Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

Anyone else struggling a little bit mentally?

Previously I ate and snackrd when not hungry and I need to find something thing else to occupy myself.

What am I going to do with all this new brain space previously filled by food?

I like to knit, not the sexiest hobby I know but hear me out.

I can knit for hours on end usually watching tv but I can't use my hands to eat because they're busy.

Helps to stop the snacking and busys the mind from the food noise.

Day 4 my headache and nausea have gone. Made a silly mistake of drinking fizzy and woke up with extremely painful heartbeat and indigestion. Lesson learned

hello, any advice please ..started 5 days ago .2.5 mountjaro .last night was very ill with unbelievable dizzyness ..scary .. then half hour ,sat on loo ,with bowel watery mess .any idea what was going on .thanks

How are you feeling now? That sounds scary! I would suggest reaching out to your provider if you still feel terrible. I wonder if the dizziness is due to your blood sugar dipping too low? Had you eaten anything really heavy or greasy? As I think that can upset your stomach

Go walking! I’m currently taking loads of walks listening to music. hitting between 13-18k steps a day atm

even 10 mins in the fresh air is enough to reset you mentally for a while!

I think this caused my indigestion on Sunday. Didn't know you weren't suppossed to drink fizzy on it . Really upped my water intake now though and alternating with diluting juice.

Today though I've had to make myself eat just because i know i need to eat something. Just checked and only managed 560 calories. 61g protein including a protein drink.

McZeba · 13/11/2024 07:54

Weigh day tomorrow and no matter what the scales say, my love/crutch of gin is gone. I have no desire to drink any sort of alcohol - I've had plain tonic each evening and felt happy with that. My sleep is less disturbed and my food noise is manageable. Ashamed that I have spent so many evenings after work thinking I need a drink, when in reality I don't.

IHateMozzies · 13/11/2024 08:05

Weigh in day! Lost 6lb!! I can feel more room in my jeans already. So happy!! My first goal is to get under the next stone down so 4lb to go 🤞🏻

2nd injection tonight.

Pumpkinforever · 13/11/2024 08:34

Well done @IHateMozzies It’s a great mental boost for the next week. Every lb/kg counts

Mrsredlipstick · 13/11/2024 09:05

Yes very well done @IHateMozzies .super results.

ShaunaSadeki · 13/11/2024 09:13

Jab 2 today, I was toying with taking it yesterday as I want to move it back a couple of days before a trip. But as was still feeling suppression yesterday I didn’t, wish I had, woke up absolutely starving at 4am and couldn’t get back to sleep!

I didn’t weigh until D2 last week but I gave lost 3lb, usually it would be 2lb but taking up my very waking moment rather than mostly effortlessly. I need to to up my exercise though, not got into a winter routine with that yet.

Goldleafcat · 13/11/2024 09:29

@BrownJenkins I started 29 Oct and after a 6lb weight loss in the first week (hooray!) - I seem to have completely stalled! Feeling quite grumpy about it today tbh - very little suppression (if any). My 4th jab is due next week. I got some syringes with the idea to get a ‘bonus dose’ if possible for week 5 but now I’m thinking I need to start 5mg asap to see if it makes a difference. Maybe I will do my 2.5mg jab as planned and then use the syringe to see if I can get anything else out to ‘top it up’ to perhaps a slightly higher dose as a ‘bridge’ until I start 5mg.

Sigh.

piscofrisco · 13/11/2024 09:37

Well day 3 after my first jab yesterday. Low level headache, low level nausea, dry mouth. Not counting chickens as I don't want to speak too soon on the side effects but so far ok. It's so weird. I don't feel hungry exactly. I think I could eat, but I could take it or leave it which is very unusual for me.
The real test will be this morning when I make dinner for tonight-lasagne- which is traditionally my arch nemesis!

piscofrisco · 13/11/2024 09:38

I'd be so happy @IHateMozzies if this time next week I weigh 6 pounds less! That just seems impossible to me-it would be like magic. Well done you!

ShaunaSadeki · 13/11/2024 09:43

Amazing results @IHateMozzies

bananasplice · 13/11/2024 09:56

@IHateMozzies I am glad you posted I feel the same.
I started on the 26oct.
6lbs off first week then just under 3.
This week I feel like I have stalled, I have one more 2.5 then will go on to the 5.
I am definitely in a calorie deficit but the scales haven't moved this week
Will keep drinking water but feel they should be moving.
I know it is still 8lbs in 2 and a bit weeks but I have 4 stone to lose so was hoping for regular drops

👏👏👏 well done - it’s such a boost isn’t it?

redavocado · 13/11/2024 09:56

Well done @IHateMozzies!

@Goldleafcat I'm starting to feel similar and I'm planning a bridging dose next week! I did my third jab yesterday to bring it forward a day and because I wasn't really feeling any suppression. My weight's bounced back up a bit too. I'm hoping this third dose kicks in soon!

bananasplice · 13/11/2024 09:56

Soryy that should be well done @IHateMozzies and I was replying to @Goldleafcat :)

Good luck! I was so scared before I did my first jab, then for 2 days thought it wasn’t working, but it is!

my second jab was a breeze and I have had no side effects bar feeling a tiny bit sick when I haven’t eaten enough or not eaten for too long

I think this will be me, but I’m loving not wanting wine and I’m keeping up the exercise so at some point I feel I shall be rewarded. The main difference right now is that I don’t feel like giving up and just smashing through wine, crisps and chocolate- which I would normally do at this point.

piscofrisco · 13/11/2024 10:09

Good luck @lovealongbath I had mine in the fridge for months as I was terrified. Even if I start getting horrible side effects now, they would have been the same in September, the difference being that potentially I would have been a much healthier weight by now. I'm very cross with myself. But at least I've made a start.

Nibbling on a few blackberries for breakfast. Just given the dogs their toast. Not even tempted to have a square of it like I usually do. Witchcraft!

Can i ask - whats a bridging dose ?

It’s hard when you start with a great result and then it stalls. Keeping positive thoughts for you..you can do it x
