I joined a fb group where people are colouring in Bobbie Goods colouring books and the way the colour in is so clever, I may have a go myself

I will look up those books! This was on tik tok and some of the colouring techniques were so clever. Iv looked at buying the books a couple of times now but I donโ€™t know how much i would actually do it.

My daughter should already have a load of the pens so could use her pens though

IlovetoKnitandRead · 16/11/2024 16:38

I am back from my London trip and the Stranger Things theatre play was amazing. I injected my 2nd 5mg a day early and last week nothing much had happened re. Supression/ food noises.
This week it has kicked in with bells on๐Ÿ˜ I had a small piece of toast before I left, lunch was a small pesto and mozarella salad and by the evening when we were eating out I only managed half a smashed burger and 4 fries. I did have a small ice cream in the theatre. We had a Premier breakfast (continental for me as I couldn't face a cooked) I managed a small bowl of friut and yogurt and hlaf a weetabix. I made toast with peanut butter but had 2 nibbles. On the train back I gave half and a bit of my sandwich to my son๐Ÿ˜ฎ.
I am slightly hungry now but not interested in food at all so will have a sausage in a bap with Dh and see how that goes.
Someone mentioned car sickness and I have certainly noticed this especially in lower down cars.

I'm going to take my second 5mg tonight and I really hope I'm the same! Been really hungry this week and I just want the appetite suppression I experienced at the start of 2.5 to return!

Yeah the group Iโ€™m in are doing little see through ghosts and pictures that look like glitter etc. Cute.

Speaking of social media, have you noticed people on IG changing their usernames? I follow a few people on there who are using MJ, but I donโ€™t know why theyโ€™re changing names.

FuckOffGerms · 16/11/2024 18:03

I bit the bullet and ordered new jeans in a size down today.

I also had my first โ€œyouโ€™re looking really wellโ€ comment from someone Iโ€™d not seen in a while - Iโ€™m putting that down to losing weight, rather than looking haggard last time I saw her!

Fizzleaway1 · 16/11/2024 18:14

@AllstarFacilier I actually did notice someone change their username the other day, I canโ€™t even remember who but it was different and Iโ€™m not sure why. I follow people on tik tok for MJ rather then IG but most of them seem to be in America. I like people who have been on it a while so you can see how much they have lost. ๐Ÿ˜‚

@IlovetoKnitandRead it was me who mentioned the travel sickness, glad itโ€™s not just me. Hope you enjoyed stranger things. I took my daughter to Stranger things the experience a couple of years ago in London and really enjoyed it.

@FuckOffGerms let us know how you get on with the jeans! I honestly think โ€˜your looking wellโ€™ is code for you look like you have lost weight! Woo.

Fizzleaway1 · 16/11/2024 18:28

Went to an outlet and did some Xmas shopping today. My husband and kids had a five guys and managed to say noโ€ฆ I just had a bite of my husbands burger and a few of the chips.

Just had a lovely bath and going to watch Game of thrones when the kids go up to their rooms as Iv never watched it and needed something new to watch.

Friends went on holiday recently to the US and brought me back some caramel m&ms which you canโ€™t get here, I love them so Iv portioned them out at 130 calorie portions and i will have some of them while watching GOT.

UtterlyQuackers · 16/11/2024 18:29

I am really hungry tonight!! Not gone over calories yet!

Due my 4th dose on Wednesday. If this carries on I might have to bring it forward.

Popped into town today and the Christmas market was on and I didn't buy a single thing to eat!

HansHolbein · 16/11/2024 18:35

@recklessgran Hope you had an amazing holiday and I am so happy for you that you are happy with your weight! In my holiday last year I put on 19lbsโ€ฆ I shit you not. It was 2 weeks though. God that was bad!

@Loujab Yes, I have a protein shake every day and it gives me 40g of protein. I use MyProtein.

@UtterlyQuackers Have a long bath, brush your teeth and go to bed!! If you really are hungry can you have some boring boiled eggs?

So lovely to read all your updates. Well done to all of you; itโ€™s so encouraging to read.

Last day on my first 5mg tomorrow. Apart from a few hours of nausea early on in the week, itโ€™s been totally fine. I donโ€™t ever get hungry so need to make myself eat two meals a day.

Going to have a couple of glasses of Prosecco with my MiL tonight.. hopefully I wonโ€™t regret it.

Happy Saturday night all!

UtterlyQuackers · 16/11/2024 18:40

@HansHolbein funnily enough I have just ran a bath!

I had some prosecco last weekend and was totally fine. Glad that you are getting on well with 5mg. Hope I get more suppression again when I go up!

Fizzleaway1 · 16/11/2024 18:46

@HansHolbein enjoy the Prosecco.

This is what my life has becomeโ€ฆ portioning m&ms into 130 calorie bags ๐Ÿ˜‚

@UtterlyQuackers Have a wonderful bath! I love having a bath. Have one every night!

@Fizzleaway1 God I love M&Mโ€™s.. shove some in your gob for me! Xxx

recklessgran · 16/11/2024 19:09

@HansHolbein I actually can't believe the fact that I didn't gain an ounce. I was being careful about carbs and mainly stuck to meat/fish/salad meals but I still had a couple of nice gateau type desserts with ice cream and drank all day and evening all be it not heavily - just a couple of pernods during the day, a glass or 2 of wine with dinner and a cocktail afterwards but I don't normally drink much at all so that was really excessive for me. Oh well, I'll take it - I have checked the scales twice but nope, definitely no gain. The reason I'm so shocked is because I last had MJ five days before we left and that was only a half dose of 2.5mgs. I had none at all whilst away so I'm guessing not much left in my system by the end. I don't feel I can take personal credit for any of this though as I definitely wasn't restricting myself!

Haven't eaten much today and do feel knackered actually so hoping that will be the worst of the side effects now. I think I'm going to have a boiled egg and marmite soldiers so that will have to do as I'm not at all hungry. I certainly don't feel pole-axed like I did before anyway so that's something. I'm thinking that I'll be staying on 2.5mgs for a while as I seem to be a bit of a Mounjaro lightweight. [Ha! Ha! I wish!]
@Fizzleaway1 I want to say that you have done amazingly well - your loss is stunning. You must feel brilliant and so proud of yourself.
I'm expecting to be a slow loser due to my age and underactive thyroid but I really don't mind as any loss is astonishing given that I have failed all year to lose more than a pound or two despite my best efforts.

YummyCookie · 16/11/2024 20:15

Well done @recklessgran! What an achievement.

Everyone is doing great. So many good losses!

Iโ€™ve been debating whether to order another 5mg for my 3rd pen, or go up to 7.5mg. Iโ€™m going ok on the 5mg and still losing but worry it might change halfway through the pen and I will be stuck with it. Iโ€™ve just done my 3rd dose of 5mg so Iโ€™m going to give it a couple of days and then decide.

Mysticmaiden2024 · 16/11/2024 20:23

I'm in the same boat, due my third 5mg tomorrow but thought I can order 7.5mg and maybe do a few doses of 5mg then go upto 7.5mg possibly later. Suppression is great so far on day 6! Really struggles last few weeks on 2.5mg so glad it's back.

TwinklesToes · 16/11/2024 21:07

Changed my weigh day from next Tuesday to today and Iโ€™ve lost 4lb this week. down from 191 pounds to 174 in 5 weeks, very happy.

Tohaveandtohold · 16/11/2024 21:28

Glad to hear that youโ€™re all doing okay and really impressed @recklessgran that you didnโ€™t gain any weight during a week of AI, you must have felt really good.
Weigh and Jab day for me today. Instead of going up to 5mg last week, I did 3.75 as was worried about side effects. However Iโ€™ve not had any suppression since Tuesday, no side effects but no suppression either. Today, Iโ€™ve only lost 0.2kg. Even though I want a slow and steady loss, I donโ€™t want to be on MJ and be losing 1kg in a month ๐Ÿ˜‚ so Iโ€™ve decided to go up to 5mg tonight and really hope I donโ€™t regret it.
Stats
SW: 87.1kg (192lbs)
Goal: Maybe 60kg (132lbs)
CW: 78.3kg
Total loss in 6 weeks -8.8kg or 19.4lbs
I also had my first sort of NSV today. Dh was like did you notice that you no longer snore ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. He meant it as a compliment so Iโ€™ll take it but itโ€™s interesting how thereโ€™s so much impact that losing some weight can have on us generally which we might not even take notice of before.

Is anyone drinking huel or other protein ready made drinks? I know I am not getting enough protein so seems like a good way to get extra in? Calories are also low and they have added vitamins and minerals.

I have yfood drinks for breakfast every morning. Iโ€™ve done that for maybe half a year, before MJ. Itโ€™s similar to huel in that itโ€™s a complete meal replacement, not diet.it works for me in that itโ€™s really easy to have on the go and has (iirc) 35g protein in a serving. As well as loads of other vitamins and minerals. It feels like Iโ€™m at least getting my first meal right. They taste delicious too. I used to have huel but could never get on with the type of sweetener they used.

ThatCoralShark · 17/11/2024 08:07

On the protein shakes, I have Huel black edition, 35 grams of protein. And 400 calories in a 500ml bottle. I think y food is a little more calorific at 500, and slightly less protein at 34 grams but they are all of a muchness and personal preference,

I donโ€™t sit and drink mine in one go, I prob have half mid morning and then the rest later.

igivein · 17/11/2024 08:12

Weigh in day for me week 6.

SW: 20st 2lb
CW: 18st 2lb

Another 3lb off this week, 2 stone gone in 6 weeks! Iโ€™m cautiously hopeful I might see a 17 on the scales next week.

I need to read up more on how this magical potion works. Itโ€™s not just appetite suppression, because my sorry menopausal self has struggled and failed to lose any weight since hitting menopause. Now, Iโ€™m eating the same as when I previously โ€˜dietedโ€™ and Iโ€™m losing a steady 3lbs a week - so what else has changed? I know it also regulates insulin, but I wasnโ€™t even pre-diabetic before so I donโ€™t think itโ€™s that. Itโ€™s like it has reset my metabolism to pre-meno working, and Iโ€™d love to know how. Can anyone explain or direct me to some reading?

lickycat · 17/11/2024 08:15

Iโ€™m still following you all since my post about being a bit concerned I wasnโ€™t losing anything. Iโ€™d lost 2lb in 3 weeks or something last time I posted.

Yesterday I moved up to a 5 pen. My losses are still slow, but at least they are losses. In 4 weeks Iโ€™ve lost 4lb, and my prescriber (Iโ€™m with Well and I have a monthly meeting with my prescriber to check in) says that on the 2.5 pen, 4-6lb loss is average - doesnโ€™t seem like that from this thread, but perhaps the sharing of advice and motivation is making a difference here?

For the record, my experience on 2.5 was great suppression for the first week or so, and that gradually declined over the 4 weeks. Took the first 5 dose yesterday and had an hour or so of nausea, but fine this morning.

When you find out can you explain to me, please? Exactly the same as you. My metabolism seemed to vanish with peri- menopause and I found it impossible to lose any weight. Iโ€™ve only lost 4lb on MJ but Iโ€™m amazed that the scales have started to turn at all!

NearlyNewHip · 17/11/2024 08:28

Same here. I thought that it has to be more than just suppression.... went down the Google rabbit hole a few weeks ago...I didnt quite understand all of it and I'm not very good with technical things but it's something to do with the liver and regulating insulin so that not as much unneeded sugar/glucose is converted into fat cells. Happy to be corrected if I completely misunderstood!!

EVK · 17/11/2024 08:53

Interesting - Iโ€™m 9 years of menopause which I guess makes me post menopausal (chemo put me into an early one - the gift that keeps giving!) I too have found that I could diet and nothing was moving! But then Iโ€™d just get disheartened and binge! So, I know that I never really kept going for long enough. MJ just makes keeping going and being consistent so much easier. If the insulin link means less excess sugar is stored as fat then thatโ€™s amazing but also Iโ€™m just not eating loads of excess sugar now as I donโ€™t crave it which is a revelation!

Well done @lickycat for your incredible losses. You must feel great. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸปThe best news is you can keep going with MJ without falling off the wagon!

Mysticmaiden2024 · 17/11/2024 09:29

There is recent studies showing mounjaro not only reverses insulin resistance, which it has for me, but also reduces inflammation on the body and brain, there has been positive results for alzheimers. I have had a bloated belly since I was 18, my mum used to say I looked 3 months pregnant. I've always had excess water retention and swollen hands, fingers, body etc and I feel it's helping with that. Also if insulin doesn't work well you end up with excess fat stored so it must act on all those for burning fat. I'm pre covid weight now, it's amazing!
