Morning all.
I'm beyond shocked to be able to update you that despite a week AI and a total of 2 weeks skipping MJ I am exactly the same weight this morning as I was on my departure day. I have absolutely no idea how I have managed it but am beyond thrilled by this. [My usual standard is a 5lb gain after an AI week.]
I am also chuffed that so far I have had no horrible side effects from yesterday's 2.5mgs jab apart from full suppression, a few burps and feeling a bit tired. I know there's still time but I've got everything crossed. I really hope I'm going to be able to settle in to a proper routine now and crack on with actually losing the weight.

I think I've more or less caught up with you all now and just so love all the solidarity and support here - isn't it brilliant to have the camaraderie of so many after years of struggling with the shame alone? Thanks so much everyone - that alone is such a relief and worth it's weight in gold!. Oh and those struggling with constipation I find that 3 or 4 chunks of melon a day sorts it for me where nothing else does - I have no idea why this works!
Have a great day and a good weekend all.

That's brilliant well done! Also really glad you are feeling ok after your 2.5mg, hopefully it was just your body taking a little bit longer to get used to it.

rockingbird · 16/11/2024 07:35

Amazing @recklessgran you must be absolutely thrilled ๐Ÿคฉ

Onwards we go ๐Ÿ’ช

Gilly1C · 16/11/2024 07:57

Morning all, I thought I would give a wee update. I have just taken my 3rd 5mg, 5mg has been kind to me and actually depending on how I get on these last 2 weeks I would be happy to stay on this dose. I have been fortunate from the start not to of had any side effects at all (not sure if it was my obsessive prep with certain supplements). I am 6 weeks in (weighing wise) and have lost 16.6lbs. I am not a dramatic big loser, nor a slow one, for me I am happy being in that middle camp. I have stopped weighing weekly and become more relaxed with doing it every couple weeks. I am waiting patiently for MJ to affect my love of wine don't think it's gonna happen lol.

NearlyNewHip · 16/11/2024 08:07

Weigh in 5 this morning and final tally for the first pen (took bonus dose so 5 x 2.5mg). Lost half a pound this week after a 70s/80s weekend away (lots of booze), so my total for pen number one is 11 lbs off. Really really pleased!!

Jabbed with 5mg last night for the first time. Think I feel OK, have a cough and cold and my period so not sure which aches and pains are which!!!

Fizzleaway1 · 16/11/2024 08:10

@crumbsonmyface ๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™m not a overly emotional person so for me a crap week at work equals someone pissing me off ๐Ÿ˜‚

Fizzleaway1 · 16/11/2024 08:16

@recklessgran well done on a sts, bet that feels good after a weeks holiday. I normally gain 10lbs in 2 weeks on holiday too ๐Ÿ˜…

@NearlyNewHip well done! amazing!

@Gilly1C thatโ€™s a fantastic amount. Iโ€™m glad you are not getting any side effects. I want MJ to stop my love of chocolate and although Iโ€™m eating less I still havenโ€™t gone off it.

recklessgran · 16/11/2024 08:33

Oooh I forgot - I also want to report an NSV.
I usually have some swelling especially of my left foot. I have noticed that my foot now looks normal. No swelling and doesn't hurt any more when I prod the top of it! As I am currently too fat to reach my feet and make a good enough job of it I treated myself to a pedicure on holiday so now my feet look kind of glamorous with their bright red nails and less podge. [Can't say the same for the rest of me but perhaps I'm starting at the feet and working up!]

Flumpaphone · 16/11/2024 08:52

Morning everyone. Just taken my 4th 2.5, No weight loss this week according to the scales but I think there is as my clothes feel loser and I think I'm beginning to see a difference. Hectic week at work so haven't managed much exercise this week. I think I'm going to try for the bonus dose next week and hopefully get 3/3.5 ish out which might be a nice bridge to 5mg. Good noise has crept back a bit this week, not in terms of snacking but certainly portion size creeping up so I'll have to watch that.

Fizzleaway1 · 16/11/2024 09:47

Week 5 weigh in today and Iv lost 4lbs ๐ŸŽ‰

Thats 24lbs in 5 weeks.

Going to an outlet today to do some xmas shopping so keeping busy.

Pegsmum · 16/11/2024 09:47

Well done everyone, some great losses and successes on here. Is anyone who bridged the gap to 5mg with 3.75 sticking with it for a few weeks? My first 5mg was not kind to me at all so Iโ€™ve down one 3.75 which has been okโ€ฆvery tempted to keep on that dose for another couple of weeks.

Could you possible do a 4 and then a 4.5 to get up to 5mg slowly?

and thank you!

I have a 5mg pen but considering staying on 2.5 or at most upping to 3.75. Donโ€™t see point of increasing if food suppression still good.

Delighted at somehow lost 0.6lb today despite just flying back from a weeks AI in Turkey. Didnโ€™t go mad, ate healthy food and had a few G&Ts each night. Being on MJ didnโ€™t make me feel deprived, was lovely not to lust after the crap I would normally eat, then feel sleepy.
Going gym to do weights few times a week and eating 90-100g of protein as my main worry is muscle loss.

Feel like this is a miracle drug but also conscious itโ€™s my last chance saloon at keeping it off, so already researching maintenance.

EVK · 16/11/2024 11:10

So many brilliant posts here over the past few days. Iโ€™ve really enjoyed reading about how everyoneโ€™s getting on. Someone suggested great tv viewing as a treat and Iโ€™ve just subscribed to apple tv - love Shrinking (someone else posted about) and now watching The Morning Show (Jennifer Anniston and Reese Whetherspoon) which is a real treat. Allowed myself 3 pieces of dark chocolate and was totally happy with that. Might do my nails this evening as someone else suggested - self care never self sabotage! Still no wine 7weeks!!!

Today was my weigh in and Iโ€™ve lost another 2lbs so thrilled - Iโ€™m still on 2.5mg and itโ€™s working well for me. Someone else mentioned about worrying over side effects and the very sad death of the nurse - my way of coping is to stay in the lowest dose and do talk to your doctor if youโ€™re really worried - I spoke to my breast care nurse and she put things into perspective for me. Iโ€™m now feeling much better about my decisions again and feel I can carry on.

im not counting calories as I find it so hard when making my own food so I sort it f guess but really have no idea (maybe 12-1500 a sometime less?!) If I have something like a couple of pieces of chocolate I do make myself aware of how many calories Iโ€™m consuming. I used to be de then fast 800 diet and it really worked for me but with MJ Iโ€™m trying to stay at a consistent calorie intake per day in order to avoid low blood sugar and the resulting nausea/shaky/headaches. My breast care nurse suggested that carbohydrate helps sleep so to eat a banana at bedtime if my carb intake is low which it is. Seems to work maybe - but I still wake 2-4 times a night - not nice and empathise with all those who are sleep deprived- itโ€™s shit!

BTW - I eat those hairy ballsacks whole, like an apple ๐Ÿ˜‚

TheChosenTwo · 16/11/2024 11:28

@AllstarFacilier i went out and had a few drinks last night, I had one cocktail and 2 glasses of wine without any ill effects.
wk1 -3lbs
wk2 -3lbs
wk3 -5lbs

So 11lbs down in 3 weeks, just done my 4th and final dose from my 2.5 pen and am debating what to reorder for next week as Iโ€™ve definitely felt the return of food noise this week although have managed to keep it under control. I think Iโ€™ll just go to the 5.

Pennyplant19 · 16/11/2024 11:57

Week 4 weigh in today and I've lost a stone overall!
Haven't felt deprived, eaten under my calorie allowance for the most part, but had the odd handful of crisps, choc etc.
only overindulged once and felt so rough the next day (like I had flu!) haven't done it since.
An off on a cruise tomorrow, and despite having the drinks package I have nil desire to drink at all!

JurassicPark4Eva · 16/11/2024 12:08

End of week 3, 12lbs off. It's astonishing.

I've also managed to bruise myself with the last two jabs - it's just unlucky you've hit a blood vessel! Both have been my thigh.

UtterlyQuackers · 16/11/2024 12:34

My bruise from last week is really purple still. Nothing this week ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I don't think I did anything different.

Clothes are feeling looser which is nice. Almost brought some new work clothes in the next size up before starting MJ. Glad I didn't!

Very grateful for all of you guys! I don't feel alone. I haven't had to ask the pharmacy anything most questions have been answered on here! ๐Ÿฅฐ

@crumbsonmyface I last bought a prayer plant. It's beautiful. Got it from here and they have a special "unkillable" section which might come in handy for you! ๐Ÿ˜https://www.beardsanddaisies.co.uk/collections/unkillable-houseplants

@utterlyquackers I was also going to buy some bigger sized work clothes but then decided not to and I'd either have to lose weight or be fat and naked. My colleagues will be relieved I went for the former!

That's me finished my 1st pen, 4 weeks plus the extra shot. I've lost exactly 14lb, a stone gone in 5 weeks, I couldn't be more amazed!
Took my first 5mg yesterday afternoon and so far, so good. Suppression is back a bit stronger than before, but for me that's a blessing. Otherwise no other side effects and long may it last.
Already noticing that I'm not as breathless as I was going upstairs, long way to go, but it's a start.

Is anyone drinking huel or other protein ready made drinks? I know I am not getting enough protein so seems like a good way to get extra in? Calories are also low and they have added vitamins and minerals.

I'm using PHD 100% plant protein, just because I'm dairy intolerant. I have used huel in the past also but the high flax seed content adversely affected me so I stopped. Their hot food selection was really nice and yummy. I've heard protein before bed helps to sleep better so I'm going to try that tonight cos my sleep has been horrible.

Paint your nails, have a bath, buy something new you want (non edible) instead like a new candle, fluffy socks, have a nice hot chocolate instead of a big bar (options is actually ok and lower in calories), watch a film,

Make voodoo dolls of whoever pissed you off at work and stick pins in it ๐Ÿคฃ

I seen a tik tok of some adult colour books by coco wyo which Iv debated picking up to keep my hands busy on an evening. The way some people colour these in on tik tok is really good and if anyone looked at me you would not think I was the adult colouring book type (because Iโ€™m not) but needs must.

Iv never really been an emotional eater, just greedy so if someone pisses me off at work or Iv had a shit week I just sit there and rant to myself til itโ€™s out of my system๐Ÿคฃ

I joined a fb group where people are colouring in Bobbie Goods colouring books and the way the colour in is so clever, I may have a go myself

I donโ€™t drink protein shakes as I donโ€™t like milkshakes but I do drink the protein yogurt drinks Aldi do plus I buy protein bars/crisp to up my intake as Iโ€™m not eating enough either.
