Oooh @HansHolbein brave!

Jab day again tomorrow for me. I'll step on the scales then. Can't believe I'm heading into week 4!! I already have my new pen ready for the following 4 weeks and I'm sticking with 2.5. If the nausea slows down I'll consider moving up to 5. I tend to react to medications quite intensely so it may be that the 2.5 is as much as I can handle.. we shall see. Water ๐Ÿ’ฆ must drink water!! ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Relaxedandchilled · 15/11/2024 13:05

My suppression is definitely wearing off. Now Iโ€™ve resolved the low blood sugar issue, and feel fine I could defo eat. Doesnโ€™t help Ive a day off and not doing much. So Iโ€™m ready for the next 5mg tomorrow morning.

QuirkyGreenCat · 15/11/2024 15:32

Hi gals,
Iโ€™m on week 5 and have lost a stone so far. Feeling amazing and lucky to have minimal side effects.
I am struggling a bit with 2 things:

1 - Yesterday I took my first 5mg dose and felt so exhausted all day. I have a baby and a toddler so canโ€™t really have this every time. Is this low blood sugar? What has everyone done to resolve this?

2 - general anxiety regarding the safety of the drug following that nurse death in Scotland. I know rationally that something happening is minimal but I canโ€™t stop thinking about it. Any words of wisdom?

crumbsonmyface · 15/11/2024 15:38

Happy Friday everyone!
Had my 6th jab yesterday - can't believe the weeks have just flown by, it feels a bit surreal.

I've got a question for any ex-comfort eaters, what the f do you do when you've had a shit week? I used to bury my head in 6 packs of wotsits, and scoff a family sized dairy milk.

I've had a rough work week, and I'm not craving any "bad" food, but I'm feeling sorry for myself and have no clue how to soothe my weary self this evening. Hit me with some ideas please, you ladies are amazing! Xx ๐Ÿ˜˜

PickleSarnie · 15/11/2024 16:55

@crumbsonmyface I've swapped chocolate with pot plants. I have a feeling it'll be like living in a jungle by the time I'm finished!

rockingbird · 15/11/2024 17:10

I'm snacking on pomegranate seeds ๐Ÿ˜† I haven't touched a chocolate bar since the day I started.

Crazydogmumma · 15/11/2024 17:31

6th Weigh in for me on Thursday and lost another 2lb.
My suppression is good but I wonder if I would have lost more if my second pen was 5mg as I am still on 2.5.
What do you think?
i will order the 5mg for my third pen but still have 2 or 3 more doses of 2.5.

I was thinking about this today when I was driving on the school run. There must be so many people taking this now. And 1 death linked. There is probably more chance of us dying in a car crash, yet we donโ€™t think twice about getting in the car.

ChimneyRock · 15/11/2024 18:02

@YummyCookie But we don't know what underlying medical issues that nurse might have had.
And I read that around 2000 people in the UK die each year from complications associated with taking ibuprofen.

Paint your nails, have a bath, buy something new you want (non edible) instead like a new candle, fluffy socks, have a nice hot chocolate instead of a big bar (options is actually ok and lower in calories), watch a film,

Make voodoo dolls of whoever pissed you off at work and stick pins in it ๐Ÿคฃ

I seen a tik tok of some adult colour books by coco wyo which Iv debated picking up to keep my hands busy on an evening. The way some people colour these in on tik tok is really good and if anyone looked at me you would not think I was the adult colouring book type (because Iโ€™m not) but needs must.

Iv never really been an emotional eater, just greedy so if someone pisses me off at work or Iv had a shit week I just sit there and rant to myself til itโ€™s out of my system๐Ÿคฃ

UtterlyQuackers · 15/11/2024 18:26

HansHolbein · 15/11/2024 12:29

The ballsacks are going in!

I am vaguely disappointed they are cut. I envisaged eating them whole like an apple ๐Ÿคฃ One sack at a time!

I am averaging about 1200 at the moment. Weight loss is slowing down. I am also fairly hungry tonight! I think I'll up to 5mg when I finish this pen. I'm going to do the bonus dose as a bridge.

Glad the sickness is dying down for those suffering.

By this time next year I will be poor but not fat!!

Agreed. Iโ€™m happy with the odds and prepared to take the risks. Didnโ€™t even give it a second thought. Iโ€™m now 19lb down now. That has to put me in a healthier position.

Hi All [especially @HansHolbein and@rockingbird ] don't worry I'm still here and raring to go again. I'm just back from a lovely AI week in Gran Canaria - had a great time and really enjoyed the 28C heat I must say. The house felt freezing when we got home so we've had the heating belting full blast to try to warm it up. I chickened out and skipped MJ altogether for the duration of the holiday as I was worried about side effects and spoiling things for DH. I'm pretty sure I've probably gained but hoping it won't be my usual 5lbs. I was mindful of what I was eating and drinking but will weigh first thing tomorrow and update you all then. I have already injected my next 2.5mgs and will see how that goes. Hoping for minimal side effects this time - we shall see - I've already been shopping and have a fridge full of veg and salad to start me off. I've just set the soup maker going full of organic watercress which will be my dinner for tonight alongside a small chicken salad. I'll catch up on the thread this evening - apologies for now as I have no idea how you're all getting on or what you've all been up to!

Iโ€™m thinking of food tonight, not to the point I canโ€™t stop myself as I havenโ€™t had anything but itโ€™s on my mind a bit more.

Im on 5mg this week and to be honest I havenโ€™t noticed better suppression this week compared to any 2.5mg doses. It feels the same, now 2.5mg worked for me so itโ€™s not an issue but I was expecting sometime a bit โ€˜moreโ€™โ€ฆ. Not sure what but I feel like Iโ€™m riding 60% jab and 40% motivation at the moment and would prefer a more 80/20 split.

Jab day isnโ€™t until Monday too but I may bring it forward to Sunday. I also thought of doing 2.5mg and then another 2.5mg on the 4th day so keep it topped up instead of 1 x 5mg.

anywayโ€ฆ my 5th weigh day tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Iโ€™m the same with 5mg dose, I donโ€™t feel as if Iโ€™m getting the same suppression as I was on 2.5mg. I have my 2nd 5.0mg on Monday. My weigh day is Tuesday although I may change it to a Saturday even though it means Iโ€™m only half way through the week.

Iโ€™m supposed to take my second dose on Monday but I will 100% be moving it to Sunday.

Hopefully when it builds up in our system, it will be more effective.

crumbsonmyface · 15/11/2024 21:35

Thanks everyone - ended up having a nandos and watching a few episodes of shrinking and feeling a little better!

@PickleSarnie love that, youโ€™ll have a plant for every pound youโ€™ve lost by the end! What have you bought recently? I love plants, but kill off far too many

@rockingbird itโ€™s shocking thinking itโ€™s been weeks without any chocolate. Weโ€™re all pomegranate and kiwi people now! Hows the nausea been lately?

@Fizzleaway1 Your stress tactics had me in hysterics- I think Iโ€™ll definitely need a voodoo doll and rage room to deal with the knobs at work! Iโ€™m going to pop into town tomorrow and treat myself to some goodies. Colouring book sounds great, I love the pens they use on tik tok theyโ€™re always so satisfying ๐Ÿ˜‚
Hope the food noise hasnโ€™t been too bad this evening! So strange that the 5mg is exactly the same as 2.5. Hopefully it just needs time to build up

@UtterlyQuackers you joke about eating it like an apple, but I kid you not my dh eats kiwis like that ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ definitely a wrongun

@recklessgran Welcome back! Glad you had a lovely holiday. Keep us posted on how the 2.5 goes this time around :)

Froggie13 · 15/11/2024 22:47

@HansHolbein thanks, I know I should be happy with any weight loss, I guess I'd just got used to a few pounds a week. I have stoped tracking so I'll go back to that and see if it makes a difference Smile

@TwinklesToes I've always injected in my stomach (I read somewhere this was the fastest absorption?). Thinking about it though I injected further away from my belly button on my last dose (always inject around 5cm usually) so that could be something to do with it, I'll go back to the usual spot next week and see how I get in with that! Hadn't even thought about the injection spot!

Fizzleaway1 · 16/11/2024 00:56

Has anyone noticed this as a side effectโ€ฆ.

travel nausea โ€ฆ so Iv hardly felt sick at all but for some reason anytime Iโ€™m a passenger in the car I start to feel sick.
I never had this before but I start feeling off as soon as Iโ€™m a passenger.

Im guessing all the bumpy roads by my is bringing the sickness to the front.

Me too!! This has helped so much when feeling a bit off. I kept waking up in the night feeling shaky and it was low blood sugar. If anyone else is having this, try and eat some protein before bed - it will help stop your blood sugar dipping in the night.

Thank you. I'm always waking up in middle of night for hours since starting mounjaro and feeling tired but on 5mg first week and I am so full, yesterday managed 945 calories only, so not eating enough. My TDEE was around 1900 as I was at work and drive a lot so burn more calories those days. I will try a protein shake before bed as I have lots in cupboard.

recklessgran · 16/11/2024 07:21

Morning all.
I'm beyond shocked to be able to update you that despite a week AI and a total of 2 weeks skipping MJ I am exactly the same weight this morning as I was on my departure day. I have absolutely no idea how I have managed it but am beyond thrilled by this. [My usual standard is a 5lb gain after an AI week.]
I am also chuffed that so far I have had no horrible side effects from yesterday's 2.5mgs jab apart from full suppression, a few burps and feeling a bit tired. I know there's still time but I've got everything crossed. I really hope I'm going to be able to settle in to a proper routine now and crack on with actually losing the weight.
SW 15st 7lbs
CW 15st 2lbs
I think I've more or less caught up with you all now and just so love all the solidarity and support here - isn't it brilliant to have the camaraderie of so many after years of struggling with the shame alone? Thanks so much everyone - that alone is such a relief and worth it's weight in gold!. Oh and those struggling with constipation I find that 3 or 4 chunks of melon a day sorts it for me where nothing else does - I have no idea why this works!
Have a great day and a good weekend all.

rockingbird · 16/11/2024 07:33

Morning all, happy weekend!
So the results are in for the end of week 3

SW 11.13
CW 10.12 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I've hit the one stone mark +1
Onto week 4 and praying the nausea isn't too bad this week.. ๐Ÿ™

I have no goal weight, pre Covid lockdowns I was 9st if I ever get back there I'll need a whole new wardrobe of clothes as I binned the lot when we moved in 2022!! It was so depressing seeing all those lovely clothes that I'd resigned myself I was never going to wear again.
