Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

@Jimmyneutronsforehead @TheShellBeach
Completely agree. The real secret is to not get fat in the first place but the reasons for that are individual and complex. I'm still hoping that I can eventually come off, not least because I'm retiring next year and money will be a big issue. But if I can't then I can't.

Gettingbysomehow · 19/11/2024 12:12

Thats just the great thing about it. We can take it for life if we need to. No need to yoyo diet ever again. Ive stopped getting my hair died and Ive paid for my car so that more than covers it.

Paperwhite13 · 19/11/2024 12:40

Thanks for sharing @Fromthesidelines that's really interesting and may impact on how I do maintenance.

I was originally going to reduce my dose each month until I'd weaned off. However, it might make more sense to stay on 2.5 for a few months.

I think I'll just have to see how I'm coping once I'm there.

For the first time I don't feel like I've deprived myself while losing weight which I think will make a huge difference. Typically, I'd reach my target and then gorge on everything I'd cut out but I just don't feel like that, which I think will make the difference.

18.6lbs to go until goal weight after a great loss of 1.5lbs this morning... despite having wine for the first time in months last night. 😅

Maarva · 19/11/2024 18:38

That is interesting @Fromthesidelines and makes some sense.

I’ve been overweight since I was a young child and do think I may have to stay on this forever.

I think there’s a world of difference between someone like me who is “naturally fat” and struggled their whole life and someone who has taken their eye off the ball and gained weight in later life.

If I do have to take it forever then so be it.

Gettingbysomehow · 19/11/2024 20:47

What a day. Still on 2.5 mgs. I ate a protein bar for breakfast, a small tin of ravioli for lunch and now I am struggling to eat my dinner.....peas, vege meatballs and baked beans. Ive had three teaspoons and just cannot force any more down. I dont feel sick or anything I just cant eat it. This is insane. Ive always been a big eater.

DandyTealSeal · 20/11/2024 08:06

Im debating stopping, I have no energy and really struggling to eat anything. I am forcing myself but it makes me feel sick. I don’t feel any better than when I binge eat. I’m not sure which is the better of the two evils at the moment. I feel so tired.

rhubay · 20/11/2024 08:45

What doses are you on to get this effect?

SilenceInside · 20/11/2024 09:12

@DandyTealSeal you could try going down a dose level rather than stopping? Keep moving down the doses until you can eat without feeling sick and hopefully have more energy.

DandyTealSeal · 20/11/2024 09:13

I’ve been on 2.5mg and then took the first 5mg on Monday.

SilenceInside · 20/11/2024 09:40

@DandyTealSeal was it like this on 2.5mg or just when you started the 5mg? It's a big leap in the amount of Mounjaro in your system when you go from 2.5 to 5 the first time.

Pumpkinforever · 20/11/2024 09:49

Going on holiday in January which is great but in the second week I should be starting a new pen. It is a touring round type holiday so not really practical to take two pens especially as one will be a dose increase pen. I have a Frio container for the pen that will be in use.

So I was going to take a one week break and then restart. Have any of you lovelies been in that position?

Fromthesidelines · 20/11/2024 11:28

@Pumpkinforever
What dose are you on? If you are on a higher dose you may need to take a lower dose and build back up again or risk side effects.
What I did in a similar situation was to, in the run up to my holiday, take the dose on an 8 day schedule for 3 weeks. I then took the fourth dose just before I left and took my pen and an insulin needle to get the bonus dose midway through my holiday. Then started my new pen as soon as I got back.

TheShellBeach · 20/11/2024 12:40

Yay I've lost 4lb this week.

Down to 14st 5lb.

Total loss since January = 5st 11lb.

I have decided to stick with 2.5 until I come back as I don’t want to risk side effects when I am holiday from increasing my dose. I like the idea of taking an insulin needle just to see if I can get a bonus dose. That or trying bonus dose idea in December.

Pumpkinforever · 20/11/2024 14:24

@TheShellBeach wow 🤩 that is a great achievement

QueenOfHiraeth · 20/11/2024 14:37

@DandyTealSeal Remember feeling cold and tired/no energy is likely to be due to lack of calories rather than just a straightforward drug side effect.
Personally, I have found any nausea is rather like morning sickness, it is worse if I overeat or if my tummy is empty, so you could try eating little and often.
It might be worth going back to 2.5 until things settle. Lots of people do a couple of weeks at 3.75mg, by counting clicks, rather than stepping straight to 5mg

I’ve never felt quite right on any dose, granted it’s probably worse now so I’m thinking of reducing next time.

Yes I’m sure it is, I find it so hard to eat when I just don’t fancy anything. I’ve even tried shakes but can’t get through the whole thing. It’s making me miserable so not sure if I would be best stopping.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 20/11/2024 14:56

I have actually forgotten to take my dose for well over 5 days so I'm back on 2.5mg and working my way up again. Better safe than sorry.

Had amazing suppression though, then the past 48 hours I've just been absolutely ravenous and it's only just clicked today that I've got 1 more dose in my pen than I should have.

Probably eaten more brie and blue cheese than I should have this week, and probably going to have to be extra diligent dietary wise until I've built back up to 7.5mg

I felt like this on my first 3 doses of 5mg. I have just taken the 4th and my appetite is coming back, but I still don't fancy snacking, so feeling a lot better with more food (I was struggling to reach 800 cals per day).
I am going to stick with 5 now rather than go up to 7.5, and learn to deal with any hunger I do feel.

QueenOfHiraeth · 20/11/2024 15:25

@DandyTealSeal I know it is hard to eat when you don't want to but you have to plan and find ways to get food in. If not you end up losing weight too fast then plateau-ing and regaining while feeling cold, tired and unwell.
Good luck

I have messaged them twice this week asking them not to send my next own until I have decided which strength I want but they have sent the lower strength out anyway today.

Hit me with other good providers please that don't charge the Earth !

Hello! I posted earlier on the referrals thread about Medino.

We can't post discount codes on this thread.

I'm pissed off with Voy as well. They failed to honour my discounts. Bastards.

Have a look at my link for Medino.

JamieFrasersSassenach · 20/11/2024 16:22

Thanks @TheShellBeach - I have spammed them on all message options with my disgust.

I'll check your link out on the referral thread
