relaxing morning at the gym - outside pool swim (heated pool)! Steam room session followed by a dip in the jacuzzi. Absolutely bliss. A NSV for me.. my swim suit is hanging off me ๐Ÿ˜† it used to be so tight!!! I'm actually going to have to bin ๐Ÿ’ช
It's the small things eh.. happy wonderful Wednesday you lovely lot. xx

I went up to 5mg on Sunday and am still very much bunged up.

Evenstar · 20/11/2024 16:04

@ApolloandDaphne seem to be OK today, though really not hungry, but happy with that

I can very much recommend glycerin suppositories for very quick relief!

FuckOffGerms · 20/11/2024 17:21

Iโ€™m week 7, day 1 - just jabbed the third of 5mg. Iโ€™m 1 stone and 3lbs down in total.

My new jeans in a size down arrived; they fit but I probably need to lose another half a stone for them to be comfortable/look half decent. Debating whether to keep hold of them or to return and re-buy when Iโ€™m actually there.

MedExpress keep emailing me to buy my next pen. Have most people gone up to 7.5mg? Or has anyone stuck at 5mg?

ThatCoralShark · 20/11/2024 17:27

Youโ€™ll be there in the next 3 weeks. Just keep.

financialcareerstuff · 20/11/2024 17:30

I took my fourth dose of 2.5 on Sunday and need to decide whether to take the 'extra dose'. I'm not very clear on the method for how to do that? Could anyone describe step by step compared to doing a normal dose? Thank you!

financialcareerstuff · 20/11/2024 17:39

Other than that, I guess I'm feeling a bit down today. The first week or two felt so amazing- I really felt happy and free, and lost decent weight (though that's not what I'm most focussed on). The last ten days has been more 'meh' and I've found I've gone back to sugary things. I eat much less- one chocolate at a time, when I used to eat half a box in a go.... and my weight is still creeping down (I'm about 7lbs down total.... but I guess I would like to feel I'm genuinely eating and enjoying eating more healthily, as well as just eating less, and I don't seem to be there yet. In the first two weeks I couldn't imagine why I'd need anything more than 2.5.... but I've now ordered the 5 pen.

I'm back to feeling that something inside me is a bit broken, which is a sad feeling. It was lovely not feeling that for a couple of weeks.

I took my fourth dose of 2.5 on Sunday and need to decide whether to take the 'extra dose'. I'm not very clear on the method for how to do that? Could anyone describe step by step compared to doing a normal dose? Thank you!

Easiest way is to just do the 'hard twist', basically go to use your pen like normal but it won't want to twist this time, if you give it enough force it will do and will wind out to '60 clicks', then just inject as normal for an extra 2.5mg dose.

You can buy insulin needles to get a bit more than 2.5mg out but the hard twist is the easiest way.

Similar day to me but I did weights, stretches, sauna then a chill out on a sun bed by the indoor pool at my gym. My bum must have got smaller as my costume is definitely sagging across my backside. Too mean to buy a new costume until I lose another stone or so and get to my goal weight.
Definitely feel better and more energy for doing exercise, though yesterday just couldnโ€™t motivate myself and consequently felt sluggish all day.

I bought some Arla chocolate protein pots today - OMG they are amazing, but I hear great things about the Aldi version. Has anyone done a taste test and wish to share their thoughts?

The Arla ones were ยฃ1.75 I think but it's not very easy to get to an Aldi so would have to balance cost of the yoghurts with time/travel costs.

Thank you

Fizzleaway1 · 20/11/2024 19:25

Sounds like some people had some rather relaxing days today! I worked from home and took it very easy so I canโ€™t complain.

I have a cream tea at the Ivy tomorrow with my mother (left over Xmas voucher from last year that needed using up) we are both on MJ now.
I need to work out how many calories would be in a fruit scone with cream and jam! I canโ€™t find the calories on their website so I need to look elsewhere.

Im also having a slight panic about next week. I have 2 Christmas meals for events Iโ€™m running and I have 2 overnight hotel stays where my company will pay for my evening meal and breakfast is included in the room so thatโ€™s a lot of food I get to eat out and thatโ€™s a huge trigger for binging for me.

This sounds stupid but also when someone is free or included in a stay Iโ€™m always think โ€˜well I better make the most of thisโ€™ so will have a huge breakfast.

Tohaveandtohold · 20/11/2024 19:50

@Fizzleaway1 , I understand how having it free can make it so tempting as Iโ€™ll do the same as well. I think what Iโ€™ll do differently now is Iโ€™ll look at the menu in advance and order some rather posh but healthy meals. Like you donโ€™t want the meals to be boring but then you donโ€™t want to feel like youโ€™re undoing everything youโ€™ve done.
@FuckOffGerms Iโ€™ll keep the Jeans. Theyโ€™ll fit you before you know it. Iโ€™ve been getting emails to reorder from med express as well and Iโ€™ll be doing it on Friday but Iโ€™ll be buying 5mg again. Itโ€™s currently working and I donโ€™t want to go up if I donโ€™t need to. It took a long time for me to brave the 5mg and besides constipation, I have no other side effects so Iโ€™ll stay on it for another pen.
@rockingbird , well done on the swimming costume NSV. The interesting thing was that I started MJ because I hated the way I looked in my swimming costume when we went on holiday and I wanted to change this for next year. Iโ€™ve lost more than a stone but I still have a lot of weight in my belly even though Iโ€™m shrinking everywhere else so the swimming costume still does not look good on but Iโ€™m trusting the process.
Iโ€™m glad I moved to to 5mg on Saturday because Iโ€™ve had good suppression and only constipation as side effects which is the same as what Iโ€™ve had on 2.5. I know someone else was worried about side effects on 5mg but just here to say you might not have any either
.

littleburn · 20/11/2024 20:19

@FuckOffGerms @Tohaveandtohold I'm ordering a second 5mg pen this week too. I'm struggling to eat the same size (healthy!) meals on 5mg that I was eating on 2.5mg. I'm having to split them into smaller meals, else they sit like a stone in my stomach and give me bloating/gas. So having half my breakfast protein smoothie at breakfast and then the other half for lunch etc. I don't want my calorie intake to drop further!

Fizzleaway1 · 20/11/2024 20:49

@Tohaveandtohold exactly, I need to think more long term and have something nice but I need to only go up once. Maybe i will have poached egg on toast instead of a full fry up, plus pastries ๐Ÿ˜‚ to be honest โ€ฆ itโ€™s just greed! Pure greed and I would never do it around a friends house but when my work are paying for itโ€ฆ in all in๐Ÿ˜‚

Hey all, week 3 on 5mg, 20lb down from starting this journey, age 55 post menopause and tried every diet there is for the last 20 years. I wanted to ask everyone a question? Being really honest here, has anyone thought about life after MJ, we obviously can't be on it for the rest of our lives, so how does everyone feel when it comes the time to stop, as honestly I don't know what that future looks like. (sorry for the down post but really interested in everyone's thoughts)

I have thought about it and my thoughts are that Iโ€™m really hoping to create better habits from the start to finish. I havenโ€™t always been big so I know I can stay slim and Iโ€™m hoping once I am slim again I will find it easier to maintain.

This sounds ridiculous but since Iv started taking these my brain feels like itโ€™s reset to how it used to be for years. I feel like the old me that could say no to things and Iโ€™m hoping it continues after I stop taking thisโ€ฆ

and โ€ฆ (and Iโ€™m not advocating anyone to do this!)

I plan to create a little stock pile and micro dose with them as-long as the expiry dates are long.

After I run out of those โ€ฆ will power.

Why canโ€™t we be on it for the rest of our lives? I intend to be and it is approved for this, when I get to goal I will move to a low maintenance dose.

Which companies allow you to keep taking it when your BMI is low ?

Oushk is the only one I know with a maintenance plan and if you go to them with a BMI under 24.9 they wonโ€™t automatically give it to you, they do it on a case by case basis.

Q: What is the lowest BMI Oushk will consider when offering maintenance plans?A: Ideally you should commit to one prescriber when you start or reach a healthy BMI, however we do understand that some patients may already have reached a BMI below 25 and would like to find a maintenance plan which will allow them to continue their journey. Anyone with a BMI of 20-24.9 will be considered on a case to case bases and will need to provide their weight loss history during the consultation process. The final decision will be made by the prescriber.

Yes oushk, there are others I understand, medexpress saying below 23.5 bmi or two years is the stop , but when I questioned this they said med express happy to keep supplying longer than two years, but they canโ€™t guarantee the prescribers will prescribe.

Iโ€™ve no concerns, maintenance is a big thing, they are all considering it now due to demand, by the time Iโ€™m there there will be no issues. There isnโ€™t now, Iโ€™ve two years to play with, and by that time plenty of others will be in the market. There are 8 in final stages now.

plus the two years is for wegovy not mounjaro. I intend to keep my bmi about 24, as below this will be unhealthy.

I'm wondering if we can titrate back down the dosing again?
